Guest Reviews
- Heather (6/5): Hoi An homestay - The breakfast is the best thing about this homestay, along with the price. It used to have a quiet and tranquil outlook but a cultural show/theme park has been built opposite and is noisy until about 10. Nice distance from Hoi An old town.
- Jane (10/5): Great stay. - It was out of the busy city, which was great for us, it was a 10 min cycle ride, which we had free bikes given to us by our host. A great place to stay to see Hoi An. A great host and book your onward travel with her as we could of got the bus journey cheaper than we did, as we booked it in Hoi An.
It was amazing looking around Hoi An and going by bike to the herb farm and beach.
We also had a good breakfast each morning.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good - Good......... Clean.......... Quiet..........
Good view of the river
- Wang (10/5): Best Homestay Experience Ever - It's one of the reasons I came all the way to this acient town called Hoi An. I stayed in this family runned homestay in 2014 and I had absolutely loved it. The lady owner is so kind throughout the stay. She helped me to arrange a taxi for a reasonable price to airport, I also rented a motorbike from her for a good price. They do have free bicycles to borrow tho. When I was there in 2014, her eldest son was still a very young man and this time when I came back he'd married, and her other children have grown up as well, it's just amazing. I actually love the location as well. It's slightly far away from main tourist spots, takes about 15mins to walk start from the bridge. At night this little island is totally peaceful, and the homestay definitely gives you the home feelings. I loved neighbourhood as well. There's a spa shop nearby gave me so much discount with amazing service. Despite they living in a very much commercial community, I felt like as a tourist living not far away from tourist attractions I still received excellent service. I will definitely return to this homestay if I visit Hoian next time.
- Kit Yee (6/5): - I think this is a bit overrated. The place is not very clean but the family are very nice.
- Frank (8/5): - Belle hotel, propre, tranqille, personnel aimable
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Location in Ho an was perfect. A short walk away from the centre. It had a nice relaxing feel to it. The staff were Helpful and gave us a real price for bus tickets.
- Jonas (8/5): Really nice, quiet and friendly place - The place is located a couple of km outside the city centre on one of the islands. You can borrow bicycles for free from the hotel which really made the distance a non-issue. We liked the peace and quiet that the location brought. The manager is so so nice :) Breakfast is also a treat.
- Lisa (10/5): highly recommended ! - Homeland River Homestay is just lovely. We stayed here 3 nights.
- beautiful owners, friendly and incredibly accommodating. Would do anything to make their guests happy.
- location is a little bit out of the way, about 15 min walk to where the action is a nice walk along the river will get you there, but we just took a scooter.
- scooters can be hired directly from the homestay, about $8AUD a day, or 132,000 dong. We didn't try to barter this. Just we're happy to pay as the owner is so kind and generous.
- bicycles can also be hired which would be great if you're not comfortable on a scooter. I think these were free. (But not 100% sure)
- exceptionally clean room and bathroom.
- large room.
- big bed, queen maybe, and clean linen. A blanket is in the cupboard, only a sheet is dressed upon arrival.
- beds are firm.
- fan and aircon work a treat.
- room got a bit muggy through the day, and seemed to get slightly damp. This could have been the time of year we are travelling - raining and drizzling most of the day, but still can be quite warm during some parts of the day.
- delicious food and really cheap too.
Overall, I absolutely and highly recommend Homeland River Homestay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): ruhig gelegen - familiär geführtes guesthouse in ruhiger Lage,
Zimmer nichts besonderes
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely family, great food - This homestay is just a short bike trip from the town (really nice free bikes available at the homestay). We loved our host's cooking and extended our stay because we loved the family and the town so much. This is a great place to relax on the riverside and watch the sunrise.
- Katherine (10/5): Stay here! - The stay was great! They offer bikes to take out which we rode all over Hoi An as well as to the beach. They also have motorbike rentals which was super fun to tour the city on as well.
- Nicolas (10/5): 3 jours à Hoi An - 3 jours à Hoi An.
- seawash (8/5): Nice spot by the river - Clean bright airy room and bathroom (shower). On the banks of the river about 10/15 minutes walk to the centre of town but free hire bikes available.
- Ben (8/5): little far but ok - Stayed there fir two nights! Good bf overlooking the river! Far from town but with a bike y can get there in 10~15 min. A little noisy from the road but the staff were very nice with one free family lunch invitation! Nothing to see or do in that area!
- James (8/5): Good service and comfortable stay, recommended. - Very comfortable and friendly service. About one km to the old city of Hoi An. You can take a slow walk or the staff will call a taxi which costs about US$1 to the entrance of the old town.If you like a quiet stay, this is the place and I recommend it.
- Megan (10/5): Very good! - This is an awesome place to stay! The rooms were spotless, the shower was great pressure, the aircon worked and the family running the place was always so helpful! The only two downfalls would have to be the location (it's about a 10-15 minute walk from any restaurants, bars, etc.) and also the laundry service wasn't very good. When we got our clothes back, some of them smelled like dirty water... So I would avoid doing your laundry there!
In all, great places to stay for the price!
- Jason (10/5): Great homestay - Excellent. Friendly, free bikes. Great tours available. Nice views.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Amazing family owned place - It is very close to the old town. The breakfast area has an amazing view of the river (almost in it! no sarcasm intended here). Although the beaches are about 4km from the hotel, there are bikes available for all guests, so you can reach them in minutes. The area is extremely quiet, but close to everything. The rooms were spacious enough, well equipped and spotless. It was a great choice.
- Christopher (10/5): great place a short bike ride from city - very nice family, free bikes offered for 5-10 minute ride to town. Helped arrange car service to Da Nang for about $15USD
- Kathy (8/5): Nice and welcoming hotel. - Very relaxed and friendly family run hotel. Very clean and comfortable room. Extended my stay here and would come here again if in Hoi An again.
- Lindsey (8/5): Lovely Homestay on the River - Even though this hotel is a little out of the main area of Hoi An, it was a short 15 minute walk into town and a beautiful walk at that. The service was amazing! It didn't matter what time I came down for breakfast she insisted on cooking for me, and it was always delicious, and I loved eating my breakfast beside the river each morning. They even offered to drive me into town on their motorbike when I had to catch the bus. The room was clean, pretty standard but comfortable. I would definitely stay here again.
- Susan (8/5): Wonderful stay - I had a wonderful time - the hotel is about a 15 minute walk, but I enjoy walking and took a bike a couple of times. The homestay has bikes for your use for free. You can take the bike to the rice paddies - make a right after the bridge and ask for a map. The owners are just so friendly, and it was nice to stay someplace that was not noisy with the locals following you everywhere. Breakfast in included -
- Verified traveler (10/5): great place to stay - a really nice affordable homestay, nice big comfortable room with all you need, good location, good food and extremely helpful owner who goes out of her way to make things comfortable, would definitely recommend.
- Naomi (8/5): Lovely hotel, just out of town - Really enjoyed our home stay experience, the staff were friendly, always willing to help, organised laundrey washing and cars to the airport for us etc. The Hotel is approx 1km from the old town, they provide bikes however or its an easy walk into the old town.
- Tim and mae deW (10/5): Just real good people to stay with - Had a brilliant time at this homestay. A bit out of town. But no problem they have moterbikes to rent. And bicycles to use. There inglish a bit limited but they get by alright. When there they just leave you alone to do own thing. But if you require anything they are only to eager to help. I have no problems recommending this place to anyone after a smaller budget place but want good service and a comfortable stay.
- James (10/5): ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL! - The best place we have stayed in a long time! The owner of the house is absolutely lovely! Will help you with whatever you may need and the bike service offered is fantastic! Nice quiet location with just a 7min ride into town. Rooms are great and the wifi and aircon is fantastic! Computers are free to use but looked to have a bit of virus issues! Couldn't fault the place if I tried! Will recommend and stay there again!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Perfect place - Lovely family and nice hotel! Highly recommend it!
- Cloye (4/5): Not that great - Felt a bit weird staying here, was okay but there were bugs everywhere and the doors in the room didn't close properly. Flies all over the food at breakfast.
Not overly bad but not us.
- David S (10/5): brilliant stay in hoi an - This accommodation is not centrally located but less than 10 minutes from the action using the free cycles provided. The owners were very friendly and helpful and really made us feel at home. Breakfast was ok but choice was limited. Would certainly recommend this accommodation.
- Nick (10/5): A Homely stay - The family that run the homestay are very friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and of a reasonable size with air con and fan. Breakfast choices are sufficient with brilliant iced white coffee
Dung pronounced Yoong Will happily make you lunch or an evening meal at you request.
Made to feel part of the family. Location is about 1 km from bridge. market and old town quite handy and an easy walk or they have bikes.
You can also hire motor bikes at a very reasonable daily rate.
- Jeff B. (10/5): Awesome family - awesome hotel - This excellent little hotel is a bit outside the main area of Hoi An. It's about a 15 minute walk to the shops and markets, but the area is so scenic I didn't mind. They also provide bicycles free of charge so getting to and from the beach and town is super easy. Breakfast is plentiful and the family that owns the place really go out of their way to help you or address your needs. Excellent stay!
- Brian (10/5): The Number 1 Homestay on Cam Nam Island in Hoi An - Thuy ,Dong and children the perfect hosts.Service and friendliness superior to a 5 star hotel.Could not ask for more .Booked a riverview room that turned out to be a perfect place to relax after touring at different times during the day .The cool breeze most welcome.Communication was not a problem as alluded to by others providing a review.Amazingly if meals cooked Vietnamese way not to your liking Thuy welcomed you to the kitchen to either show her how to cook to your wishes or alternatively cook for yourself. All tourist information and taxi to and from airport arranged ,naturally at a cost.
About 800 mtrs from the township however it is a really pleasant stroll along the river path or the main road
- rich2585 (10/5): Fantastic authentic experience - I only stayed 1 night here and wish I had stayed longer. The family made this stay thoroughly enjoyable. The rooms are clean and have all you would expect but the real highlight is the kindness of the family. They provide authentic Vietnamese food and an insight into how a family lives as the location is near enough to the main attractions but in a Vietnamese area with few tourists. The service was excellent and I would thoroughly recommend staying here.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good service - The hotel provides bicycles you can use for free. The location is 10min by bike from the city center. But this is good and will make it possible for you to see a bit more of hoi an. The service is fantastic, and the family that runs this hotel is wonderful. It is not a luxury hotel, but it gives you the things you need. Will absolutely recommend. The breakfast is good with a couple alternatives.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Run by lovely family, made me very welcome. Located on quite and peaceful island on the river, little bit out I the way but free bicycle rental and beautiful location, would recommend.
