- Marlene Johanna (9/5): We loved staying here and it was perfect to explore the town and its baths - The room was very spacious we even had a separate bedroom that we only used for our luggage because we preferred sleeping on foutons in the tatami room. The service was super nice and the food included was a whole experience in itself. Nothing really
- Sebastian (10/5): - Fantastic helpful staff
- Stephan (9/5): -
- Une (7/5): -
- Renske (10/5): Highly recommend - A great location right in the centre of the village. The onsen pass was provided for the entire duration of our stay and covered all 7 Onsens. Yakata was provided in our rooms (you can go to reception & ask for different colours aswell) and geta are waiting at reception for you to explore town. They make up your bed and take it down the next day whilst you are out. Everything was amazing. Found the sleeping mat quite hard but it is to be expected staying at a traditional Ryokan.
- Valeriya (10/5): - Уютно , красиво
- Thomas Klemens (9/5): Entspannung Pur. - Sehr nette Gastgeber.
- Matteo (10/5): - I wanted to experience a real Japanese ryokan, and that's exactly what I got, from the room service to the onsen pool
- Sze (10/5): -
Schwaches Netz, in Zimmer 35 zumindest.
- Sorley (8/5): -
- Starr (9/5): Beautiful hotel, hard bed - Nice location and beautiful room. Helpful staff. Onsen right downstairs. It was the largest room of all my hotels in Japan. Beautiful hotel At my age, sleeping on a futon on the floor was very comfortable. It was a good experience and won’t ned to do that again.
- katharina (8/5): Great meals in your room - Great dinner and breakfast served in the room
Near to the Main Street and all the public baths Don’t confuse the annex house with the actual house (annex cones first on left side and Google maps says you arrived at your destination- actual house is a few meters farther on the right side)
- Louis (7/5): Kinosaki Onsen is great - Localisation
- Julene (9/5): Staff was very polite and helpful. They worked very hard at communicating with us. Truly enjoyed our dinner and the enth - Great location. Very good value. A little worn down.
Futons on the floor were very minimalist and hard.
- Yuki (9/5): -
- Sal (8/5): - It was central to town. The staff were excellent and very helpful. The futon could be thicker. Parking was tricky but the hotel staff helped. The toilet was fine for us but may not be good if you are claustrophobic.
- Saga Hagman (7/5): -
- Daniel (10/5): -
- Alexandra (7/5): Satisfactory - The location is really good, and the room was a decent size. We received free entrance to the onsens as a result of booking this ryokan, as well as kimonos and yukatas to wear throughout our stay. We had both breakfast and dinner included as part of our stay. Unfortunately, something from the breakfast made me quite unwell. I’m not certain what caused it, but I started feeling ill shortly after eating.
What made the situation more difficult was the lack of communication with the staff. I completely understand that we were in Japan, but when welcoming international guests, there should be at least a basic effort to communicate and help visitors feel comfortable. At times, we didn’t feel particularly welcome, and it often felt like we were more of an inconvenience than guests.
There were also some inconsistencies with the service. Our rooms were meant to be serviced daily, including putting away futons and clearing trays, but this didn’t always happen. It felt like some of these issues stemmed from the communication barrier.
Overall, while there were positive aspects to the stay, improving communication with international guests and ensuring consistency in service would make a significant difference.
- Katsuji (10/5): -
- Chantanat (9/5): -
- Naho (10/5): -
- Jacoby (9/5): - Traditional ryokan, comfortable, and friendly staff
- Terence Tsz Chung (6/5): -
- Inoue (4/5): -
- Junji (10/5): -
- Can (2/5): Extremely disappointing experience - Worst ryokan experience in 25 years of travelling in this country. At this place only their own onsen is worth mentioning which was quite OK. The ryokan has clearly seen better days. Worn-out carpets and tired, outdated furnishings create a neglected and shabby atmosphere throughout the property. Instead of the calm, refined Japanese hospitality one would expect, the staff appeared nervous, inexperienced, and overwhelmed.
The rooms contained broken teapots and unclean glasses — details that should not be overlooked at this price level. During winter, the building is uncomfortably cold due to constant drafts, with cold air seeming to seep in from everywhere. Overall comfort does not appear to be a priority.
The private bath that had been reserved in advance was initially forgotten. After being reminded, it was hastily prepared. It turned out to be located in a separate, old, unheated building. The water was only lukewarm and the entire bath area was freezing cold, making it impossible to enjoy a relaxing experience. Despite these shortcomings, an additional fee was charged without clear prior communication.
The Wi-Fi did not function in the room, adding further inconvenience.
Considering the considerable price, there are significantly more attractive and better-maintained accommodations available in Kinosaki Onsen. This property cannot be recommended.
- Leandro (7/5): -
- Zhao hua (10/5): - CP質高
- Michika (9/5): A true old ryokan, charming and incredible service, but could use a deep cleaning and more attention to smaller details. - Very true ryokan, charming, polite staff, rooms were spacious and service was top notch. Food tasted great and yukatas/shoes/bag/Onsen pass were all provided. Older rooms so not very clean, some stains on tatami, some muck in bathroom (possibly moldy wooden chair), sizable gap in bath room window from the outside.
- Graham (10/5): Charming quiet ryokan with great staff. - We liked how it was close to a good amount of the onsens, family mart, and central intersection. It was also off on a side road so it was quite quiet. The staff were very friendly even with a tough language barrier, we had fun communicating Older property and older property compared to the more contemporary and updated ryokans on the main strip, however I’m not deducting points on its heritage.
- Hsiu Cheng (9/5): -
- Adrian (8/5): Quick and easy good for short stay - Simply was the food I like best like an easy good range to pick from Everything
- Matsumoto (8/5): -
- Nicholas (10/5): - The beautuful ryokan, the exceptional food and wonderful staff.
- Fai_happygirl (9/5): - Almost all This place is so nice. I love 💗💗 I can't call I didn't like but it's just the staffs could not answer my questions. They also not answer my messages in Book.com.
- Joan (8/5): -
- Leonardo (10/5): -
- Lewis Seah (10/5): Great Stay at Sinonomesou. Food is great and location is fantastic. Good value for $ - Location is central. Short walk to main food street and nearby public onsen. Dinner and Breakfast are great and staffs are friendly and helpful. Rooms are generally older but staff tried their best to make the stay comfortable.
In pieno centro.
Siamo stati veramente bene. E abbiamo dormito proprio bene.
- meng hoe (7/5): Impressive meals but staff not very well trained - Near famous hotsping
Very impressive nice traditional breakfast and dinner Couldn't contact them through email about dietary requirements, emailed several times no response. Had to contact them in japan through other hotel.
Staff talks very loudly across corridor, they knocked the room door and opened it themselves. Should have waited for us to open
They opened our room door and reminded us to have our meals so they can do housekeeping...
Only hot water provided.
Tooth paste and brush provided. The rest not given.
- Carlos (10/5): - Great location in Kinosaki. All the food was delicious. Dinner was especially huge! Short stay
- Jake Dickinson (8/5): -
- JOY HUNG (8/5): -
- Tammy_Sin (8/5): -
- Mark (9/5): -
- Dayna (8/5): -
- Selina (8/5): Enjoyable One Night Stay - Always enjoyed a ryokan stay. Didn't disappoint but didn't excite much either. Room size was good and futons comfortable. Location was great. Very easy to walk to main street ... but anyway Kinosaki Onsen isn't a big town so everywhere is walkable. Breakfast and dinner was in the room. A good spread and ryokan staff are very helpful. Onsen in the ryokan very small and nothing to shout about. Went onsen hopping at the public baths instead.
- Bettina (5/5): Ein schönes Erlebniss mit Abstrichen bei der Ausstattung. - Authentisches Ryokan.
- Antonin (8/5): -
- Giorgia (9/5): - Ottima posizione e fornisce yukata
- Paola Rgz (10/5): amaizing place, amaizing dinner!
- Velazquez (10/5): -
- goodwin (9/5): A good stay in Kinosaki! - The facility is a little dated but in line with the pricing.
Convenient location, staff shuttled us to the off site parking several times. Spacious rooms. Things like rusting plumbing and worn carpet take the shine off a little but it was still a great experience and Kinosaki was the jewel of our 3 week trip.
- Mono Fumado (9/5): -
- Tetsuo (9/5): -
- Nicholas (10/5): -
- Chaunce (10/5): 100% hospitality. - The workers were super sweet. I missed my flight and my trains so I did not get there at 3pm check-in time as I planned but way later almost 10 PM. Usually with a ryokan, they have a set time for dinner. If you missed it you missed it but at this place they set up dinner for you upon arrival to make sure that you are fed. It was a long day on the road, I was tired and was going to skip dinner. So I really appreciate them for that. N/A
- Teresa (7/5): The stay was pleasant. - Location very close to the station and onsens. There was a smell in the room.
