- Chris Evans (10/5): -
- Jax (10/5): - Quiet room and off the main road. I used the sauna however by the time it was hot my time was up. Next time I will book the sauna for a longer period.
- Julie (5/5): -
- Aaron (7/5): -
- Justine (6/5): Friendly staff, nice location with free parking. - Friendly staff, nice location. Kitchen wasn't as clean as we would have liked.
- Chris (8/5): -
- Marina (5/5): We will book again as the accommodation and the environment met our requirements. - We wanted a day stay only and wanted a rest and left early.
Due to travelling a long distance we were able to utilise the express arrival times and the gentleman was very supportive and helpful when he noticed we had 2 tamariki with us.
We will definitely book again.
The linen and towels were very clean as well as the rooms, although the carpets need a deep clean to get rid of stains the entrance way and the couch beds need an upgrade. Other than that the environment was very pleasant.
Next time we will do an overnight stay. Everything was what we needed.
However I was a little frustrated when booking the night before our arrival, being cut off and then reading there were express times available and mentioning that when we arrived.
- Raewyn (8/5): -
- Gillian (10/5): - Was perfect for what we needed. Great location.
- sally (9/5): Lovely relaxing location - Motel is situated in well kept grassed grounds with attractive trees.
Its in a quiet location & so relaxing sitting on the front long verandah.
Room was attractive & well set up & equipped.
Restaurant was a good place to eat with of variety of tasty food.
- nicholas (7/5): -
- Bruce (7/5): - The Dinner
- Bruce (7/5): - Having a restaurant on site. Tasty food selection.
- Chris (9/5): - Lovely setting and gardens
- Brenda (9/5): Comfortable and tidy didn't use restaurant but looked busy - Comfortable for a nights rest Nothing that comes to mind
- Ethan (6/5): -
- Maryann (8/5): - Location was good and the staff were lovely. Beds were comfortable and pillows were great. Good stock of toiletries, crockery. Towels etc were clean and well stocked. Spacious room. TV took a bit to workout, even with instructions. Room could do with a 'big clean' around skirting boards and carpet needs replacing. Appreciate the laundry but it needs a good clean.
- Derek Chapman (8/5): Did the job, but this place has the potential to be a very nice Motel if it was refurbished well? - Well laid out complex with good parking, bar/restaurant and friendly staff. Really needed some refurbishment as room was a bit scruffy inside with doors not fitting properly on cupboards etc.
- Eline (10/5): We had a great stay here before completing the Tongariro Crossing hike. Thank you. - Clean rooms, rooms had everything you would need for your stay.
Staff were kind and helpful.
Good location with town centre very close by, and only 20 min drive to our Tongariro crossing hike start point. N/A
- Chris (5/5): We had a comfortable sleep but the room was pokey, run down and looked very tired. - Clean linen, comfortable beds, good shower pressure No bench space in kitchen, no sink, no towel rails. Badly stained carpet.
- Gillian (8/5): A good place to stop- eat and rest for our trips from Tauranga to Wellington - Always helpful and friendly-good size rooms- great WiFi There was a bit of mould on the window sills from
Condensation- but overall it was very clean and well equipped
- Michael (9/5): - Had respectful reception Need to communicate
- Mere (10/5): - The Maori lady cleaner was so lovely and helpful with our needs.
- Léonard (10/5): Superbe 🤩 - Nous étions dans la chambre supérieure.
C’était génial ! Spacieuse, confortable et très bien équipé !
C’était comme neuf et très propre, et la baignoire jacuzzi est incroyable 🤩
- Ian (5/5): - The unit was clean Facilities were well below what we expand whar we thought we'd paid for. Obe bed was very old and rolled towards the wall.
No kitchen as such (see photo)rudimentary washing up etc. Left with the strong impression that as we had booked through Booking.com we were given a lesser unit (the others we could see had much better facilities.
Wouldn't recommend this property.
- Della (8/5): -
- James (9/5): Comfortable economy accommodation - Good size room, quiet and comfortable. A little rundown but not bad
- Andres (8/5): -
- Tony (9/5): - The place was clean and tidy. Loved the shower. Could really use a new carpet.
- José (7/5): Not very clean place. - Location perfect if you are doing the Tongariro Alpine Crossing. You can be picked up directly from the motel. Accommodation was not very clean. Not very pleasant.
- Sam (8/5): -
- Susan (6/5): A potentially good motel in need of some updating - When we asked to change rooms, we were quickly granted that request, and the staff were very nice The room we were originally allocated was awful, stains all over the carpet, and also on the sofa upholstery, including hoes in the upholstery, possible cigarette burns. When we changed rooms, all was well, but the door fell off a kitchen cupboard and also there was a leaking toilet. The staff addressed the problems as quickly as they could but basically it looks as if an overhaul is needed. I hope they do, because all in all they were very helpful, but the dreadful room at the start left us with a bad tastel I am also worried that someone added a review in my name, overrating the hotel; this seems like dishonesty
- Dhillon (10/5): - Amazing and accommodating employees. Not applicable
- Mike (8/5): -
- Jase (8/5): - I've stayed here many times for work, great location and plenty of truck parking Nothing to dislike
- Barry (7/5): -
- Sheryl (8/5): -
- Peter (7/5): Enjoyable - Location All good
- Cathy (10/5): - We ate at the restaurant on site which was very good. The hotel was able to give another room, at a good price, as one of us fell ill and didn't want to get the other one sick. The staff was very helpful.
- Michael (7/5): -
- Marjone (7/5): -
- Jane (6/5): Good value - Good location nice restaurant
- Ernesto (1/5): Disaster - Nothing In general all was very bad
- Nicki (8/5): -
- Joanna (6/5): A bit disappointing - Good location. Shops nearby.
Beautiful river nearby.
Nice bar & restaurant, although we didn’t need to use these.
Bed was comfortable. Our room could have been cleaned better. Curtains were so long that they would get caught in the ranch slider and were already torn.
Small couch looked dirty so I didn’t want to sit on it.
- Angel (9/5): Only stayed for the night for deffs come back - Staff were lovely if you decide to do the Tongariro crossing it is only 20mins drive to the car park.
Room was clean and tidy.
Staff were all lovely
Restaurant was good
- YUN (10/5): -
- Raema (10/5): - Great place to stay by the river. Close walk to town. Nice room, comfy bed. Have stayed a couple of times there now. Nothing
- Gerhard (7/5): -
- Aliesha (8/5): Was nice and convenient location - Wasn’t very clean behind doors etc
- mandy (9/5): Suited our needs perfectly, would stay again. - Location and dog friendly, suited our needs perfectly. Was all good.
- Dex (10/5): - Great room, confortable bed and good pressure shower. Perfect location for Tongariro Crossing.
- Andrew (7/5): - Good location-reasonably quiet, nice gardens Same sink for washing hands after toilet and for food preparation and washing dishes!
- Don (3/5): -
- Sylviane (9/5): - Great service et very nice location.
- Karine (8/5): Confortable et bon rapport qualité prix - Les lits chauffants. Le nécessaire dans la kitchenette. La fraicheur dans la salle de bain, dont la trappe donnait sur l'extérieur.
- Cathy (10/5): - Nice view from the room. Had dinner at restaurant which was very good. Comfort beds. Great water pressure in showers!
- Heather (9/5): Totally worth staying here. We would book here anytime - The rooms were big and comfortable and quiet.
Little fridge was nice to keep out hiking food cold over night. It’s Close to the tongariro alpine crossing. It was nice to have a restaurant in site so we didn’t need to travel after our long day. The spa pool is rented out to individuals and was. It working while we were there.
The hotel did have a nice jet tub to soak in
Food at the restaurant was good. Probably $10 more than it was worth, but happy to pay for the convenience.
- Rob (4/5): overpriced compared to what other motels charge for similar rooms - The room was clean, and the restaurant was good wifi worked at night but not in the morning, not enough cutlery for two people, the shower door and the main door difficult to close/lock
- Delwyn (7/5): Good place to break up our journey - Comfortable beds and pillows; good shower; restaurant on site was a bonus
- Falwasser (5/5): -
- MARIA LUCE (7/5): -
- Johanna (8/5): Mooie kamer - Mooie kamer Verouderde badkamer
- Andrew (8/5): -
- Simon (9/5): Great owners and very accommodating when I had to cancel and then had to uncancel due to a breakdown -
- Yvonne (6/5): Average - The view and grass area around the motel was great for the dog No information about what’s available or how to get the TV to work what’s available in the local area for food as there was a restaurant on site and the weather was very heavy rain had no choice to order food from the restaurant which cost us an extra &10 for delivery and the male of fish and chips arrived in a carton and the fish looked like it had been thrown in and a tiny container of salad at $70 + I had expected something better thanks
- Roel (6/5): -
- Evelyn (4/5): - The view from our room Heavy rain... our room started leaking, told staff... WE Had to follow up.. because they didn't get back to is.. eventually gave us another room, Hut way less superior .. but still charged the same.. not even an apology 😒
- Cogliati (8/5): -
- Tracy (10/5): Great place to stay in Turangi - Very well located for The Turangi Alpine Hike. Comfortable stay with useful kitchen area. Stayed here for 2 nights.
- Dominic (3/5): Average place to stay. - Good size. Good couch.
Not expensive. Had most things needed. TV didn’t work.
Wasn’t very clean.
Bed wasn’t very comfortable.
No sink in kitchenette & limited utensils.
- Kay Gunnar (8/5): -
- Helen (7/5): We were really relaxed and enjoyed out holiday very much - lovely grounds and superb dehlias! - I loved that we could take our dog with us I thought it might be good if there was a bread knife and bread board to prepare food on.
- Robyn (8/5): We were not there for long but it was comfortable and convenient - Lovely position near the river, beautiful grounds. Very efficient use of space. Nothin in particular
- Susanne (7/5): -
- Anne (8/5): - The location is great as its on the highway and great for a stopover. Theres a restaurant on site and a park nearby for walking. Great that dogs are allowed. I feel that the rooms are very dated and overdue for a refurbishment.
- Jinah (1/5): - - I stayed here for one night while attending a friend’s wedding nearby, and unfortunately it was a very disappointing experience. We arrived around 9 pm and tried to have a warm shower, but there was no hot water. I called reception and was advised to wait 20–25 minutes and try again. After waiting over half an hour, there was still only cold water.
I called again and was told to wait another 30 minutes, but the situation did not improve. When I contacted reception for the third time, another staff member suggested using the sauna shower next to our room. We asked if they could first check whether the sauna shower had hot water, but we received no response, which suggested it was also not working.
In the end, we had no choice but to go to bed without showering. The next morning, we were only able to have a very quick wash before the hot water ran out again.
I understand that the motel appeared to be fully booked and that the hot water system may have been under strain. However, the way the situation was handled was disappointing. Repeatedly being told to “keep waiting” without a proper solution or follow-up was not helpful, and better communication and problem-solving from staff would have made a big difference.
- Michelle (9/5): -
- Aileen (8/5): - Quiet atmosphere. I struggled to find my allocated unit, with no help from motel staff.
- Chantelle (8/5): - Good location. Room was nice and clean. Lovely view of the fielding and trees. The beds were very warm and cozy. Quick and easy checkout with the dropbox for the keys.
- Graeme (7/5): Comfortable and quiet - Location. Ideal for stopover, quiet The kitchen space and dishes clean up tight and difficult. Next time we’d eat in the on-site restaurant
- Turner (8/5): A Worthwhile stop on your travels - Comfortable and clean in a nice location.
- Sheena (6/5): -
- Veronica (8/5): -
- sarita (8/5): -
- Angela (10/5): -
- Eva (7/5): Turangi stopover - Located in a quiet spot. Two comfortable single beds for my brother & me. Receptionist came promptly to help with tv. Option of meals at restaurant. Value for money. Interiior of establishment somewhat dowdy, but looks as if rooms being renovated.
- Katrina (7/5): -
- Karina (1/5): Not worth the price, - I actually did not like anything about this motel. The manager was an older lady who was so money hungry. I also had problems communicating and understanding them properly as hard as I tried. The spa was apparently booked out. The room was not worth the money, which was very overpriced I didn't enjoy anything about my stay. It was hard to understand the manager as their accent was strong and the room was not worth the money. Very overpriced for what it was. Spa was fully booked though I think the guy at front desk couldn't be bothered with us.
- Jana (10/5): -
- Andrew (7/5): -
- Denis (8/5): -
- Zosia (5/5): Very average - probably wouldn’t stay again. - Check-in staff not very welcoming. Dog hair on coffee table. Smell of what I’m assuming was a cleaning product was overwhelming and unpleasant. Guest info book grimey. Microwave oven old and rusty inside. Plates cutlery etc out in the open and were taking up room on kitchen bench so hard to do anything. Bird had somehow got into the room on check in and pooped on fridge etc. Room needed a good dust. Bed not that comfortable. Plug for electric blanket on right hand side wasn’t near a plug so if two people were staying one would be cold. Shower head etc tatty and worn. Towels could have been better quality. Some tissues in the room would have been appreciated. Decor dated. I only had dinner at the restaurant - the food was tasty and staff member friendly.
- Josune (1/5): - Nos encontramos ropa interior sucia en el baño. Tuvimos un problema y nos fue imposible contactar con el personal de recepción por la noche.
Muy mala experiencia
- JOHN RICHMOND (8/5): -
- Rachel (8/5): Absolutely fine, repeat bookings. - We have stayed here quite a few times so it meets expectations, very handy place. Lovely large grounds and nice clean rooms perfect for breaking a long trip. We will stop off here again. The exterior property is a little run down, little things like a crack in the kids slide and the spa which should just be closed off. We were travelling around Christmas time so a busy time of year, staff were friendly especially in the restaurant. A mix up with the booking meant we were asked to pay twice- quickly sorted out. I also don't think they picked up on my message that we were bringing our dog, even though I messaged about this at the time of booking.
- Burns (9/5): Nice for a one night - Very friendly and helpful service accommodated us with early check-in Nothing
- Peta (10/5): Enjoyed it very much, and my dog loved his first hotel experience - Room is neat and very clean, the grounds well maintained with beautiful garden I didn’t find anything negative about the property
- Drabble (7/5): - Nice layout, good space and really nice meals in the restaurant. Sheet on bed had a blood stain so I slept on the top sheet. Otherwise the room was clean.
- Stuart (8/5): - Handy and what we expected Nothing major
