Jon (8/5): - Stayed 3 nights. The staff was great. Breakfast good. Rooms were spacious and clean. Traffic congestion during the week can be terrible. But, there is on-site underground parking. With the hotel discount, each night cost about €16.

Richard (10/5): - I had an unusual experience, 2nd day there I sprained my ankle on tour and virtually stuck in my room the entire stay. The staff went out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed and we there every step on the way. I hope everyone who reads this can appreciate how important this makes a stay.

Ian (10/5): Exceptional hotel - The experience was AMAZING! The best thing was the room. We are a family of 4 and the hotel provided us two connected rooms which have two bathrooms. The breakfast was delicious. The service was wonderful - everyone was extremely kind and helpful (despite the language barrier). The place was also near to the city and 2 minutes away were plenty of restaurants and cafes to eat dinner. Overall we had a great stay and would definitely recommend.
Adam (10/5): 1 night stay in Ibis Styles, Caen - Booked this place as a backup, just in case I couldn't make it to the ferry in time. The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to help bridge the language barrier. (I don't know much French, they didn't know much English). Once everything was understood, my friend and I took the keys are were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the rooms. Coffee making facilities, air conditioning and a king size bed. There are a number of eateries and even a cinema just around the corner from the hotel and it's only a couple of minutes walk from the train station. For a last minute stay, there was nothing more I could have asked for.

There was an extensive breakfast that was available starting at 6:00, as we left fairly early every day. We were able to park on the street close to the hotel all 3 nights we stayed. It was a convenient location, easy to get to the highway, just across the river from the city of Caen and near several restaurants and stores.

John (10/5): - We stayed two nights a week apart. Hotel is a few minutes walk fro train station and numerous restaurants. Trams station is right outside the door takes you to shopping as well as a shopping center in the same building.

Sofia (10/5): - Parking is only covered for the night, at 6:00am the clock starts and you get charged by the hour. Staff could be a bit more friendly, especially the people working at the breakfast buffet. They were hard to find when needed help, and acted annoyed when asked for help.
Salomon (6/5): Minimalistic, basic, modern, good for a short stat - Minimalist modern hotel close to tourist areas, we liked the excellent included breakfast, the modern decor and nice shower, but there is no phone, no safebox in the rooms (available at the lobby) no coffee, no closet space or drawers, no fridge and the heating/AC is central controlled and room was to hot for comfortable sleeping.

I did not like the fact that I had been told by a young man in Reception that my parking ticket had been validated but when we tried to exit the car park the following morning the machine retained my ticket and the barrier remained shut. We conferred with the supervisor of the car park who charged us 27 Euros to leave. I went immediately to Reception but the young lady said that she would be unable to resolve the matter. Our understanding was that we were entitled to free parking between 1800 and 0900 the next day. In our case that would have meant us paying for two hours. Sadly this experience does little to enhance my view about our stay at Ibis in Caen.

Kwok (8/5): - Nice hotel not far from city center. Check-in is nice and fast. The room is spacious and comfortable but we have one major problem with it. On check-in we discovered that the bathroom drain would not drain. We called the front desk and someone was sent to fix the problem. He tried but could not fix something that was broken. He promised to come back to fix it. Then we went out to dinner. When we came back late after dinner we discovered that not only was the problem not fixed it got worse. The water leaked into the floor whenever the sink was used. We called the front desk again but was told there was nothing they could do because it was night time. There was no maintenance staff. We couldn’t change to another room because the hotel was full. We were amazed that there was no solution to our problem even though the hotel was big and our problem should require only moderate work. Other than this problem the hotel was comfortable. Breakfast was good. Plenty of paid parking in the next door garage.

Bill (6/5): - Minimalist modern hotel with a lot of coloured plastic in the rooms. Good shower, comfortable bed. Reasonable location beside Orne river for central Caen shops and restaurants. Small bar in lobby isn't up to much. Happy hour from 6 to 8 made drink prices normal. Advertising it as having free parking is stretching it a bit. The hotel has an agreement with the nearby underground parking for free between 6pm and 9am, and on the street there are some free spaces, if unoccupied. This whole area of Caen is covered in road works, so getting to the hotel by car requires very careful navigation around the bridges of the Orne river. Miss a turn and you have to go round again. One day returned from Bayeux by train, and train station is very close to hotel, so very handy for anyone travelling by train. Excellent breakfast was included so that was a huge plus. Takeaway tea/coffee catered for. The hotel runs on minimal staff and the few that are there don't say a lot, or offer much information. Overall, we were disappointed on arrival, but warmed to the place as time went on.

John (10/5): Good town centre hotel close to amenities - The hotel is situated close to plenty of restaurants, café's and shops with pleasant walks along the canal, the staff are really friendly and helpful, most are bilingual, there is car parking below ground in a public carpark with free spaces for hotel guests from 18:00 to 09:00. La Boucherie restaurant across the canal is very good for meals if you are looking for an alternative to the hotel. The only real negative point is that there is no kettle and facilities for making a drink in your room. Lift security with your room card as verification is a very safe feature. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel

Ideally located. Clean hotel, friendly staff (english speaking) helpfull, with parking free. Highly recommended.

STEVEN (10/5): Loving the Ibis Style(s)........ - Really clean and quiet hotel. Near the centre but really quite and close to the road network for jet setting around the war beaches. First time in an Ibis and very impressed. The decor is very modern but we loved it. There is a shopping centre and a load of restaurants very near by, we loved Hippopotamus
Graeme (8/5): Clean, modern, spacious, convenient, safe. - Very good stay, excellent family room and wide range of food at breakfast. Pleasant short walk up to castle and city centre from this modern hotel. Convenient underground car park with discounted charges. Several restaurants just around the corner. Mini pool and mini golf clubs outside breakfast room was great for our boys. Only let down by: dripping a/c unit on breakfast room ceiling, and reception staff could not provide one extra pillow

Verified traveler (10/5): Great suite and great location. - Has a connected suite that was basically two separate rooms linked together. Awesome. Breakfast decent too. Near train station and near tram and walking distance to city castle. Perfect location. Though bring your own shampoo and conditioner if you don't like their soap+shampoo all in one lotion.
