- Verified traveler (10/5): Best hotel in Taichung. - For a Taipei lived person, I think this is the best hotel if travelers drive to Taichung and enjoy the local Taichung style. Comfortable and convenient, excellent.

- Benjamin (10/5): - Several notable bonuses for staying at Lailai set it apart from other hotels: 1) it shares the building with World Gym, the franchise started by Arnold Schwarzenegger. The hotel provides a voucher for guests to work out for free. They say it is the largest gym in Taiwan, and the variety of exercise machines, weight machines, and free weights seems to bear that out. If you're addicted to working out like me, you may even feel spoiled . There's a broad offering of exercise classes and hotel guests are welcome, also for no fee. Note, the mid afternoon classes cater to retirees. 2) an excellent breakfast buffet is included. The variety of dishes is surprising. More impressive is that many of the dishes changed on the second day of my stay. So often these hotels will serve the same breakfast day after day, so that after a few days even the delicious food seems boring. 3) free laundry! The basket in your closet has your room number on it. If you happen to leave your clothes in the washing machine or dryer too long, the next person to come along can simply dump your clothes into the bucket and just get there wash on. The one issue I did have was that the AC did not bring my room to a comfortable temperature. Apparently, the 9th floor AC units are not as effective as those on the 6th floor. The staff was super about changing my room immediately and letting me know not to expect the room to cool below 20° C.

Rooms are clean and they were also kind enough to change rooms for us when the Aircon in our original one wasn't working properly. Front desk was also responsive, friendly and efficient. Breakfast was so-so in terms of variety but still good to have in the morning. Definitely a good place to stay in Taichung!

- John (10/5): Thank Lai Lai Hotel - We were in Taichung for medical reasons and nine days. The hospital was in walking distance from the hotel. Clean rooms and friendly staff. Hotel stay includes free workout at #1 The World Gym which includes spa facilities. A low hotel price for great Hotel accommodation.

Good things were 1. duvet covers, 2. large clean washroom and shower, 3. excellent air conditioner, 4. in-room safe, 5. free laundry machines, 6. awesome included buffet breakfast. The inside rooms - with no windows - are roomier than the regular room. The location is excellent, with many buses stopping at the stop next to the university beside the hotel. There is also a decent night market within 5 min walk. The staff is also fantastic. Can't really think of a bad thing to say about this hotel.

- Verified traveler (8/5): Noisy hotel. - Location was ok. Near to night market. Don't expect anything fancy cos it's an old building with busy streets and noise. It housed a gymn so it's noisy. Music and shouting from instructor start as early as 8am and last till 10pm. Window has no view and overlook old shop houses or residences with windows overlooking into the hotel rooms. Service staff not very polite nor courteous as compared to the other hotels I stayed while in Taipei and other parts of Taichung.

Their breakfast buffet has lots of variety to choose from even for someone like my mom who is a vegetarian. They even serve hot buns and drinks for free at their reception. Location is superb! Night market and some nice boutiques are just across the street! I would definitely stay here again nxt time!

Located just across Yizhong Street which is 1 of the famous Taichung night street where you can get all the super nice and cheap Street food. Plenty of stuff to shop. Great for shopping and eat. The service was great. Staff are all very friendly. They provided some free snacks and drinks at the lobby so you won't get hungry. The room and the toilet were huge. It is definitely worth the price. Will definitely stay there again. Thumbs up!

The room is spacious, bed is comfortable too. When ask for buses direction, they gave us all top 10 places to visit and a map. Then offered us additional bottle waters to take while we traveling thru the city. We were so thrilled with all of the extra pampering, we already planning on our next journey in Taichung and this is our #1 choice hotel.

As i went to Qin Jing on my second day, i deposit my luggage at the hotel and on my third day, i went back to the hotel, they directly placed my luggage into my room (Same room). So sweet of them. Fantastic stay. Highly recommended.

The hotel staff were very polite and patient,we had a small problem with the wifi,and we told them,and they fixed it in a few seconds and came upstairs to see if it was working efficiently. Location was good too. Close to a large shopping mall and a night market. Plenty of buses to take nearby too!

- Jon (8/5): Helpful Staff - Booked a Superior room with no window. Good size and structure of the room (a curtain on one wall) does not make lack of a window such an issue. Staff were very helpful with directions. Breakfast range is very good. Hotel has Washer and Dryer with free wash powder, to do your own laundry. Free drink and latter in the day steamed buns available in foyer. There is a market area with shops directly opposite the hotel, many shops and stalls are open during the day, though really comes alive at night. Plenty of buses going past hotel. Chung Yo Dept store is about 10 min walk down the road, a large dept store, but also large range of eating places within (basement , ground level at front ,14th Floor and 15th floor - highly recommend Buffet on 15th Floor tower B).
