Guest Reviews
- JAVIER (9/5): Buen hotel y atención - La habitación era cómoda y acogedora. La acogida en la recepción y la atención en el desayuno.
- alan (10/5): From check in to check out couldn't fault it - Breakfast was excellent, well cooked hot, proper Scottish breakfast, porridge was just to my liking couldn't manage the toast, too full, the girls who worked there worked very hard with long hours, i highly recommend this hotel Nothing keep it as it is
- Colin (8/5): The staff were super friendly and helpful - Location to the venue we were going to Small cramped bathroom
- Lindsey (7/5): -
- Neil (9/5): -
- otto (8/5): -
- Lesley (8/5): A really friendly and comfortable place to stay and great for visiting The Burrell collection - There were a couple of oversights in our room when we arrived (insufficient towels, TV not working) but all immediately sorted out in the friendliest of manners and we then had a lovely meal in the restaurant and delicious freshly prepared breakfast the following morning The cleaning in parts of our room was not as thorough as it c/should have been
- Guest (8/5): -
- Hilary (8/5): - The staff were delightfully helpful
- Andrew (7/5): -
- Pettitt (8/5): - Wonderful staff, really friendly. Very clean and comfortable Nothing bad to report for the money
- Jackie (9/5): - Staff very friendly and helpful. There wasn't anything.
- Emma Jane (4/5): would have liked a comfier bed, dont think the size of the room was reflecting online - never tried the breakfast when we left.
location was good as if was close to the train station and had plenty of food options around. toilet was detaching from the floor, shower didn't stay in holder unless at a certain angle, toilet was cramped with us touching the wall with our knees.
bed wasnt as comfortable as would have liked so didn't get the best sleep.
- James (5/5): -
- bruce (10/5): Amazing stay and would definitely go back. - Welcoming and nice clean room and nice bar facilities.
- michelle (10/5): Excellent staff very accommodating - Very good accommodation Nothing
- ruth (8/5): they were lovely i'd stay again - the staff were super friendly, the breakfasts were huge so I could never finish but good. not enough plugs in the room, especially none near the bed.
- Lesley (8/5): -
- Rhoda (1/5): -
- McConachie (8/5): - Location excellent, staff friendly and bar/restaurant very good. Car parking facility although prepared to move staff cars if necessary.
- Maeve (8/5): -
- Karen (8/5): Good location - Area was great and the bar and grill did not affect the quiet bedroom. The staff were very friendly Size of ensuite was quite small
- RoyalSilk (8/5): Would certainly recommend, but be aware of a couple of things - I've stayed here many times and certainly recommend the hotel. But be aware there are only 8 rooms, which are fairly basic by 2026 standards, and there is no lift. The hotel is also getting quite pricey for what is offered. However, it is very well located right in the middle of Giffnock Village and the staff are always very friendly. It can get a bit noisy if there is a function on, especially people who are slightly tipsy having an argument in the road outside at 1230 am as happened on this visit!
- Lynch (8/5): Staff lovely but bed and shower tiny and bed old - Staff were absolutely brilliant, very friendly and the breakfast was so nice. The shower room was absolutely tiny the bed wasn't good, old sprung mattress and a small double . The staff were lovely though
- Lena (9/5): Utmärkt trevligt - Toppen
- Louise (10/5): -
- Mackie (9/5): Was a great relaxing night - The staff were excellent very polite
Bed was extremely comfortable
Food was amazing The location surprised me was expecting a country manor out the way but didn't ruin the experience
- David (9/5): -
- Iain (10/5): Perfect. - Breakfast was good. Beer garden looked great. N/A
- Michael (8/5): -
- Dr. Linda (10/5): -
- ash (9/5): - Just great all round The building is amazing
- Robert (5/5): Good location but bad experience - The hotel is well located and has free parking at the back. We had an excellent lunch in the restaurant and breakfast was very good too. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had asked for twin beds but told there were none available when we checked in. Our small room had a queen bed which was comfortable enough but too small and there was no chair to sit on. The en suite bathroom was tiny and it very awkward to use. The worst aspect was there was a noisy party happening downstairs and when it was still going on at midnight, my partner had to go down to ask when it was finishing so we could get some sleep. We expected more for £150 and to have somewhere to sit other than the bed as well as get a peaceful night’s sleep.
- T5381NKianl (10/5): Great service and welcome. - Spent one night at the hotel after our car broke down. The service from staff was excellent. Very clean room. Great vegetarian breakfast with super helpful service. Excellent value after arriving at reception without a booking.
- safdar (7/5): -
- Craig (9/5): Great location and good breakfast…made to feel very welcome. - Quality period hotel with excellent facilities and great staff. We had a lovely corner room and only minor criticism was the size of en-suite facilities…very small.
- X7730TQsamuels (6/5): Nor recommended - I stayed overnight at the orchard park hotel giffnock last week.
A nice hotel with lovely food should you wish to sit in the bar area of this hotel.
I had a basic double room which was lovely the only fault about my room which I mentioned to the management was I did not expect to find the radiator hidden behind my bed as the heat will not circulate around the room.
The breakfast area was very cold no heating was on there as far I know.
I found the breakfast menu very limited.
I certainly will not be staying here again .
- Fiona (7/5): Lovely staff, great breakfast and nice stay overall. - Breakfast was fabulous as were the staff and room was nice enough. Couldn’t get a parking space at hotel and enquired if they had spaces for residents but told no. Not ideal to park a mile down the road and have to walk. Maybe spaces could be allocated for residents in future
- Aoife (10/5): -
- mia (10/5): - The staff couldn't have done enough, they were really lovely and made our stay.
The facilities are excellent, clean and spacious.
Location is great - close to a train station or we got a taxi into Glasgow for around £17.
- Lisa (5/5): Nice staff and decent breakfast, noise and poor sofa bed really affected our sleep. - Nice building and the area was lovely, also staff were friendly. Good breakfast. Noice from function downstairs was very loud, also road noise was bad. Sofa bed was the worst I have experienced, main bed was OK.
- Craig (9/5): -
- Allan (8/5): - Room was nice however the shower was very bad. Breakfast was good but very slow services. Quality of the shower was poor and speed of service in the morning foe breakfast was slow and had to chase staff up
- R4845YUlisaf (10/5): A nice meal out with my friend. - I had a stunning meal with my friend. The service was amazing,a great team Jen,Molly and Cat who run a good ship.Lovely atmosphere as well.
- alan (9/5): Great short visit - Location well placed for shawllsnds
Staff very good Nothing
- Gavin (10/5): -
- Gordon (7/5): Went for an overnight stay for Scotland v Denmark it was ideal for that. - Nice friendly staff
Clean comfy room and beds
Nice bar/restaurant Food/drinks a bit expensive
- Katrina (9/5): -
- D2244NVtinal (8/5): I'd stay again but do park elsewhere - I'd stay again, the hotel is quiet, clean, small and cosy, with friendly staff and a great chef. Tea and coffee in rooms with a kettle and hairdryer. Rooms are small but comfortable. Bathrooms are tiny and could do with fresh paint and grouting. Toiletries are very basic and toilet paper is wafer thin - buy your own from Sainsburys across the road. Plenty of restaurants and cafes around: I recommend Pane e Vino. On a small street with shops, gym 5 minutes walk away, very convenient for amenities. The hotel bar and grille is handy. I was able to work in the quiet breakfast room when it was empty. The wifi is good.
Avoid the hotel car park at all costs! The car park is tiny, it isn't actually private despite the privacy notices, anyone can park there as there is no CCTV and no monitoring. Someone drove into my Porsche and caused a lot of damage, they didn't leave a note, the hotel staff weren't bothered, and without any CCTV, I've a nice big repair bill to pay. I was very fortunate that my car was actually driveable and I could get home. I'd strongly recommend you don't use this car park but park on the street. A very disappointing end to an otherwise nice stay.
- Ralph (10/5): -
- Wendy (10/5): -
- Niall (10/5): Great evening and party - It was an excellent property It was very clean and staff were lovely
- Wanda (6/5): -
- Noreen (7/5): Overall a good stay and the staff were excellent. - Breakfast was very good, staff all friendly and helpful. Location suited us very well also. The room was comfortable and clean. The ensuite bathroom was terrible. Too small and cramped.
- Valerie (10/5): Lovely hotel, ideal location for going into Glasgow. - Yes, I would recommend the OP, staff are all lovely and friendly. Best scrambled eggs ever!! Our shower room was super tiny, shower head could do with being replaced.
- Ian (8/5): - It was ok
- Go34706130641 (10/5): Wow! - Wow! Greeted by a beautiful smiling staff member and shown to our table. Service from start to finish was tremendous. Definitely will be visiting again in near future.
- Judith (8/5): Quiet and comfortable - Comfortable stay. Very quiet room considering above very busy pub. Good breakfast. Very nice person served breakfast and spoke to us about our trip. Great Italian delicatessen and restaurant just round the corner. Shower over bath which is problematic for older people. No hand rails to hang onto when climbing out of bath. No fridge. Location not central so price tag of £143 on the more expensive side.
- Sharon (8/5): - Family run hotel. Very helpful friendly staff. Shower was cold.
- linda (7/5): OK for this stay but would not be first choice for future stays - Friendly staff; excellent location for our requirements; OK breakfast - very salty meal Our room was very small and had very few 'surfaces' to spread out on. The bathroom size was a joke....it was a complete shuffle every time you wanted to move in it. Again lack of surfaces to put toiletries. Access to one side of the bed was very cramped.
- pam (9/5): -
- Colkat (10/5): Fantastic hotel - Lovely staff, great breakfast, comfy bed Car parking is limited
- William (7/5): Pleasant stay - Lovely decor and liked the original period features. Perfect location. Staff are friendly and chatty which is always good. Wee bit of a wait to check in as nobody was at the desk. Breakfast wasn't too good but was ok. Signs of wear and tear on paint work in our room that might need fixing pretty soon. Mattress was a bit poor ɓut ok for one night.
- Karen (10/5): - The staff was exceptional. The beds were so comfy and the breakfast was lovely. No cons.
- RoyalSilk (10/5): Great Staff, Very Comfortable Stay - I always have a great time at the Orchard Park. This is a small hotel with just 8 rooms but there is a very personal touch and all the staff are very friendly and eager to help. This includes taking your suitcase up the grand staircase (since there is no lift). You do need to book early. And if possible they will always assign you a room of your choice. My personal favourite is room 2 for the superb views it affords up and down Fenwick Road and Maryville Avenue. Yes some of the rooms are on the small side but this is part of the charm of the hotel.
- Russell (10/5): Always A Great Stay! - I always have a great time at the Orchard Park. - Park (9/5): We stayed overnight as a result of a private family. Everything met our needs.function -
- Jim (10/5): - Really friendly staff who were happy to chat from those at reception to waiting staff to cleaners.
Good food and comfortable room
- Christine (8/5): - Frühstück, Personal und das Zimmer war sehr schön eingerichtet.
- Roslyn (7/5): Nice hotel, lovely staff. Let down by breakfast - Room was clean and staff friendly Bathroom was very small but not too much of an issue for us. Mattress wasn’t the comfiest I’ve slept on but not the worst. Felt much of the breakfast was deep fried, bacon was cremated. Shame as otherwise it would have been good.
- BrianBook (9/5): - Breakfast was excellent and the staff were inquisitive as to what you were doing but in a friendly manner. Room ws pretty standard so not sure why the premium but it was convenient.
- McConachie (9/5): Orchard Park Hotel- Where to get a teacake with your coffee - The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel had a lovely interior and the rooms were modern in appearance. A lovely touch was having a couple of tunnocks tea cakes waiting to be eaten with a coffee/tea.This let's you know your in Glasgow. The local area had amenities for use and the hotel itself offered dinner and breakfast. It had an outside seating area which we did use.The bar in the hotel was a bustling area however there were plenty of staff on hand to ensure you were served in good time. There was a function on that evening so may not represent a usual Friday night. We were going to an event at Rouken Glen Park and this hotel was perfect for location and staff kindly gave us directions to the event.Overall it was a great night spent in Glasgow with the hotel providing a high class service with friendly, caring staff and first class amenities. The photo is of the entrance to the bar area not the hotel itself, the hotel has a more grand entrance and doesn't disappoint.-
- Tisleem (7/5): -
- Emma Rachel (7/5): Pleasant stay. Helpful staff, but couldn’t cope with booking.com booking having been paid for and took payment twice. Wa - Very central . Lots of outside seating - great for summer. Foreign plug sockets in the bedroom!
- Katherine (8/5): -
- Maria (4/5): What a disappointment - The location was good Oh dear, there was no twin room available when booking so opted for superior double which accommodated a sofa bed.
The room decor was dark and when the sofa bed folded down, suddenly the room appeared tiny but not as tiny as the en suite...The area was so small my knees were against the wall.
The toilet flush was poor and the door needed to be fully closed to gain access to the sink.
The room was noisy and the clientele in the outside seating area were equally noisy.
Breakfast was poor with no staff to welcome you and food was served overcooked and dry .
This hotel thrives on lunch groups and restaurant clients however, there is much to be considered if it is serious about serving breakfast.
- Suzjamesy (2/5): Never again like a shoe box - Awful! Will never stay here ! Booked a Deluxe room which is the size of a shoe box
I have no idea how anyone is above average build who accommodate the bathroom ! Its size of a wardrobe !!!
The bed for my son was not acceptable as a sofa bed
The springs had gone and was not fit for purpose for any person
Nothing about this room was deluxe and the sofa bed needs binning !
- suzanne (1/5): -
- Caroline (10/5): Great - Location cleanliness and friendly staff , Nothing
- James (7/5): -
- Lisa (9/5): -
- L-M666 (10/5): Outstanding - Outstanding food & service
Best ever salads - I had a chicken Caesar & my friend a Thai beef - small portions at £14 & more than enough - absolutely delish
Will be back 💯
- José (9/5): Dikke aanrader - De ligging, het personeel en heerlijk gegeten! Beetje kleine kamer en bed
- Rooney (5/5): -
- savage (7/5): - Over staying with a friend so wanted somewhere near her. The location was great, just 5 mins or less to train station.
The breakfast was awful to say the least, unfortunately. However, I had read reviews, so I was not expecting much. I am a fruit and yohart person, so it wasn't for me.
Other than that the staff were lovely, and the room was clean. The bathroom is tiny, but again ,I had read that, so I wasn't surprised.
All in all, I didn't get any surprises and was happy with what I had.
- Ian (7/5): Great building, comfortable bed. Staff need to be more attentive. - Size of room and bathroom. For the price paid, we would have expected much table service at breakfast. There was nobody in the dining room and we had to ask at reception. Our order was taken, food delivered and that was the the sum total of any staff visibility.
There was no milk out for cereal, no condiments for cooked breakfast and we had to ask for a second pot of tea. Never asked if everything was satisfactory.
Jacuzzi splashed everywhere.
Toilet made loud noise when filling the cistern.
No curtain on the bathroom which faced the road.
- kevan (7/5): A mixed bag of the excellent and the disappointing, overall positive and would stay again. - Excellent bedroom with huge comfy bed, very good lounge area but very cramped bathroom. Ample parking and excellent outdoor seating, very pleasant and large bar and dining area. Breakfast very disappointing, orange juice and coffee not replenished, and staff seemed totally unaware that this was the case.Food was rather greasy.
- Wayne (10/5): - Comforts 1 night stay, didn’t venture out but hotel Manet my needs for 1 night.
- Lina (8/5): Very good -
- Martin (8/5): Nice hotel great food - Nice hotel but set just off the main road so quite noisy. It’s a bar and grill with rooms but room was nice and comfortable. Good shower over a jacuzzi bath. Food was excellent so would possibly stay again but ask for a room at the rear.
- Shaun (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kam (8/5): Very good -
- Nita (7/5): Good - The staff were very pleasant and accommodating with our various requests. They were helpful and cheerful even when there was a lot happening. The water wasn't very hot, but manageable as the weather wasn't too cold. Also, it would have been nice to have a fridge in the room.
- West (8/5): Great location and comfort when visiting for a short stay. - Very pleasant property in a great location! The breakfast menu was limited, and upon arriving to breakfast there is no permanent staff member located in the dining area meaning you’re left to wander and find what you need.
- Kate (9/5): Good overall, made better by the lovely staff - Breakfast was pretty basic but fine.
En-suite was ludicrously small for 'de-luxe' room The breakfast and the en-suite
- Lai-ming (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paul (8/5): Excellent - Lively, great staff, nice room Bathroom is quite small, waited ages for breakfast but it was nice when it came
- Melchi (5/5): Passable - Clean Noisy as the room we stayed was located next to the busy road. Tight toilet space.
- Russell (8/5): - The Orchard Park is always a comfortable stay. It may not be the most modern of properties, however the staff are very pleasant and given there are only eight rooms at the hotel securing a room can be a Premium exercise. The hotel is very well located for local facilities, including Giffnock Synagogue and the overall experience is very heimish.
- James (6/5): Meh. - bed was decent, check in staff good. Bar was good breakfast was pretty average and staff very slow and non attentive. Bathroom was tiny.
