- laf640 (8/5): A nice hotel that is loosing outstanding employees...Why? - I would like to take a moment to recognize Nicole S., who recently left the Hyatt at Dewey Beach. She is truly outstanding—a strong leader, dedicated professional, and incredibly hard-working individual. Nicole consistently went above and beyond, often working long hours over many years to ensure the property was well maintained and that staff performed at their best. She was always present, walking the property late into the evening and making sure everything ran smoothly.
What made Nicole especially valuable was her professionalism and authenticity—what you saw was exactly what you got. She treated guests and staff with kindness and respect while maintaining high standards.
It is very unfortunate that she is no longer there. In recent years, it seems that several experienced and dedicated employees have been let go, which is disappointing. My husband and I have been visiting this property since it first opened, and we have noticed a decline that is reflected in recent reviews.
One concern is the change in the pet policy. Previously, there was a designated floor for guests with dogs, which helped accommodate those with allergies or sensitivities. Now dogs appear to be allowed on every floor, and it feels less controlled.
It is truly a shame to see long-standing, meaningful employees replaced, especially those who contributed so much to the quality of the property. I hope management reconsiders its direction and that positive changes are ahead.
- Bapenj (8/5): Conventient Dewey Beach Getaway - Nice hotel with friendly staff. Easy walking distance to some of the best bars and restaurants in Dewey, as well as beach and bay access (but the whole town is two blocks wide, so that's true of most of it).
Room was surprisingly large for the price, with an included sitting area for hosting other friends who had come down for the same event. It seems luck of the draw, but if you get a room with a shower rather than a tub, it's a very well appointed bathroom.
Of note: while it's easy enough to reach the adjoining Lighthouse Bar and Grill by exiting through the lobby and going down the driveway, the indoor route is a rather poorly signed maze of hallways through the condo portion of the building with multiple elevators that don't stop on all floors. If you reach one elevator, the fire escape plan is enough of a map to help you find the others.

- SpanishteacherMD (10/5): Super awesome hotel in Dewey Beach - Our first time in the Delaware Beaches. We found this place, easy to find right on Coastal Highway. Lovely front desk staff, very quiet with a huge lobby. Atmosphere was very welcoming and inviting. Our room was roomy and spotless. Huge bathroom with plenty of towels and space. Super excellent value for the location. Literally one block west of the beach. Parking included right under the hotel but at street level. In and out as much as you want. This place is awesome and would stay here again without question. Central to everything and walkable to everything in Dewey Beach. Two-minute drive to Rehoboth and about a ten-minute drive to Bethany. Highly recommend and we look forward to returning soon.
- Christopher (10/5): The Hyatt Place in Dewey beach is one of favorite places to stay. - Love the location, the staff was awesome and the room was very comfortable. No complaints at all.

From the incredibly comfortable beds to the delicious breakfast, every detail exceeded our expectations—there’s truly nothing negative to say. Mia provided outstanding service from check-in to check-out and made our experience even more special.
We also loved that the hotel is pet-friendly, which made our trip even better. The ocean is just minutes away, but honestly, the bayside views right by the hotel were just as beautiful—and only steps from our room.
We will definitely be staying here again the next time we visit Dewey/Rehoboth!

- Lisa (9/5): We had loud guys next to us so the front desk moved us which was great. - Great location There was a lot of hair in the pool.
- Happy3671 (10/5): Great Stay - Hotel is great location right on the bay with the beach across the street. Parking is easy using the parking garage which is under the hotel. Staff was super friendly.
- 758dawnmarier (10/5): Friendly Staff That Make Every Visit Special - I just wanted to recognize Lindsay and Mia at the front desk, along with the entire front desk team.
As we live in Ocean City, NJ and frequent the Hyatt Dewey quite often to visit family and friends, it truly feels like home to us when we are there. We will be there again on March 12 and will continue to frequent throughout the summer months, as we basically travel there throughout the year.
The hotel has such a welcoming and warm feeling, and you never feel overwhelmed like some larger hotels can make you feel. It has a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere that makes every visit enjoyable.
Every time we return, they are always smiling and genuinely happy to welcome us back. It immediately sets the tone for a great stay and makes us feel truly valued as guests.
Their warmth, professionalism, and positive energy truly make a difference. They are always helpful, attentive, and eager to assist with anything we may need. They consistently help make sure we are comfortable, often helping us with our favorite rooms and making every visit seamless and enjoyable.
It is clear they take great pride in what they do and in making guests feel welcomed and appreciated. The entire front desk team, both men and women, creates such a warm and inviting atmosphere.
And as we all know, guests can sometimes be a little challenging, but they always handle everything with patience, grace, and a smile, ready to help in any way they can. You would never even know if they were having a difficult day themselves, because their kindness and professionalism never waver.
Thank you, Lindsay and Mia, and the entire front desk team, for your exceptional hospitality, professionalism, and the kindness that greets us each time we arrive. You truly make every stay feel special and appreciated.
We also experienced something that truly showed the level of care and professionalism of the staff. A piece of jewelry was misplaced that had been given to my dear friend by her father before he passed away, so it holds tremendous sentimental value.
The manager personally took the time to help search for it. He moved furniture, looked in every possible place, and genuinely tried to help us find it. To us, that level of kindness and effort is truly going above and beyond the call of duty.
It meant so much to see someone take the time to care about something that was so important to us. That kind of thoughtfulness and dedication is rare and very much appreciated.

- derrickd880 (10/5): Snow storm lodging at its best! - Hyatt Place Dewey Beach delivered superb hospitality during a major snowstorm and power outage. Reduced local rates, a warm welcome, and team members coming in off-schedule to serve hot meals — that’s true community leadership. Grateful for their care when it mattered most.
- FirstSarntTommy (10/5): They really stepped up - This area was hit with a blizzard of historic proportions that knocked out power to thousands of homes. The Hyatt Place in Dewey Beach, normally at minimum staffing during winter, offered a special snow rate of $69 per night and welcomed us and all of our neighbors. They even had hot food waiting for us as we checked in, and they managed to get a lot of their staff in.
Nice room, great staff, and terrific price, all when they were needed the most. Definitely consider the Hyatt if you're comong tot he Rehoboth Beach/Dewey Beach area.

- ivanfernandoc2026 (2/5): Critical Areas for Improvement in Hotel Guest Services - I am writing to formally express my disappointment regarding my recent stay at your hotel, which I had hoped would be a memorable experience as it coincided with my wife’s birthday weekend. Unfortunately, from the very first night, our expectations were not met due to several concerning incidents.
On our first night, as we prepared to go to bed, my wife discovered that one of the blankets had visible blood stains. We immediately contacted reception and requested a replacement, which was provided, but this initial issue set a negative tone for our stay.
The following morning, we went to breakfast and found that there was only one waffle machine available, resulting in an excessively long queue. Later that evening, my wife and I briefly left our room to purchase food, leaving our children inside. Within ten minutes, our eldest son called us because the bathroom door had locked itself and he was unable to open it. We returned promptly and discovered that the glass door’s lock would engage automatically if the door was closed forcefully, which posed a safety concern.
On the next day, we arrived for breakfast at 8:30 AM, well within the stated serving hours until 9:30 AM. However, there were no scrambled eggs, sausages, or waffle mix available. Upon inquiry, a staff member assured us that more food would be brought out shortly. After approximately fifteen minutes, they provided hamburger-like meat instead of sausages, boiled eggs, and pancakes. Given these circumstances, we ultimately decided to dine outside the hotel, despite having paid for breakfast as part of our stay.
Additionally, upon check-in, we received a notice stating that housekeeping would enter our room for cleaning, yet during our three-day stay, no such service was provided.
Most distressingly, at the end of our visit, my wife slipped and fell in the hotel parking area due to uncleared ice. We had to cut our trip short to seek medical attention for her. X-rays revealed she suffered a wrist sprain, and her hand is now immobilized.
Overall, this series of unfortunate events resulted in a very poor experience, especially considering the special occasion we were celebrating. I kindly request that you review these matters and take appropriate action to ensure future guests do not encounter similar issues.
- Glew (10/5): - Close to beach
- jaime (9/5): -
- Michael (10/5): The staff was very friendly. The room was very spacious and accommodate all of our needs. I would definitely stay there - Great location had a bar restaurant a pool and the staff was friendly Nothing
- Voyage789231 (10/5): Enjoyable Stay - The decor in the hotel and the energy of the staff were good, making my stay feel pleasant. My room was clean and spacious. Garage parking is included which made coming and going really easy. The beach is walking distance from the hotel.
- Ashley (6/5): - The sofa, mattress, and the pillows were too hard.
- Javier (7/5): Pleasant convenient place to stay for vacation - Easy to find
Very close to the ocean
Fitness center Rug was not properly vacuumed and I stepped on children's cereal, barefoot
Advertised free breakfast on website but it came out of the incidentals, we were only told no free breakfast when we arrived, not a game changer though
- Jennifer (10/5): Top notch staff, location and facility. - Staff excellent and great location. Easy to get around. We love staying here.
- Dawnmarie (5/5): - Friendly staff, clean bed Location, no curbside appeal and parking.
- Minton (10/5): -
- Liam (3/5): Not worth the price - Location was great, staff was decent Extremely expensive for subpar facilities. Only paying for location
- Laurie (10/5): -
- Babak (6/5): - Location Rate compare to what I got. Waiting for the room until 4 pm , room with no view and sun light at all. A lot of fees added to my invoice. The rate should be fixed and no more fee after booking. The experience of booking hotel with booking.com wasn't good.
- TOWANDA (7/5): It was a great location but the room gave me anxiety because of no windows. - Timely manner of check in and upon arriving they provided fruit, cheese and champagne for the celebration. The walls were thin. You could hear everything in the other room and there was a crying baby. The room did not have a view of outside. The view was of the cafe.

- mh1341 (8/5): Nice hotel overall - We stayed at this hotel to attend a family function. The hotel is located right on the beach. It has parking in an attached garage. Our room was nice size and for the most part clean. There was some toothpaste or something splattered on the upper part of the mirror. My issue was with breakfast. Most hotels that I have stayed at provide a free basic breakfast. Hyatt charges $11. If I am going to pay that much to serve myself, I would rather go to a restaurant, pay a little more and get served. Which we did.
- Autumn (10/5): -
- Stephanie (10/5): Great place - The staff was super friendly, the hotel is nice and inviting. There was used soap in the shower which im sure was just a mishap as the rest of the room was very clean.
- F. Scott (9/5): - Room, staff,Restaurant, The Lighthouse. Direct TV was wonky
- slmensch1 (8/5): Great stay. - Loved the Hotel and the staff.
This is the 3rd year we have stay during the holidays... Was EXTREMELY disappointed in the breakfast and that it is not included in the stay when in the past it was and when it had on the website "Buffet Breakfast - Start your day with a delicious buffer breakfast - a rare find in the area". After complaining, they did include the breakfast in our stay.. I would NEVER have paid $11 per person for the breakfast they provided though.... Never worth $11 a person. Very Disappointed.
- Valerie (10/5): - Lovely hotel! Kind and helpful staff!
- 141andelanian (2/5): Room very nice - thin walls though - We reserved two nights at Hyatt Place for New Years Eve 2025 and the day after. We arrived around 1:30 a.m. to the garage - we were told there would be luggage trolleys in the garage; there were not. We had a room with a King bed - no pets, nonsmoking. There was a tag for the door (like the do not disturb) to let housekeeping know that there is a pet inside - which indicates to me this is a room that had pets in it before. This is a warning to anyone with dog/cat dander allergies - the room has furniture/area rug that may contain dander. Dogs abound - it is a very Pet Friendly Place. The lobby floor is also filled with synthetic scents and it smells like the hallway carpets have been doused in synthetic carpet odor powders. BEWARE ASTHMATICS AND CHEMICALLY SENSITIVE PEOPLE.
The room itself is VERY nice, spacious, very clean (except under the bed, my husband dropped something and had to grab it under the bed...he said it looks like it has never ever been vacuumed or cleaned). The linens, bedding, and pillows were very comfortable. Again, for chemically sensitive people - the sheets/pillowcases all had very strong bleach smell, not the barely bleach we've all experienced in hotels. The pillows themselves were comfy as was the bed. Nice that there was an extra blanket in the very large closet that does have hangers with clips, an iron and ironing board, and a luggage rack. There is a hair dryer of course in the bathroom. Overall, it is very well appointed with a super nice sitting room area.
The bathroom was quite spacious and a very nice shower with good water pressure. The towels were great. Soap is scented. The bathroom door is a very heavy glass sliding door - it is very easy as you open/close it to accidentally slide too hard, and it clangs. So does the heavy glass sliding door on every single room near you - all night long. The people next to us had their television blaring at full volume - fine for them - but the walls are incredibly paper thin. We could hear them talking - not quiet murmurs but actual conversation (though thankfully not exactly what they were saying). The phone didn't work to call the front desk (probably operator error) so I finally found the number and asked the front desk to call the room and ask for them to turn the TV down. It was a nightmare night of sleep due to the thin walls and evidently someone who needs a VERY LOUD tv (we realize the hotel staff only have so much control over things like this... but thicker walls gives more wiggle room on loud neighbors). To be fair, we were on the lobby floor; maybe a higher floor room would be more quiet.
Nonetheless, if you want a good nights sleep, bring ear plugs. We decided to leave a day early and appreciated that they let us out of the next day reservation without charging us and were very appropriately apologetic about the noise. They can't help the thin walls.
This is likely a really great place for the majority of people to stay, especially in off season when less people are staying there. - the thin walls and noise I suspect this may be a problem regularly because of thin walls but it may be that the folks that stay there regularly know what to expect and come prepared. The room itself really is very nice!
- Amanda (6/5): - Our room was 74 degrees though set to 70. We went to the front desk twice to have it resolved. The first person we spoke to was very nice and said she would talk to the engineer when they arrived at 7. When we went to follow up after breakfast the next person only offered the suggestion of turning it off and on again. She didn’t realize that the room wouldn’t cool without having the ability to use the air conditioner. It was disappointing since this was one of the rare opportunities we could sleep in without kids but the room was too hot to sleep.
- Brian (10/5): - Great location. Spacious room.
- zaks893 (10/5): Regular Work-Trip Visit - I travel up this way about 4-5 times a year on average. I almost always stay at this hotel. Staff is always excellent and accommodating. Rooms are always in great condition. Never had any issues that weren't immediately addressed. Always a Great Stay.
- Olivia (10/5): - Staff was very kind and attentive and the property was beautifully decorated and cared for!
- stephanierT2712VG (10/5): Friendly employees - Great hotel, extremely friendly staff. Indoor heated pool (still too cold for me but the kids absolutely loved it). We stayed just for one night to visit Shellville. The hotel is close to all places; beach, boardwalk, Ocean City, Rehoboth, etc.
- Kim (9/5): -
- Stephanie (9/5): - The staff were all incredibly friendly and kind. My only complaint would be there was old used soap in the shower dish. I am sure it was just overlooked as the rest of the room was clean.
- Stephanie Showell (5/5): -
- kevin (10/5): -
- Drew (5/5): - Location and front desk staff when we checked in good. After that, downhill. The alarm went off at 6 a.m. my husband got up and showered and went out. I got up at 6. No shampoo in holder at all, zilch. Of course, neither one of us knew this until we were in the shower with a wet head.
These things are easily corrected. If the staff when I left gave me a look, I could have told them they could have apologized and I would stay there again.
I will not make that mistake again.
- Sharon (9/5): - I didnt like that they now charge for breakfast, was free the last time we stayed here.
- Christopher (10/5): Comfortable stay, central to beaches, restaurants and nature preserves - Great safe parking, close to all kinds of restaurants and the beach, super friendly staff, large and comfortable room, great value during the winter (off) season
- JenniferJ3336 (4/5): No rest for the weary - Loud partiers. Guess I should have known better staying in Dewey Beach. I thought since it was the Hyatt & off season it wouldn’t be a concern. Also, it’s pet friendly, so if you don’t want to be woken up by people’s dogs barking, whining & playing catch in the hallway, go somewhere else.
- MercyM763 (10/5): The Ideal Spot to Reconnect with Loved Ones - The Hyatt Place at Dewey Beach is a wonderful, comforting place to relax, unwind, and reconnect with loved ones. I absolutely loved my stay and can’t wait to come back again next year!.
- Clare (10/5): - Location No longer offering complementary breakfast
- Brandon (9/5): -
- Holly (10/5): There for my 35th class reunion. Entire weekend from room to staff to food to venue - EXCELLENT - Clean beautiful N/a
- kimbU3863CM (10/5): Great space and view! - Great event space. Condo was awesome. Lots of space and perfect view of water and sunset. Staff was wonderful. Parking was easy.
- bethanysT3684MQ (10/5): Best place to stay in Dewey! - I come here every year for our annual conference. Great place to stay. Friendly, helpful staff, rooms are clean and parking is easy. It's walkable to restaurants/bars and the beach.
- fabrewin (10/5): Top Notch Dewey Beach Hotel - My wife and I have been staying at the Hyatt Place Dewey Beach every year for the past 10 years while attending the Rehoboth Beach Jazz Fest. It is a gem located next to the Rusty Rudder Restaurant and also jazz venue and the bay! The ocean is also within walking distance! The hotel staff are friendly and the rooms are clean and spacious with separate seating area. Breakfast is included and hotel has large lobby area for eating or watching sports on big screen TVs. Highly recommended!
- Voyager596612 (8/5): Two night weekend stay during Rehobeth jazz festival - We visited midoctober to attend the Rehobeth Beach jazz festival. The hotel front desk and buffet staff were welcoming, friendly and attentive. The rooms were clean , but it was the first time we experienced not having a body lotion in a hotel room to use. Also breakfast should be included in the overnight stay like several other 3 star hotels .The pool area was attractive, and the pool water was slightly warm which was a nice surprise . The lighthouse restaurant staff were excellent, and the food there was delicious. Overall the stay was good and the location is great, because the hotel sits by the bay where there is a quiet tiny beach area and small boardwalk and Dewey beach is only a short walk away (one block over).
- barry304 (10/5): Great Visit 5 years in a Row! - Had a great visit and was treated like a family member by every staff member. This is really important since we stayed for 20 days.
- Global577156 (10/5): Best hotel we have stayed in. - This hotel had the best service, staff, and food. We felt very safe there. The room was also clean. Definitely stay there again.
- Andrew (9/5): We liked it and would stay here when we come back and would definitely recommend it. - Clean, great location, close to the beach and bay, many restaurants and bars within walking distance. Overall a very good facility - good breakfast and amenities. The pool was like a big wading pool. It was only 3 1/2 feet deep at the deep end.
- zbdzqq (10/5): Comfortable stay beyond expectation - I had a very good stay at Hyatt Place Dewey Beach overall. First, I want to highlight Mia at the front desk, she was incredibly helpful and even upgraded my stay, which I truly appreciated. The hotel itself is well maintained, the Tesla destination charger worked perfectly, and housekeeping did a nice job refreshing the room everyday.
That said, there are a couple of areas for improvement. The biggest issue was noise: trash trucks and delivery trucks for the hotel and nearby restaurants come at all hours, and I was woken up as early as 5:30 a.m. one morning. It definitely disrupted the otherwise relaxing atmosphere. Additionally, the pool could use some attention, the water quality wasn’t as good as I would have expected.
Overall, the staff and facilities made this a positive experience!
- 98kaitlyno (6/5): Quality may not be up to everyone's standards - Pretty unremarkable stay. Location is decent in Dewey. Pets allowed. I enjoyed that there were long breakfast hours. Front desk staff mediocre. Room was fine, but stuffy. Some rooms look over the lobby. Hotel itself is a huge maze. We found the bed very uncomfortable.
- Mary (10/5): - The hotel was clean, comfortable, and conveniently located. The room was nicely equipped. When we arrived in the room, there was some sand on the floor and a little on the couch, which was disappointing. It is next to a beach so maybe not preventable but I think it could have been vacuumed a bit more carefully. Otherwise, the room was clean and the bathroom was spotless. The staff were so friendly and welcoming.
- WorldTraveler1976 (6/5): Just ok - One of the few non-motel type hotels in Dewey beach, so pick here if you are looking to avoid that. The hotel is ok, suitable for a night or two, wouldn’t stay longer. Small alcohol selection in lobby with snacks as well. Room is spacious but basic. They had us in an ADA room which had separate couch. In interior of building so no windows. Have no idea what’s going on in outside world. It was one night so was fine.
- scotttwppa (10/5): Very pampering - Location of this Hyatt is perfect. It takes up the whole block you walk across the road. You’re at the beach you go behind you’re right on the bay. Many amenities there. The lighthouse restaurant is wonderful. It’s delicious and the staff is friendly. competitive pricing check in process was wonderful we retreated respectfully we noticed that all the staff was polite, professional and knowledgeable They did a lot of renovations. It is just a beautiful property love the outside pool and the inside pool
- desant626 (10/5): dog friendly - very nice hotel. near and walkable to pizza, store and restaurants.
also dog friendly. staff front desk was very pleasant and wonderful.
- Randy (10/5): - Staff is a 10! Room was quite comfortable and clean.
- Cara (4/5): - Honestly not impressed with this hotel that is supposed to be the caliber of a “Hyatt.” The kid at the front desk was rude and not engaging whatsoever. We learned upon arrival that the outdoor pool was only for the residences which was unfortunate. Our room was directly next to an exit door and we could hear is slamming all night and early morning. The bathrooms and beds were mediocre at best. When we checked out the same kid didn’t even ask us how are stay was. Probably would never recommend or stay here again.

- Wayne (9/5): A very nice place to stay. - The indoor pool was nice, very few people, it was like we had the pool to ourselves. Parking was a no hassle too!! You guys didn’t have a microwave in the room.
