Rooftop pool a nice respite from the heat. Great breakfast The pool is (very) small & there are only 2 loungers so if you are expecting more than a cool «dip» you’ll be disappointed. Staff were very helpful when we got there but didnt respond to any emails, calls or messages before hand & phone nrs didnt work!

Check in delayed till 2:50pm but very strict on check out timing. 2. Bed spring is poor quality - completely broken spring. 3. Staff is unlike Hanoi customer service - non accommodative. 4. They even charge for coffee even after paying for breakfast included. Location is nice but many others in same area. I would not recommend this hotel at all. better options for similar price.

They even bought our son a kit kit as they found out he loved them! Lovely food, lovely service and staff, lovely rooms. Very clean and family friendly. Great location for shops, sight seeing and food. Would highly recommend to anyone spending few days in Hanoi!

Jill (4/5): Below average, and tjibkb4 stars is very over rated I think 2 star . - The location was good Bathroom shower water leaked all over floor, aircon in bathroom dripped from ceiling onto toilet, dated tiling with mould around grouting and around shower blind, never any lights on in foyer of our-room, broken handle on safe, and my partner got locked in the pool toilet. ( lock wouldn’t unlock) causing much upset, I raised this with the manager who said she has recived other complaints and was going to put a sign in toilet, but clearly hadn’t done it. When we checked out the reception simple asked if we had used the mini bar… not one time did they acknowledge a thank you or ask how our stay was. Staff smoking at the door is not a good look. Wouldn’t stay again and would not recommend to others.

Hotel itself was very clean and the staff were lovely. The bathroom was the only minor issue, the floor got very wet from the lack of shower screen/bad design.

James (6/5): Not worth the money, but nice staff and central - Nice staff and central location Our window faced a wall, breakfast had limited choice and was rarely refilled meaning the choices were even more limited. The pictures are very catfish and make the pool look bigger than it is, the bar upstairs is also catfish. The bathroom was mostly broken too - ceiling tiles missing, broken shower, broken sink. I do not think this is a 4 star hotel at all. Maybe 2, 3 at a push. Not worth the money in Vietnam.

Vicki (6/5): It was fine, but certainly not luxury. - It was in an excellent central location. The room was comfortable. The room had a window that opened directly onto a wall, so was oppressively dark. The pool toilet door had no lock, and somebody walked in on me on one occasion. Also the pool area is very small and unsupervised, so a group of guests can take it over - great for the group, not so great for other guests.

I got a message and it wasn’t relaxing as they left the doors open and people were talking loud - this was not relaxing Rooms aren’t soundproof and Noise travels through the rooms and I could hear people in the next room talking.
georgih426 (10/5): Go go go there - Very nice hotel - 4 stars... better than most of the EU 4stars... Amazing view from the pool on the roof (and all of the cocktails). Location and staff were great, The hotel manager personally wished us a pleasant continuation of our vacation - small things but important ;)
Remi (9/5): Friendly hotel in the Old Quarter - We booked the junior suite with a balcony, and it was perfect—spacious, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. The location is ideal, right in the heart of the Old Quarter and just a short walk from the lake, which made exploring the city incredibly easy and enjoyable. What really stood out, though, was the hospitality. The entire staff was exceptionally welcoming, friendly, and attentive—always ready to help with a smile. They made us feel right at home. The swimming pool area is a bit small with only a couple of deck chairs.
Madeleine (6/5): Location was good but there are much better hotels in the area - Good location Amenities weren’t very good. We booked three rooms and all had broken showers which was disappointing. The front door to the hotel handle came off when I opened it too.

BeckySucic (10/5): Glad we chose the Golden Lotus Luxury Hotel in Hanoi. - All lovely staff, great buffet breakfast. The manager Doan was very helpful with lots of great advice. Ms Sam looked after us well during breakfast, they make a delicious omelette & plenty of variety to choose from. Doan gave us a fantastic restaurant recommendation at Hanoi Garden Restaurant which was only 110m away and absolutely amazing, 5 star silver service but not expensive compared to comparable restaurants in Australia.
Håkon (10/5): Exceptional - We had two double rooms on the 4th floor, and they were quiet and clean. And with a bath tub! Loved that after a long day out walking. We didn’t get time to use the pool, but had a very nice last evening on the roof top bar. Breakfast was simply excellent.

Dario (4/5): Don't reserve internal window room because they can downgrade you - Our experience took a turn when we found that our deluxe room didn't have a window, despite booking a deluxe internal window room. The staff claimed they only had non-window rooms available and that the pricing was the same, which I know is false because I have screenshots showing a price difference. Shortly after, the toilet's syphon broke and started leaking. I reported it, but when we returned that evening, the issue was still unresolved. I requested a room change, and they provided one for the night that actually had a window, contradicting their earlier claim. While the staff was friendly and the place clean, I left feeling deceived, which really affected our experience.

serenascott (10/5): Staff were amazing - our new friend called Ocean - Hotel clean and well equipped. Pool and food great! Amazing service, friendly staff. Staff went out of there way to help us and make our stay as comfortable as possible. Our son got sick and we needed to go to the doctor in the middle of the night, one staff member named Ocean went out of his way to make this as easier as possible for us, he was truly amazing, coming with us to the doctor and translating and helping every step of the way. And then the next day going to pharmacy to get medicine for us. He did all this out of the kindness of his heart. We can’t thank him enough for his help, kindness, reassurance and respect. Will definitely recommend anyone to stay here especially with children - very family friendly people and so much care every day from staff. The staff member named Ocean deserves respect and recognition. Thank you so much Ocean and the team and golden lotus.
Kate (9/5): Highly recommend this hotel - Breakfast was superb, location fantastic and within walking distance to the lake, staff extremely friendly and helpful, clean room serviced daily if requested. The only thing we could fault was the room we were allocated had an exhaust vent outside that made loud noise all night. We told the staff the next morning and they moved us into a quieter room.
H5920VFclaires (10/5): Wonderful reception - Thuy linh-fo was wonderful at reception. Rooms clean, beds and pillows comfortable and breakfast healthy. Shower hot. Extra bottles of water, location near lots of sites. Not much else to so. But, easy checking and out. Simply could not be bettet.
uyenvyp (10/5): Great location and service in heart of Hanoi! - A strong 5 for Gooden Lotus hotel. The location was perfect near the cathedral, lake and on relatively wide sidewalk street. The beds were very comfortable and breakfast was tasty. Only mild complaint was for the rooms with bathtubs had weaker water pressure.

The Sky bar was nice ..the pool was not as advertised in the pictures ..the ladder getting in was broken only one step to get out no other way to get out of the pool .the bathroom was dated .toilet seat broken. shower was a tub shower with no curtian.water was flooding floor and was hard to step out of the shower.i asked about it they gave me more towels ..the buffet breakfast was nice .room was smaller then advertised..for the price point not worth it

Gehrkelaw (10/5): A place to rest, a place to rxplore HANOI - Sam, Thao, Than was the dining room “boss”. Always a greeting and ready smile, matched the great breakfast buffet. She was representative of all the staff! Front desk, doorman, maids. The location, a mere two blocks from Hoan Kiem in the Old Quarter is perfectly located on a very safe street (except for the scooters! Watch out everywhere for the scooters! Just close your eyes and walk!😁) Oh, and very well appointed and inexpensive!

The bathroom was basic, with gold sink and fixtures. Check prices online carefully, great breakfast buffet and table service. I stayed there twice and would return for the convenience.

Checking in was seamless and the staff were super lovely especially NGUYỄN THẢO - FO on the check in desk. She’s so sweet and couldn’t do enough for us. The only downside is that to do your laundry is very expensive. 470,000 vnd

We were notified ahead of arrival that our family suite wasnt available so they put us in a suite with two roll aways for two nights and gave us a hotel credit to use in rhw spa or restaurant. We were then moved to our correct room by staff. Breakfast buffet was generous. Location was terrific with the lake and many bars and restaurants only 5 min walk. The area around the hotel ft very safe.
Cameron (7/5): Great Hotel right on the doorstep of hanoi. - Amazing location, Right on the Old Quarter / Lake / Train Street etc, great rooftop bar with views over the city and lake. Booked for the rooftop pool but it's FREEZING cold, probably refreshing for a hot day but not an enjoyable and relaxing dip, Wall are very thin so expect to hear echoey voices from the hallway if it's a busy floor. Book a suite if you have lots of luggage as the regular room is quite lacking in space but no problems with the room just space wise can be tight.

Food was really nice priced reasonably . Ambience was . Overall a great experience .

Overall the hotel is one of the best , close to shops . Having stayed at many hotels and hotel chains around the world, it is rare to get such attention, love and abundance. This is going to be our 1st stop whenever we come to Hanoi.

988lexv (10/5): Perfect spot for a last drink - Nice location. First the swimming pool and then a narrow stair to the top of the hotel. Good atmosphere and wonderfull staff. Comfortable seats and good cocktails. Also nice to drink your last beer after a day in Hanoi. Thanks to the staff such as Thu, Vuong and Thao who are amazingly friendly.

Andrew (9/5): Clean and comfortable stay in a great location - Nice comfortable room in a good location. There are many places to eat nearby and it’s right by the lake. The surrounding area has narrow streets and some are one-way, so getting a taxi or Grab car sometimes takes a bit longer than normal. The surrounding area is a bit loud in the late evening but it gets quiet after 10:00 or 11:00 pm. The bathroom and shower is pretty nice and clean.

Perfect location, next to shops, near Michelin recognized restaurants, etc. The "pool" while shallow (waist deep) was a relaxing place to be in the middle of the hot day. Only complaint was the worst hotel breakfast we had - even juice was watered down.

melissa (8/5): - Booked this for the pool and pleasantly surprised how clean and maintained it is. Cool water to cool down on the 40 degree days! Breakfast was good, eggs made on request. Buffet food is left out uncovered so I didn’t have much of it after seeing bar flies on the fruit. No window as such in the room but loved how quiet it is with no street noise at all. Water splashes out of shower every use but water falls to drain outside so it’s not a huge deal. No early checkin here and they charge extra for the privilege if available! The location is great right by walking street and the lake, plenty of eating out options and shopping.

Kathryn (10/5): Wonderful relaxing escape - We have a superb stay , Lisa in reception haloed us book a wonderful day trip to Ha Long Bay with a great guide Justin with Authentic Sail. The rooms are already aircon so it was a welcome rest after a hot day. Across the road is Hanoi Spa and up the street MET restaurant both are outstanding. Enjoy
