Guest Reviews
- Sue (10/5): - This is an old place so do not expect modern facilities. Having said that, it is a really great place to stay! Our hosts, Teresa and Randall, went out of their way to make our stay just wonderful. The breakfast was cooked to order (not left on a heated stand!). Our room was well heated and the bed comfortable. Little extra touches like free sherry and port available in the guest lounge plus chocolates and mints in our room made you feel really at home. However, if you want to stay in this lovey place, you wil need to be quick as after more than 8 years as hosts, Teresa and Randall will be closing at the end of this year.
- David (8/5): Quaint and central accommodation at a great price - Lovely and quaint accommodation with extremely friendly and accommodating host who just couldn't do enough for us and provides a wonderful full breakfast.
The only word of caution we would like to add for light sleepers is that the train line is close by and approx 3 goods trains pass through at night, however ear plugs are provided for those who require them.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The booklng was the wrong day we want a refund. We did not stay at Bonnies
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The property was centrally located The proprietor was extremely friendly and obliging, and provided us with a pefectly cooked delicious breakfast.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great hospitality and breakfast outstanding.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Bonneys Inn is olde worlde and is excellent all round.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Our hosts were welcoming and the accommodation was lovely
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very welcoming and a homely feeling. In a great position with views of the river.
Coffee and tea whenever you want.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Comfortable, lots of character, and welcoming and helpful owner, Teresa.
- Norman (10/5): Wonderful stay - Had a lovely comfortable stay. Met Therese who invited us to help ourselves to cakes and biscuits for afternoon tea. Our bedroom had chocolates and bottles of water. We were able to walk around the town and plenty of shops and eateries nearby. An amazing cooked breakfast of bacon and eggs after cereal and home cooked (and grown) rhubarb and peaches along with other fresh fruits.
- proberts-thomso (10/5): - Its unique heritage makes it a must particularly when the hosts provide a scrumptious breakfast expertly prepared and presented
- Lyn (10/5): Best Little B&B in the North! - Three girlfriends decided to stay in Deloraine as a last minute getaway - we chose Bonney's Inn and were sooo glad we did! Theresa and Randall were wonderful hosts. We were able to check in early allowing us to wander the cute cafes and shops, then return to sit back and chill in the fabulous communal kitchen area. The 'wing' we had was perfect with ensuite and everything you could expect for a 'home away from home' experience. Breakfast was amazing!! Bonney's Inn is a must if staying in, or near, Deloraine!! We will definitely be back.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Old charm, feels homely ,exelent breakfast with fresh fruit selection and full cooked choice, nice garden to sit in and enjoy a wine
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The host Teresa was a wonderful lady and so helpful. The breakfast was the best I've ever eaten anywhere - there was so much variety. Everything about the property was lovely and we really enjoyed our stay. Can heartily recommend Bonney's Inn
- Verified traveler (8/5): Comfortable and great value option - Bonney's Inn feels like staying at your friend's parents place. You've been invited for the weekend, it's quirky and feels somewhat familiar. Located at the southern end of Deloraine's main street, Bonney's Inn is in walking distance of coffee shops, boutique cafes and restaurants (can recommend the food and coffee at Deloraine Deli). Any B&B is only as good as its host. Theresa does a great job of making everyone feel welcome. We had a twin room on the ground floor, spacious, with its own bathroom, the beds were comfortable and it was exceptional value for two people with a substantial cooked breakfast thrown in. There are no airs and graces about this place. It is a historic building and requires some restoration and upkeep. However you can not beat the location, price and welcome in an area with limited accommodation options. Please note the train line is opposite. It runs through the night and can feel and sound like it's running through your room. Light sleepers might want to consider ear plugs.
- ROBYN (8/5): LOVELY PLACE TO STAY - A lovely couple run the inn. Very helpful, friendly and great hosts. The inn is 185 years old has all the mod cons you would need. A good ecperience. Great breakfast, delicious afternoon tea, thank you.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Wonderful host and comfortable B&B - We stayed only for one night. The house was a charm, filled with character and humour. It was close to the park and walking distance to the shops and restaurants. Randall & Teresa were very friendly and helpful. They were generous with their service, providing chocolate treat, free water and various choice of tea for the guests. They allowed us to have BYO dinner in their dining room and Randall even offered to clean up the dishes for us. Teresa definitely has a kind heart to get up early not only to serve us hot breakfast of our choice, but also to bake the cakes for the bush fire volunteers. What an Aussie spirit!
- Rosey (10/5): - Wonderful experience to stay here. A historic building and garden. Hosts go out of their to add special touches to the rooms. Separate guest lounge. Breakfast was out of this world. We will stay here again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - lovely old style accommodation in the centre of town and opposite the river and lovely parklands.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely atmosphere and the most accomodating place I've stayed at ..... the food was awesome, lots of extras
- Mark (10/5): - Excellent B&B Teresa & Randall are great hosts. We enjoyed the unique atmosphere of the oldest building in Deloranie.
Lots of history in this old house.
- Loretta (10/5): Home comforts - Teresa & Randall are fantastic hosts. Nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast was delicious. Rooms were warm & cosy.
- Alison (8/5): - Teresa could not have been more helpful and welcoming. Her generous hospitality was delightful . There were chocolates by the bed, homemade cookies and drinks on offer in the dining room and a wonderful spread for breakfast
- Verified traveler (10/5): Warm, cosy and friendly - We stayed here for only one night but wish it could have been more. The whole place was so cosy and warm, especially needed seeing as we stayed in the middle of winter! Teresa and Randall are lovely and very friendly and Teresa cooks an awesome breakfast. There were lots of teas and biscuits and a continental breakfast too. We would definitely stay here again!
- Brad (10/5): Lovely old B&B - Comfortable and friendly B&B run by husband and wife in a great location opposite river and park. Walking distance to town. Room comfortable, lovely lounge and big breakfast. Great for couples.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Only one night but I was made to feel instantly welcome. Breakfast was friendly, chatty and fun. Theresa is a gem.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very enjoyable stay, excellent breakfast! Room was warm & bed was comfortable.
- Lynne (8/5): Lovely historical inn - Welcoming and friendly host. Appreciated interesting books in reading room. Lovely comfortable bedroom with everything we needed.
- Dianne (10/5): - Good stay. Theresa was a wonderful host. Great breakfasts and afternoon tea.
- Helen & Rob (10/5): - Teresa is a wonderful host. We enjoyed sitting reading in the lounge with a glass of port and some fruit cake and cookies. Her breakfast was spectacular! She made us dinner reservations and provided discounts for drinks at a local dining room.
- Drew (8/5): Terrific Breakfast !! - The room was not quite what we were expecting, a bit crammed, a bit tired and no ventilation...... BUT the breakie was brilliant. Our hostess excelled on the pots and presentation with a spread that would satisfy an entire rugby team. The site is well located - lovely walks along the river and right in amongst the craft shops of the town. If you're there at night, try the Deloraine Deli (at the top of the main street) for more atmosphere, good service and great food !!
- Chris & Sharyn (10/5): Lovely Old Inn Accommodation - We stayed for 1 week, Teresa was a lovely host to us and others that stayed during that week. Teresa presented lovely fresh local fruit etc for breakfast along with amazing cooked breakfast. Guest room was very welcoming with a great feel. Randal lent me fishing gear and took me fishing along the Derwent River that is just over the road from Bonney's Inn. Evening meals were no problem with the pub being next door, recommended the pub for meals, always lots of people in there including locals, that is a good sign.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Very warm welcome and the best breakfast! - Wow - what a breakfast! Everything I could wish for, and perfectly cooked eggs (I'm very fussy!). This B&B has plenty of old world charm and you are made to feel so welcome. The bed was very comfortable and I had a great night sleep too. Just walking distance to a couple of great pubs which do delicious evening meals, it's in a great location. Great value for money.
- Sandy &Pauline (10/5): Vet good B&B in lovely location - Very good B&B in a lovely location in the middle of town. We enjoyed our stay here and the friendliness of the host. This building is the oldest in Deloraine and on the historic buildings register. We would certainly stay here again. Breakfast was a substantial hot breakfast and continental breakfast and it appeared to cater for all diets
- norm (10/5): Old building had great character and well located - The owners of this BB style accommodation did a first class job, very welcoming and they made you feel like part of there family. After staying at mainly motel and hotel style accommodation this was a great experience,
especially our 11 year old grand daughter.
We had other people staying at Bonnie Inn and all had great things to say about the owners/hosts and
what an outstanding job they are doing.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Nice hotel next to railway line - Lovely hosts but bed very uncomfortable and trains all night very loud
- Robyn (10/5): The best place to stay. - Teresa our host welcomed us like we were family. Our room was lovely and the bed comfy. The breakfast was amazing nothing is to much trouble for Teresa. We would recommend staying at Bonney Inn to anyone.
- Jeff (10/5): Great stay. - Great people to stay with.
Warm friendly environment.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Delightful old 2 storey coach house. (You will need to be able to use the steep stairs.) Wonderful hosts- very interesting and caring people. Breakfast was wonderful- not just the food but the country kitchen environment - very conducive to sharing with fellow travelers. Thank you!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Pretty Town - Great hospitality in historic house.
Thanks Teresa &Randall
- andre (8/5): Welcoming staff. - Percolate coffee as soon as we arrived, clean welcoming facility, would recommend.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Lovely old B&B with friendly owners. - This is a nice old place with a lot of history attached and is close to many of the northern tourist trails. It is a bit further to Cradle Mountain then we had expected but was still readily accessible.
- Verified traveler (8/5): B&B with history and character - Friendly host Theresa. Great breakfast and homemade cookies.
- Verified traveler (10/5): A wonderful place to stay! - Great hosts, wonderful breakfasts, made part of the family, knew the local area wonderfully, had suggestions as to what to see, visit etc & were more than willing t have a yarn.
- Michael (8/5): Great place for a stop over - Very nice and friendly owners. The place was a great stop over for us. The accommodation was very clean and exactly what we needed
- Verified traveler (10/5): A lovely character hotel in beautiful surroundings - Bonneys is the oldest brick hotel in Deloraine, a former Inn built in the 1830s. It's a lovely place to stay with comfortable neat rooms, a beautiful building and gardens, and friendly staff. The breakfast provided was excellent.
- Nerissa (6/5): Quick night stop - This was a quick night stop after a 4 day trek. Arrived late and left reasonably early.
Hosts were lovely and rooms clean and neat.
Room was a bit cold, but extra blankets helped with that. The main drawback was the trains at all hours of the night. Super loud and woke me multiple times.
- Chris (8/5): Pleasant stay - A lovely aged B&B with a lovely host. A very pleasant stay.
- Adele (8/5): A home away from home - Theresa & Randall were wonderful hosts - wonderful stories & excellent breakfast. Kitchen supplies are in abundance and the range so diverse - hats off to you guys! The Inn is a wonderful piece of history and excellent location between the coasts of Tasmania. You are made to feel very much at home - thank you for your hospitality :)
- Iain (8/5): Visit for the arts & crafts, stay for the company - Bonney's Inn is the oldest brick building in Deloraine and is a beautiful B&B. The rooms were clean with a nice size bathroom and a small fridge included.
The great part of staying here is Teresa and Randall the owners. Take the opportunity to have Randall cook you some beautiful breakfast and have a yarn with Teresa about the wonders of Deloraine felt very homey and a really enjoyable experience.
Deloraine is a great spot to visit for the arts and crafts, the main street is filled with shops selling local crafted items, all really nice. The river that runs through Deloraine is also a great visit in the early evening when the ducks, swans and platypus are feeding (we saw a platypus in the wild, very exciting).
Be warned the train comes through the town a couple of times in the night night (early evening and early morning) and is pretty loud throughout the town so be prepared to have this interruption. Otherwise a great experience.
