• Mircea silviu (6/5): Not a great stay - When we arrive at the room the room had not been cleaned, there was hair everywhere, the condition of the room, which I took pictures of, was poor and no plug for the bath, I told the staff about the room and they cleaned it and apologised but this should have happened
• MARTIN (8/5): - We were in the area visiting relatives and needed somewhere to stay the night which was reasonably priced, although it wasn't particularly cheap, it was convenient and clean, and the chap in reception was very friendly and went out of his way to make us feel at home, all in all, it worked out well, we would stay again if the occasion arose.
• Thomas (10/5): hidden gem - It was a great stay! I wasn't expecting much because of the price but the room was modern, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was clean but the shower wasn't great. The restaurant attached to the hotel wasn't the nicest decor but the staff were great and the food was delicious! I'd definitely stay there again if I was in the area. thanks!
• Ruth (6/5): The bed was the only highlight - The bed was clean and comfy, all the furniture was dated, the bathroom was tiny, I had to wedge myself in between the sink and the wall to use the toilet (the sink was digging into my arm) the soundproofing was awful and the property needs a lot of updating, including frayed divan bases, all walls were scuffed and stained. There is parking (the listing says no parking), but the gym is a 5 minute drive away and is 'discounted' reception is not always open and the wifi was down, a discount in the resturant was offered instead. the outside areas are not at all appealing and the window looking out to it was tiny

• Linda (4/5): Not as advertised - The hotel was nothing like the photos on the website. The room was clean and large with coffee making etc and clean towels, but the restaurant was non existent! The bar area was filthy and the actual restaurant closed. I was offered food to be delivered to my room in a take-away box, which was a reasonable standard for take-away, but not for hotel service! I tried to order breakfast for the following morning, but no one answered the phone. The receptionist when I arrived was pleasant and helpful but their appearance was not that of the usual receptionist (as shown in their website). My room was outside, up a flight of metal stairs-no offer of help with luggage. In fact, the whole place looked as though it was closing down!, especially the restaurant.

• Alexander (8/5): 2nd stay so can’t be that bad - Stopped here for the 2nd time for work, overall a good comfortable hotel, only thing I don’t like is the blinds in the room, they don’t block out enough light, so if they changed those, would be more than happy. Great friendly prompt service, comfortable bed, shower/bath all good, good WiFi too.
• Verified traveler (6/5): Unchallant Attitude From Staff - The room was OK but the wall of the room was badly maintained. The paint was peeling off. The staff lied to me regarding the availability of breakfast and when I got ready for breakfast I was told there was nothing because of the time of the year. That was really annoying and disappointing.

Comfortable bed, tea, coffee, biscuits and hot chocolate provided as well as toiletries. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Very easy to park at the hotel. Only bad thing about the stay was the headboard in the room was scuffed and the location of the hotel isn't in walling distance to shops, restaurants etc. However the hotel has a bar and restaurant attached. Would stay again :)

• John (8/5): Motel not Hotel but worthwhile stay - Newly furnished and would describe more like a motel. Accommodation situated to the side , two storeys,steps to second floor. We had a family Room with two double large comfy beds with tea, coffee, cappuccino and hit chocolate supplied for our son. Slight problem with Electric shower tripping but resolved by helpful staff within minutes. Would stay again as it is near sons house.
• Phil (6/5): Ok, but not great. - Adequate hotel, although more of a motel style accommodation with each room having a front door onto a walkway. Room was clean and comfortable with plenty of towels and free beverages. However... there were some noisy people in the room below, drinking and singing until gone midnight, and in the morning there was no hot water. Thankfully the shower was an individual electric heat as you go shower, and I was able to shave in the shower by feel. The adjacent bar was “tired” and could do with some TLC.
• Kay (6/5): Great room shame about restaurant - The room was great, clean, well equipped, plenty of refreshments in room. However the joining restaurant was not so good, evening meal, food not cooked enough, hard potatoes , furniture uncomfortable. The next morning breakfast worse, only ricescrispes, no toast, no butter no staf to help. We walked out and found lovely cafe 2 mins down the road next to the train station called station cafe.
• Verified traveler (8/5): - Bed was very comfy. Bathroom door made a loud noise to close, because the bottom of the door needs shaving OMG. The desk chair was split material on the arms. The teabags were unkempt to look at, so used my own. Noisy other guests at 3 am in the morning. Overall good value for money, and we would stay again.
• Siddeeqa (10/5): HOT CHOCOLATE - Due to travelling long distance a 4 hour drive to get there, and unfortunately a accident on the m1 it meant I would not get there while 3am that’s 3 hours after reception closes. The receptionist made arrangements for me to be able to get into my room, they also left me with GALAXY hot chocolate pouches and bottled water. The receptionist called me and explained everything about how I would be able to check in to my room. I felt the service was above and beyond

• Autumn (10/5): Excellent Accommodation - The family room we stayed in was very comfortable, clean and well maintained. We had two large double, comfortable (possibly king-size) beds and the room was well equipped. I have to say this was in stark contrast to the run down, shabby on-site bar/restaurant - though this is not directly connected to the hotel accommodation, so is [thankfully] easily avoided . Rooms are cleaned daily and to a very high standard . Over all we were very pleased - especially given the reasonable price at peak season . The only issue was that the WiFi connection to our room was basically non-existent , but on balance it was well worth staying here.

• Sue (8/5): Great value for money - At a concert in Cardiff saturday night so booked here as less than 25 min drive from City Stadium. 3 bed room for ourselves and our adult daughter. Staff at check in really very helpful - let us check in early and advice on travelling. Room was basic but clean so what else is needed for a nights stay? Breakfast next day was good and late checkout till 12 noon was automatic which was a bonus. I would stay here again if in Cardiff.
• Jo (6/5): - The hotel itself was passable and we didn't expect too much as a two star. The room was serviceable. It did get very hot during the night & there was no thermostat. The TV remote didn't work but after a call to reception they explained how to use the controls on the TV itself. The tea/coffee tray was very well stocked. The walls are very thin between the rooms & we could plainly hear activity from next door which wasn't pleasant. The bar next to the hotel was very grubby and service wasn't good. We stood at the bar for at least 10mins waiting for someone to serve us. It smelt of smoke & very musky and the furniture was very shabby with the leather peeling of the seats and tables. We were staying for the Urdd eisteddfod & the location was great for getting to the Bay, an easy 10 min drive. There were also plenty of places to eat near to the hotel.

Great check in & check out times. Indian restaurant on the premises, nice breakfast & lovely setting with a bar too. Safe to I slept like a baby falling asleep watching tv on the big screen tv and extremely comfy bed with the LED lights on around the room. Great location too! Would highly recommend! A little gem!
• yan (8/5): Great stay apart from Breakfast - The rooms were good, the worst breakfast I have ever had, do not recommend that, hotel was fine, the service was good, just a pity the breakfast wasn’t up to scratch as we had to leave at 7:30, we were their at 7am, didn’t get the cooked breakfast until 7.32am, how disappointing.

• wayne (8/5): A room, just a room - Stayed here as we were visiting family in Pontyclun. Nice hotel on an industrial estate. This did not matter to us as we were being picked up each day. Big room and staff very friendly.
• David (10/5): Family 1 night stay - Upon arrival the man on reception was so friendly and helpful, went to room 3 which was immaculate, all mod cons were available and beds really comfy, was a little bit noisy with people from next door stood outside talking on telephone but was only for about 10 mins and was still reasonably early, free parking and WiFi was great and we tried the Indian restaurant which was really good food and service. Breakfast was good too and a decent selection , will stay again on our next visit

Only problem was a little bit far from town without a vehicle but no problem with staff in getting taxis into town and local areas. They do have a restaurant and bar on site. Would recommend a short stay anytime.

• Sophie (6/5): - On arrival we waited 15 minutes to be served in the bar. It was very messy, carpet dated, furniture very old and worn, had to phone a member of staff to be served. Drinks were served and tasted awful, my gin and tonic had no ice or lime in it my husbands pint tasted like it was off. We drank a couple of sips and left it. When going in to check in there was nobody on reception we had to ring the bell four times, receptionist wasn’t very helpful looked as though he couldn’t wait to get out of work. The room was ok, it smelt a little on arrival, the bathroom floor was flooded from the towel warmer leaking all over the floor, and it was very noisy. We were woken several times middle of the night to what sounded like people rearranging furniture. Overall, I don’t believe this stay was worth £150 per night at all; I think we were very overcharged for what we had. Would definately not stay again.
• Gareth (6/5): - Was surprised to arrive at a motel rather than a hotel. That bit is not stated in the information. The rooms are motel style, so your room’s door opens the big wide world, rather than an open corridor. Not really a problem but it was not what I expected. The room is mostly fine. The beds are good, the decor is good and there are plenty of cupboards and spaces for clothes and belongings. The tv was troublesome. The aerial did not work correctly and so the picture was constantly interrupted. A wiggle of the lead and a re-scan improved things but did not solve them. The bathroom had a few issues. The cold water taps make and extraordinary amount of noise. The hot water tap is incredibly slow. The bath feels a little flimsy when standing in it for a shower. The room/venue is not quiet. You hear your neighbours, the nearby traffic and the visitors to the bar/restaurant attached to the motel. Not horrendous, but you hear it. The windows are covered with blinds. Curtains would be more useful. Early morning sunlight floods the room through the blinds which meant we woke early both mornings when a lie in following a wedding would have been appreciated. I’ve looked at the publicity photos since the visit. They are a good representation of the rooms which are nice, but do not give the complete picture.

• Verified traveler (6/5): Cheap but Cheerful - Stayed here for an overnight stay after a Wedding at Hensol Castle. It was basic but comfortable and clean for what we needed. Staff were helpful and friendly but the Breakfast let it down.

The bracket to hold the shower head to the wall was broken so I had to hold it while showering which is a little tricky. There was no hairdryer in the room. But the bed was comfortable enough

Initially I was not impressed but once I got into the room, it wasn't so bad. Breakfast was not good. Wouldn't recommend paying for it. Overall, it was OK for 2 nights. My wife would not rebook though. She's a bit picky and she was not very happy.

It did smell of cigarettes a little and was so cold i slept fully clothed. We’d forgotten toothbrushes so the chap at reception provided those and seemed helpful enough. The bathroom was clean (but dated decor). We walked into the ‘restaurant’ and walked straight out again because it was literally a building site. I’m sure it will be ok once completed, or you judt need a bed for the night, but there’s not a lot else going for it currently unfortunately
• Chrissy (6/5): Simple but good hotel - On arrival we were greeted pleasantly. We had to pay an extra £10 for early arrival (by an hour) but to be fair it is a 12 0'clock check out so he did explain they had to get the room ready early. Quiet area but there are pubs/restaurants a short walk away and also a train station. We used the bus as we couldn't get on the train as was full due to the rugby being on. The room was clean bed was comfy. Tea/coffee facilities in the room and bottled water. We chose to pay for the breakfast form the morning which we instantly regretted once we walked in to the restaurant part of the hotel not to be greeted by anyone .. there was fresh orange juice tea/coffee facilities on a table. eventually a lady appeared from the kitchen still not greeted. A couple that came in after us was served first then decided to eventually serve us. The breakfast was rubbish, annoying when you have a long journey a head of you, this needs to be dealt with as lets the hotel down. I would recommend this hotel but would not recommend the breakfast to friends.
• Mr.S A (4/5): - It was clean staff are friendly , but bar was cold it closed at 10.15 because only 2 of us in the bar ,
• Jean (6/5): Only O.k. - We chose this hotel mainly for it's location. It is adequate for purpose. Plenty of parking, free Wi-Fi, comfortable bed although obviously well used. Loads of storage space. Not too keen on the shower curtain, and the shower itself is at the wrong end of the bath. Could do with more lighting over the bed area, only one bedside light. Attention to detail could have been better when refurbishment took place. Good for the price though.
• Dave (6/5): Nice rooms - Nice rooms..clean bedding but the bathroom had not been cleaned and my wife had to go and ask for cleaner and a cloth and clean it herself before we could use it.... The cups had not been cleaned either.....we were warned about the restaurant so went to the local pub instead... we did go in the bar but came out just as quick the smelll from the kitchens was awful and the whole place looks tired and in need of a good clean and a lick of paint

• Helen (8/5): - I found this hotel comfortable and clean , although there was no handle on the bathroom door it didn't spoil our stay . The restaurant attached did the most amazing curry I have ever. Would definitely stay here again
• Elliot (8/5): Great for the price - The guy at the front was pleasant and polite. The bed was very comfortable and the room had been recently renovated. Not too much in the immediate area other than commercial units, but if going somewhere near it is a good place to stay.
• Richard (10/5): Great motel alternative to rip off Cardiff - Clean family room for 4 persons. The train station is 10 min walk away that takes you right into cardiff central.
• Andrew (10/5): Great for business and more - Perfect for my needs. Was on business and it did not disappoint, wifi was ok and got a good mobile signal (02). Restaurant next door was good for Indian meal, didn't try the breakfast but it was £6 so you can't really grumble. TV was a good sized one and room well set out with coffee tea etc.
• Verified traveler (4/5): No Second Visit for Me ! - Not my type of hotel, if when booking I had seen rooms were separate in an American Hotel style I would have gone elsewhere, maybe the website needs to show photo not just restaurant photo. Hotel was in an industrial estate which was not to my liking. However the restaurant food was good and the staff were very nice. Breakfast was obscure, weird feeling sitting in an Indian restaurant fully ready for the evenings trade at breakfast ! also the whole lay out of breakfast was odd, couple of t bags, sachets of coffee and sugar in a basket, very "couldn't really care" way of presenting. Booked 4 breakfasts only took two.The rooms were not as pristine as on the website but bed linen and towels clean, rooms are bit tatty if you look closely. Guests in next room allowed children to run up and down metal stairs outside which was noisy and guests smoke just outside rooms which drifts in the windows. Reception was not same as photo on website don't know where the décor came from but smaller and completely different in décor ! All in all I won't be visiting again.
• Verified traveler (10/5): - Very enjoyable stay, with welcoming and helpful staff. Super comfortable bed in a very clean room.
• Steve (6/5): Friendly but tired - I suspect it was really nice when it first opened, now things are getting old, bits missing from the bathroom, carpet stained and burnt.
• Dan (2/5): Hotel of disapointment - On arrival I was told the restaurant would be open that evening when I arrived at reception I was told to go somewhere different as they were only catering for a party , Also I was told Breakfast would be served at 7.00 I ventured down at 7.30 both reception door and Breakfast room were locked .... no sign of anyone !!
• ali (6/5): Basic but nice - Stayed for 1 night, rooms are ok but in need of a referb... and smell like mould... however the beds are comfy and we needed it as a bed for the night so it suited a purpose... the shower wasn't great as it didn't stay in place so you needed to hold it to shower... on checking the guy was friendly and offered us breakfast which we took but on arrival to breakfast no one was to be seen until a lady walked through and said she closed breakfast as the contractors had all been ( it was 8 am when we got there) she did reopen everything but it all seemed a little disorganised... food was ok but the hash browns had clearly been fried in the same oil as the onion bargies ... parking is good and it's good for concerts at the principality stadium...
• brian (8/5): Not quite on the button - The hotel served its purpose as a stop over for a trip to Cardiff. The room was clean and comfortable. We had a meal in the Indian restaurant which was very good the only problem was the lack of staff, only the manager who was barman and waiter. The same person was on duty for breakfast the next day only this time he had to cook as well, we had to keep asking for things as he had no time to replenish them. Unfortunately this spoiled the stay.
