mishabri (6/5): Average hotel stay - Was in town for a conference that started early the next morning. The breakfast had no grab and go items, thus the free breakfast perk didn't help me. Great A/C, space in the room but the bed was pretty hard and the pillows went flat.
Y7158ULcarolines (10/5): Great home base for a ski vacation - This is a great hotel to use as a base for skiing. They have a shuttle van and will drive you anywhere within 5 miles, including to the Park and Ride to catch the ski bus. The front desk staff was helpful and attentive. Breakfast was better than I've had at other Hyatt Place hotels. The heated pool and hot tub were perfect after days of skiing. There are plenty of restaurants to walk to and even more within driving distance if you have a car.
soptifyi (10/5): Great spot for a group trip - Great stay with a big group! Came here with 7 friends and we had 4 rooms between us. Honestly wasn't sure how it would go coordinating that many people but it worked out really well. Rooms were clean and comfy, no complaints there. Breakfast in the morning was actually decent which helped a lot when you're trying to get a group of 8 people moving! Location was super convenient for what we needed. Would definitely come back next time we're in Salt Lake.
11ontheroadagain1106 (10/5): Perfect for the Cottonwood Canyon skier or summer visitor. - Great place to stay if you are heading into the Conntonwood Canyons for skiing or fun summer activities. A straight shot to your destination but still convenient to Salt Lake City and also to Park City. Lots of walkable dining options - ski shop next door and another one a half mile away to meet your ski season needs. We have a group of 5-10 skiers who have been coming for years - we will be back again next year.
379leoj (10/5): Nice ski hotel - Very nice hotel for my ski trip, close to major resort. Commute is incredible easy and convenient. Can reach any place within 20 minutes. Solitude snowbird in 20 minutes is absolutely effortless.

I stayed for only three nights, washing my hair only twice. I immediately realized something was wrong as there was serious hard build up in my hair. Since then, I have been unable to get it out, days after my experience here. There is a serious neglect for clean water or water filtration systems here. I will not be returning.

Unfortunately, my experience at the Hyatt Place Salt Lake City/Cottonwood didn’t meet those expectations. The property felt noticeably less organized and the team seemed under-trained compared to what I’m used to from Hyatt. Management oversight and staff responsiveness could both use improvement. It wasn’t a terrible stay, but it was definitely below the standard I’ve come to expect from the Hyatt brand.

The room was clean and well-equipped. It was comfy. The neighborhood is nice. Ready-to-go breakfasts for us runners on the race day were awesome. Thanks. Definitely recommended.
Virginia (10/5): - This was the best stay I’ve had for years! I picked it for convenience and quality of property… but the STAFF WAS AMAZING! Both the day and evening shifts. I felt like the problem child, asking to change rooms, adding on my stay then changing my mind to my original plans and cancelling the add on. They were so kind and never made me feel like I was unconvincing them. They went out of their way to accommodate. I will definitely stay at Cottonwood Hyatt again when I’m in town!

Sharon (9/5): Upgrades needed - Clean. Very friendly staff. For a luxury hotel there are 2 things you need to upgrade absolutely. 1. You need USB ports in lamps and wall plugs. 2. Desperately need to upgrade the TV. Although nice that you provide HBO, it is not as popular. You really need to give access to streaming services. Most people have some and we could log in with our credentials . I guess I was disappointed in that. You have a reputation for class but these 2 things do not meet that standard.

I was attending meeting in the business complex across the street, and did not need a car for my entire week. The hotel was quiet, staff was friendly and everything was clean.

Although I am unsure how frequently this occurs, my family and I experienced a significant delay during check-in, as our room had not been cleaned prior to the designated check-in time of 3:00 PM. Additionally, only one of the two elevators was operational during our stay, which caused some inconvenience. However, aside from these issues, our overall experience was pleasant.
Catherine (10/5): Clean and Comfortable - The hotel is a very nice one. Breakfast was impressive and delicious. So many choices were offered, mostly healthy ones. The room was spacious and clean, and it met our needs. Some family members said the beds were too hard. My daughter and I were surprised at the lack of a full-length mirror. The staff was helpful and friendly.

Departure758267 (2/5): Terrible Place to Stay - Upon checking in, I requested 1. A quite room and 2. Daily room service. As a Globalist, I would expect that these two requests would be provided. The young girl that checked me in, placed me on the busiest side of the hotel regarding street noise (62000 South). It was terrible. Room 334. In addition, I did not receive daily room service. Even after reminding the person at the front desk about the daily room service the next morning. Every day I needed to request new towels. Never was the room service given. Every morning, I personally reminded the front desk person about the room service, and was always given the obligatory response "Of Course" which is a terrible way to respond to someone. Very disappointed. Not the kind of service I have come to expect from any level of Hyatt. I have noticed that the quality of personal working at this hotels front desk has dropped considerably recently. Very disappointed.

SANDIPKUMAR (9/5): - The front desk staff said at the time of checkout that you will be charged $100 for cleaning as there was a pet in your room. I never owned a pet in my life and so my family. I requested to show me the CCTV proof otherwise take your words back. He failed to provide any proof of pet came with us in the facility!

katetriz (4/5): Zero Fun Allowed - Stayed at the Hyatt for my sister's wedding - clean hotel, nice facility and breakfast. Came in on a Thursday, the bar wasn't staffed for a glass of wine, but I understand that bar activity is a little different in Utah. What I don't understand is the customer service?? On Friday night our group went back to the hotel to spend more time together after my sister's welcome party. We were likely being rowdy, as there were a lot of us, but we would have appreciated a kind word of warning rather than getting locked out to the back patio of the hotel, where we got a nice view of the completely empty hundreds of tables, chairs, and couches inside where we could be spending time together. Our crowd dispersed and there were only maybe 10 of us left, who got yelled at by Tina Mark when we were trying to make light of the situation. The supervisor the following night politely asked us to respect hotel quiet hours after 10 pm, which we did. Cannot believe that this hotel is a wedding venue partner - highly recommend NOT booking your room block at this hotel or recommending your guests to stay here. We wanted to spend time with our family, and instead were chastised and criticized by staff. My words to my fiance entering Utah were "I would love to live here" and my words leaving Utah were "would never live here in a million years"
Deborah (8/5): - I prefer a Hyatt Place stay over other hotels because their breakfast choices are superior to other hotel chains. Also, there's always a separate sitting area in every room with a sectional sofa and ottoman. Thank you Hyatt Place.

Michael (10/5): Great stay in Salt Lake City - We stayed here for a couple days while visiting Salt Lake City. Very nice location and felt safe. Hotel was very clean and staff was prompt and friendly. Outdoor pool was very nice and clean. Would stay here again.

Sarah (8/5): Family Trip for Medical Reasons - The bed was comfortable. Internet access and food options were good as well. The hotel was clean for the most part, with an exception being in the hallway towards the elevator. The employees were kind and helpful. Of note, there was some sort of wedding or event going on. Some of the guests were quite noisy, including ip to 3-4 in the morning. The staff took care of this promptly once I called the front desk. Overall, we were pleased with our stay.

wjl2go (6/5): Overly pet friendly facility - My husband & I reserved a "high floor" room (also verified as the "pet free floor") of the Hyatt Cottonwood. Of all the local hotels, this was the only one we could find that offerred a "pet free zone" within the hotel. Unfortunately for me, our 4th floor room didn't prevent exposure to significant levels of allergens & pesky insect (flea?) bites. I was absolutely miserable by the time we checked out in the morning, stuffy-itchy-irritated. If you also suffer from dog allergies, I do not suggest you stay here, even if you reserve "pet free" as we did.

Rachel (10/5): Great Place to Stay! - I really enjoy staying at Hyatts, and the Cottonwood location was no exception. It was nice, clean, and quiet--but really impressed me was the excellent staff. The front staff were SO kind and friendly. They helped me with some printing and greeted me like family. I would 100% stay at this location again.

tribuckblessed (8/5): Nice hotel, but had some disappointments at this price level - This hotel is very nice, friendly, helpful, and modern. The rooms are spacious and clean and everything (refrig, shower, wifi, etc) worked well. Breakfast is your standard fare of hot and cold options. However, we were still disappointed in the lack of a few basic things at this price level. The biggest, and what definitely earned this hotel a 4 rating instead of a 5, was no microwave in the room. This is a big incovenience since we couldn't warm things up, especially their lukewarm coffee served in the morning. Other minor things about the room, but still inconvenient items were the lack of towel rods in the bathroom and no full length mirror. One other disappointment was our experience with their bar and "restaurant." We were at first quite excited to have this available, but when we went to use it, the "restaurant" is mostly premade things that don't even meet the standards of bar food, and you could NOT get a drink at the bar without ordering food on the menu! That is probably due to liquor laws in Utah, but it was frustrating nonetheless. If those types of things don't bother you at this price level, then this is a great hotel.
Sara (7/5): It was an ok stay - The location was great, bed was comfy the pillows not so much It was very noisy with doors and ppl beside and above. The bed was comfy but the pillows were horrible had to go buy new pillows. Staff was not the greatest and seemed like we were a burden when asking questions besides the staff member at check out was quite nice.

Thomas (10/5): Awesome stay - Went for a family outing for 2 nights. Hotel was super nice. It was clean and not worn down. We had a great time hanging out by the pool and the hot tub. Breakfast was good too. 100% would come back and recommend it to anyone.
