• Christine (10/5): Stay here! - I was a little hesitant about staying outside a "major city," but I'm so glad we did. Very cute hotel and room. It was a short walk to the local town, which had lots of options for dinner and chianti tasting.

• Cindy (6/5): - I asked at checkin for resources about wine tours etc., I was told to go to the town square to find out information on my own. The bathroom was extremely old and extremely small. The shower tap would not move, it was cold for the first 5 mins then scolding hot. No other options to move it. No AC No screens on windows. Not a great experience for a 3 star.

• Sergio (10/5): Località assolutamente da provare - In passaggio, di ritorno dalla Calabria verso Milano, usualmente organizziamo un "pit stop" in area Umbro - Toscana. Questa volta è capitato alla bellissima area delle colline senesi. Scelta ottima ! Facilitati dal bel tempo che ci ha accompagnati per tutto il viaggio, siamo arrivati in area verso il tramonto. Tutto bello, il microclima e la vecchia magione di transumanza ora adibita a B/B molto confortevole. Peccato che il tempo disponibile era ormai per noi ridotto poiché la località avrebbe meritato una sosta più lunga, approfittando di fare un tuffo in piscina e di passare ancora qualche ora all'ombra degli alberi circostanti ed assaggiare i fichi di una pianta ricca di frutti che si trova all'ingresso. Troveremo l'opportunità per ritornarci poiché la località e la struttura de "IL COLOMBAIO" lo meritano.

• Renee (10/5): Romantic honeymoon. - My husband and I stayed at this hotel during our honeymoon, in Italy. From the moment we walked in, the service was amazing and was extremely comfortable. It is a short walk into town and very romantic. We highly recommend this hotel.

• William (8/5): Lovely Inn in Tuscan countryside. - We found this to be a wonderful, welcoming, place to stay, in an ancient home, within walking distance of art, museum, ruins, restaurants and more. Also quite reasonably priced.

• Verified traveler (8/5): Nice rural setting - We stayed here because we wanted to be in a rural setting and close to town and both were accommodated . The town was gorgeous, lots of nice places to eat and shop. Castellina in Chianti is a place you don't want to miss.

• Verified traveler (8/5): Agroturismo near town - Good mix of being in an agroturismo and being near the town of Castellino in Chianti. The lady spoke english and french, which was a good plus. Room was warm, which was great since it was abnormally cold for this time of the year in Chianti and we were travelling by bicycle. We recommend the place.

• steve (10/5): Very nice historic hotel in a beautiful village - The hotel is in a very old stone structure just at the edge of Castellina, which is a small but very beautiful village located at the top of one of the highest mountains in Chianti. Don't expect a lot of big-city attractions, but if you like good food, good views, nice people and a very nice room, this is a great place.

• MANUEL (2/5): CAMBIO DE CASA POR SORPREA - Nos llevamos la sorpresa de que nos cambiaron de casa sin avisar, a la que se llegaba a través de 10 minutos camino de tierra en coche, el desayuno penoso y básico la habitación grande pero básica, no nos gusto el cambio pues queríamos una casa para ir andando al pueblo o cenar en ella, y la que nos dieron no ofrecía nada de esto,ni siquiera información de nada pues nunca había nadie, llegamos el primera día a las 9 noche y ni cenar pudimos, estamos disgustados con vosotros como intermediarios pues un viaje se prepara con unas perspectivas que no salieron, si hubiéramos querido esa casa la habríamos cogida
• René Ejvind (4/5): Ubehagelig velkomst i et snavse miljø. - Modtagelsen var skuffende, idet værtinden ikke var klar over at vi skulle komme. Vi følte os overhovedet ikke velkomne i den snavsede og rodede "reception". Mange gode værelser i Toscansk stil. Hotellet havde ikke svaret på mine forudsendte mails omkring om der eventuelt var glutenfrit brød til morgenmad. Meget Toscansk originalt lokale til brug for breakfast, men det er alt for småt til de gæster, der skal spise der. I øvrigt var der møgbeskidt. Vandet i svimmingpoolen så rent ud samme dag vi kom. Det blev ikke renset i 4 dage og formentlig kun fordi der ankom et cykelhold på omkring 15 personer. Omgivelserne omkring hotellet (hotellets område) var meget misligeholdt med meget løse fliser og "cementpest" - hedder det vist nok - over det hele.

• javier (8/5): Tranquilo y recomendable - Casa rural típica. Pueblo tranquilo y escaso turismo, con buen oferta de restaurantes (alguno muy bueno). Punto de partida muy centrado para excursiones por Toscana. Trato muy agradable. Desayuno y piscina correctos, según oferta. Ni lujo oriental ni exageración en la limpieza, pero todo funciona bien en el baño y las camas son cómodas. Ideal si al uno no le van los amontonamientos de gente

• Håkan (10/5): Prisvärt Hotell - Trevligt, bra, relativt enkelt hotell beläget några minuters promenad från byn. Roberta,hennes familj och personal var mycket hjälpsamma och service inriktade. De första dagarna var poolen inte städad, det var då också väldigt dåligt väder vilket kanske spelade in, de sista dagarna i vår vistelse blev poolen städad och väldigt fin. Frukosten ok, utan några större överraskningar Om vi återvänder till Castellina de Chianti(vilket är mycket sannolikt) så kommer vi definitivt att bo på detta hotell igen.

Все хорошо, только очень жарко летом из-за отсутствия кондиционеров ( их, как мы поняли нельзя ставить на исторических зданиях). Очень гостеприимные хозяева. И чудный старинный городок Castellino in Chianti.
• chris (8/5): castellina in chianti - the albergo is walking distance to cute castellina town center. some pretty good restaurants suggested. we were surprised to see that the "wine mark up" in restaurants is low i.e. just try some of these excellent chiantis without blowing your credit card... - rooms ok parking on the premises - one deception : poor breakfast+
• Vidar (8/5): Sentralt men kalt. - Sentral beliggenhet rett i utkanten av et hyggelig bysentrum. Vi var der i slutten av mai og det var veldig kalt på rommet. Vertinnen var upersonlig og var mest interresert i å få inn husleien.

• Carol (8/5): In love with Chianti - Easy to fall in love with the area. We loved our stay at the Albergo il Colombaio. Roberta was very welcoming and the croissants were absolutely delicious. Would recommend this stay anytime.

Great location within easy walking distance to the town of Castellina and it's fabulous eating places. Staff very friendly and relaxed. Changed our rooms to ground floor ones, without prompting, when she saw our heavy luggage. Beds were firm but linen more than made up for this so we slept well. Breakfast was pleasantly adequate with no rush. Ideal start to our holiday.
