Charming shabby chique ambiance but tending a little more towards the shabby than the chique. However, the lakeside setting was absolutely SPECTACULAR! The staff was friendly and accommodating. Despite the charming English Country vibe the bar with a stunning sunset view played redneck American country music. Not at all in keeping with the clientele.

We waited 30 minutes for a server after being seated, while tables around us received immediate attention. If it place was busy its understandable but it wasnt. This disparity in service felt like an act of purposeful neglect and a failure to provide inclusive service to all.

Mattresses were not put out and jacuzzi was broken and cold. Those are the amenities that meant the most when booking here and why we chose Christie’s. It was our honeymoon
- M. Joanne (6/5): Disappointing - This resort did not meet our expectations. We had a ground floor with a patio. The location was excellent and the room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. However the chairs were placed awkwardly right in front of the door to the patio. There was no bedside table on one side even though there was lots of room for one. There was inadequate lighting in the room- only one ceiling light and one small lamp. It was impossible to read after dark. The TV did not work but we were awakened at 2 AM by a bright flashing light on the cable box. The pool was open but rather chilly and the hot tub was not working. We still had to pay the full resort fee even though none of the activities were operational at this time of year. The food was excellent and the waitresses ( Allison and Cathy) were too! So all in all, not quite what we expected for the price. More attention to detail is required.

It's such a beautiful place! I absolutely love that it's a smoke free property! Only thing I'd love to see would be more gluten free and vegetarian friendly options at the restaurant.

The room looked like it had not been cleaned recently, cobwebs in corners of the room, stains in the toilet bowl, tons of dust underneath the bed.

- Catherine (8/5): - This place is a hidden gem if you keep some tips in mind. 1) When booking, ask for the newer section. We were given a room in the old section that looked out onto a roof with an a/c and other unsightly equipment, which we did not expect for our vacation resort. When we asked about changing rooms, the only other available option was overlooking the parking lot for an additional cost per night. We turned it down. 2) bringing a dog does not guarantee you a room with a walk-out patio. Again, ask in advance. 3) the restaurant does not serve lunch, and there is no microwave in the room. We visited a neighbouring resort for lunch which was lovely. 4) bring water shoes. The beach is a light layer of sand on top of rock. When the rock is exposed it can get very slippery and we actually saw somebody slip and fall. They were fine but it was concerning to witness. 5) even though dogs are permitted, they are not allowed in the restaurant unless they are service dogs. 6) The location on the edge of the water is ideal and the area is great for canoeing / kayaking, etc. It was not very busy which allowed for some peaceful times. The service was very kind, friendly, respectful.

Food was poor, there was a Keurig machine and no coffee pods in the morning and there was coffee in a carafe that was cold and didn't taste good and they didn't have any kind of cream it was only Coffee-Mate. The breakfast that I ordered two mornings was not what I ordered and there was no adjustment to cost only apologies for not getting what I ordered. The dinner was really poorly cooked and the service was slow and spotty. We went off site to eat after the first night in the restaurant. Television was arduous and had a substandard satellite with no guide..

- harbir (10/5): - I will get over some of the thing's where this place can make an improvement such as housekeeping. The fridge was really dirty. I did call the front desk about it. One of the curtains was ripped. The iron was leaking water, and the exhaust fan in the washroom was making too noise, but front desk was notified about everything because the overall experience at this place was great. I did not mind staying at this place. The place and surrounding area is serene, quiet and beautiful Lakeview with a lot of activities for the kids. They have the pool and spa. A lot could be done and a lot of options for hiking, walking boating, canoeing, and boat paddling. The restaurant also has good food although they might want to add some flavour like salt(again food was cooked to perfection) I ordered Pickerel dish and kids had fish and chips that was so so good and burger… food tastes amazing. all things aside I will still recommend this place and I will def. give thus place another chance.

The resort was completely empty and said that we couldn’t spend the day there for taking the sand. Seemed like a big waste to have such a beautiful location and not able to use the facilities Breakfast was not good, much too expensive for the food quality Room was lake view not left something to be desired as it really faced onto an outdoor patio

- Peter (2/5): - DO NOt STAY HERE .This was by far the most disappointing hotel experience I have ever had. We showed up at the hotel excited although concerned when we pulled up and they had ripped curtains in some of the main rooms of what looked to be the better side of the hotel. We checked in and paid for our room by the most amazing young ladies. We went to our room to find a tiny room that smelled like bleach so strong our eyes burned.,which was strange as there was still dust everywhere including the glasses and bed. We had to open the windows to be able to breathe. . I went to ask about another room and was offered an upgrade at a higher cost. Ultimately we lost confidence when we were offered the ripped curtin side. We decided not to stay and drive back 3.5hrs home instead. We asked for a refund and because booked through Expedia were told to contact them. I did and was told they had to contact the property. They did and It was agreed upon for a full refund. They later changed thier mind at the property and declined it. Beyond frustrated..

- Yuka (8/5): - We had an amazing time staying here. The room was very clean, staff was nice, and so many activities available! The only thing we didn't like was the pool and the pool staff. When we checked in, we were told that the pool was available. So we changed our outfits and headed to the pool. It was dark with no lights, and the staff started cleaning the pool after seeing us. Then after some of us started hanging out in the pool, they told us "Oh, we're cleaning the pool, you can come back in 30 mins". Our bodies were already wet but fine, we left the pool and came back after an hour. The pool was still closed, and they said they'll need another hour to clean the pool. I showed my dissatisfaction as we were told only to wait 30 mins, however they didn't apologize at all. They only said it was for our safety. After some time the front desk called us and told us that the pool was finally ready. First of all, they should have told us that the pool was under the cleaning process before we started hanging out there. We would have understood and come at a different time. Or the pool maintenance should occur in night or before they open the pool in the morning. I do not understand why they needed to do it AFTER they saw us and started being in the water... or at least they should have apologized to us, their attitude made me unsatisfied. Anyways, that was the only disappointment. All other staff were so kind and nice to us. The hotel was clean and beautiful, good for price.

And if you don't like toilet paper that is made out of newspaper (bring your own) Also!!! The hot tub is still not working (Jets) Other than that, the property makes up for it all We will be back, I now know to call ahead and make sure I never get room 207 ever again.

The grounds on the other hand, not very clean, carpets old and have an Oder, place needs more maintenance and painting. Our patio door was very difficult to operate, screen door damaged, would not close. The staff helped make up the short falls, very good.

The standard rooms unfortunately our paper thin, which means you can hear everything from the other rooms around you even the snoring of the other people in the next room around you. The hot tub jets are broken. They don’t do every day cleaning of the rooms. This is kind of annoying because when you’re on holiday, you don’t wanna have to do your own pet or clean your own room. That’s why you’re going on holiday. They also don’t leave enough towels when there’s more than one person in the room. Or enough amenities like shampoo and conditioner. But the beauty of the property is incredible.

- Amber (8/5): - Spent our anniversary at Christie’s Mill (first time we’d ever been) and overall we had a wonderful stay! Our original room was across from the sauna and was super hot but we got our room upgraded and switched within a few hours of our arrival with immense apologies from the staff! We weren’t a huge fan of the dinner menu but loved going to the restaurant for breakfast. Pool definitely could’ve been warmer in my opinion since it is labeled as a “heated indoor pool” and didn’t look the cleanest. But the soaker tub was wonderful, and loved the outdoor sitting area when we finished swimming. Overall the hotel staff and restaurant staff were amazing and super helpful with anything we needed. We enjoyed our getaway and would definitely return.

In jedem Falle ein Zimmer mit Seeblick nehmen. Keinesfalls mit Sicht aufs Dach! Das Hotel hat einem neueren und einen älteren Teil. Der ältere Teil war renovierungsbedürftig. Es war muffig und nicht richtig sauber, Spinnweben an der Decke, jede Menge tote Fliegen an Fenster, Haare im Bad und unterm Bett wurde schon ewig nicht mehr gesaugt. Schade, eigentlich hat das Hotel mit seiner Lage und einem Garten direkt am See Potenzial

- Ali (1/5): This placed needs a lot of cleaning and some bug spray - Nothing First, Our room was full of mosquitos and other insects. Second, the back patio lock was broken and a piece of wood was placed to hold the door locked. Third, pool water had mold growth in it and the water was all dark. I requested to change my room for which the receptionist said that they don’t have any other room available. We checked-out of this property after just 2 hours of check-in. It was my wedding anniversary and we ended up driving back to Toronto. And funny thing is that the hotel still charged us full two nights stay plus the resort fee. For 2 hours it costs us more than $500.

- Verified traveler (8/5): An average hotel for the price - Pros: Staff is very friendly and accommodating for requests. The amenities are great. Cons: There are dogs behind the checkin counter and there is a strong dog smell in the lobby. The room had bugs and spider webs in it. The room had not been cleaned properly as food dropped by the last guests was still on the carpet when we checked in. The shower head is average and not what we would expect for the price.

- Debora (10/5): Relaxing weekend. All you need under one roof. - Christie's Mill Inn and Spa was the perfect spot for a relaxing weekend. We swam in the lake (small private beach with chairs and shade); we used the indoor pool (which was clean and spacious) and the amazing outdoor areas for relaxing (from couches to beds to Muskoka chairs, all over the property facing the water). We had dinner in the restaurant and it was lovely, also used the spa where everyone was nice and the place was clean. No need to go anywhere at all during the weekend. It was relaxing and we left happy and well rested! Would recommend and will most definitely come back!

The shower head in our room was very tricky to find the sweet spot where there was still enough pressure, and yet warm. Not very sound proof and the map of the building was very unprofessional and so tiny we couldn't decipher it.
- Lucinda (6/5): - The view was beautiful except my room on the second floor did not have access to the deck . The other rooms did on either side of me so other people could sit on the deck (which they did) but I had to keep my blind closed for privacy. My room was in the middle . Not sure why I was the lucky one 😬 There is no elevator to the second floor which was difficult for a 73 year old to carry luggage / no offer from staff to help. The dinner was okay but expensive .
- Scott (10/5): - Very close to the 400 highway, but very quiet. The call of loons, ducks and geese were very soothing. Watched a beaver swim by. While most of the features (restaurant, seasonal water craft) were not available as it was off season, we were able to walk to another restaurant and it was great. Looking forward to visiting again during summer season.
- Lisa (4/5): - 1. There was a putrid odour in the hallway outside our room. 2. Unexpected charges of $25 /day. When asked we were told it was to use the pool and any other activities. We did not actually use any “activities” but none the less we were charged $50 extra on our bill.
- Lisa (10/5): - The staff were positive and friendly, Ready to help at any time. The food was excellent! The most amazing part was the view.
- Christine (7/5): Great setting but reduced service. - Very modern and clean room. Nice setting near the water. The dining room wasn’t open, (only Wednesdays to Saturdays), apparently not the season yet, even though it was June 10. No cream/milk even though coffee was all we could have for breakfast in our room. Maybe they should only open when they can accommodate the basics. Other resorts nearby had bar and restaurant open. We would have stayed there if we had known.

- Maimuna (8/5): - This is our go to place every year and we love it, this year we went on June 1st but unfortunately the beach, fireplace, canoes/kayaks and day beds weren’t setup for use. Next time we would be booking later in the summer after confirming everything is up and running for use. Otherwise great place to visit !!
