• Verified traveler (10/5): - Very quiet hotel with an amazing, professional staff from the security guard, the reception desk, the restaurant, to the people who freshened up the rooms on a daily basis. The reception desk has very caring people, and Miss Vivianne (the owner) is an amazing/genuine person who ensures her guests are given everything they desire and will go off site to obtain it. There are plenty of markets closed by and everything is in walking distance. I’d say this is better than most high end hotels in the area because of the family like treatment the guests received at Allamanda. Everything is superb, cleaned, with amazing interior decoration!

The property was clean, and in a good location with 2 groceries in close walking distance. Also in very close proximity to some great restaurants that we were able to try, in addition to the excellent one on site (we were in Haiti for a 2-week stay so we wanted to try some local restaurants). We will definitely recommend Allamanda Hotel to others that we know traveling to the area!

But, I was pleasantly surprise by the kindness, the extraordinary service, and the care on fulfilling all my request. I will go back to this hotel again for these reasons: - Free Full Hot Breakfast - Free Wi-Fi - Ground transportation for a very minimal fee - Ability to rent a car right on the hotel ground with chauffeur if needed. I thank all the staff and the owner of Allamanda Hotel for all they have done to make my stay amazing and relax.

To be honest, if you are staying in Port-au-Prince, this is really important. A larger hotel would have been an error by missing out on this personal service. We can't recommend this hotel enough. The restaurant/bar area was very good, the rooms were very comfortable, and the hotel in general had a very nice feel.

Everything was outstanding from the arrival until my departure. This hotel is close of markets, restaurants and many places to visit. The hotel owner Madame Viviane is all time inquiring the visitors about their stay and if they can help us. Their taxi agency is one of the best and their navette airport to hotel and hotel to airport is more than appropriate. For my next trip to Haiti, I have no doubt at all that I will again reserve at Allamanda Hotel. Thank you to all of you for this fantastic week without any problems. You are the best.

• Breelyn (8/5): Perfect hotel in Petionville! - My husband and I along with a friend stayed here for one night last week. We had originally booked one room with 2 beds, but when we arrived they informed us unfortunately they didn't have that room available. They were extremely accommodating and offered us 2 single rooms at no extra charge. Everyone was extremely hospitable, and the owner even came over to chat with us while we were at the attached restaurant. The room and facilities were excellent - the best I have stayed in while in Haiti. The restaurant was beautiful and food was pricey but great. The included breakfast was good too! Not a buffet, you order from the menu. The wifi was great for browsing, but slow for downloading. They had hot water, but understandably in limited amounts. It is in perfect walking distance to a number of restaurants and markets as well as a park. We will definitely be staying here again next time we are in Petionville!

I used to stay at the Marriott, Best Western, El Rancho but I strongly believe that Allamanda Hotel beat them all in services, care for their clients, and customer service for me should ranked as #1. they made you feel as is, specially Ms. Nicole and Mrs. Viviane husband, and Vilma the receptionist

Upon check in the staff requested that every person staying in the room must present their passport so they could take a digital photo of it. When we refused the manager came over and argued with us for about 20 minutes. We were very uncomfortable with this policy and did not give our passports. The manager insisted we were the first people to ever have a problem with this policy and even claimed every hotel in that area requires copies of passports. We inquired at another larger hotel nearby and of course that was not true.

Had issues checking in, was told my room was given to another person and I had to find another hotel at 8pm, after I said I didn’t want to go to another hotel that late, they ended up finding a room for me. Simple room, toilet didn’t work well. Breakfast was good. Nobody was there for check out. Ended up leaving keys on a desk. Switched to another hotel down the street for the next few days.

• Lindsey (6/5): 3/5 - Pros: Breakfast was great, air conditioner worked well, there was a refrigerator, water was luke warm, the hotel is gated but that is common in Haiti, the internet worked well. Cons: It was not a bedbed, it was 2 beds put together so I kept falling into the crack of the bed and the bottom sheet wasn't fitted/ nor did it cover the whole bed. The water was brown. They say there is parking, but it was street parking until the night time. I've stayed in worse places in this area for $100 a night so I wouldn't completely write it off in the future.

• YEdmond (10/5): Nice Guest House in Middle of Petionville - As always the hospitality was above board and I felt secure. Was in second building at Oge #30 which has less amenities. Overall, this is an affordable, well-maintained, and warm guest house on par with the best hotels in PAP.

I live in the U.S. A. first I would start off by saying this review is in now way about the staff they were wonderful. the hotel manger however is a different story. when I got there she told me my room wasn't available because the guest didn't want to leave. I was not happy at all. first of all I had already paid in full for my booking through hotels.com and then for her to try and give me a room I did not pay for was very upsetting to me. then when I sat there for like 30-35 min for them to actually find me a room the room was not at all in a condition that I would've like to stay in. The tv was very tiny and omg they claimed to have international channel's. No they did not!! the Tv barley got any channels at all!! and when it did get channels the tv kept freezing so basically I had no TV the entire time I was there. The room had roaches and the shower was not a pleasant experience at all. The water got every where every time I took a shower. Then they clamined to have free breakfast but charged me for it in the end of my stay. The woman at the desk asked me if I wanted my laundry done so I said yes. Not one time did she mention there was a charge nor does anywhere on the listing for the hotel say there is a charge. Then on top of all of this there were power outages!! When I bought all of this to the hotel manger attention she had the nerve to tell me Haiti is an expensive place. seriously!!
• Farida (10/5): Nice Hotel in the center of it all - The best thing about this hotel is the wonderful people who are running it; from the owner who responds to all your inquiries from before the time you arrive to the time you leave to the ladies and gentlemen who assist her in managing the front desk and the grounds to the beautiful ladies who take care of the kitchen and provide you with a hearty breakfast. The room is clean and spacious, the breakfast is hearty, and the location is central, although it is better you keep in mind that walking is not advisable because of the hills of the city and to be patient with traffic.

• Yanique (10/5): Nice Guesthouse at Center of Petionville, Haiti - I consider Allamanda home away from home. I prefer to stay at small friendly guesthouses when I travel rather than impersonal hotels. The staff at Allamanda are very welcoming, helpful, and resourceful. More importantly, the rooms are excellent - very clean, nicely designed, and roomy. Although during this stay there was a miscommunication with transportation arrangements on my second day, and I was unable to make a 2:00 PM meeting with a group in La Vallee Jacmel; as usual the owner did everything possible and worked out a solution that allowed me to reach La Vallee in time to partially meet with one member of the group.

• mary (10/5): Haiti trip - This hotel was excellent, the staff are very very attentive. The owner Vivanne at this hotel was exceptional she also aided me when I needed to go out. I have stayed at many hotels because I visit often but this one will keep me coming back. The area is calm and quiet, the beds are always freshly made I def give them 5 stars.
• Brendan (8/5): Great B&B when staying in PV - Hotel staff was very pleasant and professional. The room was clean and basic. It included a comfortable bed, clean linens, TV and cold air conditioning. The location is excellent and within walking distance to some good restaurants. Breakfast is included and was made to order. Very tasty and we really enjoyed it. The hotel is secure and has a full time security guard at the front gate. Anyone staying in PV will be very happy with the accommodations.
