Невероятно уютные номера, очень красивая и спокойная атмосфера, а качество косметики в ванной приятно удивило — шампунь и мыло действительно очень хорошие, что редко встретишь даже в дорогих отелях. Но самое главное — персонал. Настолько внимательных, заботливых и отзывчивых людей я давно не встречала. Был момент, когда ночью лаяла собака и нам было некомфортно спать. Мы даже ничего особо не просили, но сотрудники отеля моментально отреагировали и бесплатно переселили нас в номер классом выше. Честно, ощущение было, будто персонал читает мысли 😄 Отдельно хочу отметить завтраки — всё очень вкусно, свежо и с душой. Вообще сервис здесь на каком-то невероятно тёплом человеческом уровне. Огромная благодарность всей команде Shambaling за такую заботу и отношение к гостям

Ich liebe Bodhanath und der abendliche oder Morgenspaziergang zum Stupa gehört für mich zu jedem Kathmandu Aufenthalt dazu. Das Hotel ist eine Oase der Ruhe, man kann sich von anstrengenden Besichtigungen in schlechter Luft hier wunderbar erholen. Nach einem anstrengenden Trek lockt das Spa mit entspannenden Massagen. De kamers zijn netjes en schoon. Het ontbijt is heel goed, net als het diner. Er is mij niets tegen gevallen.

I specifically chose it because it was close to Boudhanath. This was my third hotel in Kathmandu, and I was satisfied. The room was clean, odorless, and insect-free. The hotel administrator helped with any problems, calling a taxi, and other questions. The hotel was quiet and peaceful, with mostly older guests. The breakfasts were delicious, and the hotel restaurant, while expensive, was very good. The rooms aren't as new as they appear in the photos. It didn't spoil my mood, but the hotel seemed newer.

• Femke (10/5): Feeling at home and more. - Oase van rust middenin de stad. Personeel was uitermate vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Eten en drinken goed verzorgd, Kamers schoon en prima in orde. Veel ruimte om te zitten en te ontspannen en de massages zijn een aanrader. Communicatie met massage afdeling kan beter: een keer was sauna niet aan terwijl wel geboekt, en een keer duurde massage 60 min ipv 90 min.

• Bryan (10/5): Cozy and chic stay in the heart of Boudhanath! - Wonderful hotel that combines the best of a cozy family run inn with the chic details of a boutique hotel. The property is gorgeous, with so much attention to the aesthetics. They’ve even incorporated some elements of traditional Tibetan architecture into a very modern space. If you are looking for a relaxing, upscale and comfortable home base in Boudha, this is the spot. This was my second time staying here (first in 2018) and I can’t recommend it enough.

Lovely rooms, prayer flags flying, sound bowls in the room, gated entrance, prayer wheels, great indoor/outdoor cafe/restaurant, beautiful potted plants, yoga and spa including sound healing. Handy to both Bouddha Stupa and Phulbari Monastery. I easily walked to both (Stupa is closer). Nothing to dislike at all.

• Ken (9/5): great hotel and in a good location too. - Could not fault this hotel really, staff were amazing and the hotel was run very smooth with minimal disruptions to guests. food was top notch. if i had to have a moan it would be to have more food options available for food intolerances common to western societies like Gluten etc and this too would go for the menu. had a massage after my trek and was not disappointed and it was well worth the money. location is good near the Boudanath Stupa too within 5 mins walk. Beds were super comfortable. ( These are not dislikes - just suggestions) , for me maybe some ambient music in the common areas like reception and restaurant maybe a good idea as it can be quiet at times. also as per above I would suggest they include food allergens on their menu and train staff on same regarding dietary needs of people. other than that I would have no dislikes even if it is under the flightpath but even I as a light sleeper did not let that bother me at all.

You had to pay extra if you need a television. No basic amenities. They were charging US Dollars for the hotel accommodation. They charged extra on top of my card as well.
• HEATHER (10/5): - I never leave reviews but I feel it is important for travelers to know what a wonderful hotel this is. Let me start by saying that the entire staff are among some of the kindest and genuine people I have come across in a long time. They themselves get 5 stars. The rooms are fantastic and the beds are super comfy. The hotel is also amazingly quiet. I couldn’t believe I was in Kathmandu! Its is beautifully decorated with thoughtful flowers and landscaping. It’s a true gem in beautiful Bodha and is now my new home away from home. I really love this place and can’t wait to return.
• Ml (5/5): Not bad. - Both of decoration and sense of space are not bad.The staff of the restaurant are ready to help. The selection for breakfast are not much, but the croissant is very good. The SPA and massage service of the hotel were pushed from the hotel system.But the masagist was not qualified. She could not use enough power when I asked “harder please .stronger please “ for many times. Maybe her English is not good , or just doesn’t want to work hard. The price of the spa doesn’t deserve the quality.

• Xinmeng (9/5): The hotel is very clean and most of the staff are very professional. - The restaurant staff was very attentive and professional, and an elderly waiter in the lobby was very helpful and friendly. On the first day of our stay, the salesperson who greeted us was not very professional. There is something wrong with the hardware of the room.Even though it was handled properly, it was a awful feeling. But on the second day, the manager of the hotel came to us and found a way to remedy the situation.It's still great and deserves praise. The professional quality of some personnel needs to be improved.

• Barbara (10/5): Over 14 Years, the Best Hotel I've ever Stayed at in Kathmandu - I've been coming to Kathmandu for 14 years and have stayed in a number of different neighborhoods around the city, however this was my first stay at Boudhanath. From the moment I arrived, the staff was extremely attentive and this became even more evident when I came down with a flu on the evening of my arrival. They bent over backward to provide me with foods I could keep down and even offered to get me medicine. Even more important, my room was exceptional: modern, spacious with separate sitting area, mini bar and fridge, separate desk, huge soft bed with beautiful linens). The wi-fi was excellent. The included breakfast (once I could eat again) was delicious and offered a varied menu. The location was a mere 10-15 minute walk from Boudhanath Stupa. And the price was perhaps a little higher than I normally pay, but affordable. Bottom line, it is the best hotel I've ever stayed at in Kathmandu and I will stay here from now on. Absolutely nothing

• Gail (10/5): - Shambaling is a little oasis in Katmandu. It's intimate setting fosters a gentle stillness and staff could not be more accommodating. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the newly opened spa offers wonderful treatments for weary, sore trekking muscles. I will tell all my travelling friends about this "must stay at "- gem.

• Tom (10/5): Terrific hotel! - A friend was staying at Shambaling when I came to visit her, and I was immediately impressed by the hotel. I am a Buddhist, so the hotel's location near several major monasteries - including Sechen monastery - and the Buddha Stupa was a big draw. Additionally, the hotel's amenities - the quality of the rooms, the quality of the restaurant and the variety of the menu, the design and decor - were far better than other hotels I had looked at in the neighborhood, for the same price range. Shambaling is a strong competitor for the Hyatt, in my opinion, at a much better price. When we arrived, the hotel staff turned out to be extremely attentive and competent - quick to anticipate our needs, always inquiring after our welfare, and available at all times of the day and night. When I came down with a stomach virus, the staff really showed what they are capable of: they sent up custom beverages and food, went out to buy me medicines, dealt with cleaning issues, and made sure I was ready to travel. My partner also took advantage of the in-room massage services and received a series of very professional massages that she found transformative. All in all, I can highly recommend Shambaling. We will be back! The hotel is somewhat hard to find - tucked away in a small side street off of one of the main roads. A couple of taxi drivers couldn't find it, or needed me to navigate. Is that a negative? Not really. It's also good to know that the hotel is right next to an active monastery whose monks start practicing at around 4 am, so rooms overlooking the hotel garden are best - very quiet.

The staff were very nice, the breakfast menu was okay but since there were limited vegetable options they prepared something specially for us which was excellent. We stayed in a different hotel in the Tamil area on our first night and the price wasn't all that different - there was no comparison in terms of the quality and vibe of the hotel - this was on such a higher level

• Johannes (10/5): Dear Shambling team, thank you very much for making our stay feel like coming home for Christmas! - Our stay at Shambling Boutique Hotel was both an amazing start for our visit to Nepal as well as a beautiful gift for Christmas. Every little detail was so charming and full of heartwarming hospitality. It started with the smooth and welcoming pick-up from the airport, the warm reception, and continued with the tastefully decorated room, the perfect cleanliness, hot water (in Nepali winter) and the incredibly cosy bed. he food was just another highlight: breakfast set in the serene garden and dinner in the restaurant under the Christmas tree, we enjoyed every delicious bite and sip. But what stood out the most was the skilful and truly caring staff. Whenever even a hint of a wish arose, someone was already there to make it come true. Always gentle, always with a solution right on the spot and always with a bright smile. This is hospitality at it's best.

They were always willing to help e.g. carrying the luggage, booking taxis and offering instructions and in room service. The hotel was a calm oasis around the chaotic city. The food was of high quality and the room service offered traditional dishes that were well made and comparably affordable. In general, the hotel has has a character and it is not commercialized.

Recommended! - After coming back sick from the mountains, we were lovingly cared for by all the staff of Shambaling Hotel. You cannot wish for better care than here.
