- lorenas106 (2/5): cancelled our reservation because they got a better offer - I just received a call from the hotel telling me they have cancelled my reservation for June 2025. When I asked for an explanation, he initially refused to tell me, but when pressed admitted that they had received a request for a large block of rooms, so they were cancelling my reservation to accommodate the request. I advised him that I had booked this 7 months ago, as we are travelling across Canada this summer, and asked if he could help me to keep the reservation. He said that he couldn't do that. Brutal.

- Ali (2/5): - I agree with all of the one-star reviews. In addition to what others have mentioned, my room’s heating unit wasn’t working, even though the outside temperature was -16°C. This place is poorly maintained, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. I regret not checking the reviews before booking. However, the front desk staff were friendly and helpful. I thought it was important to leave this review to inform others to stay away from this place.
- Rui Paulo (6/5): - We stayed there from January 11 to the 12th. Hotel was okay, room was okay, bed and pillow very comfortable. What to say about our stay, VERY noisy. A groupe of people were going from one room to another during the night, slamming the doors and talking loudly. Doors are not soundproof. We were on the 3rd floor. Early morning, they were talking on the phone, on speaker and walking up and down the hall. I got out of the room, 2 times asking to keep quit. At 8:50 am, the music was loud in the room across, I recorded and showed the reception. People have no respect!!!

- Megan (6/5): Certainly not the Ritz - I attended the theatre in Toronto and wasn't willing to spend $400+ for a downtown hotel just for a bed to sleep in. So, I took the GO train in from Oshawa where I booked the La Quinta. Arriving at the hotel, I parked in the lot out back, but couldn't get in the back door so had to walk through a dark lot and around the block to the front door at 11:30 pm. Had I known I would have stopped out front to check-in and then brought my suitcase in through the back door which I could then open with my room key. It is an old outdated building and the hallways appear very run down and dirty looking and I was thinking I'd made a mistake. However I was relieved to find the room clean and respectable enough. The furniture was older and somewhat worn and the mattress soft from long use, but I wasn't expecting the Ritz at that price. There was an updated shower and both the towels and bedding smelled clean (bleach). I only slept about 5 hours, waking at 6 so checked out the "breakfast". I'm not a fan of sugary boxed cereal so I left and picked up breakfast from Tim Hortons before making the long drive home. Would I stay again, hmmm, maybe not, but for the few hours use it was ok.

- latoyab199 (2/5): Laquinta experience total nightmare! - We've had a very bad experience with the "Manager" Guyan. Very rude and unprofessional. And the hotel looks like a homeless shelter and no more then that. Carpets are very dirty and falling to pices. Decor of the room looks like is from 70's. TV channels are very limited and the breakfast was terrible.
- David (2/5): - This was probably the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The property itself looks like it should be condemned. The hallway floors bounce when you walk on them. The elevator smelled of vomit. I'm pretty sure the facility is being used for government subsidized housing of migrants. People were walking the halls, knocking on doors and socializing in the halls until well past midnight. The shower was so small I was unable to get in the shower and close the door without flattening myself against the wall and dragging the door across my body, and I'm not a big person. There was a bag from MacDonald's left in the mini fridge filled with old food. It was so bad that I got up and left at 1 AM. I'm shocked Wyndham would allow their name to be used on a property this bad.

I had to check in all over again at the front desk. Since it was late at night. I’d really hoped to just pick up my key and go to my room as advertised in ‘advance check’. I won’t stay at La Quinta again.

- Verified traveler (4/5): - This hotel is advertised as a very nice place and priced similar to others however, both the room and washroom were very small, dark, and unkempt and had a musty odour to it. The door at the end of the hall slammed all night as people came in and out continuously. The floors were so thin I could hear people walking above me all night long. Hotel is definitely is in need of updating or needs to charge a much lower price per night. If you have children and/or are a family, I definitely recommend that you do not stay at this hotel.

- Goodfoodheather (2/5): Disgusting hotel. - Disgusting business ethics I had booked eight months ago and because there is a big competition down the road they ended up telling me that they had an evacuation and had to cancel my reservations that I had booked through Expedia. They are trying to jump up the prices and screw the people that had booked months earlier. just like what they did in Niagara Falls with the eclipse. After reading all the reviews on how disgusting the places it probably works out better that we didn’t stay there to get cockroaches and bedbugs.

- Daniel (2/5): La quinta whats going on with you? - I reserved a two bed room and the day of the stay I was given a call to tell me that for maintenance reasons that room is not available. So I should book elsewhere or they’d give me a 1 bed plus another little baby bed. The price however remained the same and nothing not even sorry or here is some credit back. I should have book elsewhere because the hotel is pure trash. Are standard that low in the tourist industry? That hotels this bad are allowed to operate. Don’t let me tell you about breakfast a total joke of dry slop.

- Trevor (4/5): - dents in the walls, and I had ordered a handicapped suite, and the 1st 2 they offered when I arrived were NOT handicapped friendly, and even the one that I took was treacherous in the shower, the bench seat in the shower should be wider and deeper and the shower floor was slick when wet, and there were no facecloths available for the whole weekend, the television stations were limited to national broadcasts, no local stations, and the floors in the hallways are not level, really strange, and a foul solvent odour coming from the basement that was toxic. and their breakfast was from 7:30 til 9am, but they packed up 5-10 mins before 9am.. overall, not impressed, and backdoor was ajar a lot so no security... do not think I will go back there, and I think there might have been bedbugs, brought home some interesting bites on my legs

The rooms are extremely small. Go anywhere else. I've had better experience at motels than I did in this place

- Roam550202 (2/5): Disaster at the Quinta. - A Horrible hotel.. very noisy, filthy. The staff is completely useless. They offer a small, scary parking lot in a construction zone. A crack head was standing in the entrance!!!! They lost our reservation...a real hole...once upon a time. It was great...now a run down dump ..do not stat stay there!! Thank God!! holiday inn express saved the day...for twice the price...lol...

- Shannon (2/5): - This hotel is downtown Oshawa and right beside a bar. And apparently a men’s hostel or homeless shelter. We arrived late - midnight on a Friday of a long weekend. There were lots of people hanging around outside the hotel. Plus a lot of people hanging out at the back door of the hotel where the parking lot is - inside and out. We had to walk around the bar to front of hotel from parking lot to check in. Most people we encountered were drunk or high and very loud. We felt unsafe outside the hotel and inside the hallway and even in our room. It is an old building and paper thin walls with even the slightest movement- walking in the room above or talking anywhere can be heard in our room. Probably a great place if you want to party and be up all night. The safest area I felt was in the lobby because there was a person at the desk and it was locked. The staff were friendly and helpful though. I slept a bit better knowing that the lobby was locked and there was a front desk person there. The back door was just down from our room though and people were coming a going from though. Rough night and a ridiculous price on Expedia for what we got. We did not stay the second night and were not able to cancel because we got there so late cause of our flight.That coupled with my disaster of a car rental booking (flight delayed so rental company (economy car rentals at Pearson) canceled my PREPAID rental. My Expedia experience this trip has been awful. Not happy with this hotel or Expedia.

The property felt like I was in a halfway house, with stained walls, and broken bits everywhere. Check in and check out was extremely slow. Not sure if the place was unclean or poorly maintained. The place smelled like really poor quality cleaner covered up with an air freshener. No one should ever stay here. Sleep in your car, you'll be glad you did. Even at $100 the value is unbelievably bad.

However, when we complained about the booming music and loud bass that permeated our room, we were informed that the noise was from the adjacent bar, which should stop at about 2 a.m. We were not offered another room.

- H966KVamandas (2/5): After giving credit card at check in card was frauded. - Our credit card was frauded x 3 following check in and giving credit card at counter. It went on for three days, three separate charges. We only used our card for this purpose within that time period.. It totalled about 300 CAD. We hve not been able to use our card for more than three weeks because of investigation and having to wait on a new card. Horrible experience.

Not enough sport channels for this time of year. Staff said just google the games on your device. Couldn't get Baseball game or NHL playoffs. Didn't want to sit in the Madrocks bar attached to hotel. Parking lot is very small making parking not easy for late arrivals.

- Titilayo (2/5): - They would debit your card for damages without consulting you..I was charged $60 xtra for spilling coffee on a face towel without consulting me and this is aside the $250 bond withheld from my card. When i saw the debit and asked why there was an unauthorized debit of $60 on my card, I was told I damaged their ‘used face towel’. Manager said ‘that is their policy and nothing can be done, I can report to head office if I want. Anyways. am never going there again and I will tell anyone I come across never to patronize them again. Might mean nothing to them but that is what am going to be doing from now on. I spent 3 days in the hotel FYI.

- MARIO (6/5): - property needs to be updated and refreshed. Neighbor hood uncomfortible. Loud hallway noise till 2:30 AM.
- Veronica (8/5): Good for Price - A good little room for the price, honestly nicer than I was expecting. There was a rip in the carpet near the bathroom door, a dresser handle was broken & our mini fridge was either broken or not plugged in. Those are all the Negatives really. Our phone did ring at 6:30am though and we didn’t ask for a wakeup call so maybe mute your phone if you stay here. Everything in the Free breakfast was good except for the eggs, so if you stay here I would avoid them. The Fitness centre was small but I was still able to get my workouts in that I needed. Overall would recommend if your looking for an affordable room.

- Joyomolabake (8/5): Home away from home - I stayed for 17 nights with my family and it felt like home away from home. At the reception was John, many thanks for all your assistance and understanding. Stay was warm and cozy especially with the likes of Samantha, Angie. I love you both, many thanks for being there. - Marko (6/5): - Parking was very limited and neighbouring property has very loud music every night until 2am. Not a good location if you want to get some rest.
- Joe (4/5): - Had to park a block away. Floors creek when people walk by. Cable channels were different from room to room and popular channels not available. Not a place Id recommend or stay at. Breakfast was ok
- TysonHerriman (6/5): Meh but location is good - Meh, good location if you are hitting a concert and you aren’t fussy. Shower was terrible, low pressure, shower door had a huge gap so you’ll need to put a towel on the floor. Room was small, floor was creaky in the room and the hall, building is old. Not much parking so get there early if you want a spot. That being said it was pretty clean, and comfortable. Staff was friendly. Few places close to eat open late. Didn’t check out the breakfast. It was perfect for me because I was alone and it was very close to concert. It was worth it for me. I would stay again if I was by myself.

- Indah2014 (4/5): Rooms are clean - This La Quinta Inn is a small and older Inn downtown Oshawa. This is an older building with thin walls and floors. If this Inn fits your budget and the location is where you need to be, then it can be a good choice. The rooms are clean, not modern but clean. This is an older place. The main issue is that its located next to bars so you can hear very loud music during weekend stay. Limited Parking is available behind the building and more free offsite parking on the other side of the street. The rooms are clean.

- Christina (6/5): - Better than we expected for the reviews, but overpriced for what you get. We booked out of desperation on a busy tournament weekend where nothing else was available elsewhere. We were worried after the reviews looked scary, but overall it wasn’t as bad as we expected. The bedding was clean but not much else was. We checked for bedbugs and seemed to be clear. There was a white powder on the bedside table which is concerning…god knows what that might have been and it’s not hard to wipe down surfaces between quests. The rooms are VERY small but do the trick. The beds are decent but super crunchy and loud due to all the extra mattress protector layers (I’m assuming due to the frequent reviews about bed bugs…so definitely worth the trade off). The parking is a serious problem and the “free parking” claim is a bit if a false advertisement since their lot was full as well as all the nearby lots. It’s not a great area to walk a distance at night. The fridge worked but was noisy and was at first not very cold, then later froze our food (we didn’t touch the settings). We were there with a group and they kindly offered us the breakfast area to go sit downstairs where we wouldn’t bother other guests. The breakfast was super basic but did the trick. Overall we were pleasantly surprised as our expectations were a solid 1 star hotel.
- sasha (6/5): - It’s old, rooms are small, doesn’t give you a good feeling. Staff was very friendly, but the ambiance is not good. Parking is awful, you have to park across the street and their parking is limited. Unfortunately, I would not stay here again.

- jaspreet (2/5): - The room was too small, heater with the fan was dirty and noisy , no air circulation , damp.
- Dan (4/5): - We asked for a room with a bathtub as last time we had only a shower and there was no bath plug so we had to buy a bath plug to use the tub, construction going on outside our door in the hallway all day long breakfast was very very minimal and the room was anything but clean
- Kelly (10/5): - Clean rooms, everything one would need in a hotel stay. Nothing extravagant but excellent room rate is appreciated.
- Tara (2/5): - Avoid this hotel. We’ve stayed in many hotels and this was the worst! Here’s the list of reasons: - I booked for 3 nights. Not once did housekeeping come in to clean/empty garbage/freshen linens or towels. - at check in I was told to park on the street because their lot was full. I did. I got a ticket and the hotel staff were rude and wouldn’t honour their mistake. - parking in the area is awful. They don’t have enough spots to accommodate their guests. I will avoid this chain of hotels going forward.
- Nick (4/5): - The manager Guyan, is very rude. I witnessed him yell at customers and staff on two separate occasions. Very unprofessional.
