- Evette (2/5): - Stay away from this property at all cost! We had a late nite check in and our room was not cleaned at all before we got there. As soon as we walked in the room it had a weird small to it. Lets start with the bathroom. The glass cup on the bathroom sink still had crusty toothpaste spit inside and dripping the sides of the cup. The toilet had urine and pubic hairs on the seat. The toilet base was filthy with urine, dirt, hair and animal droppings. The floor around the sink and toilet was filthy. The window above the tub had clusters of mold and dirt all over. There was mold all around the tub and walls.The overhead shower didnt work at all. The tub spout spit out enough water for a birdbath. The towels were dirty and had moldy smell to them. In the livingroom and bedroom the carpet was dirty, sticky and had an unexplainable odor. The beds were extremely uncomfortable. They advertise that they serve breakfast, however zero breakfast was offered. We tried several times to reach the on site staff however no one responded. Needless to say, It was a horrible overnight stay. I would highly recommend that expedia remove this property from their listings.

Upon check-in, I was informed that the breakfast option is not currently available. The room was small, the bathroom was dirty with mould on the walls. The toilet had no lid. The walls were extremely thin. The "garden view" showed an unkempt mess with trash and weeds abundant. Completely misleading listing.

Need to deal with bathroom mould issues and minor window maintenance. Overall, good stay close to Gatwick for the price.

- natasha (8/5): Comfortable place to lay your head. - I picked this hotel because i thought it was fairly close to the train station, it's not. It's about a 25 minute walk. The hotel is clean and quiet. The beds are comfortable, and the bathroom is very clean. We were on the 3rd floor and there is no elevator, but the concierge carried my suitcase up the 3 flights. The staff is very polite and helpful. I didn't realize there was a breakfast available, it is very basic though. If you want more, there is a Sainsbury's Express across the street. This is a good place to rest your head.

- Dewain (10/5): Perfect place for a family! - Our flight landed earlier than check-in time and we were super lucky that our room was ready for us. They were so gracious and accommodating to allow us to go in early! Our room was larger than expected (for 7 people instead of 5) so we were very comfortable. We are so grateful to have found this place and will absolutely want to go back if we return to London! (They are 5min by car from the Gatwick Airport, about 20min by bus on line 400; and then a little more than 1h from London. We ate at a nice fish and chips restaurant nearby and there were other restaurants within walkable distance. Convenient location too!)
- Emilia (4/5): - The bathroom was opposite the room and was in extremely poor condition. Taps broken. Shower was very dirty. The side stands on our bedroom were falling apart. You could hear ever noise as there was a big gap in bottom of the door. Barely slept and I recommend the property gets a handyman to fix all the broken bits around. I would have spoken to someone but there was no one at reception at when we checked out.

The free continental breakfast was also the perfect thing for a traveler on a tight timeline. However, for me, the best part was after checking in rather late my bags were carried up to my room for me. I knew they didnt have an elevator and understand many old buildings in Europe dont, but after a very long day plagued by delayed flights this was very much welcomed and appreciated

- Deirdre (2/5): Dump .. NOT a Hotel. - This place is not a hotel. It is a dirty hovel. Smels of sewers in bathroom as the bath and sink are taled into sewer line. Beds are manky. I have a video to prove it. No bar. No food. It is a dump. 1/2 a chicken in box on the ground at front door.

It was also very noisy in the night with people loudly going up and down stairs and in the reception area and cars going back and forth from the hotel gravel forecourt. The chap on the reception was very nice and welcoming on arrival but no-one was on duty during the night.

The cupboard top hasn't been dusted, duvet sheet was ripped and revealed a very natty duvet filling in need of changing. the bed felt like it was broken in half to the point we needed to put our pillows at the foot end and sleep with our legs at a decline angle. For a quick no frills kip before an early flight, go for it, anything else, just don't.

- Jonathan (2/5): Disgusting - my staff was here over night as i booked it myself the stay was a disgrace, the room was disgusting plugs hanging off the wall, mould on my bed sheets, black marks on carpet, no handles on drawers, there bed had collapsed, and the window was hanging off, i now have all pictures of everything mentioned, The lads or any of our staff will not be returning. Ignore pictures they advertise on here as these are not true, its false advertising, I hope this matter gets sorted. I will be asking for a full refund, This is NOT hotels.com fault we stay in a lot of hotels with them due to work they are unaware of what's happening and this defiantly should be removed.
- Ted (2/5): - We had to stay at this property last minute due to flight changes. We are a traveling family if 4 and it is challenging to find a family room in London. We were able to obtain a family room in this inn. However the hotel is old, needs repair, the carpets are disgusting and we did not take off our socks or shoes in the room. The bed had a spider in it when I opened the covers. The covers and sheets were white but there was no mattress pad and you could see stains on the mattress. The tea kettle had mold and the refrigerator smelled of mold. When we pulled into the Inn late at night it was a little scary with the area and other people booked at the hotel. The whole experience was not good and I was glad we were only there for 7 hours and back to the airport for our flight out. Would not recommend this hotel.

- Verified traveler (8/5): Tucked away peaceful stay - Google Maps makes the place a little difficult to find, but the staff is helpful and friendly when you do arrive. The room offered a lot of ventilation and storage space. An overall good experience.
- Ashley (6/5): - Only good for an early flight. No other reason to stay here. I knew that going in. Bathroom down the hall. Didnt know that but i have experienced that before. It was clean but the room was smelly. Didnt know about the shuttle but there is a city bus a block away to go to Gatwick.
- Heather (4/5): Hard to be positive - The receptionist was cheerful and engaging. The room was dire. The mattress was worn out and the curtains/ nets didn’t fit properly. The bed linen was clean but the room is in serious need of refurbishment. Two stars is ambitious. Would never stay here again.
- Simon (6/5): Ok for sound sleepers - The curtains in my room were hanging off. I had to do a little repair job. The windows let a lot of traffic noise in which made it impossible to get a good night's sleep. On the plus side, It's about 10/15 mins from Gatwick airport

- Giordana (2/5): Loud and dirty. Never again. - We were very disappointed with the room. Lots of things were broken or not working, cushions and blankets had dirty marks all over it, very uncomfortable without bedside tables and reading lights but worst of all our room was just outside reception and we were woken up twice by loud people waiting for a long time to check in. We literally got no sleep as we difficulties falling asleep after the noise. Never again!
- Shane (10/5): - Showed up early and they gladly cleaned the room early for me, already had me booked in as a free upscale. It’s about an hour walk from the airport. Small grocery store right across the road.
- Verified traveler (2/5): just, no. - incredibly misleading on basics. theres no shuttle, breakfast isn’t served till 7 so if you have an early flight forget it. the bathrooms aren’t private, they’re shared. tv didnt work, no heat, and no interior locks to the rooms which was very weird and scary. I wouldn’t stay here alone or at all- we checked in late for an early flight so we were there for only 5hrs and it just wasn’t worth it. A hostel would feel more clean and safe, also the shuttle service listed (the reason we chose this place) doesn’t exist.

- Carina (6/5): Not very good but nice staff - I didn't love the place as there is no lift which is hard if you have luggage. The room was not very clean and bed not very comfortable. The heater in the room also was not working very well and I am a cold person. However, the staff (a gentleman) at reception was very nice and helpful and provided me with a portable heater and helped me carry my luggage. So it was ok since I only stayed for a night and the staff really helped but otherwise the place is not very good.

- Verified traveler (6/5): “Okay” for a one night stay, but very grubby. - Staff were somewhat grumpy, was not very helpful with where to park the car (£5 charge, said free but limited availability online) and filling out check in forms. The bedroom had a few quirks, the head board was broken as well as some sticky stuff over the table and the carpet was quite grubby. It was fine for a place to sleep for the night but I wouldn’t spent more than one night there. Limited plug sockets and questionable holes in the walls. Check out was also quite confusing, we weren’t too sure what to do. However the shared bathroom was very nice- which was a nice surprise as shared bathrooms are not normally that nice. It did have a Sainsbury’s across the road which was useful.

- Connor (4/5): The shatwick inn - Bedsheets looked like they hadnt been changed from previous occupants the carpet alone looked like it needed to be ripped up and replaced as the amount of stains n grit was just disgusting it was more like going to a crack house than a hotel we had sweaty greasy Staines on the wall above the bed where the headboard should of been. The guy at reception was walking around barefooted only put shoes on the attend to us at the front desk and the car park was like the aftermath of a festival the amount of balloon canisters everywhere was a joke. No wonder it’s cheap never again I’d rather pitch up at the bus stop for the night
- Sandra (4/5): Really cold and thick dust - Initially we thought wow on arrival as separate lounge to bedroom and bathroom seemed modern, as the night wore on, we spotted more problems. No hand towel in the bathroom, had to sit oddly on toilet as wrong lid fitted.?See photos, they sum it up better than words. I woke at 5am as freezing, I emailed 24 hour reception to ado what time the heating came on, no one replied to both emails I sent. I figured I'd have a hot bath but plug broken 🙈 The room painting was hilarious, my 10 year old could have painted better. It really needs just basic things like dusting, a decent duvet to cover an adult!, a decent duvet cover and new curtains. Thick dust is unforgivable. They did leave tea, coffee and milk with a packet of biscuits per guest.
- Paul (4/5): Awful! - Was originally shown to the basement room. It stunk, has black damp stained walls and no windows. Immediately asked to be upgraded. Was then given a 5 single bed room, which had an inbuilt cupboard, with the back sellotaped on. After hearing squeaking coming from the cupboard, i looked in and wall able to look up the whole inner wallspace. The squeaking was chicks in a nest.. literally sounded like they were in the room with you. The sound of the road outside was also horrible and the corridors stunk on curry. Be aware that this is a half way house as we could hear people talking to staff about being behind in rent. Really not a good place to stay

I was particularly grateful that the hotel staff person had been working for a week straight without breaks because of the COVID 19 crisis, trying to help out stranded travelers. He was very kind and helpful, and helped me book a taxi to Heathrow airport since my flights were cancelled out of Gatwick the following day. In times like these, the kindness of strangers means a lot. I got back home safely, thanks to the hotel staff, and many others who continue to work and help foreigners and travelers. Thanks so much.

Poorly maintained property, bare minimum in regards to amenities. A bed to sleep in but not much more than that. Very terrible wifi. I would only recommend for one night before catching a flight if no other options are available.
- F.B (8/5): - Very close to the main road. Great service with staff, always greeted with a smile. The wifi was horrible. Especially from being out of the country wifi was a crucial factor when picking a place to stay in this area. You would basically have to stand outside of your room or by the door to get really good wifi, any farther in the room had little to no connection/service. Also the free breakfast is only included for 1 day, if you want another breakfast its 2.99 which isn’t bad at all, just slightly false advertising.

Wifi signal to weak to reach our rooms location, light over sink inop. Breakfast? Hope you like cereal and toast. Second worst stay of our trip, have certainly paid less for more.

- Verified traveler (6/5): - I liked the spacious room and how quiet the area is. Right opposite a Sainsbury’s local which was nice. Disappointed with the temperature of the room as it was very cold, we slept with our coats on, after asking if we could have the heat turned up, nothing was done about this. The TV also requested a PIN number to watch normal channels so a member of staff took a while to get it sorted for us (reboot was needed). To our surprise once getting into bed we notice brown marks on the white bed covers, we didn’t want to cause another fuss so we didn’t report it. In the end we turned the covers upside down to sleep on top and used the spare quilt that was in the wardrobe. Again with stains on. Little things like this made the stay uncomfortable although with a little bit more effort and care this hotel Inn would be wonderful.
- GRAHAM (4/5): Disappointing - Had to share a bathroom with 4 other rooms. TV in the was useless as a 150mm X 300mm section of the screen was black. Loft conversion room very crampped. £5 parking fee which is not explained when booking. Whole place smelt of curry. Heating went off at midnight

The shared bathroom was on the next floor. IF a person has luggage get help moving it as the stairs are narrow. The owner is a nice person and it seemed he played "bait and switch" as after learning of my disappointment he offered a much nicer room on the main floor for double what we had paid. The street is a very busy one and not desirable for walking which is needed to get to the only restaurant in a reasonable walking distance. I would not recommend

- Andrew (8/5): - This is a quaint English inn near Gatwick airport. They do park and Fly from the property. There is no lift so luggage cn be an issue. They have continental breakfass. Rooms can be smaller but well appointed.
