Michelle (10/5): Fantastic place to stay!! - We read the reviews and so didn't have our hopes up too much but we were pleasantly surprised!! Got to check in early and even if you can't, you can hang out at the pool until your room is ready. Pool was excellent. Condo layout was perfect. Our condo was very clean and we had plenty of supplies. It is a very short walk to Coligny but the free golf cart shuttle is amazing!!! Tip the driver - worth every penny! :) We had a fantastic time and would definitely come back.
Verified traveler (8/5): Stay Across the Street Instead - This resort was okay. There was a dead roach in the kitchen area as soon as we walked in and the air conditioning unit wasn't big enough for the space. The condo itself was okay for a quick getaway. After checkout, I looked at my cc charges and found they charged me the hotels.com rate after the registration had to be paid in full! Still waiting on the charge to be erased.

Denise (8/5): Very spacious hotel. - My husband and I rented a 2 bedroom villa, all the 1 bedrooms were full. It was huge! It would be perfect for a family of 4 or 5. Everything was so updated, comfy and clean. Everything in the kitchen is new, organized, service for 12 so you only need to use the dishwasher once a day. The washer and dryer in the room would be perfect for a larger family. Very pretty, spacious room. It really was a nice villa, room 5423. The view was not pleasing; there were trees that had fallen and were chopped up and left there. We didn't spend any time on the balcony for that reason. If that area was cleaned up a little, cleared out, maybe a small bird sanctuary, it would be nice to sit out there. Although it's close to the beach, and not a very long walk, you'll want to rent bikes to get back and fourth more quickly. It is a time share so expect a call to have a meal and get paid to listen to them try to get you to buy in. We took the phone off the hook, problem solved.While we absolutely loved the room, we will probably book something ocean front next time. Due to our jobs, we can only get away for 3-4 days at a time, so we want to have quick access to the beach. I would suggest that they provide beach chairs and umbrella. All the other places we've stayed at on the Island provided those things, so we had to buy them. All in all we'd give this place a 4.5 out of 5. The view from the balcony was sad. Other than that, it was really nice!!

Doug (10/5): Lovely stay - We rented a one bedroom unit and had an excellent stay. The unit was extremely clean. It was a short 10 minute walk to a beautiful time to 12 mile Beach. Great location. Very nice pool area. We would definitely stay again if in the area.

Gary (2/5): Everything great...except golf package deception - Made a reservation at Waterside through Expedia. We stayed two nights. The ad has a large banner that says, "Limited Time. $200 golf credit per day." I made the reservation and the confirmation fine print includes, " $200 golf credit per day." Unfortunately this is not the case. There is no fine print anywhere indicating any restrictions, add ons, etc. However, resort will issue a credit only for green fees and only at Shipyard/Port Royal. The cart fee is $38 per person...$78 for my wife and I The cost to play there with green fee and cart fee from the courses directly varies, but is generally $69. Our trip was Sept 8-12. The resort was only willing to cover $31 each for my wife and I or a total of $62 per day rather than their advertised $200 per day. The cost for one round each would be less than the $200 credit (69x2=138) yet they are only willing to cover $62. The ad says nothing about green fees only; not in the ad or in any fine print anywhere. I contacted them directly (supervisor ) who was steadfast in refusal to honor the $200 credit nor even pay just the actual cost of $138. After repeated complaints, the paid the cart fee for the first day only. This is clearly not consistent . With all the deals being offered of free rooms/golf etc at vacation resorts to attract buyers, this deal seemed good, but not outrageous. The $200 credit per day is simply not honored. The room and facilities and location were all very good.

It was very spacious. Our girls were so excited to have their own tv, bathroom and king bed! Wow, we thoroughly enjoyed it!

We were pleasantly surprised at how much fun we had staying here. At first we were concerned about not being right on the beach. But the location was perfect. We walked to the shops and beach quite easily. The resort was near many restaurants too.

Verified traveler (8/5): Perfect location ! - Just got back from our vacation to Hilton Head Island. It was our first time to HHI. We enjoyed our stay at the Waterside Resort . Overall comfortable and clean. The location makes up for the small details. It's is perfect located within a short stroll to Coligny Beach and all it's attractions , restaurants and shops. Sea Pines , Harbour Town, Shelter Cove and Palmetto Resorts are all within a 10 min drive.
Dawn (8/5): Nice Condo blocks from the beach - The unit was very clean and large with 3 bedroom and 3 baths. Balcony overlooked the lagoon. 2 large pools and 1 child's pool on the grounds. Several blocks to the beach and Coligny Plaza. Walking distance to the grocery store. My only complaint is the same with just about any accommodation I have every stayed in- the walls are not insulated and you can hear your neighbors (especially screaming babies). Plumbing was noisy from the overhead unit. Now having said that- it was a nice unit.

Erin (6/5): Beach is great! - The best thing about this hotel was the walk to the beach. It is so close. However thats all it really has going for it. The bed and pillow are uncomfortable. I had to kill a "water bug" the minute we walked in the room. It was the only one I saw or had to kill so I guess thats a good thing. The unit didn't cool down well. We had to close the vents to push the air back to the bedroom because we had a toddler. Plus no one likes to sleep in a warm/hot room. Like I said the only thing was the beach.

Jeanne (8/5): 4th of July weekend at Waterside - Overall, we had a really great stay. I thought that the location was fantastic. It is more than 2 blocks to the beach but it is fairly close to everything on the island. Our biggest concern when making the reservation was if it had an elevator. I am unable to go up and down steps due to health issues. The details of our reservation was that this facility had elevators....which is true for most buildings but not the one they placed us in. I called this facility after booking and they told me that all buildings had elevators. After checking in, we found out the building we had did not. Fortunately it was on the first floor but it still had steps that made getting in & out very difficult for me. Very disappointed that no one disclosed that. If they had placed us on the second floor we would not have been able to stay. The condo was much nicer than pictured and we had everything we needed. The bathrooms were very nice & spacious. I have to say that the pool was the highlight of our trip. It was very nice, large and did not ever seem real crowded even on a holiday.
