• Asmita (6/5): - The location is nice. There was a scenic view from balcony. The place was maintained from outside and was aesthetic. The room was not that clean and there were flies all around. The room didn't have kettle and we had to carry our luggage while checking out as the host was not picking up our calls.

• Subhra Kanti (8/5): Clean and comfortable - value for money - Excellent location and clean and spacious rooms. Thomson shared his number at the beginning and clearly mentioned what to expect. It is a room only accommodation and you need to get towel, soaps etc. on your own. From the hall area you can see Ooty lake across the road. Nearby restaurant serves decent food. The market, railway station and the bus terminus is close by. Good option if you are travelling by public transport. Nothing specific to mention here about the guest house. The facility is on the roadside. So, sometimes, especially at night, the passing and honking vehicles may feel bothersome.

• Deepshikha (1/5): The paid room that we didn't get! - Nothing Booked a non-refundable room for two nights more than two weeks ago with full payment and when we reach there, the owner told us, he doesn't have the room available which we already paid for. So in the middle of heavy rain and cold in ooty, we should find a new accommodation. The only saving grace is that he paid back the full amount. This is highly discourteous towards trusting customers. I hope they can improve.

• Chia (8/5): Very good - The price is reasonable, the location is convenient, and the two little girls are adorable. The dorm doesn't have Wi-Fi, the drinking water station requires climbing stairs to reach, and the hot water supply period is a bit short.
• Deepa (3/5): Not worth the price and no proper facilities. - 1. The room is very small, not worth the price. 2. Hot water is for very limited time and it’s late, we had to go out without taking bath. 3. No entry to the property before 9am and it’s no where mentioned in the discerption while booking. We reached at 7am and had to stay outside for 2 hrs. We made request to let us in at 7am but the owner denied. 4. Special price for lake view room is charged but it’s not a proper lake, it’s like garbage water standing still.

Lake view, however it's edge of lake which is very dirty Lenin and bed were kept neat and clean. Rooms were also clean. Very rigid about the check in, facility locked till 9:00 am. No way a traveller can get in if they reach early. Hot water is available for a limited time only, was told that the same is mentioned in the listing. However, i couldn't find anything of that sort on booking.com listing of the property. Broken toilet seat, cracked washbasin, toilet door knob broken.

• Simon (10/5): Exceptional - A nice enough room with a pleasant balcony and a garden to sit in. Lovely views over the lake. Location is 400m from the train and bus station, at the quieter end of town. We were kindly lent a kettle for our 4 night stay. Very hot water Helpful owners.

And we can enjoy the view with good climate Back side of The toilet was not clean we can see the bush branches and fallens leave smell through the toilet window. That was the only thing negative about the stay.staff was really helpful and a friendly young fellow.

Will recommend everyone to visit this beautiful place! - Budget rooms were available in Reflections Guest house since we booked pretty last minute. We booked 2 rooms @ ₹800 per room per night. The room was fine. Geyser was functioning. Beds were comfy and blankets were provided. The cupboard was old but we can make do. Both hot and cold drinking water is available. Library is available for reading enthusiasts. We did not opt for breakfast at the time of booking (₹120 per person + optional). Tea / Coffee is available in the guest house. One pot of coffee serves 2 cups and is charged ₹65. Once you order, takes about 20 mins to get delivered. Our caretaker was Mr. Thomson. Very decent guy and courteous. I would like to inform my fellow travellers that the Reflections Guest house is in a great location (about 500m to Ooty bus stand and about 2 Kms to Ooty Lake). You have Malabar Restaurant next to the guest house, literally next door. We had our breakfast and dinner at Malabar Restaurant during our 3 days of stay in Ooty. In the morning, the options for breakfast at the Malabar Restaurant is South Indian, mostly dosa. You get different types of dosas. Idli is not there. The Sambar is not that great however the onion chutney (Red Chutney) and White chutney are awesome. I was afraid that the Dosa might be stale but it was not. You also get Poori with Sabji in the morning. In the night, you have multiple options, both veg and non-veg. You have Chinese, South India, North Indian, etc. However, please be informed that this is not like a Barbeque in Bengaluru where there are a plethora of options and dishes. The items are limited but good. One last thing I would like to highlight is that the food is a little spicy here. So if you are bringing kids, please be mindful of this fact. Ambience is good. It is not a very big hotel. It opens at 9:00 AM in the morning and continues till 11:00 PM in the night. But yes, for us, we enjoyed the stay and the food. So thats my 2 cents folks. Enjoy your stay in Ooty!! The cupboard in our budget rooms was old but we can make do with it. The budget rooms look a bit old. However, if you want a more sophisticated stay, you can opt for the lake view rooms.(These were not available when we were planning). They should provide viper in the bathroom because once you take bath, it takes time for the bathroom to dry. They didn't provide bathroom slippers for our room so please carry your own in case you are booking budget rooms. (Not sure about the lake view ones) Hot water for utility purposes is available from 7:30 to 9:00 AM in the morning. This is centralised meaning all the rooms get hot water at the same time. Hot and normal drinking water is available but you will need to ask for it. The caretaker promptly delivered in 5 mins but you need to ask. Phone number of the caretaker will be provided once you reach the guest house. I got the guest house contact person number in the night just a day before our travel. This was making me a bit nervous. I had no way to contact them earlier. We booked about 5 days ago through booking.com website. The food in Malabar Restaurant is a little spicy. Also, there is no idli in the morning. Morning items are pretty much South Indian that too Dosa. I would like to add here that we visited Ooty in 2018 in June. I remember I was not able to keep my bare feet on the ground as it was freezing cold. This time, in 2024, after 6 years, we visited Ooty in the first week of October. However, we didn't feel that cold. I was able to roam around in my thin sweater. I had a thick one packed just in case but I never put it on once. Effects of Global warming might be showing up.

There was construction going on on the rooftop so we had to change the room. 2nd room given to us had issues with bathroom. It was smelling like drainage. We had to use another room's bathroom. Rooms are very small.

The bathroom also had a foul smell which we could not get rid of for the entire three days stay. We had issues with the wifi. The description said that there is outdoor dining area as well. However it is only for a few rooms and not all.

The check-in process was delayed, which was an unexpected inconvenience. However, the staff member in charge was accommodating, offering extended check-out time as compensation, which was appreciated. The maintenance of the exterior left much to be desired, and the malfunctioning toilet added to the discomfort. Considering the cost, the amenities did not meet expectations, leading to a feeling that the service was overpriced for what was offered.

Sitting outside in the sun in the garden is a nice change (for that part in India). Oh and if you came to move your legs, go hike with the guide (ask the owner for the contact) in the mountain :) .
