- CHEE WENG (8/5): - Centralised located. Easy access to train station. A small and compact room. Cleanliness is just above average.
- Virginia (10/5): - This hotel needs to be deep clean. They give us room at the 8th floor which super dirty. Went to front desk and ask for another clean room. They move us to 12th floor which looks like newly renovated . Still i will not comeback in this hotel... Staff was very nice, keep saying sorry to us.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Hotel with great value - Great value for price and location being right beside Taichung's main train station with easy access to other transport (ex. to Taipei HSR station, Sun Moon Lake, UBike station). Room also had good view of the nearby plaza beside the train station. Free breakfast had a good selection of hot foods and drinks, including pork or chicken + veg noodles, stewed and fried vegetables, congee with various toppings, hard-boiled eggs, toast, soy milk, etc.

- Timothy (8/5): Lot of homeless people nearby. - 8 storey hotel right next to the Taichung railway station so very convenient. Plenty of restaurants and shops around. Lot of homeless people sleeping outside the station and this hotel. Great 2nd floor breakfast room with street view, but breakfast was only ok. Eggs and vegetables or noodles. Coffee, toast and jam and juice mainly with fresh fruit. Ok for a few nights but not much to see in Taichung.

The MRT is not yet connected to all parts of the city making bus as the main transport. The place is near to the bus stops to sun moon lake as well.

- Lee Khoon (6/5): Disappinted at this hotel. - We were in Taichung. Room was small for the price paid compared to Kaoshiung. Shower was next to the window. There was only a wash basin and no space to put our own toiletries. But Staff are very courteous and helpful. Location is very convenient.

- Sammie (4/5): - Had a horrible experience here. Upon checking in we found that there was broken glass in the bathroom, also parts of the bathroom door was on the ground. Did not think much of it, until 8am the following day (Saturday morning, mind you) when there was horrendous shaking and loud banging noise from the hotel’s construction. Thanks for telling us in advance. The on duty manager was useless and was unable to change rooms. No offer for any compensation or at least try to delay construction in the morning whatsoever. We were once again woken up at 8 the following day (Sunday). Parking is offsite. No loading/unloading area for luggage. Horrible experience overall.

Staff was polite and they know English. Train station is like 100m away or something like that. Oh yes and for breakfast there are quite various foods.

- Cindy (8/5): - The location is excellent just in front of Taichung train station access 1 minute by walk. Many shops and restaurants arounds the hotels. I booked one single room, it has in the corner perhaps this the air-cond it weaken. I felt very hot as the hotel provides Duvet even outside temperature was 30C. I request to change with thin quilt, but hotel has cannot others quilt rather than Duvet. They sent a fan to my room. Breakfast is very simple and so many guests check-in more than the tables available. Overall the hotel is good location, clean and valuable and have friendly staffs. I will book it on my next trip to TaiChung.

- KA YAN (10/5): The best hotel in tai chung - We booked a room for 4 during our trip in tai chung. The room is big enough for 3 of us to open our luggages inside the room at the same time. The air conditioner is functioning properly. The bathroom is clean and expectedly spacious. The water is warm quickly. There are free snacks and water everyday. The location is perfect which is near the tai chung station. The staff is friendly and helpful. There is also a luggage weighing machine over the lobby. It's convenient for us to measure the weights of the luggages before going to airport. Generally it's a nice hotel to stay.

- Verified traveler (6/5): Good location, near to train station - The hotel name was changed to Plaza Hotel and we were not aware of as we booked for Butler Hotel on Expedia. It would be nice if Expedia informed us of this change. We ended up going round and round the area to find Butler Hotel, wasted our time and effort as we were changing multiple pieces of luggage. We followed the google map of the hotel location, went around that area, here and there. Gave up finally in front of Plaza Hotel, walked into it and asked a staff for Butler Hotel. We were surprised that we were actually standing in the correct spot. The hotel staff did not put on pleasant and inviting faces. The room was alright apart from too many mirrors in it. The toilet was clean apart from the dirty floor mat.

I liked it that my room has a window that allows me a view of the bustling road. The hotel is very near the Taichung train station but due to some train station reconstruction works (supposedly to complete by Oct 2018), some searching might initially be required to locate the hotel. Also, the hotel is actually known as Plaza Hotel on the building façade. Breakfast buffet may not be top notch but the variety of comfort food items offered is very pleasing. Great view at the restaurant's dining area too. Hotel staff very efficient and eager to be of service (they offer tips and brochures on buses to take to various places). 24-hour convenience stores and a few sightseeing hotspots within very near walking distance. There is also an oddly secluded laundry room, gym and business centre at the basement for hotel guests' exclusive use. They seem to have a stringent policy on check-in and check-out time though, as they politely offered me hourly extension rates when I enquired about late check-outs.

- Nga (10/5): Recommend - Great value. Next to Taichung station. Comfortable stay.
- Sim Choon (8/5): New Renovated Hotel - Overall the hotel stay was good except that the room of ours have many LED blue light switch which made the room too bright for sleep. The laundry service would be good if its free for guests use. Breakfast replenish of food too slow but coffee was delicious.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Large Room, Next to Taichung Train Station - Within 5 mins walking distance to Taichung Train Station for trips out of Taichung. The room is spacious and the two large beds are more than enough to accommodate a family of 4. take the Family Room. And at this price, highly value-for-money.

- Hon Nam (8/5): Value for money - Convenient location. Though next to train station, it is quiet. UBS bus just opposite the hotel.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Convenient and comfortable hotel - Comfortable and clean hotel. Facilities are new and staff are friendly. Most sightseeing spots and shops are within walking distance. Breakfast has a fair variety of choices. Just WiFi was rather weak so we had to use our own WiFi egg.

It was pretty spacious, modern and well equipped (sockets, international adapter, WIFI). Breakfast was simple but sufficient. The table we had breakfast had a rather good, street view. I was satisfied and comfortable.

I wouldn’t say I was overwhelmed by anything, but my room was clean & tidy, bathroom was nice and spacious, and it was quiet. Good location next to the train station, although the high speed train station is miles down the road (do note this).
- Verified traveler (6/5): Less than pleasant - The hotel is situated next to the Taichung train station, surrounded by dirty dusty buildings. The name is very confusing: there are at least 2 other 'Plaza' hotels in the same area, each with a different Chinese name. The taxi drivers in Taichung hardly spoke English and we were dropped off at the wrong hotel more than once and had to find our way to the right hotel in the hot humid evening by asking directions and getting more lost. As for the rooms, they smelled of stale cigarette smoke even though they were supposed to be nonsmoking rooms. The windows and curtains were grimy and the showers drained really slowly. The rooms (we had 2) felt old and tired. The front desk staff (2 young men and a young woman) were not friendly or helpful when we tried to asked about bus service to Sun Moon Lake. The breakfast was nice but the employees in the restaurant were equally cool and indifferent. Makes you wonder why any of the workers there bothered to be in the hospitality business.

- Krisada (8/5): Close to taichung railway station - The staff is great, and the room is clean. At the opposite of hotel has my company namely ubus. Recommend for those who want to stay for a night and come back to taipei. It's a good choice to consider.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice and clean - Very good location, near TRA and very convenience to commute to THSR. There were many shops around the hotel and very near Miyahara. Room and toilet was clean.
- Helen (6/5): Close to train station - Hotel is located only 5minutes walk from Taichung train station which is very convenient. I asked staff about the night market and rainbow vellige on arrival. Instead of providing some helpful information she told me the vellige is too far and the night market might not on due to raining.
- Alexander (10/5): Comfortable and perfectly located business hotel - The hotel has a perfect location, right in front of the train station, 2mn walk to intercity bus terminal, with many other bus lines. There is a gym on the basement floor. My room on the 11th floor had a great view of the station area, it was comfortable, well decorated and functional, although a bit small and not well sound-proofed (from noises inside the hotel). The buffet breakfast in the bright 2nd floor cafe was very nice.

- yuk kuen (8/5): a hotel value for money. - Good for the value. Close to the train station n convenient. Staff is helpful. Room facing the main road which is a bit noisy.
- Cyclist (8/5): Next to Taichung Station - Very decent hotel with good breakfast option. New facilities. Unfortunately there are constructions going on nearby and it can be noisy at times. Convenient otherwise.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - They need to clean the room better. When we checked in we found left over food in the fridge and the next day we noticed food crumbs that were not cleaned on the floor. The location is good but need improvement on the cleaning part.

- helen (6/5): Pls keep the noise down - Stay for 3 nights. Happy with the check-in and decor of the room. But the experience became bad when I was awaken in the morning by noise caused by showers (10+ times) and toilet flush (5+ times) from other guest rooms. Thus, the noise from outside became tolerable. Can also clearly hear TV from other guest room. In short, the sound proof does not work. The pillow was so hard my neck ached on the following day. Upon request, hotel gave me a softer pillow and towels to replace the hard pillow but there was nothing they could do about the noise apart from offering another room without window which was unacceptable to me. I definitely will not stay in this hotel again but would recommend to those do not mind so much about noise given the price
- Yick Fei (8/5): Good location - Good location near the Railway Station. The room was alright, but there were marked stains on the floor which I weren't too impressed with.
- Carrie (8/5): Convenient and cozy. Breakfast needs improvement. - The hotel is clean and cozy. Room size is fair, you can have enough space for two big luggage. There is no window in our room but it is still acceptable for one night stay and worth the price. It is close to the Taichung Station (only abt 3 min walk) There are also a number of buses which allow you to go different places. Staff are nice and helpful. The only bad thing is the breakfast there. The restaurant is a bit small to accommodate all the guests, especially during peak hours, like 9 sth. (it offers breakfast from 7-10). My bf and i arrived at the restaurant at 930 and there was a long queue waiting for seats. I walked around the restaurant and found that not much food left. I m not sure whether they will fill up cox its 930 already. In the end i didnt hv breakfast there.
- Miki (10/5): Close to the Taichung Train Station - This is the 3rd or 4th time staying at Plaza Hotel. Their service and their rooms again was very much up to expectation. This time round, I stayed in their double room which is spacious. I've given feedback last year during my stay that they could provide more vegetarian/vegan friendly breakfast for their guest and this time, their breakfast are more vegetarian friendly. Even with the new Train Station, it is still within walking distance and very accessible to various places.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Convenient and clean - This hotel is right opposite the train station. Easy to walk. It was comfortable, not lavish, however we had the cheapest rooms, so others might have been better. It was clean but a bit worn. Good breakfast with plenty of choices.
- Lim AL (8/5): Good location. - Location is just next to Taichung Train Stn. Room is spacious and clean but no window. Need to improve on breakfast spread. Also very near to Yichong nite market.
