Guest Reviews
- mattoA8900QI (10/5): Incredible Customer Service - Incredibly friendly staff who go out of their way to take care of their customers. Will definitely be booking again.
- niteicurn0915 (10/5): Snow coach tour - We booked the all day snow coach tour and it was fantastic. Rya was our guide and you could tell her vocation is teaching. She was able to tell us so much history of the park and all the animals we were able to see. Buffalo, Wolf, Coyote, along with a tour of the thermals and Old Faithful. Going in the winter was also a great time, since there was hardly any people in the park. We were able to keep moving after see certain attractions without getting held up in a traffic jam for 2 hours.
Highly recommend going during this time of year
- TillieAndEarl (10/5): A local gem - This is a lovely place in West Yellowstone, Montana. One of those places where you can park right in front of your room! The bed was comfortable. It’s conveniently located so you can leave your car parked and walk around town.
A special perk for staying here is the free breakfast in their restaurant!! There is an amazing breakfast buffet, so much variety in what was offered!
- martin53614 (10/5): A wonderful stay - Superb location, great service and clean rooms with comfortable beds. Very quiet for a good night's sleep and equipped with everything you might need, including microwave and refrigerator.
We had a minor issue with the TV and the lady at the front desk responded instantly - she was at the door in less than 2 minutes and had the issue resolved in 5 minutes - all of that with a cheerful smile!
The restaurant is everything that all of the glowing reviews say it is and more. The trout stuffed with crabmeat is “to die for".
We hope to be back many more times.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
- Chandler (10/5): - Best hotel breakfast I’ve had by far. The staff was super friendly and helpful, and the room was nice and cozy
- Corrinne (10/5): Great stay! - Really loved my stay at this hotel—fantastic staff, excellent location, and incredibly comfortable overall. The only minor issue was the bath taps, which could use a thorough clean, as some grime came out when first turned on.
Aside from that, everything was great. I highly recommend having dinner and drinks at the hotel’s restaurant and bag—it was a highlight of the stay. I’d absolutely stay here again without hesitation.
- Yanyan (8/5): - We like the breakfast.
- SHELLY (10/5): - Facilities staff and breakfast was amazing
- Jason (4/5): - room shower needs fixed
- Robert (10/5): - Great people very helpful, clean room.

- Storyteller782645 (10/5): Wonderful Experience at the Beautiful Historic Three Bear Lodge - We booked a 3-night 2-day Yellowstone summer tour package through Charlie at 801-787-2530. Our accommodations were at The Three Bear Lodge, and the package included some meals at the Three Bear Restaurant.
Three Bear Lodge: Beautiful historic hotel/motel. Montana furnishings and decor. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The room was clean, large, quiet, and well accommodated with everything we needed. The beds were comfortable and we had plenty of room to spread out and relax. We loved the story of the recovery from the fire and the white shirt story of reusing.
Three Bear Restaurant: The service was fast and friendly. The food was very good. The morning breakfast buffet was large and offered something for everyone. Our favorite evening meal with the chicken-fried steak and the cream of mushroom soup was the best we'd ever tasted. Portion sizes are large, so we often split a dinner.
Grizzly Lounge: Small and friendly with great service. We even ate in the bar one evening. Just a short walk from the Three Bear lodge, making it super easy to just walk home after a few drinks.
- GIRIRAJ (10/5): - Nice warm people. Very conveniently located from the west gate. Will definitely recommend
- John (10/5): - Breakfast buffet was excellent. Room was clean. Hotel location was convenient to restaurants and shopping.
- Carol (8/5): - This was clearly a mom and pop type property and I do love catering to local people. The rooms were clean but the carpet waa a little dated. I will say the room we had was very large and the bathroom was very nice. Shower was hot and strong. No b breakfast at the facility but that wasn't a real problem. Traffic noise was a problem at times but not a deal breaker. I would stay again.
- Andrea (6/5): - Breakfast was excellent. The motel room was subpar with a bad mattress at another street with potholes on the way there. The front of property is cute, but the rooms at the back and the way to those rooms need work.
- Lorne (8/5): - met expectations; friendly staff
- Iris (10/5): - Rooms are comfy and clean. Location excellent, and the breakfast buffet is great
- Satish (10/5): - Breakfast menu was good and staff is very friendlyriendly.
- Daniel (10/5): - A little dated but still a nice stay. Very friendly staff.
- Carie Jo (10/5): - Breakfast is wonderful!! We did run out of hot water which was not good.
- Russell (10/5): - Clean room, nice breakfast buffet, helpful staff
- Howard (10/5): - Best breakfast ever
- westernKs (10/5): Good find! - This was a nice surprise - it is much larger that we expected. Had a clean and quiet room with parking in front, which actually worked great with luggage. The front desk was incredibly helpful with recommendations, and I also needed a copy made. Very good find, pricey, but it was still peak season for Yellowstone.
- Ariel (10/5): - Clean, conveniently located in the heart of town, lots of places to eat and shop after a day inside the Yellowstone park. Great wifi, comfortable beds, room is spacious.
- Richard (10/5): - Perfect for us.
- joy (10/5): - Comfortable beds, loved that breakfast buffet is included, warm friendly customer service, clean hot tubs, lots of shower flow.
- Elaine (10/5): - This was the perfect place to stay while visiting yellowstone. The staff were friendly and helpful and The breakfast was phenomenal
- Lau0529 (8/5): Great lodge ! - Great location , great comfortable beds and very clean. Slept great. Had a breakfast voucher for a nice buffet breakfast at the Three Bears restaurant. We walked everywhere in west Yellowstone . Motel convenient to everywhere in the town .
We were greeted by a very welcoming and accommodating staff. When we went to check out and had a last minute question to get a 30 minute extended check out , the different person was less than friendly and downright abrupt . . Maybe it was a bad day for her , but being that abrupt left us with a less than 5 star rating.
- XIAO (10/5): - Really good!
- Lindsay (4/5): Not the best value - We stayed in one of the motels. The entry door/lock was so far off you had to pull up on the door hard, to lock the door. There were gaps around the entry door. The air conditioning unit made rattling noises constantly.
Nothing stood out good or bad with cleanliness, other than the maid cart being directly outside our room most every day.
Our room was near the dumpsters, so we woke up to those being dumped.
The buffet breakfast was pretty decent. The whole staff could use some training. Basic skills like the hostess greeting you as you approach the "to be seated" area, vs. her staring into her notepad and not acknowledging your presence. We got up to get our own water and hot water refills a few times because our servers were mia.
- mikemC9430YH (10/5): Enjoyable stay - This was a great find and we really enjoyed our time at the three Bear Lodge. Cute quaint and in the middle of everything. It was less than a mile from the west entrance of Yellowstone very comfortable accommodations.
- Naoko (10/5): - Breakfast buffet was excellent.
- John (10/5): - Outstanding in all categories for Three Bears Lodge. Clean, quiet and comfortable. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Anything you could need is nearby.
- Brad (10/5): - Staff was very friendly and helpful. The BEST breakfast buffet of the five places we stayed at this vacation.
- Rosanne (8/5): - Excellent location, breakfast buffet was over the top, bed was comfortable
- Yvonne (10/5): - Authentic western hotel. Loved it.
- Carol (10/5): - We really enjoyed our stay! The breakfast was delicious and the staff was very friendly. Our room was very clean and comfortable. We had easy access to Yellowstone park. The town is charming with several good restaurants and shops within walking distance.
- Cheryl (10/5): - The Front desk personnel were very knowledgeable and extremely friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. We had a problem with the washing machine in the laundry area and maintenance was immediately called and fixed the problem quickly. We have no complaints.
- Margot (8/5): Excellent breakfast - Three Bear Lodge had the best breakfast of the four hotels we stayed at during this trip. The breakfast is served at the hotel's actual restaurant next door, which is very convenient. The buffet had so many options, including various berries, and smoked salmon, along with eggs, bacon, etc. The hotel's location is central, which we also liked. The only challenges were the noise from the other rooms (thankfully I had ear plugs with me), and the light coming in from the window in the door. (We fixed that by putting a couple of hangars of our clothes over it.)
- David (10/5): Time saver - A very convenient location close to the west gate of Yellowstone. An excellent breakfast is included in the room rate.
- Zully (10/5): - Great stay, very comfortable room (double queen beds), friendly staff, and nice location with multiple food options.
- 245lareinac (10/5): PERFECT - My husband and I had a magical time! We came towards the end of June Three Bear Lodge was very cozy right in town minutes away from Eest Yellowstone entrance for the park, but what made it even better was the staff Betsy and Chloe top notch! The restaurant staff were also amazing. Byson Ribeye out of this world!
Highly recommended. Thank you for making our trip PERFECT.
Once a sheep dog always a sheep dog :)

- Howard (10/5): - The property was well kept and the people working there were great , the hotel is in a prime location for shopping and the wolf and grizzly bear discovery center is just around the corner
- Kelly (6/5): Just ok - There was left over food in to go boxes left in the fridge from the previous guest. The room was dark & felt like we were in a basement. The mattress was pretty worn. The room size is good & the sheets & towels were clean. I also liked being able to park at the room. With some effort to brighten the room & a new mattress it could be better. The girl at the front desk was very helpful & knew her job well & the location is great.
- Cindy (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay . Our room was clean and had everything we needed ,and the little town had alot of touristy shops . Quick drive into Yellowstone
- Marvin (10/5): - Conveniently located, clean, kind staff and a really great complimentary breakfast with fruits and salmon
- gailrB3716RU (10/5): great 3 night stay and free breakfast - A three night stay at the Three Bears Lodge was a nice comfortable stay. The room was spacious and we enjoyed the use of the hot tub after hiking in Yellowstone. The hotel is very close to the downtown area and it was easy to walk around the town. There was an added bonus of free breakfast (the buffet was great!) in their attached restaurant which was a great bonus and much appreciated.
- Steffen (8/5): - The staff from the Hotel was friendly and helpful. The Breakfast buffet was plentiful and good. Nationalpark is very close.
- Pamela (10/5): Nice Stay - Three Bear Lodge is very convenient to Yellowstone Park. The downtown area has lots of restaurants and shops. It is an old school motor lodge but quaint none the less. We really enjoyed the buffet breakfast. Lots of options to choose from. Would recommend staying here.
- CaptaintripsMitch (8/5): Wonderful stay at Three Bears Lodge with family of four - Wonderful stay at Three Bears Lodge with family of four including 2 adult children. The folks here really care about your stay and will accommodate any issues you may encounter. Special shout out to Erica at the front desk for her diligence in correcting a minor issue with the room we reserved. The free breakfast is abosutely fantastic and will save you a lot of money and time before heading out to Yellowston NP.
The beds were comfortable and the lodge itself is adorable.
I would highly recommend this property if you're staying in West Yellowstone.
- JoniK534 (8/5): Great Amenities and Location - Since my last stay at the lodge 3 years ago, many things have been upgraded: parking lot repaved and striped, door locks replaced, bathroom updated, swimming pool furniture replaced, and the included breakfast now features a delicious buffet if you don’t want to order off the menu. Excepting ‘20, ‘23 and ‘24, I booked the Three Bear every year since 2015 as there are many different options for different group sizes. It’s my ‘home away from home’ in West and easy access to Yellowstone Park.
- Suzanne (8/5): - The buffet breakfast was great. The motel rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. It was quiet, also.
- Deb (10/5): - We liked everything about this place. It was nice and comfortable
- Owen (10/5): - Very nice.
- Steven (8/5): - The property is clean and well maintained. The staff is friendly and accomodating. The rooms are a bit dated - old USB ports instead of usb-c and the bathroom toilet was a bit cramped, but the room itself had plenty of space. Refrigerator had no freezer so no way to refreeze the cooler ice packs. The location is fantastic and the restaurant is superb.
- Colleen (10/5): Great place to stay - Staff was friendly and helpful!
Breakfast buffet was best anywhere! Location was very convenient to Yellowstone Park.
- Luana (8/5): - The hotel is cute but the rooms are a little outdated. The breakfast was great!! Worth the stay! Right outside the west entrance of Yellowstone.
- Samuel (10/5): - Great place to stay with family. Loved the place.
- TravelingMamaGlv (8/5): Comfy Stay - We returned to the Three Bear Lodge after staying here 11 years ago. We especially like the walkable location to restaurants and excellent breakfast buffet (smoked salmon!) included with our stay. Only downside was that one of two hot tubs was empty and the other one had broken jets.
- Heather (10/5): - Close to park.
- Natalia (8/5): - This motel is close to the Yellowstone entrance, very clean and quiet, nice restaurant good for families.
- Yi (10/5): - Great
- Shuang (10/5): - I am very happy with my stay. Three Bears is an old hotel, but the service is excellent. They provide a very generous breakfast and offer on-time daily room cleaning. The food at the hotel’s restaurant is also delicious.
What touched me most was when I ordered a takeout sandwich — they didn’t charge me a tip or even ask for one, which was a very pleasant surprise. They truly did their best to make our vacation enjoyable.
- H2914ZPjerryb (10/5): Excellent Hotel Near the West Entrance to Yellowstone Natl Park - After driving thru Yellowstone Natl Park all day, we exited the "west" entrance and went directly to the Three Bear Lodge in West Yellowstone, MT (which was only a short drive). We stayed in the lodge (not the motel section) and our room was very clean and accommodating. The shower was excellent too! We then strolled into the town and had dinner at a nice restaurant. The next morning we had a very nice buffet breakfast in the Lodge's restaurant - which was included free with the room. We then checked out (the gals at the front desk were very sweet & cordial) and headed on west to our next stop in Missoula, MT. The Three Bear Lodge was a very pleasant (1 night) experience and we highly recommend it. Thank you very much, Gerard & Megan B.
- Evgenya (10/5): - Greatest breakfast ever!
- Paul (8/5): - The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Air condition in the room was not the best. This place was close to entrance of Yellowstone. Breakfast was great!
- HOON (10/5): - Excellent stay. Clean room and great staff. Best breakfast.
- Colleen (8/5): - Great location! The breakfast buffet included with the room was fabulous!
- Takayuki (10/5): - Good
- Sherrie (10/5): - Loved the decor, very nice and clean, most all staff in the restaurant were very friendly and helpful... one guy seemed to be having a grumpy day but everyone else was excellent, so can't fault the whole facility for one. Excellent hotel and good restaurant.
- Julie (8/5): - Good location and clean property. Nothing fancy. We would stay again.
- jgarr11 (10/5): Amazing hotel! - Absolutely loved our stay here at the lodge! The rooms were very spacious; the beds comfortable; rooms clean! The included breakfast buffet was delicious. The 2 hot tubs were very nice and felt wonderful after a long day! The pool was still too cold for us to swim, but if you are brave enough, the pool and area was nice! We would absolutely recommend staying here!
- james (8/5): Just what we were looking for! - Nice location, good breakfast, friendly staff, nice room, pool, and close to the Yellowstone park entrance. Stayed one night on our way to Yellowstone and it suited our needs perfectly!
- Bruce (10/5): - Check in staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet is outstanding!!!!!
- Matthew (10/5): - Excellent stay!
- Fei (8/5): - The highlight of this motel is undoubtedly its self-serve breakfast — it’s really quite good. The front desk staff were also friendly. However, the cleanliness of the room could use some improvement. When we checked in, we found trash on the floor left by previous guests, which indicates that the housekeeping staff were not thorough or attentive enough.
- Joyce (10/5): - Rooms were large and nicely furnished. Bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. The complimentary buffet was great.
- MichTraveler8 (10/5): Beautiful unique hotel, friendly - We were part of a larger family reunion group, so this hotel was chosen by our extended relatives. What a great choice! It has personality, really embracing its interesting history (including having burned three times in the last 100 years!) and its intentional recycling of beautiful historic logs and fixtures.
We stayed in a 2-bedroom / 3 Queen bed in the Lodge. As long as you’re willing to share the one bathroom, this has a lot of space for your family! The setup is well designed - separate sink outside of the bathroom, as well as the one in with the toilet and bath/shower. We also had a beautiful and enormous balcony over the main street, with four chairs out there. At various points we had 10 or more people out there - not tight at all - it’s really a huge balcony! We watched the people go by - and the stars - and just enjoyed the fresh air and atmosphere… One of the best spots I’ve ever had at a hotel.
We enjoyed how close it was to everything we wanted - the entrance to Yellowstone, lots of food options, grocery store a block away, the heritage park, the historic buildings across the street.
Parking is plentiful and easy. You do have to be able to walk up a flight of stairs for the second floor lodge rooms.
If I go to W Yellowstone again, I would definitely opt for Three Bears (and choose the lodge side again - ).
- Sarah (8/5): Great place! - Very friendly staff and they do old-school DAILY room service here like the pre-covid days. Property is clean and well-maintained. The breakfast is EXCELLENT.
- shachar (8/5): - Good Lodge with incredibly excellent breakfast. The room had a noisy air conditioner.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Staff was excellent, breakfast was wonderful, great parking, amazing location, enjoyed the coffee and cookies in the lobby. Our rooms felt old & could use better pillows but was clean & functional for us. We really enjoyed the stay & would definitely stay again!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Terrific place to stay. Very convenient location.
- Josephine (8/5): - Good breakfast
- Joanne (10/5): - Great hotel
- Pete (10/5): One Night Stay for Yellowstone Park - For a motel, this was better than expected. Super friendly staff from front desk to server at the full buffet breakfast which was wonderful. Comfortable bed and clean place. Could use some updates in bath but it was maintained and clean. Would stay again.
- Yuxin (10/5): - Nice and clean motel, convenient for short stay to enter into Yellowstone National Park.
Free Breakfast buffet in the next door restaurant is a surprise gift for us. It is a awesome one.
- Danielle (10/5): - Great
- Yiteng (10/5): A good choice in West Yellowstone - The experience is much better than I expected. It is a typical yellowstone-style hotel. The room is clean and staffs are friendly. The restaurant is good but a little pricey.
- Debbie (10/5): - Easy access to Yellowstone entrance. Excellent breakfast buffet. Very friendly staff. Would stay here again.
- christine (10/5): - Nothing not to like. Room great staff fantastic.right iin the heart of town
- Cynthia (10/5): - The full breakfast was very good with many choices. Located near the West Yellowstone National Park entrance. Room was cleaned daily. Great stay! We will definitely be back in the future.
- SueZ146 (10/5): A journey back in time. - This is an experience hotel. We loved that it has kept its old time charm. The room was large with hand made furniture, clean, yet a nicely updated bath. The staff were all very pleasant with many years of experience with the location. It's location was within walking distance to shops, restaurants, pubs, and even grocery stores. This is a gem.
- Laura (8/5): - The property was OK...the A/C didn't cool the room very well at all. The beds were comfortable.
- Brandon (10/5): - Three Bears was a great place for our Yellowstone/Grand Teton layover! The Buffalo Bar was recommened by staff and was a good one at that! Would stay here again if in West Yellowstone.
- Hiren (10/5): - Clean room, breakfast
- Maureen (8/5): - The room was cute; and the beds were super comfy. The breakfast buffet included was delicious!! Within walking distance of shops, restaurants, museums and the Grizzly & Wolf Disxovery Center. Great spot!
- Kaitlin (8/5): - The property was very close to the park entrance and also to everything in West Yellowstone. It was great to walk around town. I also enjoyed the breakfast being in an actual restaurant, which had a great spread. The rooms were typical motel rooms, the parking was perfect. The laundry room only had one washer and dryer, with restrictions on hours. The gym didn't open until 8am which was much too late when trying to get to the park early- that was disappointing.
- Michael (10/5): - Outstanding service, property, and location.
- Dana (10/5): - Right downtown. Came with free buffet at their restaurant next door. Had a nice outdoor pool and2 indoor hot tubs.
