• ISABELLE (10/5): Parfait pour une halte lors d'un voyage itinérant - Le petit déjeuner Situation géographique C'est la deuxième fois qu'on séjourne dans cet hôtel , la première fois on nous a réclamé une taxe de 20€ pour 4 jours . On avait été signaler à l'accueil que les taxes étaient comprises avec notre réservation Booking mais on nous a répondu que booking ne leur payait pas la taxe. ? L'hôtesse n'a rien voulu savoir Cette fois-ci la taxe a bien été comprise lors de notre réservation et on ne nous a rien demandé à l'accueil.

• terencef462 (10/5): Quick last minute break - Just back after a wonderful week , Hotel lived up to the expectations judging from previous reviews, the all inclusive was very good. Couldn’t really fault the food and the breakfast lunch and dinner with a varied choice of options. Local drinks plus cocktails of Mojito or tequila sun rise served by lovely Natalie. Room service good our room spotless though bed spread slightly old and but thread pulled , would go back again only downside was the road noise as the hotel is situated between 2 main roads one out back near to our room and the main road with buses and coaches frequently passing, but fabulous value for money for what we paid

• jacquiep2024 (10/5): Lovely little hotel - My son and I stayed here for 4 nights. When we arrived we were shown our room, but there was an issue with the door. We reported it to reception and the maintenance chap came straight away. He wasn't able to fix it so we were given another room, nothing was too much trouble. The food was nice, a limited choice, but this isn't a huge hotel. Snacks were ham and cheese wraps or croissants which were fresh and lovely. The pool was really clean and well kept loads of sun beds. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you for a lovely holiday!

Τα στρώματα στα κρεβάτια ήταν σκληρά επίσης υπήρχαν δύο ενωμένα μόνα κρεβάτια αντί για διπλό ! Οι εγκαταστάσεις παλιές.
• classysassydavies (4/5): Tired .... In need of a make over! - We love Crete and its people. We have been visiting Crete for over 30 years and these days we stay on the south side of the Island and return annually for our 3 week holiday. However, we have used this hotel on and off for many years as a one/two/three night stop over to meet friends who run a business in Rethymno and was also a half way point when we used to fly in to Heraklion. Unfortunately, from what was once a decent hotel and was one of the more appealing 3* accommodation on the strip in the 1990s, we have seen the deterioration over the years. Whilst it’s obvious that other hotels in the area appear to have smartened up and moved with the times, Hotel Palladion has stood still in a negative way. Located on a busy road, easy access to the beach, good tavernas/restaurants within walking distance and close to those who want a little retail therapy in beautiful Old Town Rethymno, which is only a short bus ride away. The hotel looks tired and is in desperate need of a modern make over to meet a 3* rating. The bedrooms might have had a fresh lick of paint but the furniture and headboard look dated. On a positive, the beds were comfortable with a good quality mattress and pillows, but not very inviting as the brown tatty bedspreads/quilts needs replacing. They have been there for decades and it shows. We found the bed linen and towels clean but cannot comment further as we only stayed one night. The shower cubicle is very small – I’m only 5’1” and found it a bit of squeeze, but it was clean. The TV wasn’t working but due to the duration of our stay, we didn’t complain. Equally, cannot comment on the evening meal as we ate out. Buffet style breakfast was average and can be a bit of ‘bottle neck’ as the buffet is very tightly spread in quite a restricted space. Nothing Cretan about the food but meets the requirements of some guests I’m sure. (Not all of us like homemade Cretan food). Personally, it doesn’t look particularly appetising either and proven right as the “omelette” squares were very rubbery. Loved the Greek Yogurt, which I then queued to top with honey located next to the pot of Nutella! Because you are in a tight restricted area, the queue formed quickly as the Nutella proved extremely popular with guests in front of me, then had to wait for it to be refilled! Sometime later, with a bit of DIY at the table, we topped the yogurt further with some fresh fruit and nuts which we had brought with us. We also had brought our own favourite coffee granules as the coffee from the machine tastes dire. The grounds are neatly kept and the pool and pool area clean. We had no issues with the staff at reception and found them very polite and accommodating when we requested a room change. The hotel backs on to the busy National Road and bedrooms situated here are disturbed by heavy traffic noise. I seriously question whether the owners ever look at these negative reviews or indeed, interested. So many of the points noted here have been raised months ago with photos to prove it. (the scruffy bed quilt for example). I don’t think I need to leave a recommendation, my comments says it all.

• Voyager21348308544 (10/5): In 30 odd years of staying on Greek islands this hotel has been one of the best for its chilled out ambience. - We stayed from 23/09 -03/10/2024 arriving at about 0300hrs to a very warm welcome by our host who carried most of our luggage up to our room. The room was on the top floor with a balcony adjacent to an olive grove with views to the sea and the mountains. Twin beds were the most comfortable we have slept on in over 30 years of holidaying on the Greek Island. The room facilities were more than adequate with a great en-suite shower, a tv and free safe and importantly, free aircon which was very much needed. Breakfast choice was enormous, in the American style and delicious. All of the staff were very welcoming and helpful and the whole ambience was very chilled and relaxing. One of the best holidays we’ve had.
• PIG2122 (2/5): Giv it a miss - We dont usually go all inclusive as travelled all over greece bnb and wanted a change . Breakfast was quite varied but cups werent refilled quick enough so were always running out for the coffee machine which was vile no matter what button you selected . Evening meal was very dissapointing to say the least . We were there for two weeks and every evening pasta and spaggetti was the main meal , the only thing that changed was the pasta so we ate out every night so unless you crave spaggetti take extra funds . The first four days the bar had run out of vodka and could only offer gin baileys or tequila so we bought our own , the girl who ran the bar was very rude and had a face like a slapped a..ehole and spent most of the time sat on her phone , no music atmosphere in the bar . At 4pm sandwiches were put out on the bar ,but were so dry im pretty sure they were using keftovers from day before so give them a miss .Room was ok but very small shower and never any hot water when you came off the beach wanting to wash to go out so had to wait over an hour for water to heat . Cant complain about the surroundings as very close to the beach and booked lots of trips with centre next door . Hotel could do with an upgrade and also would be great to have a bin in room as well as shower room as you have to use same bin for your rubbish as well as bum wipes which is not nice . The staff on reception were great and always helpful . If you want a bit if atmosphere and varied meals book elsewhere
• georgiamW1637WM (4/5): Avoid terrible hotel - Hotel was located in a great area, close to the beach, plenty of bars and restaurants, travel shops for day trips and ATMs. However the hotel itself has a lot to answer to. The day we arrived we were not told of times for breakfast lunch and dinner, no wrist band provided which I found odd due to the bar being open to public as well as the guests at the hotel. The man on the reception was really creepy and made me, my mam and sister very uncomfortable. He actually told my sister to come back later on her own as he had a secret to tell her and we weren't the only targets so if your going on holiday by yourself I would not recommend this hotel. I put a chair infront of my hotel of a night time just because he made me feel unsafe. The positives of the hotel was the food was lovely, very authentic to Greece. I can't complain about that however if you're going as a family with either fussy eaters or young children there isn't a great variety for children that would not usually eat something out of their comfort zone. The bar was another downfall to the hotel. We was all inclusive however the drink choice was not great. I like a good variety of cocktails and this hotel had only two different ones, as well as dry wine and no Prosecco. The lady on the bar was nothing but rude. Made everyone in the hotel feel like an inconvenience, she was miserable and constantly either on her phone voice messaging or nowhere to be seen. She also pick of chose when to close the bar. When the website states 11pm and she closes anywhere between 10/10.30. She also selectively chose who she liked and didn't liked given us who she didn't a plastic cup for all of our drinks and glasses and big portions of drinks to those she liked. There was also no music around the pool or the bar. The lady behind the bar had white music for herself! The only alcoholic drink that was nice was a mojito or a baileys however with the baileys she did 1/4 measurements. The shower was a-bit minging if I'm honest dirty and if your a tall or larger person you aren't gonna have much luck trying to get a wash. The pictures on their website are not even there pictures either and from a hotel down the road so really it's false advertisement. And they tried to over charge us hotel tax as the end of the stay when on the first day was told €12 for four nights and then when we checked out they tried to charge us €48 which makes me think it was due avoiding the creepy man as it was a lovely lady on reception on the last day of stay.

• Sandy195627 (4/5): Stay somewhere else - This hotel is so tired, the rooms are small and full of cracks, damp in the bathroom. The shower is tiny and it foams up out of the drain next to the toilet. The bedding is stained and old. It needs some serious attention. The pool is nice a bit small for the amount of people there. No towels are provided so we bought some from the shop across the road. The bar ran out of drink and we were left with either whiskey or vodka. We ended buying our own from the shop. The food is awful. Very limited choice at all meals. You were lucky if the food was lukewarm. You are strongly encouraged to clear up after yourself, plates,glasses,everything. Really disappointed. We ended up spending so much money on eating out. The few restaurants around it are lovely and most do takeaways as well. But wow did it add up. Considering we were all inclusive! The town is a bus ride away and is lovely and the day trips are amazing. Crete is a beautiful place but stay somewhere else.
• T8301RAwendyw (6/5): Do it yourself, hotel - We went to this hotel for 10 days. we was greeted by the reception.He did not show us our room but told us where to go.no one to help you with your suitcases.the rooms are very old.the shower was so small my partner had to stand outside the shower to get washed.the food was awful and I have never been to a hotel where you have to clean your tables there is a trolley where you have to put your plates cutlery.and when you are at the bar you have to do the same.when it came to drinks they never had them.so you end up going out to the shops to buy some.the only good thing is the lady just out side that does the day trips she is so helpful.and the restaurants are good too specially if you like steak which they do in the restaurant down the road, the pizza one

• barbarapL3707XW (2/5): A suggestion : Renew it! - Booked this hotel with a package offer. From the pics seen was nice... however once there we have realized that was not nice at all. Outside is ok, like the pool and restaurant (only the room). The bar would need a renovation and provide different things. The rooms old but, fortunately, with good mattress and pillows. Curtains and blanket old and damaged. The bathroom a disaster... even impossible to take a good shower! So old and dirty for the usage... The menu at the restaurant was always the same and not good at all. I had the impression that they do not even cook but take it from an external catering, which could be good if you do not choice the same as the hospital ones. The cleaning was nearly sufficient... leaving the change of the towels every three days, you have to make by your own every day the bed... Never seen before. The good thing is the position and the bar tender. They do not have a beach hence you have to pay by your own a beach resort if you want to have the beach umbrella and beach chair.
• zackb561 (4/5): I lost weight on holiday - Overall great location (great restaurants in the area and the beach access was great), fantastic cleaners (they were very kind) and nice staff. Everything else was shockingly disgraceful. I was very unsure of what food I was eating, at one point I ate a “meat” that looked like an unknown substance that had a strange consistency. The food was more despicable than GRU in the first Despicable Me, for a few days straight I mostly just ate carrot as the other food did not look appetising in my opinion.
• NickofNorfolk (6/5): Clean hotel, dreadful food - We arrived at 11.30pm, it was very dark, the young chap in reception was unwilling to show us to our room, he would only demonstrate were it was by an unintelligible map and pointing into the dark. Traipsing through an unfamiliar building with suitcases is always a joy, watch out for trip hazards! The hotel is very clean and the rooms are well maintained by the cleaning staff who provide an exemplary service ensuring that clean towels and sheets are available, the hotel is also well situated surrounded by great places to eat, tour operators and a few minutes walk from a lovely beach. However this is all let down by the food which I will describe as being distinctly soviet in taste and appearance, it is bland and salty and clearly not prepared by someone local to the island. Oddly what you would usually expect to be served at lunch time is available for breakfast, the lunch and evening meals are shocking, lumps of brown congealment coating mysterious meat, on occasion a material which might be chicken is available. This afternoon amongst the feeding troughs was a concoction of salad and boiled eggs over which a pink substance had been ejaculated. By the miracle of science the pasta is often translucent and accompanied by an inedible sauce. There is no food available aimed at children’s palettes, such as chips or even ice cream. This afternoon the bar only has ouzo and rum available, remonstrations with management have only resulted in them saying it is not their responsibility. Inexplicably the bar music is the same two generic Ibiza tunes, constantly on repeat, this actually a form of torture My advice would be not to go all inclusive at this hotel

• beav999 (10/5): Great place, budget but brilliant - Great, just great, Good friendly staff who work hard. Simple selection of food cooked really well and tasting great. Rooms cleaned every day Pool nice A good mix of customers here, UK France Poland Ukraine Russia- all good good people, smiley and friendly and ours kids enjoyed making friends as did we. The rooms are a bit small and basic but it's good value. Id like a little more storage in the rooms, maybe some drying racks outside. No ice cream for kids but grab one over the road no problem. Location is quiet but nice. Beach is close but you have to be able to swim so not great for little ones All in all, really good
• Ioannis (7/5): Good - The location is very nice, very easy to find and close to a decent beach if you want to go for a quick swim. The breakfast was quite nice as well. The rooms look a bit old, they could sure use a bit of 'freshening up'. In some of the rooms the sheets could be somewhat cleaner (in one case there were some stains that hadn't been been fully cleaned up by the washing machine. It's a bit expensive for what it offers but given how busy the area is and the general prices it's a good deal.

• Tear (8/5): Average good room in rethymno - Very close to city centre with a car and.good.spot for family holidays. It could be a little more comfortable, and they really need to work out the breakfast they serve.

Poor food choice - I stayed here with my family there was 6 in total all inclusive and I don't think it was worth it - the food is cooked well but the choice was really poor and it was the same everyday, we ended up eating out for tea and the snack bar open 2pm til 4pm was shocking! I have experienced better hotels Cleaning staff were nice the female bar staff poor attitude! The pool was lovely and plenty of sunbeds which I was originally worried about! Heads up! Just so you know if you book without transfers from Chania airport to the hotel and back it cost us 260 pound!

• Krishna (9/5): Superb - Staff was really nice, friendy and helpful. Hotel is surrounded by nature and location also good not that far from Rethomno city. I would love to stay in this hotel when i come to Crete next time. recommend this hotel for family :) 😀 The room was not really ready when we reached the hotel because AC was not working and bathroom tap was broken but they have changed the another room after we complain. Staff were really helpful.

• R597CXjordanl (10/5): Brilliant 👏 - Lovely hotel, very clean and the staff are amazing. I would absolutely return. Great location to the beach, which is a maximum of a 10-minute walk. Shop over the road for ice cream and whatever else you need. Bus stop just outside. The food was good. We all found something to eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

• Giuseppina (6/5): Reception/maintenance service was great but not all the rest - Reception service was great, especially Andrew was really helpful and proactive,he resolved most of the issues we were facing.At the check in ,he was very welcoming,he made sure our room preferences were met. Room was nice and clean, in a quiet place with a nice view. Also the bar and his service ,which was with nice music and atmosphere;a good place to have a coffee or a drink. The service of the technician who did maintenance in our room,he has been very quick and came asap. The position was central,you could go with a bus to Rethimno.There was a nice movida until 1 pm,area plenty of restaurant and bar to have a stroll after dinner.Close to the beach (2 mins walk) We didn't like the behaviour from most of people from the restaurant dinner and breakfast hospitality.At dinner sometimes we were ignored and drink were ordered very late that once arrived after one of us finished eating. The dinner buffet didn't have any name label of the plates/ingredients listed, neither no one you could ask that. The dinner food was too spicy/not cooked properly.We didn't know the food was usually spicy.Also it happened an unpleasant event at dinner so we couldn't stay no longer there to eat dinner. Breakfast:If you were arriving half an hour before closing,it was missing almost everything as it wasn't replinished.Once at breakfast we stayed without almond milk even though we have requested that for specific reasons ,because also people who didn't request it were taking what was meant for us and left with none one day. There was no fresh fruit for breakfast even if you arrive early in the hall,we would have preferred fresh fruit at breakfast not fruit syrup. There was also flies in the breakfast/dinner hall going where the buffet was. We didn't like the areator that fell in the bathroom but it was a problem solved asap,the next morning. We didn't like that Housekeeping was taking the towels left dirty on the floor and was placing them back on the handlers, luckily it was solved at the end of the stay. The shower curtain wasn't efficient,water was going everywhere. The hotel needs a restructure as a bit old. The sea was usually wavy ,often very wavy you couldn't even bath on the shore as there was red flag.There were also rocks in the sea and we needed to be really careful. There was no good quality/price for the period we stayed as it wasn't high season.

• Barbara (7/5): It was ok, but could be better. - It's a nice hotel but a little bit old. A very friendly and helpful staff. Good and tasty food. The rooms need some update, the bathroom especially. The bathroom shower was small. Wasn't renovated for quite a long time. Would be nice to have mustard also for breakfast, not only for dinner. And butter was missing for dinner.

• Slavo (5/5): Passable - Perfect location in Adelianos Kampos, close to Rethymno. 2 minutes walk to beach. - comfortable beds - Staff at reception was perfect and very kind very poor breakfast selection, no fresh fruit. Only tomatoes were available among fresh vegetable. Low quality products. - bathroom shower was extremely small (60x60cm). Hot water issues - it took 10 minutes to get hot water no matter what time I tried (morning, evening, night) - and even water temperature was not stable after that. Old-school shower curtain was really small and ineffective so basically taking a shower meant flooding the bathroom. - very weak AC or missing proper maintanance - room temperature comfort was very low, it took 1h to lower temperature in our room. - bathroom amenities were not refilled, I needed to request shampoo/shower gel at the reception. Receptionist told me that they do not refill amenities, however I received new shampoo/shower gel. - water in hotel pool was green and dirty, it looked like pond water, I could not believe they do not clean pool like in other hotels. - poor wifi connection, extremely slow and huge latency
• Tomas (8/5): Nice location but hotel requires some improvements - Nice location, big room, comfy bed, nice gardens Poor WiFi connectivity in room and outside, basically no Wi-Fi in room is working and disconnecting continuously/poor coverage outside. Problems with hot water, last couple days was without hot water. Not enough shower supplies for two people, and it’s not refilled even after room periodic cleaning. Food is mediocre, almost identical food for all days, but for such price it’s ok. In the evening water could be free instead of paying for it all the time, all the other beverages can be purchased
• Hayley1986 (10/5): Marvellous stay in a fantastic place - We had a fabulous stay! The hotel is situated in a very good area close to beach, shops, restaurants, golf and kids arcade just opposite. The hotel is very well kept. The public areas and hotel grounds are always spotless. The pool is a very good size with plenty of sunbeds. Breakfast is quite good with cold cuts, pastries and hot items ect.. Dinner Is very tasty. Salad bar with plenty of healthy options and main course consists of meat, fish, chicken and also vegetarian option available. Reception staff went out of their way to provide us with a kettle:) There is absolutely nothing to complain about.
