Guest Reviews
- Chris (2/5): Hotel Closed - The hotel was closed for business, and had been so for several months. No notification from Hotels.Com. We had to find alternative accomodation.
- Verified traveler (2/5): cant review this hotel, it wasnt open. - Couldnt stay at Marnoch Hotel as it was locked up, no staff in attendance, nobody answering phone or emails so had to find alternative accommodation after two hour wait for contact.
- Paul (10/5): - Great friendly hosts. Lovely Breakfast. Good location.
- Andrew (10/5): Lovely and friendly hosts - 2 night stay for the Great North West Marathon. I will definitely recommend this hotel for an affordable and comfortable stay with an excellent breakfast.
- Matthew (8/5): Good - Nice place, very friendly owners, rooms a bit dated but good location and reasonable.
- Dave (10/5): - Good area close to pubs, easy parking, friendly people
- Louise (10/5): - Amazing value for money, the 4 of us stayed here 2 nights and had breakfast included. The owners were really friendly and helpful, made us feel extremely welcome. The room was clean and great for what we needed it for. Had a fan in the room which helped me to sleep at night too and was in a great location not far from north pier but also not too close to the busy front.
- richard (8/5): - Lovely couple, really friendly. Good breakfast.
- Joanne (8/5): Addams,Family trip away - Lovely trip and great setvice from a really nice and friendly couple. Breakfast was good quality quick service.
We also stayed an extra night which was no problem for the owners. Room was spacious for the 4 of us, if you looking for good budget hotel these guys are a,good stop, close to amenities aswell.
- Helen (10/5): - What we wanted was a place to lay our heads at night, we got that and brilliant hosts! Always welcoming and breakfasts were brilliant. We would definitely stay again.
- Robert (10/5): Great find - Lovely peaceful stay .lovely people and great breakfast .kids loved it as did we .nothing was a bother.
- Simon (6/5): - The hosts were really nice, friendly and welcoming, unfortunately the guest house was a bit tired and in need of updating. But more so it wasn't very clean which was disappointing.
- Andrew (8/5): - Had a very pleasant stay lovely breakfast warm cosy family room was made welcome on arrival and will stayvagain
- David (6/5): - We were looking for included parking & breakfast which the Marnoch provided. The breakfast was excellent, setting us up for the day perfectly.
The property is an easy walk from the town centre/north station/north pier. We experienced no issues but there are a number of derelict properties & seedy looking bars in the immediate area.
The rooms were basic and in need of updating but were comfortable. The bed linen was clean but the furnishings were tired/stained/marked. Bathrooms were functional but far from luxurious.
Owners were great, a friendly & charismatic couple. Blackpool is always a great place to visit.
- sandra (4/5): Rude abrupt woman and dirty place never again - It is such a shame the gentleman was lovely but his wife can’t communicate so abrupt staring horridly, first words were i want no drama! Breakfast is at 9 on the dot! There was dust everywhere in our room an inch of it sat ontop of the headboards:( place hasnt been updated since the 70s
- hannah (10/5): - Lovely stay for me and the kids breakfast was lovely defo be back again
- C (10/5): A little gem - We arrived well ahead of check in time so we got a parking space. Our room was ready so Rose accepted us straight away . Room was totally acceptable to us. What we got for what we paid was excellent.
- Jude (10/5): - Welcoming friendly good breakfast. Room was a bit dusty
- Leah (10/5): - Absolutely brilliant service couldn't do enough for my girls an got up extra early to make sure they had breakfast before a day of dancing thankyou Terry an rose
- John (8/5): Jo jo stay. - Lovely friendly couple very helpful welcoming.
Let us check in early which was a godsend tbh.
Breakfast was nice although early but thats just me not being a morning person .
Location thort was ok close enough to everything but far enough so was quiet .
Only problem was my mobility issues with the walking distance was bit pain but anyone who is ok shld be fine .
- Lee (8/5): Blackpool's Just Great! :-) - We was lucky enough to have on-site parking, check-in was quick and easy and breakfast was great :-)
- vivien (8/5): - the bathroom was not very fresh. dirt behind the toilet. shower was inconsistent
but on the plus side the breakfast was really nice

- louise (8/5): Day/ night away - A bit dated, friendly couple, nothing was to much trouble, on hand to sort any problems. Room comfy and spacious
- Rebecca (2/5): - Didnt end up staying here had to book somewhere else, was due to check in at 2pm but arrived early so went to ask if we could park in our reserved space then go back at 2pm and i was absolutely shocked how i was spoken too, folded arms and horrible attitude not a way to speak to ur paying customers.
- Paul (10/5): One Night Stay - Your typical seaside resort guest house, room was clean with fresh linen, decor is dated but you get what you for. Breakfast was included and served with choice of tea or coffee and fresh orange on the table
- Geoff (4/5): - Breakfast was nice. Room dated with a funny smell in the bathroom.
- Geoff (4/5): - Our bedroom was.terrible,wallpaper hanging off,shower not usable,not clean.bad smell,in bedroom.
- J (4/5): - The location was good but the rooms need updating the bathroom was very small the cleanliness was not up too good the car parking was free but not very ideal at all t
- Arouge (10/5): Very pleasant, definitely recommend. - The room was clean. It had a double and a bunk bed. The beds were very comfy. We were provided with the a heater and a fan which was great for us. The room was quite, few general noises from outside but nothing major. The breakfast was good. The owners were very friendly and easy to talk to. The place is not too far from the blackpool tower, it took us about 15 mins to walk it with a toddler and a 7 year old. Definitely will be booking with them again.
- David (10/5): Nice stay at Blackpool. - Good stay, nice breakfast, good location only 5mins from town, free parking but book early (and ask) as there is only two spaces on site! Bedroom clean and ok for the price.
- Peter (6/5): Ok for Overnight stay - Check in good, large room, comfy bed, good shower. Could of been a bit cleaner mirrors dirty, few hairs on shelf under mirror.
Breakfast was ok just needs better sausage.
- M (6/5): It is what it is....... - Rose our host was friendly and a great host at breakfast.
Room clean but very small for a double. New mattress or topper would be good. Other rooms were open for cleaning they were bigger, so its the luck of the draw I guess.

They even let us leave our car there the next day. Full english breakfast was perfect, would highly reccommend we will be back. Thank you so much chris, jen, jess
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Terry and Rose are lovely hosts. They made us very welcome and we enjoyed chatting with them. They were helpful, and informative with regard to local attractions, many of which are just a few minutes' walk from the hotel - excellent location. Great to have an on-site parking spot, too. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. We enjoyed walking along the promenade, having a paddle, reading the Comedy Carpet in front of the Tower, watching a demonstration of rock-making with the letters going through it, an evening at Funny Girls and a drink in the Flying Handbag. And much more! We would definitely stay at the Marnoch Hotel if we visited Blackpool again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Friendly owners, helpful. A good B 'n' B. I don't like using bed and breakfasts, but if I had to I'd use this one again.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Bugs in shower extentions leads in room old furnture host not good
- kevin (10/5): Was just a stopover - Was looking for cheapness for a room with a breakfast for a night. Read a lot of reviews for a lot of places and they all have good and bad reviews. i eventually chose to stay at the Marnoch. I paid my £50 for 3 ppl and i believe it was money well spent. I got exactly what i wanted great host, good breakfast, great location for Blackpool, clean towels, clean sheets, tea, coffee, kettle, toilet paper + a comfortable bed. 10/10 for all of that.
There were a few things others may find an issue with though, although it didn't affect my stay. The rooms are not the biggest, the TV was quite small. It would not be the best if spending a lot of time in the room.I was fortunate to get a parking space on the street right outside. Not sure if there was a designated car parking area. And finally the seagulls made a lot of noise at daybreak (but it is Blackpool/seaside) so it wasn't too surprising.
- Gary (4/5): - Just needs a complete refurb, friendly owner's breakfast was ok .
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We stayed in the familly room. It was a lovely room and so much bigger than we expected so pleasantly suprised. Lovely couple that run the place...We had to leave early in the morning, (grandaughters dance comp) so the landlord put breakfast on early so we could have some. We felt very welcome and would definately stay here again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very welcoming hosts, great location and Breakfast was spot on. Would stay again.
- Susan (6/5): Not the best. - The room was tatty and very dusty. Black mould stains above the shower due to no extractor fan. Bed sheets didn't fit the bed and had Mark's on them. Breakfast was good though.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Excellent location for where we wanted to go and great breakfast.
- Alison (6/5): Good location - Good location.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Shower did not work cold water tap did not work bed was old and did not sleep on it bathroom needed cleaning
- Simon (8/5): - The hotel is well situated, the owner was very friendly, good value for the £ 50.00 bed and breakfast
for 2 people
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel - Nice hotel nice host bed a little uncomfortable but other than this nice stay
- steve (8/5): pleasant - nice warm friendly hosts close to beach and trams very good breakfast
- Ian (8/5): Cheap and cheerful
- Basic b&b. Everything you need for cheap stay in Blackpool. Lovely breakfast and very nice hosts. Free parking which is great in Blackpool. Don't understand the bad reviews. Get what you pay for and this is good value, probably the best value b&b I've had.
- miss (6/5): Hotel quiet and welcoming - Hotel rooms small and barhroom very small but was fine for our over night stay and owners very welcoming.
- Leanne (8/5): - Service was good very basic room breakfast was nice
