Trudy (10/5): - The family suite was a great option for us and is great for families. Bathroom (with a shower) in the middle with two bedrooms either side. One as a twin and one as a double. Everything was clean. Comms were clear re parking (getting the pass from reception) and we parked up easily. Check-in was simple and lady was very friendly. Staff in the morning were very welcoming at breakfast were very attentive and the breakfast was great. Walking distance to Blenheim palace so really convenient. Woodstock also lots of options to eat also had a lovely meal at the punch bowl.

Alison (10/5): Little Gem - A little Gem of an Inn, and the winner is it is very dog friendly. The room was big for 2 adults and 2 older children and a dog. Lovely decor and a great location. Service was great, we also eat an evening meal at the pub which was great after a day of exploring.
Jane (10/5): - Lovely old in with lots of character. A good location with on site parking which is rare in that area. Lovely large room, well decorated and a large comfy bed with good pillows. There was also a sofa and wooden chest as a coffee table, very bright and pleasant. The only suggestion I could make would be a swivel bracket on the TV so your can watch it in bed. The bathroom was lovely, nice and large with good fittings and an enormous shower with toiletries provided. A very good breakfast was provided, well worth £12.50 per person, which has to be booked on check in. I had the full English with "proper pork sausages" and plenty of toast to go with it all cooked by a lady with a beautiful voice singing whilst cooking in the kitchen. A continental breakfast was also available with fruit juices served by a very nice young man. There were little tables and chairs in the front where you could sit and people watch. All together a lovely pleasant place to stay and highly recommended. The inly improvement to be made was that there was only one person working the bar checking in guests and answering random questions so you were constantly disturbed whilst trying to check in but not a major issue. Overall, a lovely place to stay and very convenient for the shops, museum and Blenheim Palace.

The room had everything we needed. The beds were comfy and the location was convenient for everything. Staff were all friendly.

David (10/5): Lovely old village pub. - The Punch Bowl is a lovely old village pub, full of individual character and charm. Really welcoming and friendly staff, nice old bar, great food. It's right in the middle of Woodstock village, and just over the road from Marlborough Palace and grounds.

Nicola (10/5): Perfectly picked for our Blenheim & Oxford visit. - We had a lovely two night stay at The Punch Bowl with my teenage son and my elderly mum, in the family suite, with two separate rooms & shower room between the two. Tea and coffee facilities were provided (with coasters!) and were replenished when asked. The shower was a walk in, lovely & hot & the bathroom was a good size. The second bedroom, usually single beds, was made up into a double on request (for a tall teen). Each bedroom had a tv. There was limited hanging and drawer space so we lived out of our bags, a small cupboard is in the main bedroom, with a very small hanging area, but there are no deep drawers, only short drawer bedside tables. My only gripe was that there was nowhere to dry the towels. In the winter, with the heating on, I'm sure it would be fine, but with three people, three bath towels, floor towel and hand towel, we struggled to dry these for the next use. The staff in the bar were all very polite and very helpful. You have to walk through the bar to check in (and it was a very busy dinner time when we arrived so we had to wait a few minutes while food was being served, but we didn't mind) and the access to the rooms is either at the end of the bar, or through the back of the pub, through the car park. Ben on the bar found my mum a phone charger (much to her delight, thank you Ben!) was chatty and thorough when walking us through our stay. Parking is limited but does become available so don't panic. Traffic a little noisy. We enjoyed our stay

I would strongly recommend staying here.
Susan (10/5): Absolutely Perfect stay! - Absolutely wonderful stay. Every aspect of our stay was fantastic. Easy to find, great location. Parking available on site for our entire stay. Room (6) was gorgeous! Newly refurbished, everything we required. Comfy bed, wonderful bathroom with great shower. Radiator in bedroom and towel rail in bathroom giving great heat when required. Lovely shower, towels. Everything was spotless. All staff were so friendly and helpful. Fantastic food both at breakfast in the restaurant. A stones throw from Blenheim Palace. Great little town in Woodstock with a Co-Op express right opposite for anything you might need. Bus stop to Oxford a few yards from door. Can’t recommend highly enough. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

David (6/5): - The room we stayed in was excellent (room 5) considering the main road is close it was quiet. There was plenty of space and it had recently been refurbished with a well presented modern bathroom (Large shower) good heating large tv and a King sized bed as advertised. Parking can be an issue as there are limited spaces but there is a public car park very close. The food is good and the staff try really hard to please their customers but there are some issues that should be addressed. This is not a hotel it is a pub with rooms and it felt like the paying guests came second in a number of areas. Check in at 5pm is ludicrous even if you let them know you are going to be early and the check out time is 10am. That can be ok but they have to address how this is handled. I paid £225 for one night room only and got a value of around £100. Last orders in the bar on a Saturday night was 9:45pm as the bar closed and there are no facilities for residents. Breakfast needs to be ordered the night before by 8pm? The food supplied in the evening was good but we were hurried out of the restaurant area with the comment 'you can take your drink to your room'. Breakfast was the same good food pleasant service but as we approached 10am the staff were clearing our tables the coffee had run out and we were told they needed to start getting ready for lunch??? Would I stay there again the answer would be NO. They are charging premium hotel rates but they do not provide a hotel service.

tabitha (8/5): - Great location within walking distance of Blenheim Palace and multiple pubs/restaurants. Lovely area to explore. Newly renovated spacious room. Very friendly staff, great food. Brekkie was 7-9am. Still renovating communal areas left to be done but can see it will be lovely when finished. Parking was full but just down road there’s a massive car park within 100m.
laura (10/5): Lovely hotel at a great location - The hotel was lovely, the rooms were very nicely decorated and clean and the location was brilliant - a five minute walk to Blenheim palace, ten minute drive to bourton-on-the-water and 25 minutes from Oxford. Woodstock is also very pretty, with convenience shops, cafes and coffee shops all close by. We would definitely recommend and have already told out family about it! Thank you for a lovely stay.
Kim (10/5): A lovely place to stay. - A perfect location for meeting up with family. Newly refurbished rooms were very pleasant to stay in. Food was delicious. A small carpark but we fitted in. A busy village with Blenheim palace so nearby but we visited in late March so all was good for us. Very friendly welcome and great to be able to use Tesco vouchers towards the cost of the rooms.

kevin (10/5): A great place to stay! - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Punch Bowl. Free on site parking was a bonus, we were able to walk to Blenheim Palace and catch a bus into Oxford. Our room was spotlessly clean, with a maid coming in daily. Breakfast was delicious, as was dinner. Both very reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend.

Easy to find and plenty of restaurants around, the Punchbowl has great food. I was bought up in Oxford so know the area so it was an easy choice. Great family run bb.

Nancy (8/5): Our stay at the Punch Bowl - We really loved our stay. It was a very hot evening and we couldn't open the windows in the bedroom, however, although this is right in the centre of Woodstock, it is on a main road out of town where cars were driving fast to go out of town, so was a bit noisy. Just wish I had brought ear plugs and it would have been fine. Great, cosy room, large shower room, very clean and comfortable.

Darren (4/5): Disappointing - The room was clean and bright although the bathroom was in need of repairs. The service was sullen on check in with no welcome at all. The pub felt grubby and smelt really stale, clearly not used by locals as the bar was shut at 10pm on a Saturday night. We cancelled our breakfast as we didnt fancy eating in the lounge bar with the very unpleasant smell.
JOANNA (8/5): Comfortable Stay - Check-in was quick and easy as it is done by the bar staff. The rooms where spacious enough as a family room and although the beds where a bit squeaky when you rolled over, they where comfortable. The rooms where let down by the fact that some of the light bulbs didn't work, in particular in the closet and over the mirror in the bathroom and dresser area, and there where cobwebs on the ceiling - but more importantly the bedding and towels where clean. It's an old building on the main road through Woodstock so it is to be expected you are going to hear road noise. It was handy that there is private parking as Woodstock itself had nowhere to park as everywhere was full. Breakfast was fabulous - freshly cooked English breakfast. The breakfast menu was limited a cooked breakfasy but the staff where happy to accommodate the kids choices. Overall we had a comfortable, pleasant stay. Would we go back? Probably, but it wouldn't be our first choice as we have stayed in other establishments in Woodstock offerring a higher standard and better value for money.

But..the bedroom was boiling hot and the pillow wasn’t the comfiest. If I’d taken a bit more time, I could probably have sorted the heating so I’m possibly partially to blame. There was a fan so we used that during the evening to cool the room a bit.

It is after all a very old hotel. We ate at the hotel and the food was reasonably priced and delicious. Breakfast was good with an ample selection. The staff were friendly.

Verified traveler (8/5): - Everything I needed for my visit to Blenheim Palace, as the hotel is an easy 5 minute walk to the front gates. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was roomy and comfortable. The wi-fi was spotty. Car park was a plus. The breakfast was excellent. Ate dinner there two evenings and the food was good. I would definitely stay here again, although I would bring a pair of slippers to wear in the room next time...because the only downside was that the halls, stairs and rooms could use a good cleaning as you could see the dirt in the carpets.

John (2/5): - The place smelt horrible as soon as we walked in, the carpets are filthy, the seats were broken and needed replacing and the staff were next to useless. No wonder the Friday and sat nights we stayed the place was empty when the rest of Woodstock was bouncing. It seems that whoever owns / manages the place is incapable or just not bothered.

Adequate for a short stay as the furniture and furnishings looked outdated and very bad WiFi which kept disconneting. One bed was so squeaky every time you moved it woke us up. Perfect location for Blenheim palace.
Carolyn (8/5): Close to Blenheim Palace - Very friendly pub, ideally positioned for going to Blenheim Palace. The twin room was very comfy and on the back so very quiet. The car park is very small and I happily parked in a 24 hour car park very nearby with a police station on one side. Dinner menu was good pub food and breakfast options were also very good.
Steven (6/5): Nice visit to Blenheim Palace - I am always a little skeptical about taking photos of a hotel at face value. Obviously, the hotel wants to show the best side of its business. In this case, I was somewhat correct. The room was much smaller than the photos led me to believe and too expensive for the size. Priced like a large name hotel like Hilton. But it was clean and well suited for my purpose. It was hot in the room with no air conditioner. I had the fan going all night but it didn’t help much. The breakfast was very good and the staff were helpful. All in all, a good stay. They could stand to clean the hallway carpets as they were black from years of use. I would probably stay there again if the price were lower.
JOHN (2/5): Dirty and disappointed!! - This was the dirtiest, most unprofessional Inn I have ever stayed at. Prices charged were at the London Savoy rates, and the whole place was in need of a deep thorouigh clean. Everywhere was dirty. To say the carpets were dirty is a gross understatement. Breakfast was very poor, and the beds were cheap and very uncomfortable. |No windows could be opened in the bedroom, and the door wouldn/t lock. Parking is for about 4 small cars. Would never stay there again.

Elizabeth (6/5): - Bathroom in poor condition- Room 6 the flooring was loose and moved under our feet. The sealant needed renewing, the panelling below the sink and toilet rusty and rotting. Good breakfast, comfortable bed. Staff great.
Judy (8/5): - Room very nice and very clean. No elevator , parking limited but Library car park nearby. Assistant Manager helpful in providing gluten and dairy free items for dinner, but no dairy free milk or gluten free bread available for breakfast. Room 6 pleasant and quiet.
Verified traveler (8/5): Affordable - value for money. - Not the poshest place in town (Woodstock is a sought after destination) but close to Blenheim Palace in terms of proximity! The food is good value and the home made pies are fantastic. Rooms are fine but ours was a bit too close to the road for comfort. Staff very helpful. Car parking a real asset.

Debbie (8/5): Convenient for Oxford - Stayed here as convenient for picking up daughter from Oxford. In the centre of Woodstock on the main road so a little noisy during the daytime. Check in quick and room 4 comfortable and a reasonable size. Breakfast was good a mixture of cold buffet and a choice of cooked food. Good as an overnight stop.
Verified traveler (8/5): - Excellent location for Blenheim Palace, a very short walk. One thing to note, by no means a negative for the Inn, but be aware that breakfast is a very hearty cooked breakfast, toast and cereals only. No yoghurt, croissants etc.
