- Andrew (10/5): good value - old school
- Chapman (6/5): -
- Wendy (10/5): Pretty spot, lovely breakfast in the iconic dining room - Interesting
Historic
Native birds in gardens

- valerie (10/5): Probably one of the most memorable and favourite accommodations of our road trip. - David was a kind and accommodating host, upgrading us to a bigger room when we arrived. The chalet was exceptional accommodation - the art and ceramic collection in itself was amazing. We were offered a “ hearty soup” when we arrived which meant that we didn’t have to go out looking for evening dining, and afterwards sat in the lounge at the fire with other guests enjoying the chat. There was a second lounge which we could have used if we had wanted more privacy.
Breakfast was lovely - self serve but we could have ordered cooked if desired. Our only regret is that we had only booked one night. Nothing
- Anzla (10/5): The highlight of our Blue Mountains excursion, we can’t wait to return! - Both Davids were incredibly hospitable and made our stay unforgettable. The interior decor and artwork make for a timeless ambience and a truly unique experience. We also enjoyed the continental breakfast in the dining hall, not to mention the garden view. If you’re up at the right time, you’ll even see the parrots have breakfast just outside the window, a sight that speaks to the surrounding wildlife.
- Columbus (8/5): Blue Mountain adventures - It was a quiet and comfortable place to stay for 2 nights. The location is close to places of interest. The floor boards are quite squeeking when walking. The bath tub is a little elevated, you need to be careful to avoid slipping.
- Nelson (10/5): Would love to return one day - Lovely position, not too far from Katoomba. The hosts and breakfast were excellent.
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Loved everything. Honestly the David's were amazing we could not of felt more welcome and cared for. Nothing it was all amazing
- Anurag (10/5): A wonderful place to stay in the Blue Mountains - The Chalet is conveniently located in Medlow Bath, so just a short drive to both Katoomba or Blackheath. Our standard Queen room was clean, comfortable and a good size. Breakfast is basic but adequate. The owner of the property David, was very welcoming and helpful which made our stay all the more pleasant. Would recommend to anyone visiting the Blue Mountains. The room that we stayed in had a shower in a bathtub. Would have preferred a standalone shower as it can be tricky getting in and out of the high bathtub.
- Miran (10/5): Promise for return - My husband and I enjoyed the friendly welcome, old style charm with a plenty of paintings and ornaments.
Room was nicely presented, warm and clean. The breakfast was simple but was more than enough. Davids were caring and professional. None
- Dinusha (10/5): - David and the team were extremely friendly and accommodating, always ready to help when needed. The accommodation was spotless and very well looked after, which made our stay even more comfortable. Thank you for the warm hospitality Nothing
- Colin (10/5): 10/10 quaint place - Absolutely amazing experience. Haven’t stayed in a place like this before. If you’re not travelling with children definitely get one of the adults only rooms, they’re very cute.
- Andrea (10/5): Interesting history about the chalet. Friendly hosts. - Good food options for breakfast.
- Tara (9/5): -
- Lee (10/5): Great - Lovely guesthouse. Would visit again in an instant. Nice location.
- Violetta (10/5): -
- Sylwia (10/5): - An interesting, unique place. The price includes a visit to the art gallery—the collection is incredible—and most importantly, you don't have to go outside. I recommend it. The rest is consistent with the offer and description.
- kelvin (9/5): -
- Madeleine (10/5): -
- MORELLA (10/5): A gem in the woods - The Chalet is a weird and wonderful place, close to the highlights in the Blue Mountains. This old guesthouse has a lot of charm and history. The place is adorned with all sorts of art, and the birds are attracted to eat by the window in the morning as you have breakfast. The owner David makes a beautiful cappuccino and scrambled eggs for a little additional price. The included breakfast is quite generous, so you might not need any extras. Great value for money.
- jasmine (10/5): Relaxing & beautiful stay - Would recommend to anyone visiting the Blue Mountains. It’s a beautiful period property, set amongst nature & only a short drive to all of the main viewing areas / walking trails. The breakfast was simple, but delicious & was presented in a beautiful dining area, made even better by the entertainment of birds playing on the window sill. David & David are excellent hosts. Would love to spend longer next time.
- Gaurav (10/5): -
- Aoife (10/5): A lovely stay! - Fantastically welcoming host who provided local knowledge and chatted to everyone at breakfast which was lovely. Rooms were comfortable and the common area had lots of places to relax Some aspects a little outdated (carpets, bathrooms) but also adds to charm of the place
- David J (9/5): -
- Peter (10/5): - The Art was incredible. The original features of the house were delightful. Also enjoyed all the parrots right on the window sill enjoying their seed whilst we enjoyed our breakfast.
- Boot1d (9/5): Une touche de délicatesse - Le lieu entouré de végétation, grands arbres, la maison incroyable, peuplée d’oeuvres d’art, accueil très cordial de notre hôte bienveillant...

- Harrison (10/5): Such a hidden gem to stay at in the mountains. Loved it! - Such a cozy and interesting property. David the host was incredibly kind and went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed, including a very early breakfast. Location is great also as it’s a quick drive to either Katoomba or blackheath.
- ANN (9/5): -
- David (10/5): A lovely stay - A beautiful, quiet, excellent location. Homely and every little detail thought of, hosts were friendly, helpful and considerate. Thanks for a wonderful stay. Nothing
- Tara (10/5): Great atmosphere, very quiet, excellent clawfoot bath, hosts very friendly and accommodating. Beautiful old house and fi - Quiet, comfortable, relaxing. Wonderful atmosphere. Lovey hosts. Nothing.
- Hartmann (10/5): - Very polite people
- Ian and Marg (10/5): Friendly relaxing chalet with exceptional pottery and art -
- Greg (8/5): Comfortable and friendly - Hosts excellent
Character of premises were very much honour liking
- Phil Defliese (9/5): A pleasant two-night stay in a graceful old-world lodging. - The Chalet is a gracious Victorian-era guest house nicely updated with air conditioning and internet/wifi. David is a very welcoming host, thoroughly knowledgeable of the Blue Mountain's many attractions.
Our room was very well equipped and comfortable.
The dining room is elegant and breakfast offerings were plentiful. Medlow Bath is a very sleepy little hamlet just up the road from bustling Katoomba. Most recreational and dining options are elsewhere, but this makes the Chalet a very restful place.
- Geoffrey (10/5): -

- john (10/5): Highly comfortable - Old world in excellent condition Nothing
- Jan Peter (9/5): A charming vintage gem in a great location - Charming heritage decor.
Great location.
Peaceful. Air conditioning on hot days needed
- Rui Marmoto (10/5): A warm, art-filled home with unforgettable touches - This stay really exceeded my expectations. The host clearly takes great care with every detail to keep this B&B running perfectly. The collection of art and historical items throughout the house gives it a truly unique character, and from the moment you arrive you feel warmly welcomed into David’s home.
The atmosphere is amazing – cosy, thoughtful, and full of charm – and the music playing in the background makes it even more special. One of the highlights was watching the beautiful King Parrots being fed right outside the dining room window. It was an unforgettable experience.
A wonderful place that I highly recommend. None!
- David (9/5): Classic - The collection of Art and historical items. Nothing
- yong xin (10/5): It was very clean and comfortable - Breakfast was a very healthy and lot of choice
- Manuel (10/5): Perfect! - The owner is such a nice person! We liked everything about our stay! Nothing! It was amazing!
- Jay Heybatov (10/5): -
- Ralph (7/5): -
- Stephanie (10/5): What a superb bed and breakfast venue. It will live in our memories for a long time as a highlight of our trip down unde - Everything! We were welcomed into David and David’s home and spent three very comfortable and quiet nights there. After walking in the Blue Mountains during the day we were able to relax in the lounge/dining area with a glass of wine, listen to lovely music and admire all the artwork. Everywhere was very clean and well maintained and the breakfast excellent with options for lactose free milk and yoghurt. We would thoroughly recommend the Chalet Guesthouse and Studio as a place to stay in the Blue Mountains. Nothing
- Ian Watson (8/5): - Spatious olde world charm. Welcoming hosts, large lounge, dining room, secluded, woodland setting.
Comfy, quiet room, nice ensuite.
Close to northern Blue Mountains attractions, Black Heath, Mount Victoria, Jamieson Valley.
- Jenny (10/5): - A lovely quiet & beautiful location. I was made welcome & looked after, above & beyond expectations, by David.
- Whitmore (9/5): Excellent stop over in Blue Mountains - Very nice clean and comfortable room. Staff were very friendly and informative Nothing
- Ann Mary (10/5): - The Chalet was a charming house, which had been lovingly restored and delightfully furnished - a mixture of period pieces and more modern artwork. This gave it an amazing atmosphere and a feeling of home from home. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful - we borrowed a book of walks in the Blue Mountains that was invaluable. Breakfast was enhanced by the birds feeding outside the window! We would return!
- THE JOCHUS GIRL (9/5): Very good - Very good
- Joanna (7/5): -
- Adelaide (9/5): Elegant comfort - The guest house was full of fabulous art, the garden was lovely, and the room was immaculately presented. A carefully curated breakfast spread in the dining room, looking out at the birds and garden, was a refined treat.
- Sandy (10/5): - Loved everything about the chalet, great hosts, quiet comfortable room, good breakfast with parakeets along the windowsill.
- Tracey (9/5): We had a lovely time. The hosts couldn’t have been more accommodating and pleasant. Would recommend to anyone looking - Lovely feel and spotlessly clean
- Gerry (5/5): Disappointing - Breakfast was good. Location very good. Shower in old style bath. Very dangerous for we elderly. Should have been offered another room with a walk in shower. Owner didn’t seem to appreciate needs of elderly guests. We are both in our eighties.
- Megan (10/5): We will definitely recommend this little gem to anyone. - Very quiet and relaxing. Clean and comfortable bedding Nothing, everything was exactly as described
- Rosslyn (8/5): Lovely stay - Property is a little sad but the staff were really helpful and I really appreciate their effort to look after us. The property needs a little bit of work.
- Cheri (9/5): I would definitely stay here again, ticked all my boxes. - Quiet, old time elegance, claw bath, separate dining room, artworks, history. Good breakfast. Comfy bed. Nothing
- Diane (10/5): - I stayed two nights at the Chalet Guesthouse. The hosts were friendly and accessible and always on hand, helping us with a takeaway order the night we stayed in. The guest house is such a beautiful creative space with unique furnishings and art work. The dining/living room is comfortable and roomy and looks out through expansive windows onto the garden. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable with a spotlessly clean and bright en-suite. Under floor heating was much appreciated in the evenings before bed and on a cool morning. Breakfast was excellent and on request, the espresso coffee was delicious. I’ll be back!
- Mariane Pereira (10/5): -
- Anna (10/5): Great comfortable place to stay in the mountains. Nice room, great breakfast and lovely host. - The guesthouse was really nice. Room was cosy. The breakfast room very reiminicent of the UK. Guest lounge comfy. Breakfast amazing, lovely selection of food. David was extremely friendly and helpful Nothing
- JOY (10/5): - Personal service. Use of communal spaces all day. Quiet.
- Edward (10/5): David was an excellent and informative host. - Style and old world charm. Quiet and clean.
- Rita (9/5): V good quiet spot. Would return. - Quiet & peaceful. Soft & fluffy bath robes are a nice touch. Friendly hosts. Comfy room. TV room was a bit cold. If that room were warmer, it’d be perfect.

The ambiance was delightful- a warm fire, quality linen and cosy rooms.
A definite return to location.
- Luis (10/5): - This was a lovely stay! Our room was clean and the bathroom was so cute! It had a clawfoot tub! Our host David built us a fire upon our arrival. Breakfast was well presented and yummy as well! We were also able to see the parrots feeding at the dining window! This place me be outside of major city but it is very close to Echo Point. Would definitely recommend!

Comfy Beds, Bathrobes, two wardrobes to hang clothes, Electric Blankets, lights on each side with easy access switch to turn on, large roomy clean bathrooms, tea, coffee, bikkies, a fridge - and the most beautiful antique filled, with artwork all over in the lounge room and Diningroom as well as a fire place in each. Would highly recommend❤️ Nothing
- Christine (8/5): -
- Jawad (10/5): A gem of a place - David and David went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. Additionally, the ambience of the place is very relaxing and an ideal option for a weekend retreat. The family room's washroom drainage needs repair.

- Adam (9/5): Superb - Nice old house, good breakfast, great location. Heating could be better.

- Ernie (9/5): Superb -
- Grant (10/5): Lovely stay wish it could have been longer - Charm, character and cozy. Great hosts
- Trent (10/5): An older gem, very welcoming and tidy stay with a lot of character. - This is an older building but is kept very tidy and is very cozy. David was an excellent host, very accommodating to our needs and providing a general welcoming atmosphere throughout our stay. The included breakfast was a nice standard continental with paid options for hot alternatives. The best part of breakfast was the King Parrots being fed right outside the dining room window (ask the host what time they are fed to catch this). David was also very accommodating in cases of eating an earlier breakfast on the mornings we wanted to get up quite early. The rooms were also older but warm enough during cooler evenings and with a bed comfy enough to rest in after a long day of walking. Good water pressure and plenty of hot water in the shower. The location is a short drive to Katoomba, walks, lookouts and scenic world so this suited us fine. The final cherry on top was the extra Easter goodies gifted to us over our Easter weekend stay. We left very satisfied (in large part to our host, David).
- Martin (10/5): Couldn’t ask for better! A really nice visit - Property was really quaint and interesting. Quiet and peaceful. The 2 Davids were the most pleasant hosts and really made our stay a pleasure. Nothing was a problem and they couldn’t have been more helpful or accommodating. We even got to meet Banjo the chalet guard dog who is a real pet!
- Rameshbabu (10/5): Exceptional -
- Xu (8/5): Very good - Staff are superb The location is a bit far from where we head to. The room is smaller than expectation.
- Karen (9/5): Superb - good hosts, very friendly no drawers in bedroom for clothes
- Isabella (10/5): Exceptional - The owner was so friendly and helpful, and the space was beautifully decorated with an unbelievable collection of paintings, vases and art. Breakfast was a lovely spread as well. Just note that the walls are quite thin.
- Joe (10/5): Exceptional -
