Guest Reviews
- Brauer (10/5): Clean, close to shops, and you can't beat the 1950s Butch the Cougar motel sign! - The front desk was very pleasant to chat with. The location is perfect-easy access to shops, restaurants, and of course.... the BEST UNIVERSITY IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD. While the decor was stuck in a time capsule, it had all the amenities: mini toiletries, microwave, fridge, hair dryer, TV, and wifi. The only thing it didn't have in the room was coffee. But the lobby had coffee and it was good coffee on top of that! I'd definitely stay again. Nothing really.
- Trish (6/5): Was clean enough, staff was nice, but won’t stay there again - Convenient location Full beds not queen, no ice machine, no WiFi
- Blackstone (10/5): -
- robert (3/5): paid $240 for an 80/nite property. Welcome to Pullman, WA - nothing paid TOP DOLLAR for a run down, badly remodeled shithole. It was clean.
- Audry (6/5): -
- Khalia (4/5): -
- jeffrey (5/5): -
- Holly (8/5): -
- Paul (8/5): - Patterned sheets were a surprise change from standard whites, and very comfy. That alone raises it above expectations for lowest price available, when all that was needed was a bed.
A facility built for a different era.
Sad to see a pool filled with concrete, even though I wouldn't have used it.
Limited contact with staff, but pleasant check-in.
- Gunstrom (1/5): Never stay here - There was nothing I liked. The staff is from a third world. Country does not care about how you feel. When I got to the room it looked nothing like the picture they showed on line.
There was no TV the people above me. Were having sex all night long and banging and dropping s*** on the floor. I will never stay there again and I.
Would never recommend anyone else to stay there either? Worst accommodations I've ever had. Again, wouldn't waste your money staying at this place? It really sucks my charge was $94. I ended up spending over two hundred dollars because they double charged my card
- Barbara (8/5): - Clean, comfortable bed and a convenient location with a breakfast place next door.
- David (10/5): - Always pleasant and friendly
- erik (2/5): - Pore service, spiders in the room, bad parking, bad bedding
- Denise (4/5): Best for budget wise and high tolerance - Room towels smelled of smoke
Bathroom had scout ants roaming around
Door locks were minimal-for ground floor
Bed was comfortable and clean
Check out: no one was at office at 9am so left key in box. Received a call questioning me how I wanted to check out.
- Chatters (8/5): -
- Doris Felipe (8/5): - Smell of bug spray as I entered the room during this stay.
- Maranda (10/5): -
- saed (1/5): I do not recommend anyone to deal with this old lady. - Nothing The room had blood on the mattress and in the bathroom, and we informed them but they didn’t care.
The old lady at the reception is very bad — she didn’t want to return the $100 deposit.
She told us to clean the room before leaving or it would be deducted from the deposit.
We didn’t use the room at all, just slept, and in the morning we were in a hurry to work.
Then she deducted $30 from the deposit just to tidy up the room.
The old lady is very bad, and the reception smells terrible.
- Mimi (6/5): - The staff was rude and for the price they charge there were no amenities. Not even coffee in the room.
- Joe (8/5): - Tough weekend to get a place in Pullman, Washington with the college opening up this was clean, convenient and staff were cordial
- Mark (4/5): - Checking in you're treated like you already did something wrong. The list of things you have to initial are worded honestly rudely. They have $500 fees if you smoke in your room or have a pet, "As assessed by the cleaning staff". No WiFi. The shower has no meaningful lip at the bottom and the shower rod is an arc that bows outside the pan, so when you take a shower either you have to face the shower head against the wall or you have a flood. Half the bulbs in the room don't work. How hard is it to tell the cleaning staff who regulates extra charges to replace bulbs? For the money, it was not completely awful. There are far, far better places to stay in Pullman.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Staff is kind and pleasant. Rooms are updated snd clean. Its a no frills place, but a pleasant stay. Quiet location
- Josiah (10/5): - Not bad. I slept alright
- Eclectic (9/5): -
- Steven (4/5): - Burned out lighting No electrical near bed for C- Pap machine. It was probably a nice place 50 years ago. Now it seems just run down
l
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Safe area. Walkable to restaurants and shopping. No frills room.
- vickipH4598IA (2/5): Terrible! Worst travel experience yet. Should have slept in my car - Worst motel/hotel ever! Confrontational staff, charged me from across the parking lot at my room door, 1/ 2 hour after check in. Screaming because they wanted more for the pet deposit than I had already paid by contract. Harassed and threatened me. Floor was dirty. Screen was ripped, finish and walls chipped, dirty parking lot too.
- ROGER (6/5): - I was not expecting much for the price. The room was clean. Needed a no-slip bathmat for the shower and there was no body soap in the room. I used my own. Some of the lights took a long time to warm up to get sufficient illumination. There were no outlets by the bed to plug in my cpap machine.
- Jordan (6/5): - The bed was very comfortable and the stay satisfactory. The front desk didnt seem very friendly or helpful. The room was clean, but things like the door, drawers, and the AC were obviously worn down and could use maintenance.
- John (10/5): - Modern, clean room. Great price for the value.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Good, clean, comfortable
- Joseph (6/5): It's a cheap place with a friendly owner. - We knew it would be a low budget place, and the amenities were in line with that. The outside door nearest our room did not lock, so anyone could enter the building.
- Rhea (9/5): Superb - The proprietress of the establishment was extremely welcoming and made sure that we enjoyed our stay. There was a small issue with the satellite dish not wanting to work in the first room we were given, but she promptly switched us into another room when I inquired about the TV not working. She even allowed me to verify that the dish was operational in the new room before we moved our belongings! At the time my son and I checked in there was another family checking in as well who were attempting to sneak 3 additional people into their 2 person room, and were quite rude and abusive to the proprietress when she reminded them of the occupancy policy. I was very impressed by the way she handled their tantrum and still maintained a safe and respectful environment for those of us who follow the rules. I'm addicted to chewing on ice, so an ice machine would be an amazing amenity for me personally. Otherwise the room was clean, the service was exceptional, and the location 2 minutes from the WSU campus can't be beat.
- Lonnie (2/5): RIP OFF - Didn't bother checking in. The communication was pathetic.
Pretty sad when your amenities offer sheets and towels!!
- Jason (2/5): Horrible Service - Booked through Hotel.com but the property charged us separately. They reversed some of the charges, but not all. They apparently do not have a working telephone, essentially no way to get ahold of them.
- Jack (6/5): Needs Improvement - Rooms need sound proofing, doors need to have dead bolt work. Bed rather hard.
- Lilybeth (2/5): - The room smelled bad. The television was not working the entire time and I went to front desk to advise lady at front, I believe she’s one of the owners, that the tv was not working and she said to keep trying and that she couldn’t do anything about it until next day which is when we were leaving. No compensation, no offer to change rooms or tv, nothing. I contacted Expedia after I checked out and they straight up lied when they were contacted and said that nobody had complained about tv not working. I can’t believe they would just lie like this. No wonder all the bad reviews they have. Will not stay here again and don’t recommend.
- Mulufuaina (8/5): Very good -
- Jose (8/5): - Good but to old
- Bryanna (4/5): Great room horrible staff - Honestly the stay was great the bed a room were perfect…. That it tho
The lady at the front desk was extremely rude and charged us extra $12 at check in because we didn’t have the $50 check in fee that this site doesn’t mention
So just a heads up THERES AN EXTRA $50 dollar charge at check in
- Miguel (2/5): - No me dieron cuarto en buenas condiciones y me querían cambiar el precio y no agarre el cuarto
- Elwis (8/5): - Solid no frills room. If I'm traveling by myself I will stay here again.
- Laura (4/5): - The front desk staff were rude and unhelpful. I felt like she was annoyed to have to check me in.
- Alex (10/5): - cheap but goog
- Keith (2/5): Stay anywhere else. Even a motel six is better tha - I would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy. It looks nothing like the false pictures. They are posting to get these rooms rented. They haven't been touched since at least 1970. They're filthy and I think they have bed bugs. The room stunk, they put us in a room that had no working t. V. And they overcharged us by another fifty dollars when we got there
- Keith (8/5): - Stayed a night traveling thru town. Convenient, comfortable and the price is right. Will be back.
- KENNETH (8/5): - Location
- edison (4/5): - Rooms are old and the service wasn’t great
- Tia (3/5): Poor - .good location The bed was very very uncomfortable, super outdated
- Brad (6/5): Pleasant -
- Steve (4/5): Only place that was in town for the graduation seams like they raised the prices because of the grad - There was no breakfast the place is very dated our hair dryer was burnt up
- Sengvilay (3/5): i probly would not stay here again even if it were the only place available - i stayed out of the rain. staff was un pleasent when i showed up earl and want to check in. she said i needed to come back when somebody else was there to work the computer and it was the same person wifi was really choppy, it dropp every hour like the router was reseting. had to unplug some lamps becasue not enought outlets. cant take a bath, notthing to heat hotwater for tea. tv was not very good.
- Arturo (2/5): - Worst place I have ever stayed.
- Linda (10/5): - Communication was difficult at first.
- Brandon (10/5): So delightful was my stay I Can'T wait to visit again beeaye of Mandeep the owner. Thank you so much for accomodatin - The owner of the hotel was most accommodating for me and was helpful from the very start of my arrival to the property. We were able to get along and Stu made the entire stay worth every penny because she listened to my story and provided above and beyond any hotel I've stayed at in the Pullman area at nearly half the cost, l recommend this motel above all others because of the owner's hospitality.
- Thomas (8/5): - Good
- Mike (6/5): - Not much special but there was a nice breakfast restaurant right next door.
- Verified traveler (6/5): U of I Parent Weekend trip - Says they are pet-friendly, more like pet-tolerant. Be sure to read what you're signing when checking in, there is a spot about no pets, when I said site says pet friendly, I got we don't like all the hair and the mess. Says $20 pet fee on site, got charged $40. Arrived early, got my key and left for game. Came back about 10, got in room, forgot something in car, couldn't get door back open, had to get help, she said you have to pull on the door, turn the key and then it will open. Have to shut door hard to get it to stay shut. Door needs fixed if that is the case everytime. Parking lot is small, so if you have a big rig, be prepared. Thin walls, next door had TV up loud and could hear through the walls. Bed was comfy enough, I was there for UI parent weekend, so checked in, left, came back, slept, got up and left early next morning.
- Andrea (2/5): - The room seemed unsanitary and it smelled. Old floral bedspreads when the online photo at the time of booking showed an updated, nice looking room. The booking even stated “newly remodeled.” Very deceptive. They did not even have conditioner, lotion, or a soap dish for the bar of soap. No coffee pot, and door would not shut properly.
- Fred (6/5): - Large spider on bed upon entry. Uncomfortable bed and pillows. Decent location
- Nghia (8/5): - Good
- Janaka (2/5): - Terrible property, lousy management, a dump!
- Stephen (7/5): Good -
- thomas (2/5): Don’t do it. - This is one of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed at. Hotel workers/owners are from India, which is obviously fine. But their approach to business and honesty is a bit different. Quoted me $25 as a pet fee to my face at check-in, and then proceeded to charge my card for $43. The place is disheveled and gross. Avoid at all costs.
- Lee (5/5): Passable -
- Morrical (8/5): Very good -
- Janaka (4/5): - I have given this poor rating to help consumers understand that the managing staff have extreme limitations and training. I prepaid for my stay, and yet the staff verbally abused me and made outlandish accusations based on something from her past. What a shock of mistaken identity and her past experiences! I am a long time EXPEDIA senior member. Nothing like what I experienced has ever happened to me previously. I booked this motel because it was 1 mile close to my wife's family and we were here for an unfortunate family situation. Expedia members and consumers-- take my advice and steer clear of this property. Even though Pullman is a University city, with many University events that attracts folks, please take my advice and be cautious and aware of this property.
- Jeff (8/5): - There was NO television service or internet functioning. Awaiting repair!
- William (6/5): - Staff was helpful, but property was aged and dusty. Quiet considering on main drag.
- Hassan (4/5): Disappointing -
- Caroline (8/5): Great reasonable WSU Welcome Week room - The hotel was perfectly adequate - a good price and convenient location for moving our first-year WSU student into his dorm room.
- Hung (8/5): - The Inn keeper was nice.
However, the place is VERY DATED. I know I OVERPAID bc it was a last minute booking.
There was NO EV Charger.
- Melissa (4/5): - Towels in the bathroom had stains on them. Bugs on the floor. Smelled like someone had smoked in the room.
- Ann (4/5): - It is sad and dimly lit, with a lot of noise from other guests. It doesn’t seem to have been remodeled since the 1980’s.
- Nikk (1/5): Smelly, rude, gross, illegal af - She tried to charge an additional 30$ a night for my service dog, when I offered to drop him off at a local daycare she said she “didn’t believe I was actually gonna leave” saying that the dog was gonna cause damage and smell despite it smelling like rotten curry and feces in the entrance room. The smell, the attitude, the fact she was trying to scam another 30$ a night out of me, the fact she actively broke state law by refusing my service dog after demanding 30 extra a night.
- Nahorniak (1/5): Horrible and I want my money back. We left after one night - Terrible manager dirty bug filled room door would not unlock every time! And electrical cord shocked me Same
- Aziah (3/5): pretty bad - there was no food bugs, not cleaned properly, peices of hair everywhere
- Everett (10/5): - The old pool filled in with concrete is funny. Also makes sense. Keeps the prices down. Half the TV channels didnt work. Awesome wifi/internet service. Easily in the top 3 of the cleanest room ive ever seen. Definitely would go back without pause.
- NOAH (8/5): - Tv cable was not working
- Morrical (7/5): Good -
- Jeffrey (2/5): - They have no tv's its super sketchy
- Bailey (7/5): Good -
- Marsha (6/5): - This property is extremely basic, old and outdated. It had aeveral construction workers there that left early in the morning. They did not try to be quiet either. The rooms were dingy looking but clean. Beds were comfortable. I wouldnt stay there again if i had a choice. We stayed this time because we couldnt find anything else. It was definitely not worth $140.00 a night!!!
- Rafael (2/5): - Staff was rude
- Rob (8/5): - I killed 2 spiders in my room.
- milenka (8/5): - very friendly and clean, we'll definitely stay again.
- Elizabeth (4/5): - Noisy, inside and out. It sounded like someone was herding cattle in the room above me, and I could hear every time they used the bathroom. Activity in the parking lot all hours of the night. Would not stay there again.
- Albert (5/5): Passable -
- Octavia Stevens-A (10/5): Great night sleep - Room was clean and spacious. Clerk at counter when I checked in and left very friendly. Will return again.
- Jeff (5/5): The Wi-Fi connection method and password were in the guide, but it was inconvenient because it didn’ - The Wi-Fi connection method and password were in the guide, but it was inconvenient because it didn’t connect at all.
- Roy (7/5): Good -
- John (10/5): - Close to many restaurants and very clean and tidy.
- Michelle (2/5): - I didnt! Staffwas rude to me and my room set my and my baby grand daughters respritoey system off due to it smells like long time smoking in room
- Klaas (8/5): - Clean and simple. Nothing fancy.
- Jolie (6/5): Pleasant -
- Kristi (6/5): - Too expensive for the condition of the property
- Sarah (2/5): - There was a spider in the bed, some weird tape covering the smoke alarm, and what appeared to be semen sprayed on a picture on the wall. The blanket on the bed had holes in it like it had been burned. I think I would prefer sleeping in a tent.
- Allan (8/5): - I have stayed at quite a number of motels in CA, NV, ID, OR, and WA; the rating on this motel was well below ratings I have seen for other motels with no more and often, less quality rooms.
- Joan (4/5): - Location was great. The hospitality was not so great. I felt like I was an inconvenience the staff. There was no complimentary coffee offered in the rooms or lobby. The lobby doors were locked during business hours, making it difficult to to talk to the staff to ask questions. The ice machine was out of service and had to buy ice from the convenience store across the street. There were no electrical outlets near the bed making it difficult to charge electronics devices. It really sad to see such a great place lacking good old American hospitality.
- Rebecca (6/5): - Pro- parking areas well lit and clean, quiet stay, some double rooms if you have extended family or a group traveling
Could improve- a little more attention to room cleaning, some updating would be nice in the temperature control area, replacing chipped countertops and less furniture in the room
If you can handle low budget youth hostel or are on a budget this is perfect!
