• Harald.Raetzsch (7/5): Good price performance combined with friendly and helpful staff in a super location to get around - Location, 5 minutes walk to ferry terminal, 15 minutes by car to airport, many nice restaurants in walking distance, gorgeous views across to Horta / Faial, breakfast was good, beds were good and comfortable, free and easy parking, room and bathroom clean, fresh towels and good selection of soap, etc. Not a living room but excellent price performance for the typical sightseeing visitor. Pico is an amazing place and this hotel makes it very easy and enjoyable to experience everything. The room as just big enough- ok, but not overwhelming. Opening breakfast at 7:30 sharp is tough when one has to catch an early flight. We understand that it is not worthwhile to start breakfast earlier just because a few have to leave early. Just an idea. Put one of the three coffee machines and some cake into the hallway / lobby right before the breakfast room and everyone is happy. A small user guide on how to operate the AC / heater would also be helpful, because the labels on the remote are not self-explanatory - even for a technic nerd. Finding out how to use it by trial and error is possible but takes a lot of time. Room had a bathtub - no shower, which requires climbing in / out of the tub every day.

• Helen (10/5): Good choice in Madalena - Great location. The room was very comfortable and it had a nice big bathroom. Good breakfast with lots of selection. Good restaurants in walking distance. Most of all excellent value for the money. At breakfast there was a strong floral odour in the air which might have been coming from a cleaning cart left right by the coffee machine. So off-putting and so unnecessary these days. Eco cleaners are effective without the overpowering scent.

Da wir in der Nebensaison da waren, war das Hotel nicht so voll und sehr angenehm. Wir hatten unser Zimmer im 3. Stock mit seitlichen Meerblick. Teilweise merkt man dass das Hotel schon etwas älter ist.

• Marina (3/5): Cucarachas y sin agua caliente. - Ubicación y vistas. Había una cucaracha viva en nuestra habitación y no sale agua caliente en la ducha si te ubican en una cierta ala del hotel. Al segundo día nos cambiaron de habitación a una que si tenía agua caliente pero que olía a tabaco.

• Guido (8/5): Goed hotel, alle faciliteiten, dicht bij de haven - Ondanks eerdere negatieve reviews hier, was het onthaal heel vriendelijk. Ondanks dat we te vroeg waren (middag) was er een kamer beschikbaar. Het zomerseizoen was te einde, maar het zwembad was nog lekker, om af te koelen in de namiddag. Het ontbijt viel niet echt tegen, maar een deel van het personeel (Trainees ?) die geen oog hadden voor de gasten of het afruimen van de tafels - ze "verdwenen" om 09:00 uur en daarna verliep alles vlot.
• Maya (6/5): Disappointing in total especially compared to our other hotels in our trip - Breakfast and location (2 minutes walk from the ferry+great parking place) are very good The hotel in total is not well maintained and not very clean. Air condition didn't work properly in one of the rooms (we had 3) and some other staff (as the bathroom stopper didn't fully stop and the stream of water was weak).

• paul (8/5): - Mooie kamers, Comfortabele bedden. Locatie, vlak bij de ferry en het centrum van madalena. Uitgebreid ontbijtbuffet. Parking Wachttijd aan de receptie, 20 minuten om in te checken. Slechts 1 medewerker achter de balie die zich niet stoorde aan het feit dat er mensen stonden te wachten. Tijdens het ontbijt veel medewerkers in de zaal die ogenschijnlijk niets anders te doen hadden dan op de gasten staan te kijken.

• Alain (7/5): Hotrl in die Jahre gekommen, aber ok. - Die Lage, das Frühstücksbuffet (nicht unbedingt alles war gut, aber viel Auswahl), das Personal hilft und gibt Auskunft, so gut sie können. Wir waren 3 Gruppen. In einem Zimmer funktionierte das WLAN und die Klima Anlage nicht. Haben dann eine mobile erhalten, welche aber den Boden mit Wasser füllte. Wir schlafen nicht zwingend mit Klima, aber wir konnten dadurch das Zimmer nie runterkphlen und es war entsprechend bis 2,3 Uhr morgens sehr warm. Bei einem Zimmer lief das Wasser in der Dusche nicht ab. Eventuell hatten wir einfach nur Pech…
• Connector06100168028 (6/5): Don’t ask for Gluten Free - Resort hotel, convenient for ferry. When I asked if I could have gluten free bread at breakfast I was given a blunt “No”. Reception later explained that although management were aware that many people asked for gluten free options, it was not policy to provide them or indicate which allergens were present. Otherwise the hotel is pleasant, spacious and has a nice outdoor pool. Restaurant not open for evening meals.

Ma vontade, pedi para reservar um restaurante informaram que nessa época nao fazia reserva quando na realidade faziam. Pedi um copo de leite para tomar com chá, a pessoa informou que tinha que ir ate a cozinha mas nao foi buscar. Ar condicionado quebrou, a geladeira do quarto nao estava funcionando. Muito pouco prestativos

• Anika (10/5): - Das Personal war super freundlich und das Bett sehr bequem. 3 Kissen standen zur Auswahl und unser Zimmer hatte einen Balkon mit Blick auf den Hafen und den Berg Pico. Da wir vor der Check-in Zeit angereist sind, konnten wir unsere Koffer im Hotel verstauen und hatten Glück, dass wir sogar ca. 2 Stunden vor dem eigentlichen Check-in bereits einchecken konnten, da unser Zimmer schon fertig war. Der Pool hatte von 8 bis 21 Uhr geöffnet und war angenehm temperiert, Handtücher kann man sich an der Rezeption ausleihen. Das Frühstück war sehr gut, neben dem "üblichen" (Toast, Brötchen, Cornflakes, Marmelade, Wurst, Käse usw.) gab es auch jeden Tag eine große Auswahl an Kuchen/Teilchen sowie verschiedenes Obst. Die Lage ist super, in weniger als 5 Minuten Fußweg hat man diverse Restaurants, Souvenirshops und einen Supermarkt zur Auswahl. Es gab für das Doppelbett nur eine Decke, das ist je nachdem wie man es gewohnt ist vielleicht ein bisschen ungünstig, aber dafür gab es noch eine kuschelige Decke im Schrank.

• james (10/5): 4 nights in Madalena - I had 4 nights in this very agreeable hotel Very convenient for boat terminal and whale watching trips and restaurants I was lucky to get a balcony overlooking the pool and the sea Breakfast was more than adequate and plenty of it! Room was comfortable and very quiet Absolutely no need to change my towels and sheets every day! I certainly did not ask for it!

• Tess (8/5): - We enjoyed our stay here! Its biggest selling feature is how convenient it is for walking around Madalena, and close to the airport. We also liked that it was super close to the ferry and whale watching tours. The pool area is a great space with lots of seating, and the included breakfast was nice to have. Our only issue during our stay was that our mini fridge didn’t work, and the staff were somewhat responsive to our inquires of how to resolve this issue. Eventually after our request, they we’re able to give us ice to keep our grocery items kind of cold, but it wasn’t exactly ideal. If we had known this, we would not have gone to the grocery store - however this could be unique to our experience!
• Elisabeth (10/5): - Excellent hotel in the center of the town. Rooms are rather small but okay. The lighting is not very bright. Equipment of the rooms are according to 4 star hotels. Excellent breakfast. Parking is available but it is better to have a small car. We would return anytime.

• Badmati (4/5): Not 4 star. - Hotel has potential to be fantastic but let down by some economy decisions. We stayed a week but there is no kettle in the room only a coffee machine. They only supply 5 pods after which you have to buy more. The bar is only open from 19:00 and is restricted. There is a bar that is run by the reception staff but they haven't been trained. (A gin and tonic is not a cocktail. ) There is a pool but it is unheated. ⁰The restaurant only serves breakfast. It's biggest plus is it's location close to the ferry and Whale watching centres.

• Fiona (9/5): Comfortable hotel in a great location in beautiful Madalena. - Great central location right opposite the ferry terminal and 2 minutes walk from the whale watching companies. Balcony with nice view of the sea. The staff were very pleasant and let me check in at 8.30 am. I was only expecting to leave my luggage. Wonderful breakfast - 10 different types of cake- need I say more ! There was cooled flavoured water available in the lobby for guests at all times. The pictures of whales being butchered in the lobby were upsetting. The bath tub which had the shower over it was quite high and a bit difficult for those with sore knees to step into.

• Leslie (8/5): Very good hotel. - Our room and bathroom were very good, with large comfortable bed, excellent bedding and towels and very clean. The breakfast buffet was good and opened at 7.00, allowing time to start activities early. Our only disappointment was that we arrived at 10.00 on the ferry from Horta and, whilst knowing that check in was not officially until 4pm did hope to get in the room before we did at 3pm.
