• Bradley (10/5): - Overall the resort was great. I liked the private pool in the villa, how spacious the villa was and the swipe card entry. Even the main pool area was nice! The only thing I was not fond of was the bathroom had a high adjoining wall to the villa next door, therefore you could hear the people in their bathroom. Apart from this, everything was perfect.

• Benjamin (10/5): - We stayed here for 2 weeks in Aug/Sep 25, location is excellent, just away from the madness but plenty of bars, restaurants and shops close by. Beach is approx 10 min walk away with loads of nice places for food and drinks. The villa's are lovely, well kept & clean. If I was personally being picky, only negative was the bed being 2 singles made into 1 which makes a ledge in the middle. other than that these ticked every single box.
• Ashraf (10/5): - Every property had a private pool which is excellent for any Muslim couples or families. Surrounding areas are very accessible with lots of shops nearby and amazing hospitality.

The configuration of the villas makes then quite noisy when neighbours can hear every single word when having a conversation.The bathrooms have an open shower which allows mozzies entry and dripping roof water when it rains ,the toilet is located close by and again any personal sounds are shared with your neighbours.Bar staff poorly trained and reception staff seemed bored..rooms are kept as well as they can be regarding cleaning.Certainly NOT a 4 star property! Would not stay here again. Look else where .. much better value available
• Phoebe Grace (10/5): - This place was an 10/10 and we will be back!! Staff were so friendly and helpful and remembered our names and villa number. This place is stunning and would recommend to anyone and everyone. Walking distance to the beach and in the perfect location for shops, massages, money exchange places, mini supermarkets and more. We had the perfect stay! Only gave a 4 star for amenities as the shower pressure was awful and not ideal at all. Had the plumber come and fix our hot water 4 seperate days but after that no issues besides the water pressure! We will 100% be staying at New Pondok Sara Villas again!

The rooms were tired needing maintenance and of particular concern was the floors that became very slippery when wet. I had a bad fall as a result and raised with Pondok but am not convinced anything will happen. On the flip side the location is pretty good but just tired with lazy staff

Also overall the property is slightly old and you can see paint chipping off the walls and lights not working well. It was a comfortable stay, but for what we paid, we would love it to be cleaner.

• Julia (2/5): - Disgusting. Mouldy green slimey pool in villa, old grey thin linen and towels with holes, dirty curtains, broken and dangerous sun deck. Tried to contact expedia 4 times with no response. Been going to bali for 30 years this is the worse i have seen in accommodation.

The villa was stunning at first glance, however we later came to realise that there was issues with the toilet, resulting in 2 episodes of flooding. There was also minimal hot water within the facility. I would recommend the property also invests in personal washing and ironing facilities as there was none available. Overall, it was an enjoyable stay and the staff were fabulous!

• Stephen (8/5): You get what you pay for. - Not bad. You get what you pay for with these villas. If you want 5 stars pay an extra $50-$100 per night. Breakfast delivered at the time you choose was ok but not fancy. Bed comfortable. Air conditioning in bedroom good. Villa was cleaned every day but old bottle tops were still in the garden. Staff need to go beyond the basics with maintenance. Villa pool was warm but had broken tiles and decking was loose. Main pool good. Check in strictly in 2pm. Southern villas get the maniacal rooster at 4am be warned not much sleep after that.

Towels need replacement- fraying and had holes in them. Microwave was listed but not there, also hair dryer had to be requested. Not value for money.

Need revamp as the rooms are very oljd too. Not going to come back again to this property till it’s upgraded . Not good value for money

The bathroom smelt like urine so we got some insence to mask that but that could be just a normal bali sewerge issue maybe. Bit of a walk to the main road and beach, it looks close on the map but we found it to be pretty far away. The pool was nice but a little dirty. I wish they had a pool fence option but it was very expensive to fence through the villa. The airport transfer was also expensive through the villa. You can hear other villas easily as bathroom and lounge is all open.

• Ednend (6/5): Villa really in need of renovation - Villa is quite old and in need of renovation. Private pool was quite dirty as you can see the dirt and grease at the bottom of the pool. My baby start to have rashes after our 1st day bath at the private pool and we stop using it after that. Break fast was send to the villa but the varieties is not much to choose from. You will be bored after the 3rd day with the same breakfast daily. No IDD call can be make from the room and you need to go to the front office to make overseas call. Necessities such like toothbrush, soap, cotton bud etc was stop been given after the 2nd day even though the housekeeping clean the villa daily. Overall, this is my 2nd time stay at this villa and seems the service (front office and staff) are going up but the villa condition is deteriorating. Villa could be too quite at night and the front door really need to be changed at it can been easily open from outside if you never lock it up properly. (They're still using the latching style front door concept.)

• Kevin (8/5): Location ideal ,private pool fantastic - The only problem with this complex is that it is hard to believe that it is only five years old.The two rooms which had use of were in desperate need of a freshen up, such as a proper repaint and general tidy up.The linen was also stained at times , the gate lock malfunctioned,pool stopped filtering, gas ran out, but all these problems were fixed promptly by cheerful staff.You could not ask for a better location so we were more than happy to put up with some minor problems
• David (8/5): Nice private and quiet resort. - Resort consists of 25 private villas with private pools, plus community pool and bar. In quiet area, but close to beach (5 min walk), shops and restaurants. Room was clean and comfortable, spacious, with all amenities. Breakfast served in villa was limited and no restaurant in resort, however many quality restaurants in close proximity. Staff extremely helpful and friendly

• david (2/5): Dirty old and pathetic room service. - Bad bad bad food in room service and breakfast. If its going to be that bandits better not to bother it at all. Staff didn't know the exit visa rules when asked. Room cleaning was terrible with dirty glasses, lipstick marks and dirt galore under the bed. The Doona was filthy undertone Doona cover. Lost power and hot water too many times during a five night stay.

• Verified traveler (4/5): Small Villas Hot Rooms - A decent walk back the lane to the Double Six Rd before you encounter any shops or restaurants. Pool average, decor satisfactory but bedroom under air-conditioned and very hot. Air conditioner turns off every time you leave villa making your sleeping conditions on your return uncomfortable to say the least. Food very average, even when it was a Balinese dish. Staff were very helpful and wanted to please but unfortunately we were forced to leave for more comfortable lodgings.
• John & Deb (8/5): Comfy & Close - We were fortunate to score a double room with a bigger pool albeit we only need one room. We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful and it was great to jump into the pool after our daily outings. The Villa was handy to a number of good restaurants and bars and 600 metres to the beach. The setting was nice and quite and an easy walk to Legian and great shopping. While we did not spend much time in the Villa, apart to sleep, it was very comfortable with effective air conditioning, a good size fridge/kitchen amenities and bathroom. Drink prices including beer and cocktails were very competitive with nearby bars. Overall a nice place to stay in this part of Bali.
• Carmel (6/5): Great location - Halfway between double six beach and legian st on a quiet laneway. Stayed in Villa 2 which was lovely..until we realised we had a resident rat sharing our little oasis. There was an issue with rat poo on our beds - on our last night - housekeeping changed all the bedding immediately.. I think they were aware of the matter prior. This issue aside - this is actually a really nice complex of villas. I would stay here again so long as the extrrminator has been in. I believe the problem is only with villa 2..a real shame as its a lovely villa! Staff are lovely.. room service menu is very good, food is very good but the breakfast is not the greatest. No problem as we enjoyed going out walking early and trying breakfast at the many different places around Seminyak.
• Francisco (6/5): Big villa right next to the beach. - The villas are big and you have your own pool which is nice. Staff is OK. Breakfast is good. Right next to La Plancha which has a nice beach to learn surf. Bathroom smelled like pipeline and the shower was moldy. Shower set up really weird. Either you had a frog statue spitting you water from a hose or you showered in a super low shower which was uncomfortable. Mixed feelings.

Had a villa with outside doors that would not lock and looked broken. Nit much privacy in adjoining villas, could here the people next door the whole time. Fridge seal was black with mildew. Staff were friendly enough but didn't seem to do much, especially the cleaning staff. Fantastic location though.

• connie (4/5): - Entrance to the establishment littered with garbage. Villa garden area dirty and clear roofing around foyer and lounge also dirty. Room towels were aged grey and frayed as were pool towels. Dressing gowns aged and grey instead of crisp white/new. We weren't game to wear them. Tissue box had only 5 tissues, and hand soap dispenser empty. Water runoff in hand basin kept getting blocked. Very small hanging wardrobe space
• faye (10/5): Close to beach, shopping and restaurants - Had a fantastic time, loved the area, it was easy to get about, taxis were easy to get so travel was not a problem and being in the shopping district made it all the more better
• Amanda (8/5): Beautiful villa with private pool - Our villa was spacious, clean and the bonus of a private pool for a swim to cool off at the end of the day. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this to anyone without little children (because of the private pool).
• Verified traveler (6/5): Great & friendly staff.. - Great hotel staff..very cheerful..if only they could put additional TV inside the room..Toilet are spacious, only a bit of rusted here & there..should re locate the hotel map in the GPS..nearly takes 1 hour to find it!
• Jeremy (8/5): Paradise hidden from the hustle and bustle - Pondok Sara is hidden down a long driveway and just far enough away from Double Six that you dont have to hear the busy street. The staff are always happy and friendly and will point you in the right direction or fix things up for you and even will call you when a tour driver has arrived and fix things in the villa for you. The villa is beautiful, the pool is such an amazing thing to have right outside your door and the airconditioning in the bedroom is a godsend after a hot day. However the tv's location in the living area made tv watching something only reserved for cool nights and the couch cushion material was ridiculously uncomfortable. The bed was hard but after a night of sleep it didnt matter, its big, the pillows are big and plump and it doesnt matter after a hot day in the sun however a few times we noticed that the sheets had a couple of stains. The doors as well had little openings so mosquitoes sometimes made their way in but they have mosquito coils and a big can of spray to ward them off. In the bathroom the big tub is amazing and the toilet is up to western standards. The included breakfast is very good, there are heaps of choices and they're all yummy but the orange juice is always warm with some ice cubes. Room service is prompt but the food offerings arent anything spectacular, just average but if you're going to try anything try the Pondok Sara Pizza. The wifi situation is the only downside, the connection is poor and it always disconnects.
• Verified traveler (8/5): Nice Staffs - Staffs are all friendly and pretty helpful. Very courteous as well. I was traveling alone and thought this place is really convenient for solo travelers.
• Charlie (8/5): Comfortable and close to everything - We had a really lovely stay at the New Pondoksara Sara villas. The staff were very helpful with any of our requests and the food was ok but not great. There was only air conditioning in the bedroom which would put me off going there again, the living area and bathroom were both open air. The room was clean, but to be picky it was filthy under the bed. The thing I loved about this place was the location. You can walk straight out to market style shops, the big supermarket was just around the corner and all the seminyak shopping and restaurants were a 5 minute taxi drive away if you don't feel like walking. The beach is also a short walk away with lots of great places to eat on the beach front too. It was really nice being able to swim in the pool after getting hot during the day. Overall we had a lovely stay and were satisfied with the hotel but may pick a different place to stay next time.
