Guest Reviews
- Michael (9/5): can recommend this hotel to all ages Was mobility friendly - Breakfasts were good. Continental and full breakfasts were available. Plenty of choice. if you hadan eating problem the staff were willing to help and advise.
Smoking was outside the building The accommodation was outside the town so it was a fair walk. We hired a car so it did not matter. Hotel staff organised car hire so experience was a pleasure not a pain
- Nonita (9/5): Comfortable, lots of space and room cleaned everday -
- Crawford (8/5): -
- Dave (9/5): Nice and relaxing. The Restaurent and dinner show was excellent. - The amenities were nice and clean. The Resort is close to town and neaches. The staff were excellent. We arrived late due to Qantas troubles and the Manager had arranged sandwiches for out room. . a nice touch. The only thing was we had thought we had booked two beds in our room rather than one large bed. The bed was spacious and comfortable but it's our preference to have two beds.
- Claire (10/5): - Quiet, comfortable and lovely staff
- Christine (9/5): Very enjoyable and no annoying air conditioning in our room. - Well laid out and private. It was all good.
- LAN (5/5): Bad cleaning - N/A Have cockroach in the bathroom on the first day when I entered the room which locates on the 2nd floor
- LAN (1/5): Bad service - None Front desk didn’t communicate with us before charge us the transportation
- Robyn Maillard (10/5): - Beautiful gardens, comfortable, clean rooms. Food was great, especially the Eton Mess 😀
The staff were so lovely. Very helpful and accommodating. No serious cons, perhaps having a shelf on which to put toiletries in the shower would be nice.
- Ian (8/5): -
- Lucinda (9/5): -
- Millers (8/5): - Very friendly and helpful staff. Pool was very handy, with towels supplied. BBQ area very clean and tidy. Bed very uncomfortable. Had cockroaches in bed and benches. Lack of utensils and crockery.
- Lorraine (10/5): Great place - Great place to stay. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was very clean and comfortable.
- Bruce (8/5): - Staff were very kind and helpful.
- Elzbieta (7/5): The experience would be much better if a comfortable bed was provided, it’s essential when staying for a week. - Location, swimming pool, friendly staff. Bed was very uncomfortable, pillows and bedding old, need replacing. Rooms are dated, bathrooms in need of a good spring clean and refurbishing.
- Geraldine (10/5): - Excellent location within walking distance of the township. Has all the facilities needed. Every single staff member made the stay enjoyable and were all so helpful and informative about what to do and where to go. Nothing to complain about.
- Suzanne (7/5): -
- Lorraine (8/5): My third visit to Norfolk Island - pleasant and worthwhile. - Good location and public rooms. Room somewhat in need of a facelift but typical for Norfolk Island which is a wonderful place to visit.
- Bryce (8/5): -
- Michael (8/5): -
- Vicki (7/5): Could do with updating and improvements - Good location Bed needs replacing - very saggy bed.
No shade around pool and pool area- needs umbrellas
- Kat (8/5): - The staff were very friendly and very helpful, the location was excellent, a short walk from the town centre, and close to other restaurants and sight seeing locations … the rooms a very good size with sitting room inside and also a lovely verandah with an outdoor setting to relax on ..and a beautiful large pool. There were tea and coffee facilities a small bar fridge and microwave in the rooms.
Rooms were serviced daily. The gardens around the hotel were beautiful and relaxing. There was a restaurant in the hotel and function rooms where tour operators held some very entertaining functions with catering done by the hotel. Thankyou for a very pleasant stay Not applicable!
- Kylie (10/5): Lovely location. - Great location and comfortable rooms. We had a lovely welcome from Tarni at reception. The staff who serviced our room didn’t clean our cups and glasses. One wine glass was even tipped upside down on the tray (as if ready for re-use) and still had remnants of wine in it!
- Lynda (9/5): Enjoyable - Location was excellent
- Dianne (10/5): - Loved the property was close to town centre. Staff were fabulous NA
- John (10/5): - Tv reception in evenings
- Martin (8/5): -
- PETER (7/5): Spacious with great service, location and value, but a couple of niggles - Location was great, room was spacious with lots of storage; bed was big, warm and comfortable, staff very friendly and helpful. Very good for arranging airport transfers, hire car and the like. Good tea/coffee supplies. Ample space for luggage. The WiFi signal was weak in our room (almost unusable), so had to go onto the veranda to access internet and upload photos etc. We were there in winter time, room was a little cool, especially mornings and evenings (had to wear jumpers and jackets in room, note however this seemed to be typical of every building we went into on the island). Bathroom worked well but plumbing fittings seemed a bit worn.
- Robyn (10/5): Paradise Hotel / resort was a pleasant place to stay in a perfect location with friendly staff. - Staff were pleasant & polite. Location was perfect. Rooms & outside area was clean & tidy & accommodating. Restaurant served lovely meals & were accommodating for dietary requirements. Bar & restaurant staff were friendly & pleasant.
- David (8/5): - The property was set in lovely gardens, walkable to town. The only thing that would have made our stay better was a toaster in the room because food and dining is expensive on the Island.
- Steve (10/5): Exceptional - Nice size room , Exceptional food at Garden restaurant on site plus pool and nice grounds next to Victoria Gardens , Close to Burnt pine Town
- Deborah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elizabeth (6/5): Pleasant -
- Catherine (5/5): Passable -
- Pieter (8/5): It was home away from home. - The Resort was well kept and clean. The staff is friendly and extremely polite. The food exceeded my expectations. Well done. Will definitely return here. Wifi was a bit sketchy and made contact with the family a bit of a challenge
- Anne (10/5): I would return there - Location was perfect, staff very helpful, friendly and competent
- Ian (9/5): Very Relaxing -
- Krzysztof (4/5): Avoid, as it’s overpriced and has ancient facilities. - I struggle to see any positives, to be honest. Old decor, uncomfortable beds, cockroaches in the room, extremely poor breakfast (one egg, toast, beans, coffee flavoured water) at AUD30, no response to messages about airport pick-up, location far from any interesting view or coast.
- Lee (5/5): Passable -
- William (8/5): Good spacious facility - was upgraded to a more spacious room with a verandah - N/A N/A
- Karen (10/5): - Quiet and convenient
- Emma (10/5): The most relaxing holiday I’ve ever had and I’ve been all over the world - Everything. It was about beautiful, cannot fault it Nothing
- Jennette (10/5): Exceptional - The staff were friendly and always helpful, nothing was a bother.
The restaurant offered lovely meals that were competitively priced.
- Todd (10/5): - Paradise was great. Staff were lovely and always happy to help. Could have been cleaner as there were a couple of cockroaches that frequented the room ans well and mould on the bathroom roof. The walls were thin so we could hear the people next doors conversation. A car is really helpful as it’s a little walk into town. Great facility
- Miranda (9/5): Fabulous would stay there again - Staff at reception so helpfull.
The pool
Even other holiday makers were lovely. Nothing
- Yvonne Maree (8/5): - Staff were lovely my room was very hot and no shade around pool area
- Belinda (7/5): Lovely accommodation close to gardens, gallery and tourist attractions. - Easy access to rooms, parking, reception and town.
Staff were helpful. Innerspring beds were not good for my back.
Soundproofing in rooms was not good as person in room next door had a constant cough that affected my stay.
- Jeffill (9/5): Superb -
- Michael (8/5): We love our visit to Norfolk Island. We will definitely holiday there again. - We stayed in shoulder season for the first 4 days we were the only persons there.
The staff were exceptional , friendly and very helpful.
- Chloe (6/5): - Staff friendly and very helpful. Room comfortable and clean, but a bit cold.
- Jane (9/5): Superb -
- Domenic (10/5): Great place to stay - First time at this hotel and it’s was great very clean and very helpful staff. The only thing is the need free Wifi.
- Qynn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Liliana (8/5): Very good -
- Ann (9/5): Superb -
- John (8/5): - Room was not as clean as it could have been, loose tiles in the bathroom had bugs crawling in and out, cobwebs everywhere under counters and benches, needs a bit of Reno and care.
- Gordon (9/5): Clean, comfortable but most of all great value for money - Location was great, staff excellent & gave us so much assistance & advice & were obliging with a pool view 😁
- Graham (8/5): Very good -
- Timothy (7/5): Comfortable, relaxed atmosphere with helpful and friendly staff. - Comfortable with layback relaxed atmosphere. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We found the WIFI not very reliable.
- Maree (8/5): Very good -
- Karen (9/5): It was lovely , no complaints - The staff were amazing, so friendly.. The bathroom in the apartment could have been cleaner , and the restaurant was so hot and no atmosphere.. Fans and music would have been nice . But meals were lovely .
- Jed (8/5): Very enjoyable - Comfortable and clean and good location All good
- Heather (6/5): Love the Island and its people - Very nice welcome, beach towels supplied, Great Location to shops and investigating the Island, pool, quite, roomy, close car spots No A/C, Cockroaches everywhere, expect a couple but not as many that there was, mould in shw, low water pressure, no toaster, beds uncomfortable, limited ability in simple food prep to save costs
- Robert (9/5): Comfortable and central place to stay on Norfolk - Very friendly and helpful staff, they were great to deal with both in reception and in the restaurant. The restaurant served delicious food. The facilities were nice for the star rating of the hotel - nice pool. The cleanliness of the room wasn't 100% but was fine overall. Not much else to say really.
- Jodie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Whyte (7/5): Very nice place to stay for the money. My only complaint was the bed was not very comfortable. - Lovely property and great staff. The staff bent over backwards and couldn’t be anymore helpful. The only complaint I have is the bed was quite uncomfortable.
- Rosalind (9/5): Highly Recommended - Absolutely 1st class staff at this hotel. They were more than helpful to us when we had some medical issues, meaning we had to unexpectedly stay longer.
Good breakfast, lunch and dinner with a bar.
Rooms are adequate. Plenty of parking. No WiFi. Just remember to get a local simm card from the P&R Store when you arrive on Norfolk.
- Annette (8/5): Sad occasion but a very nice comfortable facility with mostly lovely staff. not kid safe - Nice location. Mostly lovely staff. Very clean No fence around pool therefore would not want to bring small children
Wi-Fi did not work, was given a ticket and paid, it didn’t work I bought it back, the next code also didn’t work I tried to bring it back but had to be o to a funeral and when I checked out the next day I informed the staff member who seemed to indicate it was my fault because I didn’t return to swap the code even though I said I was at a funeral. I should not have to pay 25+ for Wi-Fi that didn’t work especially when in the internet it says free Wi-Fi. She did not offer me any refund. My recommendation is Do not advertise free Wi-Fi when it is not free. If it doesn’t work please refund your customers without making them feel bad. All other staff were really lovely.
- Amanda (6/5): Lovely staff - Very friendly staff and very helpful with arranging anything you needed Food was mediocre when doing the conflict night that was held where we were staying
- DAVID (10/5): - Safe and quiet, clean rooms, helpful staff. Restaurant does good meals, the fish was gorgeous. Would stay again👍
- Edsyd (7/5): Pleasant Accommodation - I did like the pool area with the nice lounge chairs
- Anthony (8/5): Had a nice time. The room was very clean and spider and ant free - The breakfast was acceptable given the availability of food on the island. Not too impressed where we turned up for breakfast on one of the mornings and no staff were there. We had to go elsewhere.
- Edsyd (7/5): Overall, Paradise Hotel offered a comfortable stay - The room was quiet and very spacious
- Mark (9/5): Superb - Welcoming and friendly, enjoyed my stay and the island throughly. .
- Marea (10/5): Exceptional - The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room was comfortable and clean, any need or question was addressed promptly. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The pillows were not comfortable, they were hard and flat.
There was no hot water for a shower in the morning.
- Russell (8/5): Very good -
- Ann (8/5): Very good - ok room service too early of a morning
- Paul (8/5): Comfortable budget stay - The quiet and peaceful atmosphere The buffet breaks
- Susan Gail (10/5): - Ideal location. Staff very friendly and super helpful. Room a good size for a week stay. Comfy bed and clean facilities.
- Rachel (8/5): lovely staff, friendly and comfy hotel. - lovely room overlooking the pool. it was very quiet and under staffed. it felt like it hadn’t fully recovered from the Covid pandemic.
it needs an influx of visitors and a lick of paint to bring it back to life.
- Brian (5/5): Passable - Pleasant grounds. Staff were excellent. Poor room facilities and restaurant over- priced
- Jacqui (8/5): island life means accepting the limitations - comfortable rooms clean beautiful well kept surroundings. limited restaurant facilities and wifi access
- Jasmyn (9/5): Superb -
- Beverley (8/5): Very good -
- William (9/5): Great trip and met great people - Every member of staff made you feel like you belonged and nothing was too much trouble for them to ensure your stay was memorable, Nothing
- Maria (8/5): Very good -
- Tara (8/5): Very good -
- Anthony (5/5): Passable -
- Leanne (10/5): We loved every moment of our time here. Tahnie on reception was absolutely delightful and went out of her way to assist. - Everything! The staff are fabulous, the room was spacious and conveniently located. Beautiful grounds, relaxing and quiet. close to town.
- Graeme (5/5): Passable -
- Megan (8/5): - Staff are amazing. Welcoming and personal. Hotel suffers from shortages seen over Norfolk in terms of staffing, produce and variety. Great range of tours and activities can be organised with no trouble. Most tour groups are over 70's so don't think this is a hotel with lots of kids around. Clean, good rooms, but it's staff like Tahni and Sam who will make it feel like home and you a favourite long distance family member.
- Betty (10/5): very comfortable. not glamorous, but its a happy place. all amenities. restaurant on hand. laundry , library, not good i - easy access. close to everywhere. very central. extremely good staff. very friendly and helpful. back from the road. easy access for coaches not a thing
- Robin (9/5): Thoroughly enjoyed our stay - Did not have breakfast, however staff were very accommodating, pleasant and could not do enough for you...staff really made this hotel stay so pleasant...would recommend to anyone!!! Nothing
- Shaun (8/5): RELAXED AND FRIENDLY - The room was lovely and spacious with plenty of room to store baggage, hang clothes, store shoes and put things away in drawers. There were tea and coffee making facilities and a tea towel to wipe up (although a small bottle of detergent and a little wash washing up brush would have been handy too). The bathroom was clean and well provisioned with shampoo, soap, shower cap, face washers (including one specifically for make up removal which was terrific!) and the towels were a decent size and quality - when an extra was required for drying wet hair it was no problem either. We loved the fact that the hot water was instantly hot and we didn't have to run the water while it warmed, plus the water pressure in the well-sized shower was excellent! The bed and pillows were comfortable and there was a nice big blanket in the wardrobe which was sufficient for the minimal chill at night. There were two comfortable chairs to watch the television which had a reasonable number of free-to-air channels and there were also DVD's which could be borrowed from out near Reception. The staff were all very friendly and helpful with special mention to Tahnie and Karina on Reception, Sam and the lady in the restaurant on our first night (whose name I sadly didn't get) who were all wonderful. Dinner in the Restaurant was very good too. Very small things: the food in the restaurant was served extremely quickly with one course on top of the next and some might say the bathroom could do with an update but it served very well and we like showers with doors! So if Paradise Hotel and Resort does a renovation, please make sure you don't put in those silly showers that are open on one side and end up flooding the bathroom!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Had a lovely pool view room which would have been great in summer. There is no heating in the rooms in this hotel. It does not get too cold at night but there is also no air conditioning for the summer, only ceiling fans. That may be enough as the weather is temperate in the summer too.
- John (10/5): Absolutely Spoilt - The staff made my stay so enjoyable, nothing was a problem, from the "Princess" on reception (tour bookings), Karina Manager( best sights to see and people to talk too), and Sam (bar and dinning duties). Thank you
- Gary (10/5): - located close to main part of town. Amenities were great
- Paul (10/5): Norfolk - Quiet, clean, good breakfast, nice helpful staff, spacious comfortable rooms & nice pool
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A VERY COMFORTABLE ROOM, FRIENDLY, HELPFUL STAFF. WHAT MORE COULD YOU WANT,.
- Joy (10/5): - Hotel very handy to attractions and town. Would definitely stay there on future trips to Norfolk.
