• Sharrel (1/5): It’s going to take a while to travel back there again and feel safe - The property look nice from the outside but when I checked the bathroom it was dirty and lots of mold It looks safe and nice but on the 4th day 2 black robbers came into my room took money, of over 3 thousand dollars and South Africa money,purse,backpack phones one old and a new S25 lots of things that was in my purse,driver’s license,passport was in my backpack etc I was on my bed face time my sister she almost had a heart attack etc I had no dollars but luckily I had South Africa money still a week later they caught the guys but I couldn’t make a case and they said the receptionist we both got tide up she didn’t want to press chargers well I am just starting to recovering from this trauma. Please be careful in South Africa when visiting. The breakfast was delicious

• Doris (10/5): I highly recommend Morningside Cottage. - The owner/hostess is kind, warm, attentive and generous. Chef/ Caretaker/ Manager Frank is exceedingly warm and generous. He makes an excellent breakfast. The availability of fruit bowl 24/7. The place felt like a home as I was working from my room. Bless them. May they be blessed abundantly.

I had expired milk in my room. There also not enough plug points in the room. They definitely need to do something about those pillows. The photos attached herewith is what was underneath the bed.

• Rolene (9/5): - Beautiful guesthouse and the pool was great after a hot run! Breakfast was delicious. Friendly staff upon a late arrival :-) Honesty bar - wine per glass. The wine was warm and must have been standing for days. Check open wines and remove after 2 days.

Wir hatten ein geräumiges Zimmer mit großem Bad und Zugang zu einem privaten Freisitz. Motorrad sicher im Anwesen abzustellen. Kleiner Pool zum Verschnaufen. Frühstück prima. Gutes Lokal ( Brasserie ) fussläufig, weitere sehr empfehlenswerte ( Uitsig ) schnell per Uber erreichbar. Schnell am Chapmans Peak und zur Kap Halbinsel. Ausstattung nicht mehr ganz neu.

Small indoor lounge area with few seats - it was raining so outdoor facilities couldn’t be used, no tea and coffee facilities available when we arrived. There was a leak in the ceiling above our bed so rainwater dripped on the bed.

• Marktoon (10/5): A relaxing, safe and secure stay with excellent facilities and friendly, accommodating staff. - I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Morningside Cottage. The staff were absolutely incredible. I arrived on a late flight into Cape Town International Airport, and I only got to the property at around midnight. Simphiwe, one of the ladies who lives on the property, was there to greet me and opened up the security gate when I buzzed. I was delighted to be able to park my rental vehicle in the secure parking on the property, which was a few steps away from my room. The room itself was spotlessly clean and had everything I needed. A spacious room with a comfortable, king sized bed, and two chairs. A large ensuite bathroom with a shower. There was a safe in the hanging cupboard. There were coffee and tea facilities on the small desk under the mirror. There was also a fan on another desk under the wall-mounted TV. Heading out of my room, there was a large patio next door, alongside an immaculate pool. Some tables and chairs were set up for al fresco breakfasts. Inside the large communal area of the property was the breakfast buffet area with more tables, a little lounge area with a lending library bookshelf, a kitchen, and the reception desk. There was also a little honesty bar with snacks, crisps, soft drinks and alcoholic beverages. Guests are welcome to take what they need, mark down their purchases in the honesty book and then settle up later. The breakfasts were fantastic. Frank cooked my full English breakfast perfectly and it was a great way to start each day. There were also cereals, fruit and yoghurt, preserves, orange juice and a coffee and tea maker on the breakfast buffet. Overall, I was extremely satisfied with every aspect of my stay at Morningside Cottage. I had a comfortable night's sleep every night of my stay and I awoke refreshed and ready for the day. There was nothing I didn't like. Everything was perfect!

Close to the beaches where I needed to be & there is a convenient store & other stores close by. Definitely will book again. That I was there on business. Would have loved to stay longer & be there for leisure. The pool looked amazing!

The only complaint, and this is really minor, the venetian blinds needed dusting! The window had been open so this probably contributed, so a minor thing!

• reaganmcpherson (8/5): Great stay at morningside Cottage - I had a great stay at the guest house—everything was as expected and met my needs comfortably. The room was clean, the service was friendly, and the overall atmosphere was welcoming. The only downside was the breakfast, which was quite basic and could be improved with a bit more variety or quality. That said, it didn’t take away much from an otherwise pleasant experience. I’d definitely consider staying here again.

Good size shower, plenty of hot water, very comfortable bed. We stayed there for the 2nd time now and will go back there. Very safe and quiet neighbourhood. They even put on the heater before we arrived, which make a difference to arriving in an ice-cold room. The bread options at breakfast were a bit limited. Only toast (white and brown), no sourdough or health bread.

The room and bathroom hat slapstick tiles that were vey cold. With minimum carpeting this made the room cold. It was warm enough in bed but a second heater would have helped. Tea and coffee available but no cups.

Cleaning was good and at breakfast you have a lot of choice. Frankie took good care of our breakfast and was always in a very good mood. We will certainly come back next year!

She looked after me and accommodated me during a very stressful time. She allowed me to sleep a few extra hours before making the trip back the next day. Great breakfast. Clean room, everything was great. Just pointing out the immense kindness from Frances. Thank you!

• Soo (5/5): Good location guesthouse. - Location good and property secure. Beds clean and good size and breakfast had to be selected night before and selection was ok but limited. Good secure parking available for at least 6 cars Mine and my friends room were located either side of the reception/terrace/ pool area ( nos 1&2). Other guests would walk easily in front of our rooms and be able to look in so little privacy and cars entering gravel car park affected sleep in room 1. Breakfast choice was limited ( but well cooked) and cold options very basic. Bottled water available but you have to pay for it. Frances - the owner- was a little intrusive. Cleaning of room/ bathroom could be improved and room needed some improvements to fittings. No fridge in rooms.
