• Lauren (10/5): - Fun place to stay—it’s exactly what it sounds like: cabins on a small boat, so these are not the most spacious rooms, but it is an enjoyable stay regardless. It is very close to the train station, walkable from the hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful (and funny!) I would absolutely stay here again the next time I come to Stockholm.

• Marcin (8/5): - A historic boat run part a cafe, hostel, no-strings hotel. Some things come with that territory. The location is absolutely stunning. From the small open deck or the dining area … scenic vistas of central Stockholm to savor. The “street level” of “main” (red) boat is expertly decorated in a nautical theme. You can imagine yourself on a classic sailing vessel. The lower level of the same boat, much more utilitarian. Down still lovingly decorated stairs, a narrow corridor with bunk rooms on both sides and WCs at the end. Those showers/toilets are shared by the whole boat … and often occupied, especially at breakfast and bedtime. Hard to tell when locked so you keep getting interrupted by people jiggling the handle. The rooms … are basic. Below the water line, so the windows are small recessed slits. You can peak or shove a camera in there, but otherwise a narrow vision over water or at the quay. (I think the rooms on the other boat have the better views.) As basic it is, my room had a convenient bench on the water-side, a comfortable bunk with lots of storage underneath, a table and a fragile stool. A pleasant surprise were the plentiful outlets – six by my count. Breakfast was a good if standard. Staff was helpful. One thing to be aware of, despite transit maps showing Line 405 stopping nearby, and nice bus stops, it isn’t running now perhaps due to the Slussen rebuild, and staff knew nothing about it. To reach transit is a long walk to Slussen, hard w/ bags, and stairs.
• Moira (8/5): - Our room was small but they do offer luggage storage if you want to unpack more, and have more room. Beds were comfortable. Bit more noise from being on sidewalk side. Shared bathrooms were always available. Staff were super helpful and friendly. Breakfast was really nice and worth paying for. Would stay again but would pay for one of the rooms with private bathroom as someone who has to go early in the morning! 😉
• Thomas (6/5): - Staff is great and boat is funky, but it’s a boat: tight quarters, stuffy air, and, yes, it rocks a lot. If you’re prone to seasickness (like me) I do not recommend. If not, it’s fun for a couple of nights…no more.
• Ryan (10/5): - I stayed in the admiral cabin which is the biggest room on the boat. The red boat featured on the booking is not the actual boat we stayed on, the cabin in located on a white boat next to the red boat. The cabin has amazing views and I liked it had its own shower and toilet. I slept really well in the twin (pushed together into a double) bed. The cabin has a tv, large wardrobe and coffee making facilities. Over all, I really enjoyed my one night stay here. Their could be noise issue if the cabins above were occupied by noisy guests as the cabin isn’t soundproof and people moving around the boat can be heard throughout the cabin.

Breakfast at the boat is reasonable price. The Thai restaurant on a boat next door is convenient and their food is so good. My one and only complaint was the smell in one of our rooms. We rented two rooms.

• Kattie (10/5): - This place is such a gem! The location is great. It’s an easy and quick walk to Gamla Stan. The rooms are very cozy; I loved listening to the rain on the water. We shared a shower/bathroom with others on our floor and it was clean, no issues there. Breakfast is worth the price and the dinner options are yummy. We also had a great time talking to the front desk staff each night. They were very sociable!
• Paul (8/5): Rustic Maritime Accommodations - I booked a cabin on The Red Boat for a week stay in Sweden and used it as a home base while touring the country. It was perfect for this purpose. It is within a short walk to Gamla Stan Metro stop as well as a short walk to other attractions. The best way to describe this lodging experience is Maritime Rustic Hostel. It is not posh or fancy, but provides basic accommodations with helpful staff. The cabin, bathroom, showers and common areas were clean and warm (stay was in November). I would stay at The Red Boat again. If you plan to book here, have realistic expectations and you will be satisfied.
• David (6/5): Layout needs some changes. - We were allocated a room on the boat next door to the red boat. Good points:- Cheap Not to far from public transport Negative points:- No additional facilites like common space if you are not on the red boat itself Only 2 toilets, which were up staris, so they layout was not great. The showers were very small, better use could have been made of the space. Overall the stay was ok, but the layout needs some changes to make it more comfortable.

• Nicole (4/5): - We thought it was going to be a unique experience - you know staying on a boat. It was cool at first, but everyone shares a bathroom. We went to go use the toilet and someone had peed all over the floor and toilet seat. It was so noisy, there was drunk people talking at all hours of the night and screaming and laughing in the hall. We couldn't call the night security cause our phones where on airplane mode and we didnt want to be charged. Basically got no sleep, but I guess you get what you pay for.
• Ioannis (10/5): Cozy boat experience - This boat hotel has a lovely vintage style from the moment you walk in with it's beautiful wooden interior and wonderful decor. The room was cozy, clean and warm, and although we slept on a bunk bed it was surprisingly very comfortable. In terms of the location, it is perfectly situated in the center of Stockholm city with close walk to coffee shops and main attractions. The only small disadvantage is having to share toilets and bathrooms, which you would expect from a small boat, but otherwise the stay was very comfortable and we barely felt the boat rocking as the waters were very calm. Staff were very friendly too and we got along with them, so overall it was a great stay!
• Mark (10/5): - The room is a very simple crew cabin in an actual old timey fishing type boat ( think "Deadliest Catch" or "The Perfect Storm", parked right on corner of Riddarfjarden Bay, perfectly located between Galma Stan ( Old Town, historical tourist area, tour boat docks ), and Sodermalm ( hip, young area with restaurants, night life, shopping ). Insane view of Stockholm from the any of the decks, at any time, day or night.

It is difficult to access rooms for those with limited mobility due to the ramp up to the boat with rooms and then the narrow spiral staircase down to the rooms. So can be difficult to manage with suitcases vs backpacks.
• Fred (8/5): - The property is a boat, and that is unique and cool. I had a room with a private bath and shower wich were small but fine. The negative is the location of the boat. There is a very busy street/highway in front of the property and it's not easy to walk to attractions.

• bobbie (6/5): - The boat was clean and cool however i wouldnt really recomend because its very hard to get to (hills and steep stairs ) no public transport other than very expensive taxi to even get to the bus stop (20 canadian ) maybe it would be different in summer when you didnt have to drag a suitcse in sjow and ice on a steep hill. The boat you stay on is one behind the main one, it has a very narrow and steep wodden platform with just ropes to keep you from potentially falling or dropping your bag in the water. U have to stand on it to put the code in the door so its not like u just quickly pass by it. The main boat has a great ramp eith proper railing. Very cute but i csnt recomend this unless you dont have a lot of stuff with you and ate compleatly able boddied.
• Benjamin (4/5): - My partner and I stayed at this property for 3 nights. Upon arrival, everything seemed okay, but we were told that we would be on the boat behind. Not an issue. We were also told that breakfast was 99 SEK per person, per day, and decided to buy breakfast passes for us both for the days that we would be there. When we got to our room, we noticed it was small - two single beds, and not really any space for belongings (there were a few hooks, and some space under the bed). There were shared toilets and showers upstairs, again, small but okay. After the first night, we noticed that the room was wet. The ceiling was wet, the floor, and I believe it was condensation. The windows (portholes) did open, but it is November, and it was freezing. There was no ventilation for the condensation, so the floors, walls and ceiling were wet. Not a great start. We went down for breakfast (on the other boat), and this was absolutely fine. A selection of bread, meats, cheese, vegetables, fruit, yoghurt, etc. Plenty of choice for all. The walls for the rooms are paper thin. You will hear everything, and people will come home drunk at 4am and wake you up. There is no staff to police this, so good luck. Because of the noise, damp and condensation, my partner and I are leaving Stockholm tired and ill. I would not recommend staying here at all. Find somewhere cheaper

• Amber (8/5): - The Red Boat is a very unique place to stay in Stockholm, but it is not fancy or comfortable. It is an easy walk to Gamla Stan and the metro. The rooms are very small and basic, the bathrooms and showers are also very basic - more like a hostel than a hotel. We loved the breakfast option, with yummy food and a charming dining room setting. The staff was kind and helpful. We would not stay here again, it was pretty expensive for what you get.

The breakfast (10 USD per person) was good. The place is 10 min walk from the closest metro station, and walkable (15 mins) to old town and the view around the boat is amazing. Lot of dining options close by

• Verified traveler (10/5): - I absolutely loved this property. The boat was quite solid, little to no rocking even when it was extremely windy out. The room was super cozy, and everything worked great (especially great water pressure, and radiator in the bathroom was fantastic for the cold weather on the lake). The staff was wonderful, and the location is fantastic for getting around Stockholm with ease. I would caution anyone with knee issues to be aware that the steps leading to the upper deck are quite steep, but that's the only negative I can say. Jag alskar Röd Båten!

• Verified traveler (8/5): - Hotel is cool and clean and this is a good base for sightseeing but wouldnt want to spend time just hanging out here. Quite noisy as you are close to all other rooms. The toilet and shower are in one room which isnt a great set up for shared facilities. There is no housekeeping on a daily basis. Breakfast is good and an option at 80SEK if booked the day before or 90SEK on the day. Overall a decent place to stay.

• ÇAĞDAŞ (10/5): Perfect choice for backpackers. - A hidden economical paradise in stockholm. Enough comfort, acceptable-wide rooms, clean (than I expect) shared toilets.
• Pamela (10/5): Fabulous stay on the Red Boat! - Fun place to stay! Atmospheric with beautiful decor in the common areas. Walking distance to the Gamla Stan (old city). We had a room with ensuite, and it was very comfortable with views overlooking the city. It is an old boat, but it doesn't rock much, almost unnoticeable for those concerned. Great place! We would definitely come back!

The boat is located on a busy street and not near a subway station. You definitely have to take a taxi to get there if you don't want to walk a long distance with your luggage. Reception was very friendly and helpful. If you are looking for a place to rest your head for a night, then maybe this place might do the trick.

Knowing this it is a small and damp space and not great if you have lots of luggage, but still manageable. Place was clean and functional. One of the showers had a broken hose that sprayed everywhere but there were several bathrooms so worked out fine. Beds were comfortable

• Ilmari (4/5): Moisture and bed bug problems - Could be nice place, but the room where we stayed had some serious problems as there smelled really really bad (as the whole lower level), and there must be a problem with the moisture. Guy at the reception apologied but wasn't able to do anything, no discount, no room change, no nothing. Also found bed bugs from the shower room. Never going there again.

But since I never been to a hostel, I was not prepared that you got to share shower and toilet with other guests. The worst experience was that there’s no towels. You got to bring your own. I discovered it late in the evening. It feels uncomfortable...there’s one womens shower room and there’s no lock... anyone can come in to go to the toilet and wash hands while you shower .... your only protection is just a shower curtain. Good interior design up in the reception/breakfast area. Walking distance to shops and restaurants.

• Verified traveler (4/5): - Very small room. Clean but always had a horrible smell like sewage perhaps from the water outside. There was a couple of dead rats floating in the water along with some other horrible debris at the side of the boat. It would have been good to be able to make a cup of tea or coffee at least but there was no facility for that on the boat. We were staying on the white boat next to the red boat. There was no sitting area, only on the red boat. No alcohol or food allowed and no glasses to even have some water. Not the hostel experience we're used to. Disappointing. Cannot fault the staff though.

I slept very well in the comfortable bed and enjoyed the gentle rocking of the boat. I received a free breakfast with my room. The location is perfect for exploring the beautiful city of Stockholm. The ambiance of the boat is warm and comfortable.

• Henry (10/5): - The location of the property was amazing. Could walk anywhere in Stockholm from there. The facilities were good, and the staff was awesome.
• Paul (2/5): - There’s BED BUGS my bites are getting worse. Hopefully, it’s not come with my luggage to my house.
• Mark (4/5): - Room was MUCH smaller than photos. TV did NOT work at ALL. Spoke to 2 different receptionists..both said they would fix. NEITHER attempted to fix. VERY DISAPPOINTED. Breakfast OK..nothing special! VERY difficult to get to the room up a VERY narrow flight of stairs carrying luggage with NO assistance from receptionist. WOULD NOT GO BACK AGAIN or recommend!!!
• Metin (8/5): It's where I always stay - I like this place alot it's so central clean beds and restroom walking distance from to many places and friendly staff it's a place I've been staying for a while and will continue.

• Sarah (8/5): Unique Experience - Getting rocked to sleep by the waves.. The boat was very cozy. Furnishing and decor maritime-styled. Boat is located close to Gamla Stan/Slussen/Mariatorget subway which is great. Got to stay in a room with bedbugs. Got bitten half to death. The staff were pretty serious about it though, and we got compensated for it. Still got scars all over my body, but over all, the staff compensating us made it worth our while.
• Mel (8/5): The Red Boat - Very nice stay. Communal bathroom but there are several. The one nearest me was empty every time I needed it and was always clean. Small cabin but was fine for me. I had a lovely view across the water. The food (in the other boat) was very good. Comprehensive buffet style breakfast, well worth the money. Evening meals cooked as you order them. Limited menu but each dish made to a very high standard. I would thoroughly recommend staying here.
• Verified traveler (4/5): Average - we arrived at the red boat and was shocked by how small it was but the staff were very welcoming and helpful! Our stay was really nice however the second day our room was unbearably hot as the room next door seemed to have heat pumping into it (possibly fumigated) making our room unbearable. The staff were so helpful as the man opened our window and gave us a fan to try to help cool the room down.The rooms were tiny but what can you expect from a boat? Shared bathroom was ok however kept having to press to keep the shower on but again may be the only way as it’s a tiny boat. Great location as it’s so close to Gamla Stan so got all of our sightseeing done and didn’t need to travel far! Overall a nice stay however were anxious after the heat situation and reading other reviews about bed bugs.
• Ronald (10/5): A stay on a boat in Central Stockholm - I stayed for 4 nights on the "Ran", which is the "hotel" boat. The Red Boat is a hostel. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Staff were very helpful, the breakfast had a good amount of variety. The single bedroom was not large but the bed was comfortable. The location was good and gave a gtreat view of a good part of Stockholm waterfront. I paid £102 (without breakfast, which was extra at just over £7) and this was wonderful value in Stockholm.

• adam (10/5): Memorable and unique - Such a novel little hotel on the banks of Stockholm. Check in and out speed was very quick and the amentities although basic were more than enough and it surpassed my expectations in everyday. A simple breakfast was very cost effective for staying in stockholm. The room was very clean and well appointed. This was asuch a memorable place to stay in. The veiws from the cabin portal were fantastic.

• Umit (8/5): - Close to Gamla Stan and Slussen metro/train/bus stations. Quite interesting to stay on a boat. Breakfast is good. Very helpful staff. Room is too narrow and window can't be opened enough. Wi-fi works in the lobby only and it's quite slow.
