- Travelin_Bear (6/5): Note that parking is $12 per night - Our stay at TownePlace Suites by Marriott in Roswell was fine. Mark at the desk was friendly and welcoming. Bed and bedding were comfortable. At first we were concerned about the occasional loud train horn but it didn't happen through the night. The bathtub was a bit slippery so be mindful of that. The only thing that really bugged me is that parking is billed at $12 per night. I don't know if this is a new thing or not but I've not encountered it before at a roadside chain hotel. I'd expect a parking fee in a big city but this is the outskirts of Roswell, New Mexico.

- greglinmon (8/5): Clean, well maintained, minimal customer service - Stayed here for several nights while in town for business . Place was clean, well maintained interior. Exterior pretty good, tree branches are over hanging sidewalks on multiple sides, ve to didgw and duck or walk in parking lot, time to trim back. Staff were not rude, just not customer friendly, no greeting when walking by the desk, or upon arrival, or in mornings in dining area. Don't need to be friends, but could be friendly and welcoming.

When I got off shift the 7th morning I found out they would be testing fire alarms from 1130 AM until 3. For me this was middle of the night. No advanced warning to make other are. I will NEVER stay here again!
- Terselated (6/5): OK hotel, but needs some renovations. - This hotel was OK, but not great. The pillows were pretty useless, it felt like I was sleeping on a bag of old crumpled up sheets. We went out to Target and bought new pillows after the first night. The toilet in the suite backed up multiple times. When we asked about switching in to another room we were told all the suites were doing the same thing. They left a plunger in the room for us, but it made the stay less than ideal to have to plunge everytime we went to the bathroom. Speaking of the bathroom, the tub is SUPER slick. You can see the outlines were non-slip pads once were there, but they are long gone. I recommend holding on to the railing while taking a shower so you don't slip. All that said, the rooms were quiet and we liked the layout of the suite. The pool was nice (albeit a tad small). Breakfast was about normal for hotel breakfast. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the area.
- Farris (6/5): - TownePlace Suites Roswell, NM – A Marriott in Name Only We just wrapped up a weekend stay here, and to put it bluntly: I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone unless your idea of comfort is low expectations and high tolerance. From the moment we walked in, the place felt old, worn-out, and strangely lifeless—like it’s been hanging on by a thread since 2009 and no one’s told it yet. For some reason, this is one of the very few hotels in Roswell that charges for parking—despite being in a town where you could practically land a UFO in the lot and no one would blink. There are no EV chargers onsite, which in 2025 is just sad. Our room had a fridge that was hotter than the actual room (which is saying something), the walls and floors were so thin we could hear every single footstep, voice, and mystery thud—not just from our stompy upstairs neighbor, but across the hotel like we were in a dorm. The shower? A relic of the ‘90s. A tiny, slippery tub pulling away from the wall with visible mold—basically a lawsuit waiting to happen. Housekeeping never showed up for either night of our stay, but honestly, we were relieved no one had to come in. Small win. The front desk staff was polite enough, but…creepy. Not outright rude, just unsettling in that “I’ve seen too many horror movies” way. The hotel is also inconveniently located, sitting further from Main Street than other hotels in the same price range—hotels that are way newer, better maintained, and more pleasant overall.

- Michael (10/5): A Great Place to Stay in Roswell - Check-in was very easy, and the location was also easy to navigate for someone not familiar with the area. It was very quiet and peaceful, and I never heard any neighbors.
- Carm (1/5): She ruined our stay! - The breakfast was good I reserved and paid up front for our room, went to a family birthday celebration. When we arrived the desk clerk could not find our reservation even though I had a reservation number. Finally after 15 minutes of back and forth she said they gave my reservation to someone else with the same last name. Ok she got us a room all ok until we went to check out they debited my card for the two nights. When I spoke to the person checking us out she is the manager she said we had to pay because the people who they gave our reservation too had checked out! Big deal they knew they made the mistake on Friday and never addressed it ? Very poor management. I informed her I was going to dispute the charges on my credit card. She said to me they are not going to give you your money back you will just have to eat it! $324.00 prepaid for reservation plus and additional $155. Just matter of fact conversation like to bad so sad. I walked away said to her we will see. I waited two days for those extra charges to come off my card after I spoke to my credit card agent. I finally got the extra charges removed, what was so difficult for her to switch our names and get the other peoples money? Makes no sense ruined our vacation with family we haven’t seen in years!

Picture one autistic child, four big suitcase, and two tired adults trying to wheel into an average size door. I would say spring for automatic sliding glass doors like every other hotel.

- John (1/5): Horrific and Extremely disappointing, for the birds! - Breakfast was a disappointment for a Marriott hotel but that was the least of the problems at the Fairfield by Marriott in Roswell NM. When we arrived at the Towneplace Suites by Marriott in Roswell with our Booking.com confirmation number and pin number we were told we had no reservation? The front desk attendant told us "this happens a lot?" She called the Fairfield by Marriott in Roswell and informed us they did have a room and she provided us with driving instructions. When we arrived we booked into a 1 bedroom King Suite room 215 on the second floor in the front of the building. What they didn't tell us at the front desk is that we were going to spend the night with the birds. Without exaggeration, hundreds of Pigeons making bird noises all night directly outside our window. Every 60 seconds there would be a loud popping noise device that would scoot the birds off the roof for about 10 seconds and then the birds would return. This continued all night. No sleeping that night! Also, the room had been sprayed with a strong deodorant apparently to mask the smell of the bird droppings outside the window? Avoid the second floor rooms at Fairfield Marriott at all cost if you are stopping there and planning to sleep.

The staff was very judgmental on appearances of others and quick to stereotype and I feel like I was violated by profiling. I prepaid for 2 nights got told to leave the next day because of the appearance of 1 guest that came up to see me! He wrecked his bike and had road rash on his face and the staff thought he was a meth head that picked his face.

Though the breakfast had some of the worst bacon we've ever encounter - it was not edible. But by far the worst part of the stay is that we were charged for parking with no prior communication that this would happen or the option to opt out. When we check-in the woman at the front did not mention it and it's not anywhere on the Hotels.com webpage. When I complained about it the next day at check out the person at the front desk was rude and tried to tell me I knew about it - which I did not. The charge was ultimately removed but it was a bad experience. To try and "secretly" charge for parking in the small town of Roswell is completely unreasonable. Buyer beware.

The not so good... the $100 non-refundable pet fee was not listed anywhere when i booked the room through Expedia. Also, i don't get the $10 parking fee for a non-secure public parking spot around the building.

- Bernadette (6/5): Good, but wish there was free parking - Room was spacious and clean, with temperature control for heating or cooling and you can choose the Fahrenheit you want. A pleasant surprise - the room was equipped with kitchen utensils, ceramic plates, bowls, mugs, and dishwashing soap & sponge. So I could eat my takeaway food in my room with a real plates and metal fork & knife. The phone in the room was not working. But the reception staff kindly helped me make a local call (free). The wardrobe was in the toilet. The wardrobe had a double door, and on one sides the door handle fell out when I pulled the wardrobe door open. The car park was charged at $10 per night’s stay. Breakfast was the usual hamburger patty, scrambled eggs, make-your-own waffles, fruits, juices, toast, coffee/tea. Location is convenient, short drive to restaurants & supermarkets. I would have rated it 5 , if not for the charged parking and the phone & wardrobe door handle.

From a dishwasher, to pots and pans, and a mini stove, this room had everything we needed for our week-long stay. I fully enjoyed my time at this hotel and found it very convenient location wise to explore all that Roswell had to offer. Highly recommend and will come back here again.
- Ashley (8/5): Clean Room - Room was very clean and quiet. I would definitely stay here again. Breakfast wasn't very good and parking is 10$ extra a day. No hot tub and bed not the most comfortable but ill take the clean room over the small negatives.

- JulieRose E (8/5): Out of this world (not that kind) but good ! - Our stay in Roswell was toward the end of our trip through New Mexico. This property was comfortable and what you would expect from this level of hotel. The area around the property is centrally located and easy to navigate. Roswell is a smaller town with most of its appeal geared toward “encounters of the fourth kind” ;p. We were traveling through but took the opportunity to visit the Carlsbad Caverns while we were in town ( highly recommend!) and took part in the alien culture around town.

First of all my fridge in my room wasn't cleaned and the outside swimming pool was open after sunset but without any lights on. The lights was broken front desk told me. - Amy (10/5): We felt safe staying with kids - Breakfast was good, staff was friendly! Our suite was clean enough and the kitchen was clean. The floors could have used a more thorough cleaning - and we found some loose change and old chopsticks. We might not have noticed any of that except we have small children. Our toddler’s knees and tops of her feet were noticeably dirty after playing on the floors. However, we felt safe in this hotel - and that was critical to us while traveling with kids.

- Andrey (1/5): Dirty room? No problem. Clean it yourselves! - The room was very spacious, comfortable furniture, and excellent amenities. The room was very dirty: dried human bodily fluids on the bath tub, long black hairs in the shower, food crumbs and animal hairs on the furniture, and burned food leftovers in the microwave. The front desk staff was rude. When we complained about the room, the staff handed us cleaning materials to clean it ourselves. The manager was absent and said that she could not come in for another three days. Discount of the 30 dollars was offered, but a full refund was refused, and the manager did not even give us the time to talk to us directly.

- JoAnn (6/5): So many maintenance problems -- BonVoy issue - Staff was wonderful and room was clean and spacious. But there were MANY problems. No ironing board, no luggage rack, broken table in living room, broken locks on doors, broken hair dryer, broken shelves in both bedrooms, broken drape control, no faceplates on phone so no way to know how to use them. The new shelving units in the closets are horrible. You have to be at least 6'6" to see in the mirror, the shelves and sliding baskets are useless and not having anywhere to put my luggage was very difficult. The bed was so soft that when you sat on it the springs poked you. Why does housekeeping not tell someone when there are things broken in a room? This is my 2nd Marriott BonVoy in a month and both were the same -- clean but VERY poorly maintained. They need to change their system because it is not acceptable. The staff was friendly and somethings got fixed the next day, but not everything. Asked again and some more got fixed but never got a proper working hair dryer.
- Stef (10/5): I would easily book here again. - Stayed 2 nights and the breakfasts were different, which was greatly appreciated. Even the fresh fruit was recycled from the day before. Kudos! Lemon/strawberry water available 24/7 in the breakfast area, along with apples. A very nice touch. Really liked the suite set up, with the bathroom being off the living room area instead of in the bedroom. Makes it nice when you and your spouse have slightly different sleep times. I don't have anything to say here:)
- Holly (8/5): Nice Stay, but need transportation plans. - It was a comfortable stay. The staff was pleasant and accommodating. The pool was closed and appeared to need cleaning. The biggest challenge with being in Roswell is that you cannot get around town without a car. There might be one Uber or Lyft for the whole town, but from what I could see, there is no public transportation. Thanks to the kindness of the local people, we were able to get around. I was there on business, and if anyone plans to go to Roswell, NM, they must either rent a car or make sure someone picks them up from the airport. Our plane was late coming into town and landed at 2:00 a.m. There was no ride-sharing or taxis available. It was scary! But thanks to the kindness of one of the residents, they gave my husband and me a ride to the hotel. Overall, our stay was great! Thank you to the residents of Roswell, NM.
- linda (6/5): - The pool was dirty, the breakfast was awful. The web site says that rooms are sound proof but in fact it’s very noisy. The web site also says that the facility is pet friendly. Friendly at a cost of $100 non refundable. That is almost as much as the cost of the room. Oh, and by the way, the price is mentioned on the bottom of the web page in fine print. Exact words from the hotel clerk. Since I booked through Expedia if I didn’t stay since I had already paid on line I’d lose my Money. Sounds like a racquet to me. I have a 2lb Yorkie who’s feet never even touched the floor. I won’t be staying at this hotel again. If this is Marriott’s policy I’ll rethink staying at any of their properties in the future

- Gloria (10/5): Great Facility and Location - The accommodations were fantastic! We were asked if we were members in the BonVoy program, no we weren’t. Program was explained and I quickly enrol. Enjoyed a mini apartment feeling, having a full refrigerator w/freezer. Enjoyed eating out for dinner and having the ability to reheat our leftovers. The bed was comfortable. We will look for TownePlace Suites for our future stays.

- Susan (4/5): Not up to Marriott standards - We had booked a handicapped assessable suite with a roll-in shower. When we called the front desk to tell them the refrigerator was non-operational, the clerk, in a rude tone told us the hotel was fully booked, they did not have a spare to bring up and we could not get a discount because we had booked though a 3rd party (we had not asked for a discount She added that little gem on her own) It was not a handicapped accessible room, as booked. No roll-in shower, for example, or higher toilet. The drawers on the dresser were broken and would not close, They protruded into the room, creating a tripping hazard. We had to wedge them shut with a paper wedge. Some hooks on the back of the bathroom door would have been nice. This was a huge disappointment, not up to Marriott standards.
