Kitty (6/5): - Waratah is a very small and quiet town. We stayed for 2 nights so that we could drive to Cradle Mountain easily within 45 minutes each way. The room we stayed in was a queen room with ensuite. The whole room basically was very clean. However, it was so small that we could only stand in the room or sat on the bed. The bed was comfortable but the quilt was dusty. The staff are nice and helpful.

Cheryl (10/5): - We really enjoyed our stay at Waratah. The rooms were clean and the meals wonderful. The Bischoff is easy walking around the town and we were lucky enough to spot a platypus or two in the nearby lake. Check out the local waterfall lit up at night. Great location!

Thomas (4/5): Not happy - Das Hotel ist alt, die Zimmer sind klein und wirken überladen. Das Zimmer das wir bekommen haben, war so klein, dass wir nicht die Koffer öffnen und gleichzeitig noch im Zimmer stehen konnten. Gegen einen Aufpreis haben wir ein grösseres Zimmer bekommen. Der Frühstücksraum wird wohl nicht oft gebraucht. Er ist lieblos eingerichtet und war sehr kalt. Das essen im Pub war enttäuschend.

Jenna (10/5): - My daughter and I stayed overnight in a twin room and we absolutely loved it! The room was clean, the bedding a towels were clean, the kitchen had everything you needed, the bathrooms were great. We loved the history of the hotel and feeling a part of it. Typical yummy pub food for dinner and lovely continental breakfast. Bonus - beautiful waterfall across the road!
Darryl (10/5): Mostly good, with some bits, - It may have been foolish if I thought each room has a separate bath and shower rather than no ensuite at all. Just a men's shared facility and a woman's shared facility. At the tariff charged was expecting more. External shot of the building looked like it was fully refurbished but externally but the building still needs a lot work done on it.. lots of positives though. Quick check in, very pleasant proprietors, well suited to the industry. Excellent food but coffee expensive at $7.12 including cc surcharge for a mug. Plenty of places to plug things in , power boards with spare sockets. Plus our twin room number gave us a great view of the waterfall when standing at the small window. If you don't mind sharing facilities with others be their guest.

It was no trouble for our included breakfast to be an hour early so we could get to our next remote stay in good time. Would recommend it completely

Jean (8/5): Waratah - Pleasantly surprised of how clean, tidy and comfortable this very old hotel was. The staff were friendly and helpful. The common room/kitchenette was a lovely space to make breakfast. The people of Waratah clearly take pride in their town and enjoyed visiting this township
Candice (8/5): Waratah - We stayed here for 2 nights as a base for exploring Cradle Mountain and the surrounding areas. We stayed in the Spa Suite, which was a large room with everything you needed and a GREAT spa tub to soak in after a cold day outside - this is definitely a well-worth perk of the room. A continental breakfast of tea + coffee, cereal, fresh milk and OJ is provided each morning to enjoy in your room at your leisure. A small fridge, kettle, toaster, microwave and bathrobes all come with the spa suite. The bed was so comfy, with electric blankets to keep warm (these were appreciated as even though there is a heater in the room, it didn’t warm up beyond 17-18 degrees). Something that could have made a difference to the overall welcome would be to have the heater already on for guests arriving, as the room was a very chilly 13 degrees when we checked in. The town is quaint with a small service station the only place to pick up select groceries, and the Bischoff Hotel the only pub in town. Thank God they do food as well as they do!! We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and drinks both nights we stayed there. Check out their website for menus. A quirky cafe is a few doors down for a mid-morning coffee. Overall, a great stay and will definitely be back again. Make sure to do the Waratah Bush Walk down to the old Power Station when in town. The pub can provide a map and set of instructions to guide you - allow 1.5hrs roughly to complete! And try catch the platypus in the creeks :)
