Shower head was disgusting although when we told the staff it was cleaned immediately unfortunately I didn’t notice until I was ready to get in it then had to get dressed again and wait for it to be cleaned. TV was tiny. Lamp didn’t work. Location was good for a night out for drinks in snaith
- Danny (10/5): - Loved the Indian restaurant within the pub, food was so flavourful best curry I’ve tasted, the rooms are in a separate building just off the back, so don’t worry about your room being tainted by curry odours. Pub does food as well which looked good, would definitely recommend

- Alison (10/5): - Rooms in annexe adjacent to pub which was good with adequate parking and lots of lical eaters and pubs around. Garge across road was handy also. Rooms are basic but very comfortable all you need. Did not eat at pub so cannot comment on food but .did have drink there. Brewers up road aldo serve food. Nice sray.
- Niall (10/5): - Really friendly staff, who were only too willing to go that or do extra to make our stop soooo good. Excellent food and drink on site, cannot say how pleasantly surprised and impressed we both were.
- BEN (2/5): - The communal area was very dirty and the room was not much better either. It smelt very musty as did the bedding and towels. Although the building looks to have been built in the last 20 years, there is very little sound deadening and you can hear literally everything in the adjoining rooms (not great if you get a snorer as a neighbour!) The only positives I could find was the Indian restaurant above the pub which was amazing, and the village itself seemed nice!
- Sean (8/5): Filthy scummy shower - This is a lovely place and the staff are wonderful. Room was great, and I would have given an extra star however; the bathroom shower was awful. The grime and build up of mould and dirt was caked on the shower head and all around the seals. A spatula would have removed significant amounts of dirt cake. This should not have been allowed to build up, which would have taken months of neglect. I don't wish to offend, but this was a big problem which made me not want to shower, so I had a squaddie wash instead, at 5 in the morning before work, this is not great.

- PENELOPE (4/5): - Accommodation was okay bed was clean but the bathroom was extremely dirty bleach works wonders but not in this case very disappointing didnt dare shower on 2nd day went home for a clean one. Staff and food in the pub was great but will not stay over ever again. I would post the photos of the disgusting bathroom but not able to.
- Graham (10/5): Nice friendly place, food not to be missed! - Friendly and helpful staff, assistant manager very helpful, quickly sorted out a minor problem in the bathroom for us. Bed was a bit lumpy but we did sleep well. The meals in the dining area are excellent, great choice, great quality and generous portions! Good parking facilities and easy to book in.

However, the window wouldn't open (a plug in fan would suffice), the taps wouldn't turn off (new washers?), the beds were soft and squeeky (need replacing) and the plastic soap dispenser was so old it fell off the wall to reveal mould underneath. That said, we had fabulous pizza at the nearby Plough Inn!

- Dean (4/5): Not up to standard - Dated room, poorly maintained. Cramped. Toilet seat broken. Bathroom badly painted and repairs were poorly completed. Tiny mirror, scaled taps. Noise from upstairs. Really warm all night (it had been 24°C during the day). Little ventilation - sash window wouldn't stay open.

The pub was open and serving food. The room was a bit tired, but it was clean. It is what they advertised, and I am happy with my stay there.

- gwyneth (8/5): - The rooms were good but in some instances could do with a refresh. They contained everything you need. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There was a generator or kitchen extractor close to the rooms which was making a constant noise all night. There was an excellent Indian Restaurant upstairs in the pub but the acoustics were very poor and on Friday night one table of sixteen was making a terrible noise so be warned.
- Tracy (8/5): A comfortable place with wonderful staff and food - Had a warm and friendly welcome, the food is amazing with the added bonus of having the choice of eating in the bar or upstairs in the indian restaurant. Both are wonderful. Lovely comfortable size bedfoom and bathroom, the walls are a little thin but thankfully the adjacent guests were courteous and respectful of others.
- Rob (8/5): Nice little pub. - Not a bad little pub to stay in. Price for a double room was a reasonable price. I’ve stayed here 3 times and in different rooms. But the room that I stayed in this time the bed really does need a new mattress, extremely uncomfortable. In each of the room the showers could de with de-scaling. There is an Indian restaurant attached to the pub which is really good. I didn’t eat in the pub restaurant. Bar staff and really friendly and helpful.

- Jenny (10/5): - Everything was great. The pub is totally pet friendly and the young lady behind the bar was the perfect host. The cleaning staff were fabulous and really helpful. Because the weather was so hot, and the room had no air conditioning I would probably get an upstairs room next summer (or this!) because it was very warm at night!

The restaurant shuts at19:30 and although they do mention breakfast was available, I was told there was No breakfast in the morning. Unfortunately all of the eating places in the town also shut at 19:30 so if you are later in arriving or have an early starter you will struggle to eat. I would not stay here again
- michael (2/5): go somewhere else - we booked a non smoking king size room, however there was just one window, which has a bench just outside for smokers. there was snail trail on the carpet, The on suite bathroom had no working fan, so all the condensation and smells have nowhere to go but in to the bedroom. the place smelt. just outside there was very loud fan by the kitchen which was left on the whole night. the bed quilt was 13.5 tog, (this is mid may). too hot to use and too cold not to use. we had a terrible night. i do like to support small business but my advise is go somewhere else.
- Janet (8/5): Would use again. - Easy to find. Warm welcome, friendly staff, lovely big ground floor room. Able to park outside. Evening meal was plentiful, well cooked and great value. Only two downsides. Mould in bathroom needs addressing and mattress on double bed needs replacing, single bed was fine. Would use again.
- Fran (8/5): Happy for one night stop over - As we only booked the day before I dont think they were expecting us. The electric heater soon kicked in and warmed the place up but as it is a row of motel style rooms opening directly from the car park, there was a draft through the door. The pub itself was inviting enough and we waited there with a drink for the room to heat up.

- Sally (8/5): - Nice room clean bedding and plenty of towels only stayed one night as we were attending a wedding at the Carlton Towers which is just up the road.Easy check in and the young lady behind the bar directed us to the car park which is behind the pub next to the accommodation.Lovely little village plenty of pubs and a lovely bakers just accross the road. Would definitely use again if in the area.
- Sharlene (6/5): Stay away. - 1 night room 8. Checked in at rhe bar. Pub looked nice tidy clean. Went to room. 1 thing to say. Dont stay. I have never stayed in the most dirt room EVER. Mens face hair from shaving ALL over the top of the sink. Hair in bath plug. And not just a strand. Dont think ever cleaned. Towels of odd colour thrown on a shelf. The bed sheets and toilet were clean. And thats all we touched. Mugs were full of dust. Jug just yuk and dirty. Abd wasn't even a cheap night. Food in the pub was nice. Curry restaurant up stairs. The photos show the dirt.

- Verified traveler (2/5): - We did not want to stay after the first night and discovered that going through Expedia gave us no benefits for cancellation. If Expedia recommend this hotel they should stay in it. Absolutely disgusting, it was dirty, old and very uncomfortable. When we complained we might as well have been talking to the wall. We will never go to this “dive” again and certainly not use Expedia again. A Very disappointing experience with service and accommodation

- Jim (8/5): - Clean and tidy, but the room was cold, heating not adequate. Hot water when running was only luke warm so unable to shower or have a bath. The staff were pleasant and courteous. The outside overhead gutter above the door was leaking so when it rained heavily it cascaded against the wooden door, making it almost impossible to sleep, me being a light sleeper.

- Dean (4/5): Quite disappointing - I found the Downe Arms to be a little disappointing although all the right intentions are there. A few things stuck out: - - The bathroom was unclean. Dusty floor and surfaces, either not been cleaned or not be used in a while. Part of the skirting board behind the toilet was on the floor. The shower screen was dirty and streaky. - The bed was uncomfortable, springy and could have be helped by thicker sheets or a mattress topper. - When checking in I asked about breakfast, what did it include. “I don’t know, there’s a breakfast menu in the room” came the answer. No menus at all in the room. - Dirty milk sachets in the room - Loose tea bags in the room. Whilst a bluebottle fly buzzed around the room. - The automatic night light outside of the room buzzed on and off and it sounded like the Captain’s assistant from the Disney film Wall-E. - I thought I’d go into the Pub itself for breakfast. The door into rhthe pub was locked. Rang the doorbell, no response.

- Ian (8/5): Cold - Room was an icebox when I arrived, I assume heating had just been turned on, luckily it was mild eve! Staff and management were very friendly which compensated for the cold room ⛄️
- Nigel (4/5): POOR VALUE - For £55 you expect the room to be warm and a nylon quilt cover - no. This is basic living. A lot of the fittings look like they've been sourced from a Car Boot sale. The bathroom has an uninsulated floor so it's always going to be cold and it smells a bit. If the outside temperature was not so low, the heater would probably have coped but I'm guessing it's only 500watts so it took 10 hours to reach a temp of 22 degrees. I didn't think they made televisions at 14" anymore but either they do or it's another car boot purchase. The occupant of the upstairs room can be clearly heard as he snored most of the night. The food in the pub was okay but again it was hardly cosy.
