• Nikhat (6/5): - I felt safe. Room was big and comfortable WiFi is good and strong throughout. Staff are polite and helpful. Breakfast selection was good and when there wasnt many people they offered to make you whatever you wanted. Rooms are nice but not sound proofed at all, can hear everything that is going on in the corridor and surrounding rooms. 0530 on a Sunday morning, music started blaring loudly from where I'm not sure, potentially the restaurant downstairs, waking me up. The hot water takes about 10mins to get vaguely warm (even on the hottest) and then there's about 5 minutes before its scalding. Whether or not thats because there's low occupancy and it isnt used much at the moment Im not sure. I cant say the AC/heating is particularly efficient. I also couldn't fine a safe in the room, but neither of the hotels I've stayed in in Nepal have had safes. Its an OK place to have a one night stop maybe but as a base for longer I wouldn't recommend. I only stayed as it was a recommendation from my trip organiser as they have an office there.

Can be noisy depending on room you are in. Water from shower was cold. Breakfast was average and some of the "hot" food was cold.

• Andrea (7/5): Central location for a good price - Central area - easy to shop for hiking gear and lots of cafes/restaurants nearby. The breakfast was good. Luggage storage available if you are away hiking. Friendly staff. Nice garden seating area. Money changers close by. Good price for a solid 3 star hotel. We had two stays - before and after hiking. Both times our rooms were noisy at night regardlesss of the description as being soundproof. Also our second room booking was supposed to be garden view but it was facing the street which is noisy at night. One room had patchy internet while the other was fine.

• Christine (10/5): Excellent hotel in Kathmandu - The hotel was great. The staff were exceptional. Thank you all. The restaurant food was wonderful. Nothing I didn't like. It can be loud at night as you can hear sounds from the streets so bring ear buds if you're a light sleeper.

The buffet breakfast was relatively simple but plentiful with healthy options, and the grounds/restaurant setting was great. The other guests could be noisy and inconsiderate, talking loudly late at night and from 5am... this is NOT something I blame the hotel for, simple ignorance on the part of the guests.

Dark, hidden, bathroom smelled weird. The double room was fine, but I hated the piggeons right outside my windows. Also AC could be improved and they did not give 2 keys for a room with two people, which was very inconvenient. Expensive for what it was. Breakfast could also be improved a lot.

• Eliza (6/5): There are much more affordable hotel options for similar quality to Hotel Marshyangi. - The hotel is in a great location and can store luggage securely for free. The included breakfast is also amazing! The WiFi is hit-or-miss. I couldn’t make a 10min phone call without getting disconnected. I stayed both before and after my trek. The room I stayed in before my trek faced the road and was extremely loud. The room I stayed in after my trek had no window facing outside (the “window” faced the inside of the hotel room) which was quieter but did not provide natural sunlight.

• Ivanromeo (4/5): Bad experience. I payed for sleeping but I didn't ! - The staff was helpful and kindly, with a special mention for Mr Sulav. The room 403 ! At night, while we were sleeping, arond 10,30 pm, suddenly, there was a loud noise suddenly there was a loud noise coming from the ceiling that, despite earplugs, it was impossible to sleep. Noise similar to a compressor that spread across the entire 4th floor. I called the reception and shortly after the noise disappeared, but another lighter one continued all night. With earplugs I was able to have a little lunch and fortunately I had to leave at 6 to catch the plane. Breakfast was I was waiting in the room at 5.30, but instead it was stopped at the reception!!! How incompetent!!! I don't recommend it at all!!!
