• Vania (6/5): Hotel was nice but obviously short staffed and they really should advertise the pool hours as being so limited - Clean nice area The pool was one reasons we chose this property it was only open from 5pm-9pm and when we say 9pm I mean at 8:59 the lifeguard told us it was closed. We asked for sheets and pillows for the pull out Couch at 8:15 at 10:30 when mu kids finally fell asleep the weren’t there despite 2 phone calls and you also had to sign up for their hotel reward program to use the wifi

• ishei34 (6/5): Not what I expected from Residence Inn hotels. - I stayed at this hotel for over a week and it doesn't measure up to other Residence Inn hotels I've stayed at in other countries. The hotel seems to be poorly maintained and the room we stayed in had a leaking faucet in the kitchen area. There also wasn't a hot water pot like other hotels have to boil water for tea. The windows don't open so ventilation is very poor and the rooms get stuffy since the vent in the bathroom doesn't exhaust the air. Residence Inns are supposed to be for longer stays where you can prepare meals in the room, but they have only one stock pot, sauce pan, and a frying pan, making only very simple meals of reheating frozen foods from the store possible. Don't expect to be able to cook much in the poorly equipped kitchen. In the morning, the breakfast is very simple and consists of packaged food. Nothing is cooked from scratch like you would at home, only food taken out of frozen packages and heated. Even the "scrambled" eggs are prepared from egg powder and water. Given the high nightly price of this hotel, I am quite disappointed by the room and hotel.

You’re expecting a quiet environment and they stay standing by the tables speaking Spanish extremely loud. Also, why isn’t there pancakes every day anymore, that was a bummer, my kids love the pancakes and they only have during the weekend now.
• Mary E (10/5): Well-appointed, Family-friendly Hotel - I've stayed here multiple times now with family. My teens love coming to this hotel! Clean, comfortable, spacious rooms. Front desk staff are all friendly and helpful. The breakfast area is clean & pleasant, with friendly, attentive serving staff and a decent variety of items on offer. Great location within easy walking distance to the Metro, restaurants & grocery store. Plenty of parking in the garage - not so with other comparable hotels in the area. Already looking forward to my next visit!

• Gsocash12 (10/5): Best Hotel In Area - Former Ballston Resident - Incredible experience at a residence inn. By far, the nicest I’ve ever stayed. This is my second time staying here, I used to live next door at The View and I like staying here when I’m back in the area. Peter at the front desk is extremely kind, hardworking, and efficient. Highly recommend this spot - the breakfast is really good too - with plenty of space to work (& play).

Very easy to check in and check out. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. The room size was good, but the fridge was making some noise. Kitchen equipment wasn't clean. I would use them at all. No housekeeping, we have to do our bed and minor cleaning and request extra towels. Location was very good, close to the playground and other attractions.

• Zachary (8/5): - My family stayed for a week. The staff and customer service were excellent. Literally, some of the best customer service I’ve experienced in a hotel stay. The hotel room we had an electrical issue which prevented us from using the outlets to charge our phones unless the light was on. Now keep in mind, our room also had master electrical switches, which is weird for a hotel room. Nonetheless, the pool was great. It was cold, but once you got used to it, it was no big deal. They have a lifeguard on site, which is cool I suppose. There’s also a splash pad across the street, which my kids loved. There’s a playground also, and lots of different eating options within walking distance. The breakfast was alright. It wasn’t anything to brag about, but it fed the family. The WiFi works well, and we didn’t pay for the up charge.

• Rajul (10/5): July 4th vacation - We visited Washington DC on July 4th and stayed at residence inn. The hotel is well located, great places to eat in walking distance, very clean and spacious. We had a family suite with 2 queen beds. The room clean, sizeable. Breakfast was good limited variety though. Kids enjoyed swimming pool The staff was friendly. Certainly will return.

• Amanda (2/5): - After booking our suite in Oct '24 and confirming it (and the availability of a kitchen to cook for our food-allergy kid) in Dec. '25, we received an EMAIL on the MORNING OF our check-in (May 23) that they had double-booked (blamed Expedia) and could not give us that suite. Thankfully, I saw the email and called them. They offered us an acceptable alternative (two rooms, but nearby and with a full kitchen), which we took, only to receive a call a few hours later (30 minutes before we were leaving on the 7.5 hour drive to D.C.) This time they told us that their "sales department" wouldn't give us those accommodations either, and offered us two separate rooms without the kitchen space/amenities needed, and assured me that they were doing us a "favor" by moving things around so that we could stay there in spite of the error. By the grace of God we found another hotel with the proper amenities and enough beds, but that was difficult on the Friday of Memorial Day weekend. Their blunder could've really ruined a long-planned trip. I then couldn't get them to confirm the refund (they kept stating that it was a busy Friday and they didn't have time to deal with that right then, but it would get taken care of), so I had to call Expedia and they made that happen for us. I wouldn't trust this hotel to be organized enough to guarantee you a room (even when it's been paid for months ahead AND confirmed on the phone with Marriott). It was an absolute mess.

• 676dougk (10/5): A Good Stay at Residence Inn Arlington Ballston - We have stayed here before as they are a few blocks from my daughter's place in Arlington. They have always been very courteous and helpful. One time we came down a few minutes after breakfast had closed and they opened it back up for us. This visit occurred because we were going to an Engagement party nearby. We had made a reservation for a one bedroom room but decided to try to get a two bedroom so that our son and his girlfriend could join us. I called the hotel and was fortunate enough to speak with Angel Canales who is the Operations Manager. He was amazing and upgraded us to a two bedroom suite. It really made the our day. He was away when we were there but had left a note for us....so our check-in with Robert (Bob) was quick and easy. My son and his girlfriend parked their car at the hotel (they have two parking levels) when they arrived so that was convenient too. Breakfast was good: eggs, oatmeal, etc and was available until 9 during the week and 9:30 on weekends...so that worked well for us. The rooms are clean and housekeeping came in once during our stay and freshened everything up...even cleaned some dishes in the sink and put them in the dishwasher. Overall a good place to stay.

• Kzoo50 (10/5): Great Hotel - Great hotel in a nice location, about 10-15 minute walk from the Ballston Metro stop. Breakfast included which is a big plus, friendly staff. Walking distance to dozens of restaurants in the Ballston area, there is a park across the street for kids. Highly recommend the Residence Inn Ballston for stay in Arlington.

• Kyle (4/5): Comfortable but unprofessional - The hotel was clean. The continental breakfast was not satisfactory. It was open until 9:30. We arrived at 8:45 and many things were out and not restocked. My husband asked for cereal. While making waffles they were taking away the batter. When asked to keep it available, they poured it hastily for him and then removed. They then proceeded to lie to the next young man who inquired at 9:15 for the batter and said it was out. The breakfast was cleaned up by 9:15. For the price you pay, this experience should not be happening.

One day we requested them to come and it was 4:30pm they hadn’t showed up, called from desk, the lady came and literally only did the bed and changed the towels, didn’t clean anything.

It had very secure self parking under the hotel ($35 a night but booking direct saved a bit) Don’t bring a large truck as all DC parking is kinda tight. Very clean hotel in all areas. Staff was helpful in every way. Location was about a 10 minute drive to Arlington National Cemetery. Lots of food options right by the hotel and within walking distance. Dominos and Jimmy John’s and Super Pollo were right next door. Breakfast was fine (real eggs but other than that, standard food). Would stay again and would recommend this hotel.
