S (10/5): Perfect position on the Path - Ideal for Thames Path walkers with a splendid garden overlooking the start of the navigable Thames. Chances are you'll get here early after the relatively short walk from Cricklade, so enjoy the bar and food offerings in the spacious pub building. The room was a comfortable twin with everything you need for an overnight stay, while being across the car park from the pub itself, so noise was not a problem. If you're thinking of making an early start in the morning for the longer stage to Newbridge, better to get a bacon roll from Budgens on the High Street, as breakfast is from 9am.

Philip (4/5): Poor customer service and no room soundproofing. - The location was very nice. The room was clean and well presented. Unfortunately there was zero soundproofing between rooms therefore we could hear all conversations, tv, shower, toilet flushing and unfortunately snoring all night from next door. The service in the restaurant was particularly poor on one occasion when we had the cheek to ask for chips with the lasagne rather than garlic bread. I was told in no uncertain terms how garlic bread was cheaper therefore we couldn’t get chips, despite the other meal we ordered having chips with it, so all that was required was to throw a few extra in the fryer. They need to work on their customer service. The bed wasn’t the most comfortable, but didn’t sleep anyway due to the constant noises from next door, not to mention the bin lorry arriving early morning right outside the window which faced the car park.

Robert (10/5): Impromptu 2 night stay - Stayed 2 nights at the riverside inn room 1a was spacious and very clean. Large shower with instant hot water. Very comfy bed and very peaceful and quiet. During our stay the weather was 26° and it was great to sit by the river enjoying the food. We had visited a few years previously just for a drink and had promised we would return and stay. It didn't let us down and we will return in the future.

Verified traveler (8/5): Gentle and relaxing - Out of season, and we just managed to get a meal when we arrived, as they stopped serving a 5 pm and closed the bar at about 7 pm on Sunday. This was not well communicated by Hotels.com. But overall it is a very nice location, situated on the river and in Lechlade. Access to the Thames path was very easy and we enjoyed the walks. The room (Windrush) was very nice and well appointed. This was the second time we had stayed in this Inn. The staff were as friendly as every and the service and meals were good. We would recommend this Inn to all.

Gary (8/5): Pleasant stay by the river Thames - Enjoyed our stay on a hot summer evening by the Thames, having an excellent meal from the pubs kitchen. Even with a coach load of 20 people who arrived just before me, our meals were delivered in only 30 mins, well done. Had a bit of problem trying to open the windows in this hot night, but the manager was very helpful in assisting.

This was not the only inconvenience with the food as breackfast is not available on most weekdays either. We decided to find somewhere else to eat but quickly found out local restaurants do not open on Mondays. Although the room had been recently refurbished, we found that the shower shelf was poorly finished, shower hose encrusted with limescale, light fittings very dirty, plenty of co webs and all coners of the room looked as though they had not been cleaned properly. The blind did not fully cover the window and from the bed you could clearly see outside so anyone outside could easily see you. However the staff were very helpful and friendly and the food was amazing.

Verified traveler (6/5): Inflexible Frontdesk - Rooms and beds were good. No mirror in the bathroom. Kitchen sink was gross, not cleaned, not that we wanted to cook. Note - No food in the restaurant after 10pm or before 9am (or 10). What made the experience not so great was that the frontdesk’s inflexibility - they wouldn’t give me water bottles and charge it the room after 10pm. Though I am staying there, they can’t put it on the tab or keep a tab or take the payment. I even mentioned, write it down and I will pay when I check out, nope. They just can’t comprehend someone is asking for water bottles after 10pm. The girl was so rude. Wouldn’t think outside the box.

Comfortable bed good size tv good shower and plentiful supplies of toiletries and tea and coffee etc. Town very pretty and peaceful with a few more nice pubs all about 4 minutes walk away.

Unfortunately the walls are extremely thin and I could hear everything in the room next door. This made it quite unsettling at night as every time they opened their door for the bathroom, it sounded like they were opening my door. There was also no extra lock or chain on the inside of the room door which I didn’t feel comfortable with.
Sarah (2/5): Poor service and falsely advertised. - Really unimpressed. There are 4 options to book. Single, double, twin and quad rooms. All are named as "rooms" however on the app when booking the quad room pictures show three interconnecting rooms, a living area, a twin and a double room. This is why I booked. Travelling with my young daughter and elderly mother we needed the separate sleeping areas. Upon check in, 2 people at the bar in front of me, so I waited patiently for the staff to get to me. When it came to being at the front of the queue they started pouring drinks for punters sat on a table near to this that had not left their seats, yet were being served before. No, "we'll be with you in a minute" or anything. No acknowledgement at all. Once I had the key and we made our way across the car park to get settled, I open the door to our accommodation to find one large room with two single beds and a double. Not at all what was advertised on the app at time of booking. I go to speak to staff and they explain they have 2 quad rooms. The 1 pictured online and the 1 they put us in. They could not move us as had other people in the other room. I took this up with Hotels.com via chat and found them no help whatsoever. As we had "booked just one room" Hotels.com uninterested in the false advertisement on their site. There was a boiler whirring in the room which meant none of us slept. window wide open yet all of us too hot. The bathroom was in a horrid state. mould and very poorly cleaned. I could go on.

My son loved all the biscuits and the little room with the single bed in. In the morning we went to the pub for breakfast and it was one of the best breakfasts I’d had in a long while.

Line (8/5): - We stayed in Leach 1 - absolutely beautiful room - bed was so comfortable and there was a great selection of teas, coffees and biscuits. The area is lovely as well. Only negative was the Wi-Fi and tv connection was awful and at times non-existent.
Verified traveler (4/5): Wouldn’t really recommend - Honestly, I wasn’t expecting 5 star but clean is the bare minimum and quite frankly it wasn’t. The bath/shower being dirty is not reassuring. If guests have access to something like a boiler cupboard (leading from the bathroom) then there shouldn’t be rubbish all over the floor of it. The mattress was incredibly thin and they had tried to make it better by a mattress topper (that could have been a duvet tbh) that did not fit so did not really help the situation. Unknowingly I was late for check in as the info I was provided from hotels.com advised check was open much later than it is on a Sunday so I do appreciate the member of staff staying later for us to collect keys. The staff were friendly. It was the condition/cleanliness of the rooms that was not good enough.

The room we stayed in was overall good .could have done with a little TLC, especially the radiator in the bathroom . That definitely needed a coat of paint . Mattress was a little on the soft side for us . No hair dryer ( not sure if they had one we could have borrowed from reception ) Plenty of tea and coffee in room along with biscuits too ! We found everything quite adequate fir our 2night stay and would stay again another time .

Verified traveler (6/5): Fine if you are walking the Thames Path - The only reason you would stay here is for a convenient place to collapse after a long stretch of the Thames Path. It was fine and this area of the country is expensive so you don't get much for your money. Clean enough, a bit shabby, we didn't bother with the food at the pub as there is an excellent BYO booze curry house close by where the food is really good.

Verified traveler (6/5): - Great location. The potential for the "rooms" to be a great self catering flat was wasted. Would have been so much better for us if the kitchenette had been usable with working cooker, fridge, crockery and cutlery

andrew (2/5): Dont stay here !! - There was no breakfast even though the booking was included. There was no remote for tv so could not watch, the toilet was dirty!!
Andrew (10/5): riverside Thames pub with rooms in old village. - Friendly riverside pub with rooms and free parking too. Very welcoming and friendly. Due to Covid restrictions excellent breakfast in cafe around the corner. Large rooms and comfortable pub lodging.
Emma (6/5): nice place, nice setting but poor customer service - We booked this hotel stay which included breakfast in the booking. when we arrived we were told they were not doing breakfast! They told me we could go to a few breakfast places down the road in town or we could have a small dry breakfast bag brought to our rooms in the morning but we would have to pay extra for it! Eventually after reiterating several times that we have already paid for breakfast they agreed we could have the breakfast bag without paying extra but that only materialised on the first morning and we received nothing the second morning. This is very poor customer service, there should have been no question about providing an alternative if they were not doing there hot breakfasts for Whatever reason (They were doing food the rest of the day I might add) or they could have contacted people who booked beforehand and told them they were now unable to provide a breakfast and offered them a discount on there booking or the ability to cancel. I really was quite shocked by there attitude to this. Apart from that the hotel itself is in a very pleasant setting by the water in a nice village with some nice walks nearby and easy access to the rest of the Cotswolds. We had dinner there one night overlooking the water which was nice.
Mike (4/5): - Great location next to River Thames, however on check in we were put in a smaller room than we booked on Expedia, one without a fridge that we were relying on to store perisables we had with us without an adiquite explanation. No Wi-Fi in room, only decaf coffee sachets, no milk not even uht, can only assume not replenished. Bathroom not overly clean, toilet, sink and shower screen coated with limescale. Extractor fan filthy with dust. No shampoo only body wash provided again can only presume not replenished. No breakfast provided as advertised on Expedia
