- Ali (9/5): Best pub in Banbury - perfect for overnight stay. - Almost everything. Lovely room, great pub, comfy bed, nice staff, car park on site. The shower was rather a trickle…no power in it 😞. Would still stay again though.
- julie (10/5): Fab little hotel and a lovely pub with character - Location and very friendly staff
- Gamze (8/5): - Nicely decorated room, comfortable bed, friendly staff the room was cold and the heater wasn’t working properly, there was 2 dogs walking inside the bar
- susan (3/5): Never again! - The location was great in town. They have a car park. The bed itself was comfortable. The room was so dusty and full of cobwebs in every corner doused in thick dust . The room had not been cleaned properly behind the bed and skirting boards probably since it was decorated. Dust clung to .the wallpaper and we felt it was going to drop on us in the night so we couldn't relax in bed. The vent in the bathroom was clogged with dust. The base of the sink and toilet was dusty which meant neither had been cleaned properly. The carpet was disgusting.
- Philip (9/5): Great location, friendly staff. - Great location and clean Nothing
- Grace (9/5): - Town centre Location, lovely pub with friendly staff
- Mitch5555 (10/5): Great place to stay when in Banbury - Great place to stay and a lovely big rooms.
- kim (8/5): Three pigeons - The welcome..we had a great host. The room was beautiful and cosy, location perfect and parking on site. A bit dusty in the room.
- Harriet (8/5): -
- Jayne (5/5): Adequate. Wouldn’t choose again. - The room was warm, comfortable and quaint albeit very poor lighting. Couldn’t see well to get ready.
Car parking and good toiletries. Access felt limited with minimal human interaction. Poor lighting. Not greatest value for money. No food served on the premises. No water in room. Didn’t feel secure and confident as a solo female guest.
- Michelle (8/5): Comfortable one night stay - - large room with plenty of facilities in room
- well decorated and comfortable
- friendly staff and pub
- perfect location to town
- parking onsite
- easy check in and check out - facilities needed refreshing / cleaning ( shower needed a descale as water wasn’t coming out well
- kettle had seen better days
- bathroom taps wobbly
- bathroom blind was dusty
- Stephen (10/5): Excellent place to stay - Very Characterful Nothing
- Alan (9/5): Very welcoming staff and lovely stay - Everything was perfect the room we stay in excellent There was nothing
- Tom (9/5): A great end to a short 3 day break with friends. - Great pub in excellent location for accessing pubs and restaurants in Banbury. On a busy junction but no problem with noise. Room large and well equipped. Staff welcoming and very helpful. No issues. Car park is relatively small, but our party (2 cars) parked without problems.
- Sharon (8/5): Very good . - Location was perfect The hand dryer in the toilets could be heard from the bedrooms upstairs which was a little off putting as constant whilst pub was open .
Plug missing from bath .
- Christine (10/5): Will definitely be back!! - Such a beautiful room, with lounge area too. Extremely clean with every facility you could need. Quiet and lovely olde-world feel. Staff were so attentive. Car parking may be an issue - we just managed to squeeze in
- Paul (10/5): -
- Luke (7/5): Had a great time, would likely stay again despite the lighting. - Location was ideal. Staff very friendly. Good sized room. Porridge and tea/coffee came in handy. Room isn't very well lit. Relying on two bedside lamps isn't enough. Tricky when getting ready for a wedding.
- Sally (10/5): Amazing - The room was absolutely gorgeous. Steve and staff were so friendly & helpful. Just a few minutes from the canal & shopping centre. Ample parking. Highly recommended. Nothing!!!
- J (6/5): - Lovely welcome to a room refurbished a few years ago. Bed wasnt the most comfortable, but the main issue wsss cleanliness. Pics attached of dirt around the bath. There were cobwebs everywhere, the main light heavily caked in dust. Thee whole thing could do with a deep clean.
- Brian (8/5): -
- Leasa (9/5): - Everything Nothing
- Jeffrey (8/5): Very comfortable bed and lovely staff - Location No draft lagers as there was a technical glitch and the shower tray had not been throughly cleaned and a lot of cobwebs in corners of the beams
- Jen (9/5): Lovely spot, great value - Great location to explore Banbury and surrounding villages. Lovely manager, nice pub. Stayed on a Saturday night, still very peaceful in the rooms. We had 2 rooms, both really nice and spacious. Thank you for a great stay!

- Mr Swinnow (10/5): - The very sexy Aunt Sally game Nowt
- ELLEN (8/5): - Friendly welcome. Central location. Nice quirky room. Comfortable bed. Like so many places, a charging point by the bed would be useful.
- Owen (10/5): -
- Georgina (10/5): Great stay, will come again! - I stayed here for Fairport’s Annual festival in Cropredy. The location is perfect for either walking down the canal path to Cropredy, or catching the festival bus.
Room was comfortable, clean, perfect.
Such a friendly place to stay.
I won't hesitate in staying here again. There's nothing to not like. Its a gem.
- Bryan (10/5): - We were met by Steve who couldn't be more helpful or pleasant! The room was well laid out and very clean and comfortable
- Mark (8/5): Hot - Everything was great except the temperature and light levels in the room. It was far too hot and pretty dark
- Susan (8/5): Very good -
- Stuart (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stephen (8/5): Very good -
- Denise (8/5): Very good - Lovely old pub in short walking distance to the town centre. Beautifully decorated room and bathroom. Bed very comfortable. Complimentary tea, coffee, biscuits and porridge. Very quiet. Cobwebs!! All around the ceiling especially over the bed and very dusty bedside lights.
Shame the kitchen is no longer open
- Simon (8/5): Great but no food - Great place but no kitchen, so no breakfast or dinner. Easy walking to other locations though. Friendly people and a good traditional pub
- Kat (7/5): Pleasant pub and cosy rooms. Would stay again - Excellent location. The room was very cosy and clean with everything you needed (except tea). The bed was comfy and the room was quiet. The croissant / porridge pots were a nice touch My husband would have liked a cup of tea in the morning but there werent any tea bags within the kettle / facilities. The pub was closed when we came back at 10pm and it would have been nice to have enjoyed a drink at the bar before we went up.
- Oliver (7/5): Comfortable but had to go searching for food in the center - It was a lovely old country pub and was comfortable There was no breakfast and no food so it wasn’t good value for money
- Marcus (8/5): Weekend stay - Fantastic room, really large and parking on site. Nice little seated area which was secluded and part of the bar. Just wished they had served food, but town is only a 5 minute walk
- Anthony (9/5): Overnight for event in Banbury - Perfect location as the event we were at was there. Really nice welcome. Comfy and generally clean. Parking at the back. Good central Banbury spot. Nice beer! Room Now under the thatch was real cool. Nothing of issue. Maybe suck the cobwebs from the beams etc.
- B (6/5): It was satisfactory but expensive considering no cooked breakfast was provided - The bed was comfortable and the bedding was clean.
The check in was efficient and communications were good. The cobwebs!
Two minutes with a feather duster would give the room a much cleaner and cared for impression.
The shower wasn’t clean and the limescale was quite bad.
- Janette (9/5): Superb -
- Elizabeth (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful room. Very friendly and helpful staff.
- Ewen (10/5): - Beautifully well kept and clean room in a lovely pub, with very friendly staff.
- Steven (6/5): Mmmmm.. - Pretty average pub.
No breakfast option was disappointing as “we don’t have a kitchen”
Room had contact lenses from previous year on the bedside cabinet .. place could have done with a clean tbh.
Water only just hot enough for a warm shower.
- Tom (10/5): Three Pidgeons - Super place, really clean and tidy. Friendly atmosphere and the pub was magic. Stayed for a couple of nights and had access cards to get in and out. No food at the pub but beer was cracking!!
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jason (10/5): lovely - friendly, comfy, quiet and cosy nothing
- Steer (6/5): Pleasant -
- Lisa (5/5): Passable - The location is good, car park on site and check in nice and welcoming. I have stayed here numerous times over the years prior to 2022 but had not stayed here for the last couple of years and it was not as good as I remembered it.
- Paul (9/5): Superb - Lovely room Nothing
- Kat (9/5): Superb -
- Dave (8/5): Nice pub with rooms in city centre Banbury - Spacious room #3. Nice, characterful pub. Excellent location. Friendly staff
- Judith (8/5): Very good - Warm friendly welcome. Good sized room. Conveniently located for town centre
- Gpoct (9/5): Superb -
- Rachel (8/5): Very good -
- John (8/5): Great! - Great pub and room. Stopped doing food which is a shame.
- Sarah (7/5): Would recommend - Lovely staff, clean comfortable rooms great location and on site parking is a bonus No food available. There was a Croissant in the morning and porridge in the room which is a nice touch but it would’ve been nice to have evening meal there and a cooked breakfast. However there are many restaurants 5min walk away.
- Alan (8/5): Did the job and the land-lady was very helpful and welcoming. - Nice traditional pub with rooms. Bed was squeaky.
- Keith (8/5): Very good -
- Darren (8/5): Review day in Banbury - Nice place overall with a good sized room and bathroom, in a great location to walk into the centre. Staff where great. Could have been cleaner. No restraunt on site and breakfast was just a porridge pot and cake. Plus mind your head on the beam, I didn't and it hurts!
- Anne (10/5): Brilliant pub and b&b - Beautiful pub with fantastic and comfortable rooms. Second stay here— thanks so much Carla— you’re a wonderful host!!
- Caroline (8/5): Lovely clean room, friendly staff. - The rooms are clean and well presented Bed could be more comfortable and less squeaky. Nescafé always disappointing anywhere
- Hilary (10/5): - Lovely renovated prooerty
- Emptage (9/5): Superb -
- Alison (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ann (8/5): Our second visit. Comfortable room though insufficient light. Excellent customer service with a smile. Biscuits and inst - Location, friendly helpful staff Lack of restaurant
- David (8/5): - Very friendly staff made us welcome. We were fortunate that live entertainment was on that evening that added to the atmosphere. A simple breakfast is provided in the room. We used the local eateries for our evening meal, most within walking distance. Altogether a lovely stay. Word of warning the pubs ceilings are low, rooms are fine, again adds to the atmosphere but hurts when you forget.
- R (10/5): Just a nice room - Great place lovely pub and nice staff
Just a shame no restsurant .
- Janet (7/5): Good -
- Amie07 (10/5): Exceptional -
- Matthew (5/5): Great character in a convenient location but lack of restaurant was disappointing. - Quaint & quirky. Comfortable bed. Conveniently close to centre of town. No restaurant. Floor very creaky/loud. Was hot (upstairs room); no A/C & windows didn't provide sufficient airflow.
- Gerry (7/5): Good - After a shaky start, the building was not very inviting and looked a bit run down, we were given a very warm welcome and a surprisingly nice large room. The room was quiet and we slept well. The manager/owner was very nice as were the customers in the bar. There was no breakfast service but there was tea making and some croissants and instant porridge in a pot for the morning. The front of the pub was a bit scruffy and on a main road, but as a result it was very easy to find. It was a 5 minute walk into the centre of Banbury.
- Perry (10/5): Great place to stay in Banbury - Excellent and very welcoming. All ready and waiting including parking when we arrived. Very comfortable room, bath and shower
- Hilary (8/5): Very good -
- Verified traveler (10/5): A very pleasant stay - Looks can be deceptive. I needed an overnight stay on my way to London and booked a night's stay in this pub with rooms. Easy to park and had a warm friendly welcome and offered a decent sized room well appointed and clean. No food was available, however, only a short walk from several other pubs serving food and good restaurants who can look after you. Breakfast wasn't available, however, they leave some very tasty breakfast snacks for you in the room wit plenty of tea and coffee. I would gladly stay there again without hesitation. A great little overnight stay if you looking for that old English pub style accommodation.
- Kerrie (10/5): Highly Recommend - A great place to stay. The room was very clean & comfortable. Great location for the town centre & included parking.
- Michael (9/5): A great place to stay when traveling as bars and restaurants readily available close by and situated centrally. - It was clean with a warm welcoming atmosphere, near to everything needed for a short break or traveling for work It’s a pity there was no restaurant for evening meals and breakfast.
- Jane (6/5): Pleasant -
- Sarah (7/5): Convenient pub for Banbury - Good size room. Nice size bathroom and shower.
Easy parking. And staff very friendly We were going to eat at the pub, but they now don’t have any kitchen staff. Luckily it was only a short walk to quite a few pubs and restaurants.
It was a Saturday night and the music was quite loud, but was turned off at 10.15.
- Gillian (10/5): Snuggly -
- Karen (8/5): Very good - The room was very spacious and comfortable. There were beams running through and the room was tastefully decorated. It was a very warm weekend so the addition of fans a great touch. There was a complimentary croissant and porridge for breakfast and the bathroom was beautiful. The bathroom tap was a bit lose and the bed a bit creaky but it just added to the character of the place. The staff were very friendly and helpful. If you struggle with mobility it may be a bit far out of the town, although the walk is flat. Just something to consider.
