Guest Reviews
- Kay (8/5): Comfortable and helpful in the middle of nowhere!!! - Friendly and quirky outback hotel. Great options for local tours and very, very helpful operators! Homestyle meals and wonderful salades.
- Kylie (10/5): Hidden gem, elegant stay in the outback - I loved absolutely everything. I booked this place as it was the only one left in Cunnamulla, I didn’t even know it existed. Holy smokes but this is one of the most nicest little places I’ve stayed. A literal hidden gem! The rooms were absolutely stunning, each one looked amazing from when we walked down the hall. Honestly wish we had stayed here last time we went through. The staff were absolutely beautiful, met the manager and the cleaners who all greeted us on arrival. Will definitely be staying here again. There was a restaurant on this establishment but it was the closed the night we stayed, the pub is literally a 5 second walk. But definitely will try the restaurant next time we stay. Highly highly recommend this place There was nothing not to like
- Trevor (9/5): A Comfortable Cunnamulla Stay - Barney, the staff member who looked after us was exceptional. She was very friendly and helpful.
We had dinner there on our second night and it was delicious.
The rooms are in an old building with furnishings from
an older period.
The bathroom amenities, L'Occitaine were first class and not scrimped on. The lighting in the room was quite dim. Not having a reading light made reading in bed difficult.
As the pub and reception do not open until mid afternoon making contact was problematic.
- Garth (8/5): -
- Shannon (10/5): -
- Colin (10/5): - Unbelievable experience, beautiful old historic ensuited rooms which are beautifully decorated Couldn't stay long
- Charles Curry (9/5): - Lovely room and very attentive and obliging staff. The dining room was too hot to eat there but aircon may be installed soon and we dined very pleasantly in the garden.
- Melissa (7/5): - The gardens, the staff and location The room wasn't ready when we arrived after 2pm and the aircon wasn't working when we got into the room after 3pm. We then had to wait around for the manager/owner to come and get it working.
- Murray (7/5): -
- Jacqueline (8/5): Pretty flash for outback remote location accomodation they’ve done a good job & you will be looked after. It’s comfo - Beautiful garden & outdoor area with shade, seating and pretty fairy lights at night & secure parking Room lacked natural light and fresh air!
- Arthur (9/5): - Old world charm, and lovely staff
- Randhawa (1/5): - No one was at the reception, the hotel was closed and we booked another hotel late at night. It was really hard to find a hotel in that small town. No service was given
- Lee (8/5): Probably the best option for a short stay in Cunnamulla - Central location. Clean room. Restaurant on site. Easy parking. Double rooms are quite tight.
- Damon (10/5): Very comfortable stay - Lovely host and everything was beautiful
- Lisa (9/5): Visiting the Cunnamulla Hot Springs was amazing, and staying at the Club Boutique Hotel was perfect. - The host was so friendly and helpful, answering questions about the town and its history. We also enjoyed the garden and found the rooms to be tastefully decorated, with extras thrown in like the dressing gown, slippers, nice toiletries etc. Dinner in the restaurant was also really good.
- Jim (10/5): Glamping in the bush - It was a total surprise to discover such a great hotel in a beautiful country town. The Glamping accommodation was excellent and very comfortable. The hotel offered a good selection of meals and the staff gave us first class service. A great experience to be repeated The outside BBQ wasn't working
- Costanzo (9/5): -
- Bernard (8/5): Old world charm and very comfortable room. - It is a quaint old world hotel. Dinner was very good and reasonable price. no breakfast available but a short stroll to a cafe. Everything was good. Be prepared for the bore water aroma in the shower, but this is like everywhere else in the west.
- Rita (8/5): - quaint and cozy, like staying at nannas
- Brett (10/5): Great spot in Cunnamulla - Very helpful staff, we had car problems and they werr flexible with option, allowed us to use the room until it was fixed late in the day. Great meal in the restaurant Nothing
- Nathan (8/5): -
- Christopher (5/5): Not sure how it won an award. We and other guest found the staff not really wanting to be there. - Bed was comfortable Slippery bathroom floor tiles, don’t meet Building code. Cluttered rooms
- Tracy (9/5): - Lovely old style building. Great bathroom.
- Anthony (Tony) Owen (7/5): Impressive at first sight, but in need of upgrades. - Impressive rooms, restaurant, and gardens. Centrally located with ample free parking. clothes line to dry swimmers after thermal baths visit. Corridor noise which affected all rooms. Our shower saturated the bathroom flour and beyond. Restaurant quality is lacking.
- Fiona (9/5): Thoroughly enjoyable in a beautiful setting - Beautiful dinner at the restaurant and very friendly staff. Comfortable bed in a lovely room with old world charm
Beautiful L'Occitane products. Lovely gardens The shower floor was not sloped well enough to cope with the water which caused a bit of a flood and slippery floor in the bathroom and the shower head sprayed over the shelf causing more water to spray out.
- Jenelle (9/5): Great accommodation would stay again if travel through!! - Property was cleaned and comfortable with great friendly staff. We had to leave early and staff were more than helpful to give us a key to get our car out the gate early in the morning. Nothing to complain about.
- Cheryl (10/5): This was quite possibly one of the best nights we had during our whole outback adventure. - Where do I start...? Anybody planning on experiencing the Queensland Outback definitely needs to make this hotel a must do! We had a fantastic night glamping in the beautiful tents with luxurious (L'Occitaine!) toiletries, slippers, robes, etc. and felt absolutely pampered. We booked all three tents because we were travelling with family and we all had the most awesome time with a dinner around the campfire and a country and music singer who was an absolute character and really made the night. The owner went out especially during the day to buy marshmallows for the kids so that they could roast them over the fire after dinner. What a great night for them too. Would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anybody, especially if you're travelling with kids. I had a bit of a nosy look at the hotel rooms in the morning too, and these also looked absolutely gorgeous. It was a public holiday so there wasn't a lot open for food in Cunnamulla but we managed to find a hotel open over the road and the food was awesome. Our hostess told us that if we couldn't find anything for lunch, to come back and she would make us something. Amazing country hospitality!
- Maria (9/5): - A charming place, clean and comfortable. But what we loved the most was our interaction with Peieta, the manager. She was just wonderful, such a good, accommodating, generous person. She had made us always remember our Cunnamulla stay being such an example of human goodness and kindness.
- Jodie (9/5): -
- Eero (8/5): -
- John (4/5): -
- John (5/5): Ok - The Bougainvillea on the fence and the drink at the bar The doors between the room and the bathroom that didn’t work, the lack of any fan and only the small window (with no flyscreen) in the bathroom. The floor of the bathroom. The stinky water…
- Mariaelena (8/5): Loved our 2 nights here. Will definitely come back again. - The garden is beautiful. The rooms were furnished with old world charm; the bathroom was very large. Very clean rooms. Comfy bed. ( we stayed in room 2 for 2 nights)
We had dinner the first night in the garden with a musician for entertainment., very lovely evening, meal was good.
(Go to the artesian spa - worth $45 for the day, lots pools of varying temperatures , go early before it gets too hot, then go back later afternoon ( happy hour 4-6)
we also really enjoyed “ All Aboard” at the old train station. A quirky history of the town. Checkin was a bit odd - the place was locked up, no-one around. We found out later the sign directing you to the bottle shop next door had not been put out. It was just a small thing, thought I’d mention it so everyone will know to go to the bottle shop for the key.,
- Paul (10/5): - Absolutely beautiful olde world elegance. The rooms were amazingly beautiful and comfortable. I seriously didn’t want to leave. The inclusion of L’Occitane bathroom products exceeded expectation. The service was exceptional and food of the highest quality. The staff are friendly, proficient and helpful. I would l love to stay again.
- Darren (7/5): A convenient place to stay overnight while on the road. - The location was great and I appreciated having my car in a locked carpark yard overnight. The remote for the aircon didn't seem to function properly and I couldn't adjust the temperature.
I also didn't like the stench of the tap water, but I suspect that's an issue with the whole town and not the hotel.
A curtain for the window above the door would be a nice addition, as I wanted an early night, but the hallway light was extremely bright in my room.
- Jo (6/5): -
- Ross (10/5): -
- Danny (8/5): Glamping at its best - Glamping at its best. Exceptionally comfortable and very well equipped The shower had a leak that spilled out significantly onto the floor. However, this was a simple maintenance issue that they most likely were not aware of.. otherwise
- Mick (8/5): - A bit quirky and different in some aspects, but totally enjoyable. would definitely stay there again. Nothing
- Sam (8/5): Such a grand old property being treated as she deserves. A bit of a privilege to get to stay here. - The rooms were beautiful and the beds so comfortable. N/A
- Julie (9/5): would recommend :) - the room, the amenities provided, the bed, cleanliness, staff....all very good
- Brendan (8/5): Wonderful - Unique hotel, excellent host, magnificent Sunday roast , definitely stay there if your in Cunnamalla
- George (10/5): -
- Barbara (7/5): A memorable stay - The hotel had a lot of interesting features. The room was well equipped with added touches like bath robe and slippers. Dinner and drinks were served and were reasonably priced. The host was very friendly. All this made for a memorable stay. For the two of us with two suitcases the room was a little cramped. We would have been better off in one of the bigger rooms.
- Nixon (10/5): -
- Helen (9/5): A surprising find in outback Queensland. Very glad we stayed here. - The rooms were sumptuous and the bed very comfortable. The shower was hot and the L'Occitane products a delightful luxury. The buffet dinner was enjoyable and the whole place was very comfortable.
- David (8/5): -
- Olivia (10/5): -
- Rachael (9/5): - This was a memorable hotel, furnished beautiful in traditional style and antique furniture, very clean and comfortable, in the centre of Cunnamulla, with no more than 3 blocks walk to the hot pools, river, cafes, pubs. The hotel owner Pieta served up the best home-cooked meals each night. She also provided our welcoming complimentary ride from the aerodrome back into town, was our receptionist, chef, maître-de, bar maid, room service, and hotel manager, cleaner, Gardener, tour guide…
- Jenny (9/5): Quaint and comfortable. -
- Julie (10/5): Lovely overnight stay - The staff were lovely, very happy, helpful and friendly. Our room was beautiful, very old charm with lots of character. The bed was super comfortable and the bathroom was huge with great amenities. Dinner at the restaurant was delicious and there was a bonus of live music Loved everything
- Robyn (10/5): A welcome stay on a long journey. - Bieta and Vita made our stay a welcome respite from a long drive. From a comfortable , clean room with quality amenities to enjoyable dining - with live music , our stay was great . They went out of their way to provide us with information regarding our onward travel. Nothing to add.
- Burrows (6/5): Disappointed as the accommodation, although adequate, didn't live up to the advertising at the time. - I wasn't aware that breakfast was available. We stayed for one night in May 2025. My "bedside table" was a bar fridge (with all the tea/coffee making apparatus on top). I had to unplug it around midnight as the motor, right next to my bed, was keeping me awake. My partner's "bedside table" was a red velvet chair. Nowhere to put phone, glass of water, etc., next to the bed. Room was very small (compared to the converted verandah bathroom which was very large) so we left our suitcases in the car, not wanting to put them in the bathroom. Dinner at night was okay and home-cooked. The young man providing the musical entertainment in the restaurant was top-notch. The bathrobes in the bathroom were stiff-as-boards and scratchy, so they didn't get used. Dust-catcher ornate curtains over the door leading into the bathroom made the room seem even smaller. Less is more when it comes to decorating small rooms. It seems the advertising blurb has been changed (toned down) since I booked the room. Words like 'luxury' and 'white fluffy bath robes' had previously been used, so I was expecting the accommodation to live up to the advertising. Would I stay here again? Probably, but I wouldn't be expecting any level of luxury, just a very old bush pub in state of refurbishment. However, kudos to the owners for having a go in a town where most of the shopfronts are boarded up.
- Dave (7/5): Good -
- Darren (7/5): Beautiful, but small. - Pretty room, great soaps, shampoo etc, lots of tea choices (but no biscuits), cable tv (but no abc), large bathroom. No cold water in bathroom sink, no toaster or microwave, no wardrobe- only 1 hook to hang clothes on, exhaust fan in bathroom is tiny & not useful- you can open window but no fly screen, small bedroom.
- Amanda (5/5): Time travel to the past. - Clean sheets. Quirky. Flashback to another era. Interesting to stay here. It’s very dated. The rooms are quite small and I can imagine some people would have a hard time navigating small spaces.
- Libby (9/5): Superb -
- Ron (9/5): Superb - Very relaxing atmosphere, good food options, limited but adequate wine list.
- Frank (8/5): Very good -
- Anna (9/5): Superb -
- Helen (6/5): Adequate for one night. - Location was good in centre of town. Bed was comfortable but very creaky. Friendly staff. Onsite parking. New rooms looked amazing, much more modern. Very cluttered public rooms, and too much furniture in the bedroom.
- Hannah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Angie (9/5): A beautiful place to stay - Petriea was wonderful. The first night a roast ,with music around the camp fire was fantastic Need more space for the luggage
- Wendy (6/5): Cunnamulla - Room was clean and comfortable N/a
- Colin (9/5): Well appointed hotel with a different flavour - The room was interesting and our host provided a delicious meal.
The Sunday night campfire roast was great. Heating was a bit iffy.
- Mark (9/5): A real find in the Outback - A surprising gem in the outback. Very much a boutique experience. Nothing
- Kym (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mark (9/5): A gem in the Outback - It truely is a gem in the Outback of Australia. Very quirky with some very impressive old furniture, paintings, drapes and decor.
Very personable staff who also advised about activities to consider.
Will appeal to travellers who are looking for something different to conventional motels. nothing
- Kathryn (10/5): Exceptional - Our host Peieta was extremely helpful and welcoming. We originally booked for 2 nights but we were so comfortable we booked an extra night. The hotel was a delightful mix of old hotel charm and modern facilities. Some rooms were still a work in progress. The restaurant meals were top notch. The gardens were also fantastic for a quiet drink in the sun. We highly recommend and look forward to staying here again.
- Vic (8/5): Very good -
- Christopher (10/5): Exceptional -
- Raymond (8/5): Very good -
- Deb (8/5): Very good - Brand new spacious bathroom, comfortable bed and would recommend it for 1 night stay Bedroom was a bit small. We had breakfast there but the bacon was very burnt but the eggs and toast was fine.
The property looks better advertised than what it is but we could see that it may be a work in progress
- Hannah (10/5): Lovely. Will book again on my next trip to Cunnamulla for sure. - Really lovely! The rooms are full of character, the bathrooms have nice hot showers. Robes and slippers are supplied. The beds are comfy. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. There is also secure parking. Exceeded my expectations and I will definitely book again. No negatives!
- Lea (9/5): Lovely gem in Cunnamulla - Lovely hard working lady. Rooms were very individual, interesting and clean.
Toiletries were very good quality and in big containers, more environmentally responsible than the tiny single use packs
Dining room had live singer and the food was good.
- Martin (10/5): I would definitely recommend this hotel for the position, facilities, food and staff. - The owner, Pieta, was lovely and so accommodating, she made our stay thoroughly enjoyable. Our dinner was the best meal that we had during our trip and the live singer in the restaurant was great. The bed and the room were extremely comfortable. The position was great and very quiet.
- Graham (8/5): Very good -
- Dale (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, very friendly and helpful staff Nothing
- Bielinda (8/5): Very good - The staff and the high presentation of room decor and additional comforts The maintenance fire alarm went off a couple times during the night. Taps running in vanity
- Robert (8/5): Comfy old-fashioned hotel. - Lovely beer garden. Huge bathroom ensuite and L'occitano toiletries! We had nice meal at the bar, with live music! Our room had heritage decor but no desk/table and nowhere comfortable to sit. Would have liked bedside tables & lamps. The fridge was noisy and could have been relocated to the bathroom
- Ned (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kelly (10/5): Fantastic amazing - I am in my 60’s and have stayed many of places over the world . My second time here and o just bloody love it. The care the owner goes to and be able to work 10 meters to the restaurant attached with the best meal I’ve had in a long time. NOT A THING
- Dale (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mark (8/5): Very good - Location, meals, service .
- Joan (5/5): Disappointed - Location ok Very noisy in room with the music from the band and people running up and down the hallway. On booking.com states that room has soundproofing but I assure you it doesn’t.
- Dawn (10/5): Bougie glam comfort in a lovely small town - Peieta who runs the place was amazing great welcome and a great evening music show with a huge buffet which was excellent value and the food was great. The room was gorgeous and spotless and the shower fabulous after a few days on the road in a swag this was just what we needed. Nothing
- Connie (10/5): Lolforward to my next stay when passing thru - Lovely hotel still going thru some renovations. Friendly owner, great food, great location. Highly recommend.
- Deryck (10/5): Exceptional - Helpful staff.
- Strong (9/5): Superb -
- Ross (9/5): Superb -
- Leonie (7/5): Good -
- Kevin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mark (8/5): Very good - Friendly locals Smallish rooms
- Dean (9/5): Superb -
- Eula (8/5): Very good -
- Wendy (9/5): Superb - Everything
- Liz (10/5): A great experience - Beautiful property, with olde world features and fabulous staff, who made you feel like one of the family. Drinks and dinner available on the premises and close to the best activities in Cunnamulla. Lovely and well maintained gardens Nothing
- Karen (10/5): Excellent hospitality &facilities, wonderful vibe, great music and ppl. Would certainly stay again - The staff were absolutely lovely and welcoming. They welcomed us warmly as we arrived late. We ate in the restaurant both nights and enjoyed lovely dinners, full of veges (which can be hard to get when you're travelling!!). Thanks ladies, would stay again and your hospitality was great. This didn't effect my stay, however thought I'd let you know that the tapware is not secured to the sink (ie. can be lifted right out). I could still turn the taps but thought I'd let you know in case you aren't aware.
- Grace (10/5): Excellent - Everything
