- Michael (10/5): - One of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed at - Kinlay just gets so many things right! Dorm beds are comfortable with privacy curtains, light, power socket and USB. Showers are very good, with hooks for hanging items and shower gel provided. And finally a hostel that doesn’t charge or require a deposit for towels - fantastic! There is a large and pleasant communal area, with a pool table and piano. The kitchen is large and has everything you need, plus there are lots of fridges and freezers. Free tea, coffee and some fruit is available 24/7 which is just brilliant, and there are even some free daily afternoon biscuits. The free breakfast is very good. The hostel is very clean throughout with everything well-maintained. WiFi is excellent. Staff are very friendly and super helpful. Note that Kinlay Hostel is operated by the same people as Snoozles Hostel, which is also superb. I strongly recommend both.
- Leah (10/5): - I had a great stay at the Kinlay! Staff were friendly, the hostel was clean, great kitchen facilities and lots of opportunities to socialize with others if that is what you are looking for.
- Manoel Paz e Silva (4/5): - Great loccation, close to pubs and the Latin Quarter, the hotspot for a night in Galway. However, breakfast wasn't so good, with only a few options. Also, cleaning service of the room was not automatic, I guess you had to ask for it? So all in all, it's a good hostel, but a bit expensive for what it offers.

- Charlotte (10/5): Great staff and accommodation - Arrived early and was able to leave luggage in the secure room. The lovely lady at reception helped me find all the best spots and gave her personal recommendations for the city. The hostel was mostly clean, apart from the showers which I think was more down the to guests rather than them. There were great facilities and a nice communal area. Bedrooms were comfortable with a privacy curtain on each bit, always a huge plus in a hostel! Each bed had its own light and plug/usb socket to charge overnight. Basic breakfast provided the next morning. Definitely would stay again

- Lezlie (10/5): Wonderful hostel - Awesome hostel. More of a hotel than a hostel. We had a private room for 4. The rooms were clean, smelled fresh, the beds were on the firm side and comfortable for us, the pillows weren't flat but nice and comfy. Everything smelled and looked new. The breakfast had a lot of variety and very good. Parking is a block away and not free but discounted.

- Dennis (8/5): Decent hostel but still a hostel - The staff are very helpful and kind. There's a luggage room you can use too although be warned: you may need to play Tetris squeezing yours in. There were a ton of luggages in place. But the room itself was serviceable, but highly dependent on who you get as per usual hostel rules. Not great procedures if you're trying to avoid getting sick. I wore a mask to sleep once I heard 2 people coughing and I only had the curtain to shield myself. Breakfast options were fine. You get a good enough option to be happy to go about your way.

Another great thing was the Kinlay Pub Crawl, would definitely recommend participating – met a lot of great fellow travellers and had a great great time!

- Sinead (10/5): - Great stay! Solo female traveller and I stayed in an all girls room. Room was clean, a little stuffy, but great experience. They also do a pub crawl with the other hostels and it’s a great way to meet people if you are travelling alone. I would definitely book again. Staff was great and breakfast had tons of options.

PEOPLE ALSO WANT TO EAT AT OTHER TIMES OTHER THAN BREAKFAST. AND WE'RE STILL PAYING YE TO BE HERE FOR A FULL STAY, YET WE DON'T HAVE FULL USE OF THE SERVICES. IT'S NOT GOOD ENOUGH. YE SHOULD BE OBLIGED TO TAKE A THIRD OFF THE COST IF YE DON'T LET US USE THE FULL FACILITIES IN-SITU. IT'S UN-ACCEPTABLE, WE ARE PAYING FOR THE TIME WE ARE HERE.
- Kimberly (8/5): Two random ladies came into our room - This hostel is very clean and comfortable. It lost a star due to the breakfast. It consisted of bread, a raisin scone, cold cereal and instant coffee. The second morning we went down the street to a coffee shop. The other issue was when the front desk assigned our room to two ladies who walked in using their key as we were sitting in our room. I mentioned it to the front desk and the guy laughed and said, “my bad. I accidentally gave them a key to 221 instead of 222.” A little concerning, if we hadn’t been there to stop them. Other than that the room was pleasant. The location is EXCELLENT!!! Literally in the middle of everything! We walked out of the hostel and caught our bus for our Galway Tour bus.

It was also very quiet. The breakfast is good with plenty of variety. The staff were all amazing! All so friendly, helpful, knowledgeable about the area, and always ready to answer any questions. I had a great experience there!

Clean room, friendly staff, terrific breakfast...Staying in a hostel may be an ordeal in most cases, but staying at Kinlay was an enjoyment even in a shared dorm! Each dorm room has its own sink and shower room with toilet, even though the hallway has separate toilets and shower rooms as well, so I never had to wait to use the toilet or the shower. Each bed also has its own privacy curtain, reading lights, and power outlet, so you are like living in your own pod! If you are in the Galway area, I highly recommend choosing this hostel! Not only it's a terrific place to lay your head, its city centre location by the train and the bus stations makes this hostel a great base to explore Galway and the areas around! *Padlock is available for rent with a refundable deposit, and towel is available for rent for 1 EUR. You may need to bring your own toiletries.

- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hostel - The hostel was nice and clean. The bathrooms were a bit old but nevertheless clean and useful. Only problem I encountered was one of the guys living there. He was literally living there and was a bit strange; he was in the room ALL THE TIME , but that's not the hostel's problem anyway.

- Carl (10/5): Why pay for a hotel - If all you want is a place to stay that's comfortable and convenient, this hostel fills every need. It's unbelievably convenient--around the corner from the train station and major bus stops and more or less in the old section of Galway. It's clean and well run and pleasant. The staff is friendly and very helpful. So why pay three or four times as much for a downscale hotel room?

- PC (10/5): Great Location - I wasn't sure how I would handle the shared room thing but the Kinlay made it easy. The culture is great and the other guests are very respectful of others privacy, and sleeping hours. The hostel is well run and very efficient. The staff are incredibly helpful and made the experience really enjoyable. It is an older building but well maintained and very functional. I was very happy staying there. The rates are very reasonable. Highly recommend it. The location is very close to all the action in Galway city.
- valerie (8/5): convenient - This was a convenient spot in galway and the staff was super friendly. Met some lovely people staying in the room. Spent more time exploring than in the venue. Nice to have computers and public space but that space seemed to be occupied fully most of the time I passed thru. I didnt realize that children under the age of 5 were allowed in hostels and another in my room commented that it was a trend. I dont particularly enjoy beig around screaming children who run around without any supervision attempting to play with a pool table they cant even reach. Blame the parents on this more than the kids but it left me disappointed to not be able to participate in the typical communal setting of a hostel. This place also seemed to host a giant group so personally I would attempt to find a place a bit smaller on my next trip. If I had wanted to cook, the kitchen was very crowded and finding a place to sit during breakfast was challenging. Being gluten free a continental breakfast of cereal and toast doesnt cut it so it wasnt that big of a deal - but missed out on lovely morning conversations. I also forget that many places do not have a/c or fans in the room so in the height of summer it is quite miserable to sleep with a window that barely opens. Only an overhead light and really randomly placed flourescents on one side of room not near my bed. Not enough outlets for everyone to charge their devices.
