- Anne (9/5): - I'd recommend Follansbee Inn. I like the friendly atmosphere and the decor. The staff were helpful. The surrounding countryside was stunning when it snowed today. I enjoyed watching football at the Flying Goose. The bed wasn't the best for my back. I'd wished there was water in my room as it's a big trek from the third floor to first floor bar. It'd have been great to have a little cookie or fruit in the afternoon other than chocolate. These are minor wishes. Enjoyed my stay.

- Janet (9/5): Comfortable and quiet - very quiet location on a small lake. Breakfast was wonderful and chatting with other guests was enjoyable. We stayed in a small room but the accommodation was comfortable and cozy. Highly recommend for a calming weekend getaway. A few more selections for breakfast. I am sure if we asked they would have been able to have accommodated our preferences. It was a first stay in a B and B so we need to be more knowledgeable of the ins and outs of B and B's.

The Innkeepers pay attention to every detail.There are no TVs, but internet is good.Guests interact after dinner and they eat breakfast family stlye. Breakfast is in an amazing dining room and the table is beautifully set. Breakfast is great! The place is peaceful and casual. If you are looking for action, North Sutton, NH is not a good choice, but the f Follansbee Inn is an authentic old New E gland property. JB

Denis und sein Team zaubern in der Küche jeden Morgen authentische Köstlichkeiten für die Gäste. Kezar Lake lädt ein zu einer Paddeltour oder einer Umrundung mit dem Fahrrad; ein herrliches Naturerlebnis. Und das Beste: Follansbee Inn stellt alles ohne Extrakosten bereit. - Mark (10/5): - Stayed here several times. For my money, Dennis & Kendall run the loveliest inn in New Hampshire. There may be more luxurious places to stay in the region, but if you are looking for a classic New England inn with charm in a beautiful location, this is the place. And Dennis’s Cajun- influenced breakfasts can’t be missed.

From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and at home. One of the absolute highlights was the access to kayaks and bikes, which allowed us to fully enjoy the beauty of Kezar Lake. Another standout was the incredible homemade breakfast in the morning. Everything was fresh, thoughtfully prepared, and absolutely delicious—hands down one of the best breakfasts we've had at any inn or B&B. The inn itself is charming and full of character, and the hospitality was warm and genuine. Chocolate snacks! Roomy bathroom. Grace, the dog! Our bed could have been a bit more comfy, and the overhead fan didn't have a low enough setting for us.

- Mirela (10/5): What a gem!!! - Such a beautiful, historical place, built in 1840, but maintained so well by Dennis and Kendall. There are so many pieces of art and antique ones throughout the inn! The dinning room is like a museum on its own, and the food served there by Dennis is a rare find in a inn. We were served Lorraine quiche cooked to perfection, and maple glazed potatoes, oats baked with berries, fresh cherries and kiwi. The food was delicious! The rooms are clean and beautifully decorated. Also, the inn provides canoes, kayaks and bikes. We canoed on Kezar Lake in front of the inn. Very enjoyable! We will definitely stay here again if we are in the area.

It sits on a beautiful lake with a very walkable path around it ! Just a dream ! The breakfast was over the top! Totally Gourmet !!And we found the best coffee shop in Warner, NH. It was in the inn's book of recommended coffee shops. Cafe One East has the best bakery and lattes. With good coffee, we had everything There is a need for some maintenance in some of the rooms. No leaks, no water problems. Just little nuisance items like the bracket that connects the shower curtain to the ceiling was very very loose. A small issue. Overall, we LOVED our stay!!

A gourmet breakfast was served each day with nice options for gluten-free and dairy-free dietary restrictions. The innkeepers, Denis and Kendall, are so gracious and accommodating! The rooms are each distinctive and comfortable. The location on the lake is wonderful and they offer kayaks, etc for patron use. The building is beautiful and very well maintained. The outside and inside common areas are comfortable and beautiful. They are very accommodating and helped us with whatever we needed. The bathroom in our room was very small, but kind of expected in an old building. There is really nothing not to like when they provide bowls of chocolate for you at every turn!

Great lakeside location - perfect for a pre-breakfast dip. Our room was very warm and airless. The air conditioning brought the temperature down to a bearable level, but was too noisy to have on all night.

Roomy, 5 windows, crisp ironed sheets on a very comfortable bed, lush absorbent towels and plenty of closet space to keep our bags from reminding us we were only visiting. So relaxing. Needed to do some “Work” in am so antique Desk and reliable WiFi made that possible Denis and Kendal, Innkeepers, do Unique, Delicious breakfast each morning. 4 mornings no repeats. Fun yet Gourmet in quality. Handmade, fresh and delicious.
- 388MatthewG (10/5): Lovely rural inn/bed and breakfast with special charm! - This is just so nice. We felt like we were visiting relaxed family right away. Friendly people, both the guests and the staff. People passing around a guitar and enjoying a fire, having drinks and eating a snack. Lovely old building, tastefully updated where it makes it more comfortable, yet retaining the character that makes this so wonderful. And the breakfast! The second morning I felt it worth it to cheat on my diet! No two rooms are alike. The whole place is filled with lovely antiques. Walk around the lake. People were out ice fishing while we were there. Except for a short walk we stayed inside most of the time. Always someone to talk to (if you want) or read in a nice nook somewhere. No televisions (I view this as a plus) yet fast free wifi. Our particular room had a jacuzzi, which my wife enjoyed. It was well heated everywhere we explored in this huge old house. Alas, not suitable for those with wheelchairs or difficulty climbing stairs. We'll be back, for sure!

We had a quick get away to the lovely Follensbee Inn on Lake Kearsarge in NH. Great relaxing by the fireplace or the wood stove. Loved a amazing breakfast on the beautifully set tables. Fun talking with other guests. The inn is 180+ years old but very updated. Warning: no TV in the building -I thought I would be unhappy about it but it was so nice to turn out the world and rest. There is great WIFI so we peaked at the morning news. The owners are friendly and helpful. Their two dogs are elderly and loving. Breakfast was self serve with many choices. There was a refrigerator, microwave, and bar for guests to use-- other guests brought food for a meal -- great idea. There is lots to do there all year round at the inn. We stayed in because of the extreme cold and wind. Rooms: they are all lovely and about the same size. Very clean. Warning: there were two big candy bowls filled with temptation!! We hope to return.

We spent our evening’s fireside, next to a fresh Christmas Tree in the living room enjoying conversation with other guests. A Special Shout Out to the family from “Philly”. Who we learned are also repeat guests. Thank you for your engaging and enjoyable conversations. But, no two people and their 2 dogs are more engaging or Welcoming than Innkeepers Denis, Kendall, Angel and Grace. Wow, from Early Morning till Late Evening they provide a Warm hospitality 2nd to none. From their Amazing Breakfast(s) to keeping the late evening fireplace warming the living room, They are the gems of this Inn. Our room, this time, was “Jennifer”. A second floor suite. Spacious, comfortable, spotlessly clean and beautifully furnished. The King bed provided relaxing, peaceful sleep each of our 3 nights. Full bath in room. We have booked our next stay already!

It’s very slippery and the tub is a little high to get in especially for shorter and elderly people. I slipped and slid while taking a shower but thankfully it was a slow fall on my bum so no injury occurred. Some guests may not be as lucky.

As a bonus, the trees surrounding peaceful Kezar Lake were at peak fall foliage in mid-October. We will definitely be back!

- patricial264 (10/5): A Change of Plans - I booked the Follansbee Inn simply because it was only 45 minutes from Manchester airport and was to be a gateway to our Vermont vacation. However, after staying there for 2 nights we changed the Vermont trip to the New Hampshire trip and spent several more days there. Why? It had everything we liked- Picture perfect New England setting with a graveyard across the road and a white steepled church to boot, outstanding breakfasts, bikes to ride around the gorgeous lake, hiking nearby, comfy beds, good restaurants in New London, nice people to meet - I could go on and on. Our room was the Kristin with a separate seating area. When you wake up, right there is the view of the placid lake . Everyone we met was so nice. We will definitely be coming back and almost all the guests we spoke with had been to the inn many times. I just smile thinking about our stay.

- RecentlyThere-31 (10/5): Totally Enjoyed this stay. - We have visited Follansbee Inn several times. This stay again didn’t disappoint. First time in room “Mimi”, perfect. While a bit more compact than other rooms we have stayed in, it was charming, comfortable and relaxing. Breakfast was outstanding and delicious each of our four mornings. Evenings in the lounge/living room, where we got to meet and enjoy other guests, only added to the relaxation.

Dennis and his team, including canine crew Angel and Grace, welcomed us to the inn with a quick tour. The vibe is chill and confortable. We enjoyed hanging out in the light-filled common spaces, relaxing on the lovely front porch and at the dock, walking around the lake to see the fall colors, and taking out kayaks, canoes and stand-up paddle boards. Our rooms were confortable and breakfast was delicious! We highly recommend the Follansbee Inn.

First, the breakfasts are phenomenal with Southern touches - all time, best ever, no question. Second, the clean, quiet, calm small lake it sits on with every personal watercraft possible available. Third, the comfortable, pretty and well-maintained rooms with views. Fourth, the common area with shared kitchen, sitting area and games parlor. Fifth, the eclectic and fun decorations - antique statuettes, modern and antique paintings. The inn is in the middle of a beautiful section of NH near Mt. Kearsarge with nearby golf courses, hiking, pubs, restaurants and shopping.

We enjoyed a long weekend with friends, hiking, biking, kayaking, paddle boarding, etc. So much to do and the weather was perfect for it all. I wished we could have stayed longer! A special mention of the incredible breakfasts that were offered. Like no other breakfasts anywhere we have stayed before (and we have traveled A LOT!). Their house blend coffee is just the icing on the cake. We most definitely look forward to returning again soon!
