- akemi (6/5): 食事以外は満足 - 景色。浜まで直ぐに行けるロケーション バイキング。連休中だからか2泊共同じ内容で残念でした。電話予約の時には2日目は懐石と言われたけれど、(スタッフが連休を失念したのかもしれません)バイキングも料理数が少なく、提供が間に合わず、直ぐになくなり待たされることがかなりあった。出遅れたらデザートのアイスも無くなり補充されずやや不満足。しゃぶしゃぶのお肉の質は良かったが直ぐに無くなっていた。

The rest of the hotel was a bit faded and dated but the room made up for and short falls there. No loungers by the pool. Not enough choice for food ifupu didn't want the full buffet.

Both worked so hard to help and guide us. The Onsen were very good, tidy and well organised. Plenty of information about the hotel but always someone to ask, staff were all very polite. Breakfast was amazing, so much to choose from both Japanese and Western style. Evening meal in the great hall was enjoyable and an interesting experience. Would recommend you try it. Some parts of the hotel clearly needed some decoration and areas appeared to be no longer in use eg the pool, unclear if it was out of season or just not in use.

- Sophie (9/5): A gorgeous stay in a sleepy seaside town. - The view was absolutely gorgeous, and the staff were so lovely and kind. They really tried to make our stay as good as possible, I will come again and will recommend to my friends. It’s in a beautiful spot but it is a taxi ride away from the station. Luckily the taxis are not expensive, and the hotel has a shuttle bus in the morning if you need it.

- Ruka (10/5): ビューホテル、ありがとう。 - 部屋からの景色は、言葉を失うほど美しく、感謝の一言です。質問や不明な点は、スタッフの方が敏速に対応してくださいました。 一つだけ改善していただきたいのは、朝食の時、ソルト＆ペッパーがないことです。ソーセージや卵にペッパーをかけたかったのに、スタッフの方に聞いてもないということでした。スクランブルエッグが、水っぽいのもちょっといただけないと思いました。 温泉をとても楽しめました。 ありがとうございました。

Huge bug was on the baseboard and I was paranoid for the 2 nights stay since we were sleeping on the tatami. The public onsen were dirty. I could see black deposits sitting at the corner of the onsen in both indoor and outdoors. Whole building looks dated and overpriced with no meal provided. Even bottled water priced at 200 yen.

- Adit (9/5): Superb - We had a great stay at Shimoda View Hotel. My partner is vegan, and the chef kindly arranged full vegan dinners for her on both nights we stayed there. Not many other places were willing to do this. Also the quality and care put into the food was greatly appreciated! My partner felt very well catered to. The staff were all very friendly as well, especially Kaori and Devi who went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. The room itself was excellent. It was very spacious, with a private open air bath overlooking the ocean. Well worth the stay here - hope to come back someday!

The bar was perfect too, very nice bartender The room was dirty, spider web on the ceiling, and water spots, walls have mold , we understand coz it’s an hotel , but we needed to call the front desk because duvet had a blood markings in the middle . And the old guy staff two of them one in the front dest not so cheerful ,not welcoming , the duvet guy was also had a bad attitude, like it was the linen guys fault .

Rotten walls and ceilings, dead and living insects in the floors, a moldy smell everywhere, staff who fitting their trousers in front of guests, just fish-containing breakfast, dirty pool area, rusty stairs and just one English speaking person - we are not the first guests who complain the lack of a proper level.

- Erika (9/5): Superb - The room is really spacious, the view was wonderful, we were on the 9th floor and we could see the whole beach and some of the islands too. The breakfast and dinner was really good as well, I recommend getting both as there are no other restaurants in walking distance. We could park out car without reservation, and the beach was a few minutes of (slopy) walk away. There were insects in the outdoor onsen, but given that we were there in summer this is unavoidable.

- A.d． (7/5): Thank you SVH. We enjoyed our stay despite a misunderstanding of the original reservation - We were given a spacious room with a private outdoor Hinoki wooden bath. The evening meal in the banquet room was exceptional and very delicious. They staff and manager did great job in rectifying the original reservation mistake/error. Thank you! (1) I originally booked suite with an outside bath online. HOWEVER, When booking.com offered me to UPGRADE my reservation, I was under the impression it meant having dinner served in the room. Both Booking.com and the property staff did not let me know well in advance that UPGRADED status means a room on the top floor WITHOUT an outdoor private bath. (It clearly did not fell like an upgrade). I upgraded my reservation 2 months in advance and NO correction/ information was given to me during that time. We arrived at the hotel extremely confused and disappointed. HOWEVER, after meeting with the staff and manager to discuss the misunderstanding, the staff and manager rectified the mistake. (2) I also reserved a shuttle van to have us brought to the hotel from the station on the day of our check-in. The hotel staff I was in communication with confirmed it with me in my initial confirmation. HOWEVER, on the day of our arrival NO shuttle van was present at the station, as originally promised. We had to call the property to ask them to come get us. (3) The air in the suite room was hot and dry; Please provide humidifiers in the room.

The room was comfortable, and the hotel was in good order. Loved the path down to beach available to guests as well as the observation deck near the pool area. The breakfast was really tasty as well. The room was slightly tired, The In-room onsen was very very hot. As long as you add some cold water (provided) it's OK after that.

- HAYABUSA (10/5): - 下田、外浦海岸の絶景が見渡せるロケーション。 温泉は日替わりで男湯女湯入れ替わりますが、どちらも露天風呂があり、眺めも良いです。

- 下田常連 (4/5): - 値段の割には部屋が狭いのと、スタッフの方の対応が悪いわけではないんですが、毎回布団の並べ方が違ったり、なんでそうする？といった部分が多かったです。 大浴場にもタオルがなく、自分の部屋のを持って行くので、それを海やプールで使うと当然足りなくなるわけで、追加をフロントに依頼したら、ちょっと嫌な顔をされました。 ちょっとした問題がいくつもある気がします。 再訪はしないですね。
- Jintaro (10/5): 下田ならここがいいと思います。 - ホテルの設備はさすがに古いですが、ロケーションは素晴らしく、大浴場、露天風呂ともに、とても気持ちの良いホテルです。 食事は部屋出しではありませんが、十分なスペースのある大広間で、ゆったりとおいしい海の幸をいただけます。 サービスもとてもよく、気持ちよくくつろぐことができます。 部屋から眺める外浦海岸、大島、豊島、新島、三宅島も絶景。 泊まって損のないホテルです。

- Wing Yin (10/5): 酒店露台外望，一望無際的海洋，令人喜出望乌外 - 酒店在山上，確实是休聞的住處。但由放位置偏僻比較適合自駕遊，因為要到下田市區，大約也要十五分車程。但基本設備是不錯的。但整潔適較為差一点。但整體來說都是可以的。最令人滿意的是每個房間都是向海的，擁有無敵大海景。
- Verified traveler (8/5): おおむね快適でした。 - 客室からの眺望が、素晴らしく静かで癒されました。 寝具(布団)に少し改良の余地ある??敷布団が固く掛布団は重く感じる。
- Kacey (6/5): - The view is what's keeping this hotel going. It has no food on the property, no coffee in the room, just the tea (which is ok tea but nothing to start your morning with). It's very far from town and requires a $15 cab ride or 40 minute walk to get in - which would be ok if the place had somewhere to eat or was near other restaurants. But it does not other than a ramen restaurant that is open for 3 hours in the evening. SO plan ahead. Unfortunately my stay here was less than restful as the front desk called me about 8 times between check in and check out. Staff was very nice but it was frustrating to be bothered so much and have to run in and out from the balcony just to answer the phone about things that were irrelevant. Also, the futons are very thin. BUT the view. Wow is the view worth all of it. In sum: bring food with you, don't plan on going into town or plan ahead on your transportation costs ($30+ each day to get back and forth), and enjoy the view.
- たっくん (8/5): 丘の上に建つホテル - 比較的若い従業員さんが多いように感じらた。部屋は１０畳サイズとプラス６畳サイズにベットが２台でトイレ、洗面、UBが備え付けられていた。とても快適だった。ホテルに入る前にコンビニでビールとおつまみを買って正解でした。なぜなら山の上にあり、廻りは何もなし。ホテルんお売店はお土産併設で子供や大人が好む様な品物はなく、自販機が売店。ビールも部屋の冷蔵庫しかなく、だいぶ割高でした。大浴場は綺麗で広く、良かったです。
- CHING HO (10/5): 很想再度蒞臨的溫泉飯店. - 1.面對海景的房間,景色一級棒! 2.有接駁車到火車站,非常方便. 3.晚餐,早餐料理很豐富很新鮮. 4.有很棒的公共溫泉澡堂. 5.服務人員親切有禮,清潔衛生.
- Yngve (10/5): Fenomenalt - Hotellet låg fint ett par km utanför Shimoda med fantastisk utsikt över havet. Servicen var fenomenal och maten likaså. Hade en mycket fin helg.
