Guest Reviews
- Ian (10/5): - The property was beautiful and the staff were exceptional, the food was superb. Our new go to for a relaxing break.
- Gordon (10/5): - The Countryside Village Setting. The Garden and Seating out the back and the Conservatory with Television. My Bedroom was nicely furnished.
- Larsson (10/5): Absolutely beautiful - Beautiful and peaceful location. Very well maintained and modernised building. Gorgeous garde and very dog-friendly. Lovely staff and restaurant. Without exaggeration, the best chips ever. Some more breakfast options would be nice, especially gluten free, but it was very well accommodating already!
- Anton (10/5): -
- Sara (9/5): Very enjoyable stay in a great location for our hiking weekend. - Staff were all very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Lovely room and very attractive outdoor spaces Pillows were very firm.

- Heather (9/5): Beautiful, friendly, relaxed. - Beautiful location, beautifully presented property with colourful flowers around the outside of the property. Friendly and helpful staff who were able to give their local recommendations for activities and places to visit. Relaxed approach with no rushing us on at any time. Good communication. Would definitely stay here again, thank you.

- james (10/5): - First time staying here and as soon as we walked through the door it felt like home! Such a lovely place, quiet little village, perfect for us x room was lovely and we even had a small private garden. Staff were fabulous, so helpful and polite. Food was lovely and all home cooked. We are already planning on returning. Location is perfect for coastal walkers. Its a hidden jem. Absolutely nothing
- Smith (9/5): - Breakfast was excellent. Lovely place in a beautiful location
- Hayley (10/5): Great. - Lovely, deep, hot bath after a long day of walking the Cleveland Way!
Really comfortable room with huge comfy bed.
The staff are super nice, friendly and helpful. Nearly every other guest was a return visitor - one couple had been coming for more than 30 years! This is because itโs so friendly. Nothing.

- Lisa (8/5): Superb! - All of the staff were so welcoming and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The patio outside our room was a brilliant idea. Room was lovely and clean and the fridge and fresh milk for teas and coffee was very welcome! Only a small thing but the kettle was quite difficult to fill from the basin owing to the style of tap.

- Allan (10/5): excellent - all top class nothing
- Carole (8/5): A great place to celebrate - The staff were super helpful, but in general the lounge and dining room were rather cool., although I asked if it was warm and I was told there was a radiator beneath our seat, but it didn't seem to be turned on as the room was cold The breakfast room was even colder.
The bedroom was excellent although again on the cool side and another electric heater was supplied which made it cosy and warm. Only one towel rail in the bathroom was turned on but the staff turned it on and was much more pleasant. The bathroom was newly decorated as was the bedroom, and was very comfortable. The rooms should have been warmer

- Peter (10/5): Graet location, great staff, nice premises - Great location for visiting local attractions such as Whitby, Staithes, Saltburn and Runswick Bay. Good wholesome food and very pleasant staff. Good frequent local bus service with stops just outside the property. We stayed 3 nights Sunday to Tuesday and restaurant was busy every night. Very close to Whitby and located in nice little village, with beautiful views towards the countryside. The breakfast was lovely and the staff we interacted with were all very friendly and welcoming. The family was big and spacious with everything we needed to spend a wonderful time. Nothing
- Sessions (9/5): - We loved everything about Ellerby, the food and location are fabulous, the room has everything we needed and was clean. It was great that in the family room.there was a cot and a single bed, but we were a little wary of our young child sleeping downstairs. I realise this can't be changed and it won't stop us coming back again but this was the only 'criticism'
- Linda (8/5): Really lovely to be there. - Itโs attention to small things - towels, fresh milk, friendly service and the menus. The little garden outside room 7. Nothing

- Gary (10/5): - We had two nights at this hotel based on the excellent reviews, and we were not disappointed. Everything was exemplary. The room was spacious with probably the most comfortable bed we've slept in for ages. The food was equally good: nothing too fancy but perfectly cooked and piping hot. The same goes for breakfast. And if you like your beer, the Timothy Taylors Landlord was perfectly stored and served.
The location is superb - easy driving distance from Saltburn down to Whitby and beyond. If you prefer, you can leave the car and travel by bus with regular buses going along the coast.
Service by every single staff member was excellent - smiling, helpful and engaging. We hope to return again and highly recommend this lovely inn.

- Sue (10/5): Great long weekend away - Perfect location, great food
- Jennifer (10/5): Would definitely recommend and would stay again - Lovely atmosphere staff were lovely and in a great location. Food was excellent Just a couple of things that I discussed with owner. Needed a mattress topper as mattress was to hard, needed a hand rail in the shower for customers with disabilities and a roller blind on front door and some black out curtains in room.

- Stephen (10/5): A great find will use again when in the area. - Great location in countryside close to the beautiful beaches of North Yorkshire. Nice gardens, excellent friendly staff. Very good menu especially for coeliacs and excellent breakfast. Nothing
- Sandra (10/5): A trip to Northumberland and the North Yorkshire Coast - We loved everything about the Ellerby Inn. Our room was lovely and had a little sitting area outside. There was also a mini fridge with bottled water and fresh milk. The meals were really good and used the freshest, best quality ingredients; the tables were laid with fresh linen which is most unusual these days. Above all, the staff were so lovely and it was clear that many guests were repeat visitors and you can understand why. The little touches put the Ellerby far and above any of the other places we stayed on our trip. Thankyou. Nothing at all!
- Jeanette (10/5): Great place for a lovely, relaxing stay. - Lovely position, within walking distance of Runswick Bay, which is very pretty. The room was very comfortable, very clean and a nice big shower.
All the staff were friendly and helpful and our evening meal was delicious. Breakfast was generous and offered choices for vegetarians and coeliacs.

- Naomi (10/5): - Beautiful garden and room. The room was a good size with a large, comfy bed, great shower and fresh milk for tea and coffee.
We ate dinner there, having established that there were options for a vegetarian who was also coeliac. I had a vegan but not GF wellington, which was lovely. Breakfast was also excellent, with a coeliac-friendly omelette with GF toast. It was all delicious, so thank you Ellerby Inn!
The website said EV charging was available. We enquired at check-in and they said we could plug in our granny cable for a slow overnight charge. We didn't have it with us, but it would have been a great option if we did.
