• emachesney (10/5): Perfect - My husband and I flew to Geneva for a trip through Switzerland, Italy, and France. Our first night was spent at the W Verbier. It was outstanding. Just driving from Geneva to Verbier was so beautiful. We arrived at the hotel and were greeted by Emma and Maude at reception, who were the right blend of friendly, informative, and professional. The room we were given was gorgeous. Attached is a photo of the view from our balcony. The bed and pillows were perfect. It was so good to sleep off jet lag in such a beautiful and peaceful location. The food in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast couldn't have been better. We met Francesca and Blaise at breakfast, who told us about living in the Swiss Alps. All the rest of our stays on the trip were great, but none could compare to the W Verbier.

The location, spa and ski room are excellent! The room was a bit tight but they do give you ample areas to put away ski items. The only thing we did not like was how dark the hallways are. It's a bit disorienting because everything is black and there is so little light.

• WorkTravelPlay27 (2/5): Stay Elsewhere - Stayed here for a snowboard vacation. The hotel is decent, but it falls short of the prices that are charged and how it is advertised. For example, some rooms list a fireplace as an amenity. In reality, the “fireplace” is just steam/water vapor and some orange lighting. There is not a real fireplace to be found anywhere in the hotel, which was disappointing since we enjoy coffee in the morning and wine at night by the fireplace during our annual snow trips. The lounge areas are mid at best. The hot chocolate from the Living Room was awful, and my to-go hot chocolate was served with no lid in a clear, plastic cup that was set inside another clear plastic cup since the inner one with the liquid was beginning to melt. Don’t expect to have privacy in your room, even with the “do not disturb” sign and the door locked. Make sure you use your extra door latch in addition to the deadbolt. On our second evening (approx. 6pm) a staff member ignored our do not disturb sign, unlocked and opened our door without knocking. One of us was in the shower and the other was mid-dressing. Thankfully, the extra latch kept the door from opening fully. We had not asked for anyone to come to our room, and the staff member was apparently at the wrong room number. One evening as we were relaxing in bed watching our own tablet, the speakers that were connected to the hotel TV (which was off) suddenly turned on with loud static. Engineering had to come to adjust something in a cabinet above the TV. Then, overnight the same evening, another speaker spontaneously turned on with static as we slept and could only be turned off by unplugging it. We shared concerns with the hotel and they insisted that we dine at the hotel complimentary on our last evening. We had not heard good feedback about the restaurants, so we were hesitant. In hindsight, we should have trusted our instincts and stuck with our plan to eat elsewhere. But, we wanted to give them a chance to wow us, so we ate at 1519. The chicken dish we ordered was average at best. The shrimp dish we ordered was pink on one side, grey on the other, had a slimy/mushy consistency, and the flavor was disgusting. It was so awful that we did not eat it after trying to power through one shrimp. They did offer to swap it out, but it was late and we were so frustrated and tired of the sub-par overall hotel experience that we just wanted to get back to our room to pack and prep for departure the next day. Unfortunately, this hotel does not represent Marriott well. The stay felt like a complete waste. The hotel is refusing any type of refund, as they are deeming the awful meal at 1519 to be “appropriate”. Better lodging experiences are available at or below this price/point level. Save yourself the money and frustration and stay elsewhere.

Really nice experience- the spa was great with many different saunas and pools (even outdoor which is cool wintertime). The living room had a great burger with sweet potato fries and great Bloody Marys. The view was amazing as well

• RichardE233 (10/5): Whatever. Whenever. Mountain luxury in paradise. - Verbier is truly a special place that everyone should see with their own two eyes. Its magical in so many ways. Add in the W hotel and all they have to offer and you know you will have found a skiers paradise. Coming from the states it takes alot to get to Verbier. Coming from Zurich you can take the train or car but from Geneva you have to drive. Its a long day. But the Whatever, whenever is on full display upon arrival. As a Bonvoy Platinum member the perks are seemingly endless and it is part of the American Express fine hotel brand so even more benefits. If you know, you know. Coming into the hotel seems surreal. The setting is breathtaking. The lobby has the W vibe you expect to see in a major city but with the mountain feel. The rooms have everything you could want and the giant balcony looking up the mountain you have a front row seat to paradise. Mountain luxury in every way. Fireplace. Tub. Coffee maker. Desk. Closet and beds to die for. The mountain concierge on the lobby level is a skiers dream. Ski in ski out the W Verbier is on its own level. Keep your skis and boots there, and they have a rental shop on premises with literally everything you need. Just steps from the Gondola you cannot be any closer. You will want to start your day with breakfast with views over looking the valley. This is a fantastic buffet with everything you want with a full made to order menu as well. After the ski day they have a world class spa that is incredible amd welcomed after a day of skiing. Giant indoor hot tub, steam rooms, saunas, indoor and out door pools. Cabana to lie and relax and you can order food and drinks. You will think you have died and gone to heaven. The concierge can arrange world class dining options, heli skiing or anything you desire. The people are what make a property 5 stars and from the moment you arrive that is apparent. This is the best hotel in Verbier to be sure and you will definitely be planning a trip back before you are down the mountain.

• 70katyk (4/5): Massage not good - I was doing massage and I don’t like the therapist at all she don’t know how to do massage , amd anatomy and when I came for pay in reception administration ask how I like it and I say I don’t like it at all I have something to compare with and this massage therapist doesn't know anatomy at all, she became screaming and say I am very picky . I am in shock I just say my opinion and what I here from administration 🫣🫣🫣she work 20 years , and can work 40 years and still don’t know how to do massage …

Great cuisine, and great cocktails with great music in their “living room” restaurant/bar. Great spa, swimming pool, hot tub and sauna downstairs. Best “ski locker” room I’ve ever seen for changing in & out of the ski boots and wet layers of ski gear. Transfer service made getting from Geneva quite easy. Can’t thank the team enough.

The food in BO gourmet restaurant was excellent, the best bread I have eaten in a long time. The pool was surprising; fun but not good for laps. Room service was a bit overwhelmed; they did not answer my calls. The tray came with missing items. Nevertheless the food was good.

• emmy220022 (10/5): We will be back! - A true 5-star experience. We visited the W for 5 days in February and were so impressed by the hotel. The location is perfect, right beside the gondola station (no lugging your skis). Our room was in the main hotel building and had a lovely view of the Le Chable gondola. The boot room is conveniently located and the hotel can arrange ski rentals with Mountain Air who will deliver and return the skis straight from the hotel. The spa facilities were wonderful, although perhaps they could do with policing the adult-only areas slightly more, as there were some children running around at times. We also had a massage and it was one of the best I've had! Breakfast was amazing, if not the best hotel breakfast I've had. They had everything you could possibly want and more. Faultless in my opinion and the staff were super friendly. I particularly loved having the selection of fresh juices and touches such as a rotating pancake and pastry flavour every day (of course in addition to the standard offering). The only points for improvement we would mention is that they could use more than one shuttle vehicle during high season. The hotel is quite a distance from a number of the popular restaurants and they only have one shuttle for all the hotel guests. This meant that at times we had to wait a length of time to be picked up and nearly missed a dinner reservation another evening. Additionally, we felt that the concierge could have been more helpful. We rang about making dinner reservations and never heard back. When we enquired again we were told that the restaurants were fully booked. When we contacted the same restaurant ourselves, we were able to secure a reservation... However, all of the other staff were so welcoming and friendly so it may have been down to us visiting during the half term and it being exceptionally busy. Overall it was an amazing stay, everything else was perfection and I would absolutely return!
• JMS258NYC (10/5): Excellent - My wife and I took a ski vacation from Thursday, March 21st through Saturday, March 30th in Verbier and stayed at the W Hotel. All-in-all, our stay was amazing. The location was perfect and just a very short walk to the base Gondola (Barnes Line - Median 4). The hotel is located at the top of the hill and also provides easy walking down the hill access to all the great restaurants, bars and shopping. The hotel is also situated next to Mountain Air ski shop, which has a great assortment of rentals, gear and clothing. Also, if you're having trouble with your ski boots, there is a professional fitter on site who can properly adjust them (including stretching a molding the plastic and boot inserts). The room we stayed in was a "Spectacular" room. The room was spacious and had a great balcony overlooking the mountains and the valley. The weather was nice and relatively warm during our stay and we were able to spend time on the balcony having a drink or two after skiing and taking pictures. The bathroom was also spacious. The toilet is in a separate room and the shower pressure was good. The bed was comfortable and we slept well during our 10-day stay. The hotel itself has more of a modern, funky feel, which is akin to the W's brand in the US. If you're looking for something more Swiss-traditional, this won't be it. The food was also very good. The breakfast buffet was wonderful and the wait staff was super-friendly, warm and attentive. We only ate dinner once during our stay at the hotel and chose the tapas restaurant. The food was just OK, but the service was excellent. The lounge area was also very nice and comfortable. Great for an afternoon drink. The spa and the pool area were also really nice. The pool is a good size and there is a separate adult-only area, away from the play of the kids. The hot tub, steam room and sauna were all amazing and all set at the right temperature. I had an hour full-body massage one day, which was also amazing. The ski room was also great. It's conveniently located right as you get off the elevator on the main floor. You can keep your skis, boots and poles stored in a designated area assigned to your room number and you can buy lift passes from the staff there. Niko was great. If you have a full-access EPIC pass, included is a 5 consecutive day pass at Verbier. Tell the hotel ahead of time and they can help reserve it (which requires sending them an email with the proof of your pass, along with ID). It's easy, but just takes a little time. For restaurants outside of the hotel the concierge was amazing, especially Miguel. All of his recommendations were spot on. Recommendations are as follows: - Au Vieux for lunch. It's right across the street from the W. The food is traditional Swiss and the outside seating area is great - La Fer a Cheval for drinks and lunch. It's a short walk down the hill on the left from the W. Great outdoor seating and good basic food - salads, burgers, etc. - L'Ecurie for dinner. We loved this place so much that we went twice. Traditional Swiss food. - La Grange for dinner. We also loved this place and went twice. Traditional Swiss food. Other restaurants we visited we Carrefour, Taratata, Le Chalet d'Adrien, which were all very good as well. Getting to and from the hotel from GVA was arranged by the hotel. It's expensive, though. Lastly, I was worried about conditions so late in the season, but the skiing was great. We had a few days of snow with accumulations of 6-12 inches each day. On the days it was clear, the sun felt good and it wasn't too cold. My favorite part of the mountain was riding the Jumbo Tram. There's a great cruising run that you can carve aggressive turns on all the way down with great views. If I were to rank Verbier among the European ski resorts I've visited up to this point (Zermatt, Chamonix, Cortina, Lech, Val d'Isere), I'd say the town itself was probably the best so far.
