Guest Reviews
- Uliana (10/5): - Easy to find and excellent location !!!!
- Abel (8/5): - Nice area near to public transport and shops. Staff are friendly.
- Julie (10/5): - Small room but very clean and good location.
- Amin (8/5): - Friendly & welcoming staff, very convenient location, the only problem very Poor WiFi system …
- Ewa (4/5): Not worth the hassle - No working shower and smell of damp so off putting. The only good thing was location. Overall not worth the money.
- Michele ilagan (4/5): - The pictures make it seem bigger than what it really as but as most hotels in France, all spaces in this hotel is small. The pictures make it seem they have spacious spaces but in reality they were matchboxes rooms, starting from the lift that was less than half a meter deep, the bathroom which i had to be a contortionist to use. The only positive is the rate but i don’t think i got my money’s worth for it.
- Bridget (8/5): - Very friendly and helpful staff. Hotel is basic but was sufficient for myself. Air conditioning was a must and worked perfectly I would return. .
- Christopher (6/5): - Staff and service was excellent. The position of the toilet did mean you had to sit on it sideways, and the showers temperate had a mind of its own, quickly fluctuating between very hot and cold. I would supervise children in the shower with its quick change in temp.
- Kyara (8/5): - Convenient location, friendly staff, close to public transport and clean. Was a small space but had everything I needed.
- Lola (10/5): - Great staff - so helpful! Small but clean room with a great location
- Jaan (8/5): - Much better than expected. I had a room for three people on one of the higher floors and everything was great. the walls really are thin, but all people in surrounding rooms were respectful and kep the noise down, my guests and I all had a good night sleep. Both men at the reception were very friendly and helpful. The condition of the hotel could be better and some small things were lacking, but overall this hotel is great for a short stay.
- Wess (10/5): - Decent hotel for the price, room is a bit small but pretty good for a short stay.friendly and very helpful personnel.
- Callum (6/5): - Bathroom was tiny but a recommend staying there was ideal location close to everything can’t complain atall staff where friendly
- Grace (2/5): - The room so small, hair dryer broken, shower door not closing properly, but it’s in the heart of nice close to cafes, restaurants and shopping district.
- PAUL SUDEEP (2/5): - The air conditioner did not work and made my stay very uncomfortable
- Sue (6/5): - Great location and great staff. Property is outdated and elevator is tiny. The rooms are relatively small and the bathroom area is tiny. You can’t move around and have to have the door open so you can have some space to move.
- Imasha (6/5): - The property is located with good proximity to Jean Medicin street in Nice and Nice Ville station. An opportunity exist to improve the guest stay if they included a jug, tea cups and tea spoons.
- Alexander (4/5): - Not good property. I will not recommend to stay in this hotel. I stay for 1 week in May 2025.
- Jessica (8/5): Great location but some inconveniences - Well-located, friendly staff. Breakfast definitely worth the charge. WiFi was wonky at best, which was frustrating. My room door wouldn’t close unless I used the key to turn the handle, again, frustrating. Shower was a good size but the toilet was angled into the bathroom in a way that made things difficult.
- Loretta (8/5): - Small rooms, thin walls but excellent location which is close to the shops and the train station. Reception staff are friendly.
- Rosen (8/5): - All
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The bathroom had a toilet placed in the corner at an awkward angle, making it very difficult to sit comfortably. The window was single-pane, so street noise continued until 1–2 a.m., making it hard to sleep.
There were no tissues in the room, and the blankets were dirty. Not happy with our stay.
- Liv (6/5): - I recently stayed at this hotel and had a mixed experience. On the positive side, the staff were very friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The location was also great—close to public transport and major attractions, which made getting around easy.
However, there were a few downsides. The air conditioning in my room didn’t work, which made the nights quite uncomfortable. Additionally, there weren’t enough pillows provided, there was 1 per person that was pretty flat.
One major issue was the lift—it was extremely small, with a weight limit of only 225kg. It could barely fit two average-sized people, which was quite inconvenient, especially with luggage.
Overall, the hotel has potential thanks to its staff and location, but it needs some improvements in amenities and facilities to make it a truly comfortable stay.
- Bolor (2/5): - There was no internet service in the room.
I would assume it should be part of the hotel service but people who worked at the front desk didn’t care and said to use an internet service in main lobby downstairs. I checked to see if it will works when I checked in and then later in the evening but I didn’t work. Two separate staff members who worked in the afternoon and evening said that this is big hotel and we have a lot of guests using the internet services right and that’s why it is not working. I was shocked and speechless.
- Garry (10/5): - Right from check-in staff were pleasant and helpful. The hotel was an easy walk to and from the train station and the walk along the water and through the old town were nearby. Shopping was close by.
- Sheikh Danial (8/5): - The only faults were the shower temperature that would suddenly go really hot or cold multiple times within a shower, and that you could essentially here everything happening outside of your room, so if you’re a light sleeper, I wouldn’t recommend.
Besides this, the staff we friendly, hotel was very clean, its perfect area wise to go anywhere (e.g., 30 mins to Monaco via train).
- Andrea (10/5): - Hotel is excellent located, everything is less than 10min walk, super clean and has all the facilities
- Shirona (10/5): - Very friendly and accommodating staff. Super close to city center by walk. Easy access to train and bus. The beds were a little harder than I am used to but I was able to manage.
- Vongai Vanessa (6/5): - The internet was slow and I don’t think the rooms were soundproof but the room cleaning service was good and location was convenient. The hotel didn’t necessarily answer to emails
- John (10/5): - It is in the center of the city surrounded be shopping options and attractions
- Catherine Louise (10/5): - Overall a great stay, staff very helpful and friendly, room was spotless, fresh towels everyday, TV worked! It's just off the main street which is a bonus for some but has it's drawbacks, it was quite noisy as there is a bar on the same street which was busy well into the wee hours and I could hear EVERY noise from the room next door as the walls are very thin. But it wouldn't put me off staying again, I'd just pack ear plugs! Overall a great stay and I would recommend this hotel.
- Rachael (10/5): Excellent stay - Excellent stay. Very friendly, helpful and professional staff 24/7 on desk. The room was lovely and perfect for a solo stay very clean and had great amenities. The location was perfect off Jean Medicin the main high street in Nice and 10/15 min walk to Old Town and sea front.
- Gabriel (4/5): Good location, limited comfort - Small room on the 1st floor with a bathroom where I barely fit on the toilet. The room's window was looking inside the courtyard, but much of the view is air-conditions equipment all around. Room doors are impossible to close without loud bang, so some neighbours woke me up a number of times in the night. That said, the location is great, not far from the train station and in the middle of the shopping and living are (Coer Nice) and the reception staff were friendly.
- Chi (10/5): - convenient location, close to public transports, staff are very nice and helpful.
- Najah (8/5): - It’s small but clean enough I think. Toilet is small. Wouldn’t suggest it for tall people and big people. You will find it uncomfortable. Might not be able to shut the door when sitting on the toilet. We are only there for a short stay so it’s ok for the price. Location is great with lots of dining options and good walk to the beach.
- Jennifer (8/5): - Location
- Verified traveler (2/5): BED BUGS - BED BUGS
No sleep due to disgusting conditions.
I want a refund immediately otherwise photos and videos of the bed bugs will be shared on social media platforms to warn other guests of the dangers.
- Emily (2/5): - The room did not look like the pictures. The bed was gross and looked like it wasn’t washed. Check for bed bugs. The room smelled like the sewer and we had to put a trash can over the shower drain to block the smell. I asked for a fresh towel because mine was gross and had holes and they wouldn’t give us one. The bathroom shower curtain was moldy and the shower water was all over the bathroom. The location was good but don’t expect much from here.
- Lauren (4/5): - The hotel was in a perfect location and the staff were very pleasant.
However my partner and I are covered in bites, potentially flea or bed bug bites the latter seems more plausible as it was each morning we woke up with new bites.
- Amin (10/5): - Very convenient place to stay, friendly helpful staff.
- Patricia (6/5): - Good for the station. Pretty basic but the staff were friendly and helpful.
- Paula (6/5): - It’s almost like a youth hostel. Streets are dirty.
- Verified traveler (2/5): not as advertised - they lie about the room size on your site and you dont hold them accountable so its your fault not theirs
- Qiong (8/5): - central location with great transport links
- Lee (8/5): Value for money in an expensive city - For the price and location it is value for money. It is definitely a 2* hotel though. Receptionist very polite, jovial & helpful. Toon was clean & tidy albeit dated. It is an old building, as you’ll see. It did the job. It’s not a hotel to linger in its purely functional.
- Bing (8/5): - Great hotel and the staff helps arrange the tour to nearby cities. Close to the train station and lots of dinning choices nearby. The room is petite size but affordable.
- bryant (6/5): - Front desk staff wasn’t the nicest. Upon checkout, I asked if I could leave my bag while I waited for my train and the front desk person gave me so much attitude and said “wow everyone wants to leave their bag” and then started slamming things around.
- Genevieve (10/5): - 10-20 minute walk to everything I wanted to see in Nice. Just what I was looking for
- Suet Lai Juliana (8/5): - location is very good.
room is clean
receptionists are friendly
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Worse than expected
- Gisele (8/5): - Great staff but room is small. It was even hard to use the toilet due to its placement. Location is great.
- Eleanor (8/5): - Quick checkin, hotel is within walking distance to train station.
- Benjamin (4/5): - The room was sufficient for sleeping and showering. We asked for a non-smoking room when booking, the room we received smelt like an ash trey.
They must wash their towels and bedding in vinegar because it all reeked if it.
Not completely in the hotels control but the first night we stayed guests in the hotel started playing very loud music with base at about 1:00am - staff phoned them and it was turned off.
The second night a group of girls came in drunk and were yelling in the hallway about 3:00am. I had to go and ask them to be quiet as front counter staff hadn't.
- sandro (8/5): - clean, friendly staff, compared to price very good
- ying nuo (6/5): - not too bad
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Have stayed in this hotel before so I am familar with the area. Man on main desk was helpful & friendly as well remembered me. Wi-Fi wasn’t the best, signal was weak so didn’t use in the end.
- Bill (2/5): Misleading advertisement - The room was not comparable to the one shown on the Hotels.com website. They moved us to another room, which wasn’t comparable either. We checked out the next morning and moved to a hotel that met our expectations. The reception clerk at hotel Ostendo said that they would authorize a refund for the other nights we did not stay.
- Del-Burt (6/5): - For what it is and what you pay, it is good. If you are plus size, or have large luggage make sure you book the larger rooms on the lower floors. Lift is small, and my room I had to sit diagonally to use the toilet. Great location. Very little sound proofing. Hallway traffic and talking is very noticeable and I could hear the couple next in the next room to the extent that I knew if mouths, hands or privates were being used and on who.
- Adekolajo (10/5): - Really nice stay at the Hotel D Ostend, really nice dinner At restaurant across the street, had breakfast at cafe about a minutes walk away… also got some things from a corner store close by, really nice experience… everything you need is literally a few steps away…
- Warren (8/5): - Was ok for a 1 or 2 day stop. Fantastic location near lots of amenities, but very small, a bit rough around the edges and the TV didn't work.
- Roland (6/5): - Warm welcome, upstairs accomm with lift, basic accom-no coffee / tea facilities but can ask to microwave cup water, fridge, but toilet facilities good, clean, quiet, excellent location, Tram 2 close for airport. Enjoy 🙂
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent little hotel near the train station. The room we were given was spacious enough and clean. The bathroom was fresh and clean and had sufficient supplies. The only gripe is the sound-proofing which is close to absent. You can hear all the noises from the street as well as the stairs where guests were coming in and going out.
- Branislav (6/5): Not great not terrible - Location of this Hotel is exacelent. Very close to the train station. Hotel was clean but the room was very small for 3 people. Separate toilet and shower was very unusual. The worst was wifi and when we needed hot water for a first night we needed to contact reception to fix it.
Overall 3/5.
- Mateusz (8/5): - Great location, good place for few days in town, friendly crew, clean place. Unfortunately the walls are very thin and you can hear absolutely everything.
- cuu (8/5): - Close to train station
- Amin (10/5): - Helpful friendly staff, excellent location, clean & tidy, the only problem with the property, it has a terribly slow WiFi that keeps cutting off.
- Nandakumar (4/5): - Convenient to the Nice-Ville and the tourist area. Small rooms with limited facilities.
- Katelyn (8/5): - Hard to find but staff was nice and helpful !
- Lucy (4/5): - Not sure what I expected from a 2 star hotel… The bathroom was so small you couldn’t even sit straight on the toilet but on the plus side it was clean even though the towels had a weird smell. Was disappointed when our flight was delayed 4 hours and we got to the hotel at 1.30am to get given keys to 2 rooms that already had people in which we felt awful waking them up. On the 3rd attempt we finally got into an empty room but going up and down 3 flights of stairs after already being exhausted wasn’t fun and to find the air conditioning not on and took ages to come on didn’t exactly help us get to sleep!
- Sander (10/5): - The hotel gracefully accommodated a late check-in for us, and was a perfect stop-over on our way home. After six hours on a bus, all we wanted was a hot shower and a soft bed, and they delivered.
- Brooke (8/5): - I had a wonderful time, the staff were very welcoming and accomodating and my room was very comfortable.
- Teodora (8/5): - Didn’t like that there was no safe in the room or a vent in the washroom
- Donna (10/5): - Very basic room but very clean and well kept that is all you need while in Niece on budget staff every shift different (front desk ) and very helpful great little place to stay would do it again while in Niece oh and price was great hope they can keep it .
- Caitlin (8/5): - Really great location, right off of one of the main shopping streets in Nice and a 4 minute walk to the train station. The room was very basic, which was all we needed. However, the bathroom in our room smelled like sewage for our entire stay which was extremely unpleasant. Good value for money, except for that odour.
- Sierra Cheyenne (10/5): - Great! Perfect for a quick stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good short stay budget option - A good value budget hotel near the station with all facilities needed plus nice staff. Bathroom very small but functional. Sound proof between rooms bit poor.
- Sam (6/5): - Hotel was good enough. We travelled with a 6 month old baby and a laden pram, unfortunately the lift was too small for the pram and our room was on the top floor. This meant a lot of trips in the lift and up the stairs. If you're travelling light, it might be less of an issue. The receptionist didn't seem keen to help or offer assistance either.
The room itself was small so again it was an issue for us but not if you're travelling light. The walls were quite thin as well, so you could easily hear other guests though them.
Overall, it wasn't a great hotel but for the price it was alright as you can spend an awful lot more to stay in Nice.
- Christopher (8/5): - This hotel says it's between the station and the sea, but it is 5 minutes from the station and 25 from the sea. It's very nice and clean and good value.
- Kent (8/5): Good for budget traveler - Location is very convenient-close to transportation (main train station/tram), restaurants and grocery.
Clean but not spacious
As for comfort, the aircondition in Rm 108 was not working well and the room despite registering a temp of 18C is still not cool
- David (8/5): Great value! - Great value, great location right in the middle of the main shopping district of Nice, nice clean en-suite room, friendly helpful staff. What's not to like!
- Amin (10/5): - Excellent & convenient hotel to stay, easy access to absolutely everywhere with very friendly helpful staff.
- Emil (8/5): Weekend in Nice and Cannes - Very good, clean and well located hotel. Bed is comfortable, bathroom is clean. Staff is friendly. The room looking at the back has no noise problem. Everything is good, the price acceptable. Will be back, all the best
- Ryan (8/5): - Friendly staff, happy to stay past midnight to check in. Able to leave bags during the day
Good location for the train station and main area
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good stay in central Nice - Good friendly staff who helped pick out places to visit in the area and have advice on travelling to Monaco. The room was a good size and has the basic essentials - no complaints. Would stay again.
- Lucas (6/5): Not good - For the price I paid, Hotel Ostende presented a small cost benefit. The bedroom was uncomfortable and really small. Also, the shower was broken and the towel a bit dirty.
- Gisele (8/5): Ok - Good hotel
- Farnaz (10/5): Great location and wonderful staffs - It is what is advertised. People at reception are amazing: polite, helpful and kind.
- Haig (8/5): - everything ok. great friendly staff, close to shopping and the beach.
- Bagan Gidersoy (2/5): Very very bad hotel - Central location, but a very dirty hotel, there is no resemblance to the hotel in the pictures, the pictures are completely lying, the bathroom is very dirty, there are cigarette burns on the bedspreads, the toilets are very dirty, the window of the non-public toilet closed cardboard.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Iliked thefact that they let me check in early. The staff was great to deal with.
- Burooj (2/5): Not well - Very smal room compair with the pris and stars
- David (8/5): Affordable and Central Location - Pretty run down hotel.
Front of house stafff were very nice.
Room was large. Doonahs and pillows had some old cigarette burns.
Shower head not secured properly.
- T. (4/5): - the area was good, centrally located but that's it. not suitable for human beings. the rooms are tiny and not comfortable.
the staff though was pleasant and courteous
- Verified traveler (10/5): Unforgettable trip in Nice! - The staff was very friendly and helpful. They were polite, approachable and professional. They were speaking English language very well, so we could communicate without difficulty. My last day in Nice there was a strike of means of transport. The person at the reception informed me about that and arranged a taxi to the airport for me, after having my consent. It was much cheaper than taking a taxi by myself. Thank you all!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Value for money, great stay, clean and comfortable
- Tony (8/5): Great Location - Superb vfm
Staff very helpful and friendly
Hotel clean and tidy
Location close to station made exploring whole Region easy
Close to main artery of Nice and beach 15 minutes easy walk.
- Hans (4/5): - Stayed for one night just to catch a train in the morning. Hotel staff were friendly and nice. Room was extremely small and not well lit at all. Very dark inside. Bathroom was small. Overall.. cheap hotel but not worth staying more than a night.
- B (8/5): Short stay only 1 night. - Helpful staff on desk. Room was fine neighbouring room guests were very noisy into early hours of morning as walls didn't suppress noise well. Beds comfortable and close location to Train station.
- Rez (4/5): Nice staff but very noisy - The staff were very nice and helpful. The hotel is very close to the train station, Jean Médecin ave. and 15min walk to the beach and Promenade des Anglais but it’s rather expensive. Very noisy as there doesn’t seem to be any insulation between rooms and the corridors. It was like I was in a hostel but nobody could see me!! First night it was so noisy I woke up at 3AM as some of the guests came back. It was interesting you couldn’t tell which side the noise was coming from.
The lift is so tiny. I was glad I’d lost so much weight so I could fit in the lift.
- Gabriela (8/5): Near nice downtown - Great place
