Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This Hotel is the perfect place for a weekend away.
Room was bang on and the breakfast was a traditional but with the right quantities of everything.
I would definitely come here again.
We’ll be back to Blackpool and I know where we’ll be staying.
- Ben (4/5): - Friendly owner but very rude receptionist who didn't care about my concerns, run-down local area, no parking to speak of (4 tiny spaces for a 36 room hotel), Internet didn't work and no one knew how to fix it (router password was set incorrectly), depressing 1970s decor in tiny room, broken window jammed open letting in a gale and rain.
By any modern accommodation & service standard, this is a poor contender and could do with investment in the hotel itself and staff training.
- John (10/5): Best hotel in Blackpool! - Friendly efficient courteous staff. Excellent food and in house entertainment. Would definitely come again. Good value for money.
- Paul (8/5): Lots of effort - The Hotel is nicely situated, about a mile and a half from the centre of Blackpool. The effort Martin and Angela put in to running it is unbelievable, they are there serving breakfast(which is very nice) and still going strong doing a very entertaining cabaret act late in the evening. Our only gripe is the lack of parking spaces, only enough room for four cars, we ended up going round side streets looking for a place to park
- Andrew (4/5): Great location, but too much for multi task staff. - People have different standards from different backgrounds. What is normal for some is unacceptable to others. As reviews rely on honesty and context, I will first give some facts instead of opinion or details of our stay.
The main on line holiday advisory service which I use to help choose a destination or accommodation, had not a single bad review.
Rooms a collection of various colour schemes and furniture, dated.
Room facilities and set up uncomfortable and impractical for young families.
Strange smell through out the hotel mainly down stairs.
Guests were rarely seen other than congregating at Breakfast or in the entertainment cellar bar. Reception and sun lounge area, best part of Hotel with nobody around. Great views from the lounge.
Saw two rooms, both were only superficially clean. e.g. half full Childs drink down the side of the drawers, hair on floor, chewing gum tablets on top of wardrobe.
Showers dated and broken in places, shower mats allowed foot pan to fill up and drain slowly, of which had mildew underneath.
In my opinion it reaches out to a select group satisfied with this standard of accommodation. I can not comment on the entertainment as although it was said to be very good and professional I did not fancy sitting in a sweaty hot cellar with my family and neither did they. We are a diverse outfit that take our hand to many different types of travel, accommodation and cultures; however this was not our cup of tea.
I feel disappointed and let down.
