Jeni (8/5): Lovely hotel in the heart of georgetown - The building is nice and offers character of Penang with some antiques displayed in the hallways. The location is wonderful and it's easy to walk everywhere around Georgetown as it's centrally located. The rooms themselves didn't have a lot of character but were more than sufficient and clean. The staff were happy to bring more water and the water was in glass bottles which I like much better than plastic.
Bernie (8/5): Nice stay in well renovated traditional style hotel. - A traditional style and very nice foyer, with friendly and helpful staff. My single room was pretty small but bathroom was good. The Pool is very small and shallow. My aircon was a bit noisy.

Patrick (10/5): A hotel full of character and excellent service - The whole hotel has a lot of character. From the moment the booking was made the hotel was in contact. The Manager on Duty Sri, lovely lady, very accommodating. Check in was smooth. The room was spotless, water and small biscuits provided daily. Just a fantastic experience. Well done Museum Hotel.

Brett Andrew (8/5): Wonderful expensive overall, with some small hiccups - It's a beautiful heritage building, with genuine old furniture, which adds greatly to the experience of staying in an old part of Georgetown. It's not too expensive, either, and is comfortable in a modern way. The air conditioning is not so strong. I also lost an expensive hair brush in the hotel room (I know it was there) and staff was unable to find/return it.

Monique (3/5): Must read before booking! - The decor was very nice. The wooden floors creaked very loudly when walking about the room. The lift broke down on the second dayand we had to use the stairs with elderly people in our group - the sign said "use service lift" but there was no service lift. There was maintenance going on from 10:00 - 5:00pm every day. I booked the room well in advance and was never told about it. The staff member on reception was not very informed on a number of issues at the hotel, or even just general enquiries

Florian (6/5): Beautiful hotel with nice breakfast but inconvenient breakfast hours - The breakfast was delicious and the bed was quite comfortable. I especially liked the interieur of the hotel, the decorations were really beautiful and stylish. The pool is also quite nice. The personell at the front desk was friendly and helpful :) One worker at the restaurant was quite unfriendly to me. The breakfast was really great, but unfortunately it starts from 8:00 AM, which is super late imho. On my last day I had to leave around 7:30 / 7:40 already, so I kindly asked them if I could have breakfast slightly earlier than usual or if they alternatively could prepare something small for me, for take-away. One worker told me that this is not possible and she did it in quite an impolite manner. Generally I don't really understand why they can't do it tbh. I stayed at many hotels where breakfast starts at 5 or 6 AM and in one hotel they even prepared breakfast for take-away for me at 3:45 AM, because I had to leave at 4:00 AM that morning. And here they can't do it at 7:40, I genuinely don't understand. Anyways, they brought me one lousy little biscuit to my room, maybe this was meant as a substitute for my breakfast, IDK.

nagma (8/5): Overall good but more staff and buffet breakfast would be good as we got bored eating same food 3 days in a row - The property itself was really nice No staff to help take our luggage ,we were a group of just 5 ladies and 2 of them had back problem plus you know your rooms are duplex then why there’s no concierge or staff to help ,this was very inconvenient and frustrating

Ting (10/5): - Location is very good- you can find a lot of delicious local street food near the hotel. Only 5~10 mins driving to George Town city center; 30 mins driving to airport. The decorations are amazing. The pool is not big - or we can say very little- but the caring and cleaning are done by hotel staff very often and the decoration is not bad.

The hotel also provides dedicated parking, which is a great convenience. Although the lighting is slightly dim, it creates a warm and cosy atmosphere. The bathroom is well-designed with four compartments—two toilets and two shower rooms—making it very convenient for a group of friends. The check-out process was a bit tedious. The place isn’t very friendly for elderly guests or kids due to the sharp, narrow staircase. Also, the TV is downstairs, not near the bed, which wasn’t very convenient.
Barrirero (8/5): Convenient location. - The hotel is very charming and picturesque, located right in the historic center of Penang, a UNESCO-protected area. The overall decoration is beautiful and full of character. However, at least in my case, the single room felt quite outdated and a bit depressing, which was a contrast to the rest of the property. Breakfast was tasty, though it’s not a buffet. You can choose from a menu with good and flavorful options. The juice, however, was not great at all, while the coffee was excellent.

Ann (9/5): - Lovely hotel near all the attractions. Staff were helpful when ever we needed anything. Room was small but comfortable. Swimming pool wasn’t deep enough for swimming but nice for cooling off in after a day of sightseeing.

Annie (6/5): Overall, good and comfortable - Location, friendly staff Door lock is horrible — i was struggling to lock and unlock everyday. Suggest to change the locks. We need to ask restaurant staff to top-up our water after we finish the ones provided everyday. Suggest to install a water dispenser at the common area so we can do it ourselves anytime.

Marianne (8/5): Charme et confort - Nous avons apprécié la décoration et le charme de l'hôtel. Notre chambre était propre et confortable. Personnel souriant et disponible. Situation assez centrale. L'hôtel est proche d'un arrêt du bus gratuit qui dessert les principaux quartiers touristiques de Georgetown. Petit déjeuner bon mais choix limité. Nous n'avons pas été enthousiasmés par le restaurant.

luyao (1/5): - I traveled with my family I’m in a single room,lived two days but changed three rooms The biggest problem is the noise and the light If you are sensitive to the light and the noise, it won’t be friendly to you First night,the air conditioner noise has bothered me and the light outside reflects above the ceiling. So I asked the customer service to change the room for me But the second night, the noise become louder and the light issue doesn’t disappear.So I ask the customer service changed for me again at 01:30am. I lost the sleep for a whole night
Toshiaki (10/5): - The interior has a strong sense of history and character, which made the stay very unique. The facilities are old but well maintained, and everything felt clean and organized. Meals are served à la carte rather than buffet-style, and the food was absolutely delicious. The staff were friendly, professional, and very refined in their service. The bed was soft and comfortable, ensuring a good night’s sleep. The shower had strong water pressure and a good supply of hot water. The location is also very convenient. The refrigerator was not working, so I couldn’t keep anything cold. The shower water can become extremely hot—almost scalding—so it needs to be adjusted carefully. Additionally, the sofa in the living room was quite worn out, and it became uncomfortable to sit on for extended periods.

Michelle (5/5): 5/10. Could be much improved with small attention to detail. - 20 mins walking distance to Armenian street is good. Room is very clean and comfortable. Staff are friendly and attentive. Building is incredible - historic. Decor could be much classier. For the price the overall environment felt "cheap." Breakfast/food was not good. Unhealthy, poor quality, coffee was awful. "Lap" pool is NOT a pool it's a paddle pool. Nothing close by to eat. No atmosphere.

The turn-down service was impeccable and I appreciated the small treats left in my room each day. The beauty and history of the building made the stay memorable. thomas (9/5): Suite magnifique, position stratégique, séjour fantastique - Bâtiment typique, chambre hyper spacieuse, personnel accueillant et à l’écoute. Emplacement proche de tout L’hôtel est dans une petite rue à l’écart de la grande route, donc vous êtes dans un petit quartier avec la vie qui va avec. L’hôtel étant « dans son jus « , il n’y a pas de double vitrage et le vieux plancher a tendance à craquer . Cela ne nous a pas dérangé car c’était ce que nous recherchions. Pour ceux qui aiment dormir dans le noir total , prévoyez un masque .
Glenda (10/5): A fantastic stay! - Our triple room was delightful! A bit like Goldilocks and the 3 bears with 3 beds upstairs! Very comfortable and with an extremely large tv screen! Such a beautiful room and up wooden stairs. The ground floor of the room contained a little sitting room and beautiful bathroom. We had a fabulous stay and loved the old style of the hotel! Also, Agi in reception was delightful!! Nothing - it was a wonderful stay.

Ian mackintosh (10/5): - It is a charming hotel with friendly staff in a great location on the edge of all that is happening but far enough not to be disturbed. Orange juice should be included with the breakfast, not charged extra but this is a very minor point
dabin (6/5): Could have been so much more - We stayed in the Longma suite which was lovely. Check in was easy and the young man at the desk was helpful and friendly. We stayed here for 4 nights. There were a few things that were not great. Breakfast didn't have many options available and I requested a smoked salmon bagel, with nothing on it, no cream cheese and no capers just pla smoked salmon on a bagel. So imagine my surprise when I received 2 pieces of smoked salmon on a plate and no bagel. It was returned to the kitchen and put on a bagel. My husband asked the lady at reception if she could write in Malay what I wanted in my bagel. She wrote it all in English instead. The following day I placed the same order and it arrived with cream cheese on it and was sent back. I don't like cheese. I spoke to the man at reception and he said the restaurant staff all speak and understand english and he would send a message to their head of staff. On night we returned to our room and it was full of flying insects, don't know if they were mosquitos but wasn't taking risk of getting bitten so went to reception to ask for insect spray. A worker came up with a can of spray but there were to many so he went and got an industrial pump pack sprayed them and then opened a couple of shutters to let the others out. That was on day 2 of our stay and the dead insects were still on the floor when we checked out because of lack of house keeping. Some of the shutters in the room would open in the middle of the night while you were asleep, god knows how but it happened twice on the same night. Their were rubbish collections about 2am every morning and motor scooters idling outside for half an hour with people chatting loudly at gone midnight. Just never seemed to get any sleep. The day that we checked out we wanted breakfast before our flight and was told that we weren't entitled to breakfast. Which seemed really odd seeing as we stayed there for 4 nights and had only had breakfast on 3 of those days because check in isn't until after 3pm any I think you can do better Museum hotel. Well done to the young man running the front desk because you are an asset to the hotel but others there have let the place down and need some training.
Matthijs (8/5): Beautiful old hotel in Georgetown - Beautiful old hotel in a good location near the UNESCO part of Georgetown, tucked away and quiet. Very close to New World Park food court, which is an exciting and adventurous place to dine. Bus lines to all major destinations are nearby. Beds literally seem antique, so they're built for shorter people and I couldn't stretch my legs on it. I would have a carpenter remove the plank at the foot end of the beds.

crompton (7/5): Good in parts - A beautiful old building with gorgeous decoration well located just by the edge of the heritage area. Reception staff top notch. We were first shown to a room that if it had been a little bigger would have passed for a walk in wardrobe. We complained and were moved but if it was a busy time and you couldn't move you wouldn't be happy. The tiny rooms are 1st floor (UK numbering) right hand/inner side of the left hand corridor. If you're thinking of booking you need a guarantee you're not there. Breakfast was a bit of a shambles. Wrong things brought, things not as described, some staff lovely some indifferent to your presence there.

Marty (6/5): - Overall, the Museum Hotel is a very nice place. We loved our room for the first 3 nights. However, when we extended our stay for a fourth night, we were moved to a very small room with noisy sewage pipes running underneath. Yet we paid the same price as for the much bigger room. This room was not worth 1/2 the price we paid.
James (6/5): - The aesthetic of this hotel is spot on—the common areas are well-curated, and the rooms are clean. Thanks to its central location, getting around was a easy. We enjoyed the breakfast, though the included drink options were a little more limited than expected. The property itself is well-maintained and stylish, but the guest experience fell short in a few key areas. The staff lacked the proactive hospitality we expected, offering very little help when asked about exploring Penang. Additionally, sound insulation is an issue; noise from the corridors echoed into our room, and the celebrations nearby made for a very loud second night.

Hilary (10/5): Stunning period property in the heart of Georgetown. - It was everything described in Booking.com and more besides! its a very impressive period property, beautifully maintained. There is much more to it than the description suggests. I enjoyed everything. Perhaps ensure that some guests don't expect a swimming pool, its only for paddling.
