- Munazza (10/5): - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Lovely stay at Dreams Madeira We had a really lovely stay at Dreams Madeira. The resort was spotless, staff were friendly, and the atmosphere was calm and relaxing. I’d definitely recommend booking a Preferred Club room — it really elevated the experience. The time of year we visited was perfect, not too busy, and the evening shows were great. The only areas for improvement were the restaurant booking system, which wasn’t very straightforward (we could only book via reception as Preferred guests), and the sun-lounger cushions — they weren’t always available and, when they were, some were a bit mucky. Easy enough to fix with a towel, but slightly off-putting. Overall, a wonderful experience — we’d happily return!
- Jessica (6/5): - The place was nice, the beach within the hotel is great, staff are all very friendly and helpful, and the activities held by the resort are lovely. However: The floor of our room was filthy and was never mopped by the staff when they cleaned during the time we were there. Two of us got food poisoning that lasted 24 hours (we only ate at the hotel). This caused one of us to be unable to attend the whale/dolphin watching and due to it being too short notice, we were refused a refund on the cost of the trip. There are no security cameras near the lifts and toilets, which is pretty worrying as a woman. We found this out because one of us accidentally left their handbag in the toilet near the restaurants for 30 minutes and upon returning, the contents of it had been stolen. The bar service is painfully slow, especially the bar near reception, easily waiting an hour to order and receive a drink.They also dont play music and it's just awkwardly quiet in there, but it's the only one open late. There is minimal evening entertainment and everything stops around 11pm. It's very dull. The Mediterranean restaurant was pretty bland, and the tappenyaki restaurant was nice but a pretty minimal effort from the chefs. The Aircon broke in our room on our penultimate night. We noticed in the morning that it no longer stayed on and just shutdown suddenly despite working fine before. As we were leaving early the next day we didn't bother raising this.

Avoid at All Costs – Not a 5-Star Resort (Closer to 3 at Best) My wife and I stayed here 6 nights for our honeymoon (booked via Expedia) and it does not meet Dreams standards. We’ve stayed at Tulum, Riviera Maya, Cabo — this resort doesn’t compare. Arrival: No welcome drink/towel, no luggage help, no escort, phones never worked (safety issue). Room Service: €20 per order, limited menu, late-night “option” was a cold ham & cheese bagel. Phones broken, so all requests had to be made in person. Towels/Housekeeping: Inconsistent service, fresh towels only with tips, many ripped or stained. Pool towels only from 1 far location and had to be signed out. Water/Drinks: Bottled water scarce, gym cooler broken, alcohol bottom shelf, wine upgrade €35. Food: Often cold/bland, poor variety. “Unlimited à la carte” misleading — reservations almost impossible. Service: Minimal to non-existent. Long waits for menus/water, staff disengaged, language barrier huge. Facilities: Pools freezing, spa unusable 2/3 days with chemical issues. Lobby bar too small, toiletries poor quality. Departure: No help at 3 AM checkout, staff didn’t ask about our stay. Not a 5-star property — major issues with service, food, cleanliness, and management. Strongly recommend avoiding.

We had an issue with ants in our room, and even after they sprayed the room, we still had some which wasn't the greatest. Additionally, the dinner options were great, but they booked up extremely fast. I would make sure people know when checking in that you have to book your dinner reservation before 8:02am otherwise, it will be completely booked. At check in, they told us the dinner bookings are open between 8am and 4pm, but that's not quite true.

The buffet food was consistently lukewarm and lacked quality. Accessing the à la carte restaurants was nearly impossible, as reservations were always booked. We did experience an issue with our room, which was eventually resolved, and the Wi-Fi was spotty throughout our stay. We had upgraded to the Preferred Club, but in our opinion, it wasn’t worth the additional cost. Aside from a separate lounge with self-serve drinks and snacks and a private check-in area, we didn’t notice any real added benefits—especially since the regular check-in wasn’t busy when we arrived. On a positive note, the resort itself is beautiful. The rooms were stunning, and the surrounding grounds were truly picturesque. That said, for the price point, we expected a much higher standard of service and overall experience. There’s definitely room for improvement.

The service in the other restaurants is really slow. The review here echos the experience of many others and surprised that Hyatt are not addressing it. I also messaged their concierge service about this and the response I got was since you booked through Expedia, please contact them. So looks like they are just ignoring the fact that their brand is being affected.

- Dara (10/5): - Incredible resort. From the moment we arrived, the property was breathtaking and very well maintained. It has multiple pools and dining options. The food was very good with lots of options. Reservations for the restaurants opened at midnight and you had to book quickly or you won’t get a spot. The resort offered many activities throughout the day and night. The gym was well equipped. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. When the star gazing was cancelled, they put out the telescope just for us. Thank you Paulo and David! Ask for anything and you shall receive. This resort takes luxury to another level. It’s far from Funchal and not much around the property other than some beautiful hiking trails. However, the resort offered rental cars right on spot. The front desk arranged everything for us. We rented a car for two days and so glad we did. Highly recommend staying at this resort. Rooms are very clean and spacious with gorgeous views. Property is on a large hill with lots of steps so could be different for those with mobility issues. Would stay here again and again.

Their World Café International buffet restaurant had a great selection of food and lots of fresh local fruits! Service is amazing with cooked to order omelette station and cooked to order meats and fish to grill in front of you. The Cocoa Cafe is where you can order drinks and coffee drinks until 10pm. They also served sandwiches and tasty baked foods. The service here was superb! However, their a la carte restaurants need a lot of improvement. First of all, all their a la carte restaurants (except for the Você Beach bar and their sports bar restaurant) need reservation. Reservations are difficult to book through their online system. A la carte restaurants were disappointing and food & service was subpar. Seating areas by the bars and the pools were limited. It was a beautiful resort but didn't offer 5 star service overall. I would not go back or recommend this place. Not worth the money.

Our personal small villa pool had warm water but every other pool on the resort was cold and there were no hot tubs. The kids splash pad was a nice surprise as it was not advertised on their website. Location was close to a beautiful hike but a little far from the city. Keep in mind that parking and shuttles cost extra. Some things that were not so great are that our balcony doors would not open or unlock at all downstairs and the doors in the upstairs balcony would not lock. The bathroom also had some plumbing connection issue and although it was thoroughly cleaned it always smelled of piss.

- Thomas (8/5): Schöne, grosse Hotelanlage, jedoch recht abgelegen - Grosse, schöne Hotelanlage (all inclusive), verteilt auf mehrere Gebäude am Hang, liegt recht abgelegen und es geht immer ein Wind. Ich hatte zum Glück ein Zimmer nahe dem Hauptgebäude, wo die Rezeption und einige Restaurants waren. Das Essen war im Restaurant sehr gut, beim Buffett so lala. Den Tisch in den Restaurants (ausser Buffett) musste man im voraus in einer App buchen und man musste schnell sein, da sie Plätze rasch ausgebucht waren. Der SPA war noch nicht offen, dafür Massage und Schönheitssalon. Preise für Massagen sind für Portugal sehr hoch. Die Tiefgarage ist jetzt in Betrieb. Ein Platz kostet € 12.50 pro Tag. Gratis Parkplätze hat es in der Nähe, sind aber schnell belegt. Ein Wermutstropfen... zum Koffer abholen lassen muss man vorreservieren. Das hatte ich nicht gemacht und musste mein Gepäck durch die ganze Anlage schleppen

We had a sea view room (adults only block) which was really spacious, quiet and clean. Great selection of restaurants to eat at but we couldn’t get booked in to most for dinner due to already being at full capacity however, we were only there for 3 nights so if we had stayed longer, we would have been able to experience the different ones. The world buffet was always an option if you can’t get in to eat at the others. Overall we were very impressed for a first time all inclusive hotel break and we would definitely return back for longer next time.

- Verified traveler (8/5): Great resort, service could be better - We enjoyed the selection of food at the restaurants, and the quality of restaurant food, variety of drinks and cocktails, and the quality of the resort. Service could be better. At check in our room took 1.5hrs longer than we were told it would do, and then on arrival at the room we found our case had not been delivered and was still in reception (despite being assured it would be in the room). Waits for drinks and to have orders taken was highly variable, sometimes fast and efficient, sometimes very slow. Drinks and food would occasionally be mixed up or forgotten. That aside we had a great time overall.

There are multiple pools but all are in the low 60s (F) so too cold to go in. We saw one person swimming in one- that’s it- during a four day stay. The buffet is all lukewarm food and it’s the only food you can get unless you make reservations- which would be fine except they don’t tell you that until check in and then you can’t get a reservation at any of the restaurants for days, so you can either eat the lukewarm flavorless buffet, or you eat off property, so basically just ignore the all-inclusive benefit because it’s not legit. Other services advertised, like the boats from the marina, simply weren’t happening. It says three times a day every day but when we tried to book they said there were no boats at all that day. Overall just a complete ripoff. Could have stayed somewhere nice for a fraction of the price.
- Cécile (10/5): Fabuleux - Séjour très agréable dans un cadre exceptionnel. Prestations de très grande qualité, services et aménagements de l’hôtel sont vraiment hauts de gamme. Les massages sont également très bien réalisés et tes relaxants. Quelques petites fausses notes toutefois qui dénotent avec la qualité de tout le reste : odeur d’égout dans la douche qui ressortait la nuit, VMC des WC et de la SDB très très bruyante, ménage des chambres avec verres et bouteilles en verre laissées en vrac devant notre chambre. Service dans certains restaurants encore en rodage, notamment celui snack au bord de la marina : pas un verre d’eau ou un bout de pain à grignoter même pour les enfants au bout de 3/4h après avoir passé notre commande, nous avons changé de restaurant et ça a très bien été.

Aber sonst ist das Resort wirklich sehr empfehlenswert, Ausstattung super und sehr modern, Essen und Trinken hervorragend. Auch die Anlage und die Umgebung einfach toll.

Das Frühstück lässt keine Wünsche offen und auch die Qualität in den A-la-Carte Restaurants ist hervorragend. Besonders hervorzuheben ist das Cocoa Café, das sehr leckeren Kaffee aus dem Siebträger zu bieten hat! Ebenso gehören das Steak-Restaurant und die Sushi-Bar zu unseren Highlights. Kostenlose Parkplätze gibt es direkt am Hotel. Das Hotel hat seine fünf Sterne verdient und ist eines der besten, das wir je besucht haben. Einziges kleines Manko ist, dass der Indoor-Pool noch nicht fertiggestellt ist, ansonsten lässt das Hotel wirklich keine Wünsche offen.

However, the buffet was below average quality and made worse by being in a tight space for the number of guests they had. The staff were largely inexperienced, or lazy, and supervisors were working too much to be effective supervisors. The hotel itself is awesome with a village setting in a very picturesque location. My overall experience is good, but could easily been exceptional with better management of the staff and buffet.

While every person may have different tastes and likes, as an all inclusive resort, Dreams Madeira Resort, Spa & Marina, a luxury Hyatt collection hotel stands near the top. No need to read any further. Choose Dreams Madeira and then go get spoiled! Like myself, you’ll be patting yourself on the back, during and after your stay, for an excellent selection.
- Gary (10/5): - Absolutely the best All-Inclusive resort in Madeira. Dreams is a recently re-branded hotel resort complex covering a vast area from the beach all the up through a mini village. With a variety of rooms, and services on offer including restaurants, cafes and pools. Staff are incredible, always happy to help and seem very happy to work there with the exception of the World Cafe. We noticed over a period of the 3 nights we were staying there that there was a little battle going on with the local Madeiran staff and non local staff which to be honest is ugly and unacceptable. This happened to one of the cooks on station, he was shouted at by another cook which wasn't very nice. We also noticed this was done in front of guests which isn't very professional and we tried raising this with reception however, we were told to make any complaints through their website!! I informed the receptionist it wasn't a complaint but an observation but was ignored. Moving on, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and everything except the world cafe staff was just as expected from a Hyatt brand. I understand the hotel is opening in phases but would suggest more entertainment in the evening. Food was exceptional Staff were professional (mostly) Facilities that were open were great Getting around, very easy Internet, very fast Using the App to reserve restaurants, activities, great idea Free minibar in the room
- Christoph (8/5): Nicht alltägliche, aber interessante Hotelanlage - Ein interessanter Hotelkomplex mit x möglichen Unterkünften, die auf ziemlich viele Häuser verteilt sind. Dadurch ist diese Adresse eher für Gäste geeignet, die gut sind zu Fuss. Wir hatten z.B. ein Zimmer etwas oberhalb im dritten Stock ohne Lift. Für uns kein Problem aber wie erwähnt nicht geeignet für jemanden mit Gehbehinderung. Die Restauration ist ok, aber nicht überwältigend. Immerhin gibt es mehrere Gaststätten zur Auswahl. Insgesamt bietet diese Unterkunft einen interessanten Aufenthalt.

Ask for 3rd bathrobe, but never receive it. App is great for restaurant resevation but useless to order housekeeping or maintaince.

We had Also emailed the hotel various times to book a table for our gala dinner and had confirm that this had been done but to our surprise there was no table booked and we ended up with the last slot at 9pm. Spent over 1400 pounds for 2 nights with nothing to do as the hotel has recently opened but it’s obviously not ready and also short staffed. Hope we get some sort of compensation as this is really unexceptionable

Verschiedene Pools mit Bars, ein Meerwasserpool und direkter Meerzugang sind nutzbar. 5 Restaurants standen zur Verfügung. Die Speisen sind sehr hochwertig und gut zubereitet und wirklich sehr schmackhaft. Ein Tisch kann über eine App problemlos reserviert werden. Die Belegschaft ist außerordentlich freundlich und hilfsbereit. In der Nähe gibt es einen schönen Wanderweg der zu Fuß erreichbar ist. Im Hotel gibt es auch einen kostenfreien Parkplatz.Nach Funchal kann ein Shuttle reserviert werden. Einige Bauarbeiten finden noch statt, sind aber kaum bemerkbar. Der Indoorpool war noch nicht geöffnet.

Food was ok but was cold in the buffet restaurant. Despite so much staff the service to the lobby bar was slow and at the beach bar. The premium club food that was left out all day woul probably have given us food poisoning if we had eaten it. Too much staff versus guests meant meals were served so quickly and you felt awkward as they hung around in the restaurants. Nice hotel but some work needs to be done on the food for sure.

Il dispose de 6 restaurants un asiatique, un resto de viandes qualite , un portugais, un méditerranéen, un self , un resto de plage et un resto proche des piscines, 4 piscines exterieures, une intérieure ( pas encore ouverte), un spa ( pas encore ouvert) la qualite des repas est digne d'un vrai restaurant de qualité. Le personnel est prévenant. Nous avons passe un excellent sejour! Les chambres sont spacieuses avec balcon avec a disposition peignoirs chaussons, produits de toilette vegan bio. Un hotel a recommander !
