• Anna (10/5): - The pool villa was perfect for our little honeymoon getaway! The rainforest view is beautiful and the villa has everything you need. A breakfast hamper is provided and we loved the fresh croissants delivered to our door every morning. Sitting in the heated pool listening to the sounds of the birds and the flowing creek made the stay extra relaxing and magical!
• 423kristiv (10/5): Amazing romantic retreat - Absolutely loved our two-night Romance package. Every aspect was tailored to cultivate a tranquil, sumptuously relaxing experience. The cabin was beautiful, with a gorgeous array of artwork and textures. Soft lighting, candles, and beautifully scented products, against a rainforest background created a beautiful setting. All the food was gourmet, with freshly baked croissants delivered every morning. Service was attentive, with all requests fulfilled. We also enjoyed a couples' massage conveniently in our room. If you are looking for a private and indulgent retreat, definitely come here.

It was our first child free weekend in a very long time and we really enjoyed our stay. The villa was lovely and the massages were incredibly relaxing. Highly recommend a package here well worth it.
• 436christinao (10/5): Beautiful experience with lots of thoughtful touches - We loved our stay here so much, and felt so well looked after by Ali and Xochi. It was full of thoughtful touches, from locally grown products through to the daily delivery of home-baked croissants. All the appliances and creature comforts are high quality, and there’s lots of consideration given to sustainability. The heated magnesium plunge pool was an added bonus! Would recommend this to anyone.

• adoyley88 (10/5): Exceptional stay at Narrows Escape - My husband and I had 2 nights at Narrows Escape in March 2026. We stayed in the Cockatoo villa and the entire experience was exceptional. Communication with Xochi and Ali was simple, and they provided a lot of helpful information about the area and things to do/see. The villa was gorgeous, with all the amenities you would want. The breakfast hamper was very generous and the homemade croissants were the best we've ever had. It was a perfect relaxing, private and luxurious escape.

The area around Narrow Escapes - so much to do, or not to do depending on you. The bed was super comfortable, the plunge pool and the morning birds. Loved it!
• BushcamperD (10/5): Private and Luxurious - Our stay at the Narrows Escape Rainforest Retreat was flawless. We stayed in the Cockatoo Luxury Pool Villa for two nights and only wish that we had stayed for longer. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the incredibly friendly staff who remained attentive and accommodating throughout our stay, even dropping us into town when we needed. The room itself was stunning and spotless- incredibly elegant but also full of cozy creature comforts and treats. Having the private plunge pool and large deck set against the rainforest backdrop was very relaxing, as was the spa bath and indoor fire place. We added the Romantic Cocoon Package as part of our stay which included evening meals and copious amounts of alcohol, all of which were of exceptionally high quality. The breakfast hamper and freshly baked croissants was also fabulous and showcased local produce. We also sampled the cocktails which did not disappoint! This is a really private and quiet location so is perfect for if you want to have a romantic weekend and to switch off in a luxurious setting. The surrounding town of Montville is also lovely, with lots of walks and cute shops, cafes and bars near by. We could not recommend staying here more.
• P6685JIlauram (10/5): Lovely secluded and relaxing stay - We stayed for 2 nights in the pool villa on our Babymoon. Incredible experience, easy check in and out, villa was spotless. Pool at the perfect temperature. Breakfast was lovely with fresh eggs and bacon, and croissants every morning. Felt very secluded, the deck and villa were looking out into the rainforest and we could barely see anyone. Seemed to have thought of everything you could want - separate face towels for makeup removal, insect spray, small dishwasher, real coffee machine, everything needed for cooking. Only thing for me was the open plan bathroom which I’m not a fan of but given how perfect everything else was it didn’t really affect the enjoyment of our stay.
• robynp738 (10/5): Magical rainforest stay - Narrows Escapes is magical. Set in a beautiful rainforest , the cabins are private and contain everything you need. Our cabin had an outside magnesium pool as well as a two person spa bath in side. The owners have thought of everything here. We purchased salmon hamper to bbq ourselves and a breakfast hamper was included. Fresh croissants were delivered every morning, hanging on our deck waiting for us when we woke. The cabins are tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. Quality towels and bedding too! We loved our stay at Narrows!
• Trip12363 (10/5): Relaxation, value and location - The location allows you to enjoy Montville shopping, however, once we arrived the atmosphere, clean room, noise of the birds and many animals. Everything is provided including some beautiful surprises on arrival from the amazing Hosts - who helped organised everything for us before we arrived - including offsite (including transport) and on-site dinners and drinks. This place is a 10/10 relaxation and value for money retreat.

• K3316IUdianeh (10/5): My favourite place in the world - We absolutely love Narrows, especially Cockatoo, it is our favourite villa, with a private pool. This is our little sanctuary to get away to when feeling the pressure of everyday life. It brings us back into balance as it has a calm, peaceful ambience, you can literally feel the energy coming off the trees, taking away your stress. The food is wonderful, the king parrots and dove that come to visit are beautiful. The little extra's they supply to make you feel welcome is awesome, as they are such lovely people. I would live there if I could, but if you get the chance to experience Narrows we highly recommend it, you will not be disappointed.

Our luxury villa had such a good atmosphere and it was so well curated, spotless and more relaxing than i thought it would be. Every cent was worth it, thank you to the owners!
• smnthd2026 (10/5): Perfection!! - during our first visit in 2024, we thought this place was amazing. we have never been at a place before where so much was provided for the guests and to have a breakfast hamper that lasts our stay is amazing, and the offer for it to be topped up if needed is very generous. the owners have honestly tried to think of everything to make each person's stay comfortable and something to truly remember. we loved this place so much we rebooked again in 2025 and boy were we blown away again. our stay was even better than the stay before. this time we ordered some bbq dinner hampers and far out - i can tell you now they are worth more than you actually pay. the meat was the best we have had, so fresh and everything else exceeded our expectations. we cant wait for our next stay. Attention to detail from the decor to the amenities to the food. From the massage to the home cooked dinner we ordered, we really felt like new people after our stay. Ali & Xochi are gracious hosts and they really have created something special. We highly recommend and we will certainly be back.

This is our second time there…the setting feels private and restorative, the cabins are well appointed and the owners, Ali and Xochi are warm and attentive and always happy to help…and the delicious home baked croissants deserve a special mention too - yum, thank you! It’s easy to quickly slip into the relaxed feel of the place…. Highly recommend…. we will be recommending it to family and friends…and we will be back!

Candles… chocolates and cocktails… fresh flowers… all in a beautiful rainforest villa where you can sit on the deck and listen to the sounds of birds and the wind through the trees. From the moment we entered our villa we knew we were in for a relaxed time in this very private villa. Private pool, gorgeous bathroom, amazing views and very private. The breakfast hamper was amazing and plentiful. Fresh croissants left hanging outside our door each morning. We used the pool daily and we really unwound from our normally busy lives. Walks, visits to hamlets for coffee, meals or shopping. Loads of swimming holes local to the area. We spent 4 beautiful nights at Narrows and loved every moment. We ordered the couples massage which was divine. They came to our villa which made us feel very relaxed. Highly recommend this place if you want something extra special.
• I8180KClindaa (10/5): A rainforest retreat with all the special little touches - I have just had such a wonderful five days at Narrows Escape. I stayed in White Cockatoo villa and enjoyed a verandah with complete privacy and an uninterrupted view into the forest from where I could enjoy watching the comings and goings of the birds and animals within. Ali and Xochi are kind and attentive hosts - they were incredibly helpful in planning my time and equally so during my stay. Narrows organised a morning guided rainforest hike for me and sound healing and meditation sessions. All of which I would highly recommend. There’s something particularly special about experiencing the latter two on the deck with a gentle warm breeze and the sounds of the rainforest in the background. On my own I explored the Eumundi markets, Mary Cairns Reserve, Montville and Maleny - at which I was lucky enough to spot a platypus on my second attempt. Within the villa it is clear that Ali and Xochi have really thought about what makes a perfect stay including breakfast and dinner hampers, seed to feed the birds, a real coffee maker, BBQ and the early morning delivery of those croissants! Thank you, I left feeling refreshed but also filled with unique and memorable experiences.

Our accommodation was excellent surrounding us was rainforest and birds singing. Ali and Xochi were wonderful, friendly and accommodating hosts. My wife borrowed a book from the office and read it on our stay. If you are looking for a relaxing, comfortable stay make sure you try Narrows Escape!
• km693 (10/5): A magical place for a break. - We stayed two nights in the beautiful Black Cockatoo villa and wished we’d been able to stay for longer. The design, appointments and setting of the accommodation are all very special indeed and make for a restful stay in the rainforest. Hosts are very welcoming and accommodating and provide a variety of tailored food and beverage options to enhance your visit. There is also plenty to do in the local area.

This time we got the Girls Weekend away package & it was amazing. Ali & Xochi arranged everything for us from the dinner at the local pub with transfers to the massages in our Wsgtail Villa to the Hi-tea at Secrets on the Lake on check out. I love the Wagtail Villa & stay in it everytime. Love being up high in the rainforest hearing all the sounds of the wild life. The special touches in the villas are well thought out & the breakfast hamper is plentiful & wow those croissants... OMG!

We were met with fresh roses, cheese platter and wonderful breakfast hamper. Warm fresh croissants arrived each morning and each night we had a cosy fire to enjoy. There was a Tesla charger on site for my car and the area abounds with amazing scenery, walks and beautiful little towns. You just have to stay a few days!

As soon as I walked into our room I was met with calming music, a beautiful breakfast hamper with many options, a spa bath, one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in, as well as much much more. They even give you a pot of seed so you can feed the birds in the morning! It is clear that the owners are so passionate about delivering the best experience to each and everyone of the guests they have staying with them. They constantly go above and beyond ensuring that guests get the absolute best out of their time at the retreat. By the time came that we had to depart, I really didn’t want to leave! I would highly recommend to anyone wishing to stay here, without a second thought. P.s the morning croissants and biscuits were amazing!

We especially enjoyed having our own private pool, such a peaceful spot to relax and take in the tranquility of the rainforest. It was exactly what we needed: calm, romantic, and rejuvenating. Prior to our arrival, our hosts kindly helped in organising a transfer to a local restaurant for lunch before we checked in. We arrived early at the property (which we prearranged) and our room was ready prior to our lunch (much earlier than the 3pm check in time). We were shown to our room by Ali who kindly showed us around. It was beautiful! Everything you could need was provided as well as a welcome cocktail, cheese plate and breakfast hamper! Fresh croissants were delivered each morning and we loved being able to make coffee in our room with the awesome Breville machine. Although we kept to ourselves during our stay I was made to feel like nothing would be a problem by our hosts. The villa was so peaceful and private. The pool was heated beautifully and we loved the double fireplace and relaxing bath tub. Can’t wait to go back to this property - highly recommend! Thank you Ali and Xochi!

I could go on and on, the beautiful fireplace, we wanted to stay in for dinner and we were so grateful they offered a BBQ dinner pack YUM, we had the heated pool which was so relaxing. From the beautiful accommodation, plunge pool, fireplace and relaxing on the rear patio watching birds (feeding them), possums (feeding them too) and the sensational scenery. The room is located deep within the bush and is very private. From the time we arrived at the reception to the time that we checked out it was such a care free and pleasant place to stay. The owners Ali and Xochi are incredible down to earth people who know how to tailor the experience perfectly 👌 From breath taking rainforest cabins to 5-star home cooked meals delivered to your door. Not to mention the extra miles they go to, like having a cold beverage waiting for you after a hike in the Sunshine Coast when they pick you up at the other end of the trail. They had the cabin perfectly set up for our couples hiking holiday. With cocktails and candles on arrival with a cheese platter to enjoy. Every day, we even got to enjoy home cooked, restaurant quality, packed meals for our hikes. We can't wait to come back and do it all again. Im so glad we chose to stay at Narrows Escape

It is spacious, with a nice selection of food in the breakfast hamper, and the hosts offered to refill it for us if needed (there was also a card in the hamper stating the same thing). The freshly baked croissants each morning was a lovely touch and they were delicious. By nature of being in a rainforest and surrounded by tall trees, the rooms are quite dark, however it's amazing how well each cabin feels so secluded and quiet. We had a gorgeous view of a creek and saw some lovely birds, including two Australian king parrots. Thank you to Xochi & Ali for such a great few days.
• lisalL9060GO (10/5): Most Luxurious and Romantic Getaway - Ever - We stayed for two nights in the white cockatoo villa. It was hands down the BEST place we have ever stayed (and we are kindof fussy). There was a breakfast hamper and cheese platter waiting for us, along with a good selection of tea and coffee (it has a full coffee machine in the room). We didn't leave the whole time we were there except to take a short walk through the rainforest via a trail off the grounds. We ordered two curries in night one, and nachos for two on the second night- both were delicious. The service was excellent also, they were very accommodating and friendly.

Ali & Xochi are the perfect hosts and have created the the perfect little hideaway. The courtesy pick up and drop off to a local restaurant makes for the easiest relaxing dinner out. The people were all beautiful. The BBQ hamper, daily handmade croissants and breakfast basket are to die for. Sabrina & Sabina the masseuses that come to your cabin are beautiful and helped us relax more than ever. Loved the little encounters with the wildlife, cute little visit from a possum at dark. We actually experienced the little earthquake on Saturday and the cabins all held up just fine and we continued to enjoy our beautiful weekend. We can not thank you all enough for making our weekend away the best we have ever had. We will certainly be back and reccomend you to everyone we can and anyone and everyone reading this. • Pathfinder775813 (10/5): Relaxing time at Narrows Escape - Had a lovely mid-week stay at the Narrows Escape Rainforest Retreat. The cabin was very spacious with a fully equipped kitchen, living room with fireplace and spa bath, bedroom and large bathroom with double shower, as well as the deck with BBQ. We took advantage of one of the packages offered - 'Hinterland Highlights' which was perfect with most food and some activities organised for us to simply enjoy. The food hampers were very generous. We especially enjoyed the picnic hamper that we took to Maleny Botanical Gardens (wine, cheese, crackers, salami, salad, fruit, bread, juice, and chocolates) and the BBQ hamper (steaks, sausages, baked potatoes, garlic bread, salad, ice creams) that was delivered to our cabin. The breakfast hamper was good as well, complimented with fresh croissants each morning. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed the relaxing stay and chance to explore the area.

• Nomad474749 (10/5): Best in the world…I can see why - It was our third time staying at Narrows and each time has been an amazing experience - the attention to detail with helping organise in room massages (on each stay), helping select activities, and the finer small surprises with attention to details such as ready to make espresso martinis, the complimentary bottle of sherry, the ready-to-light fireplace, the daily delivered hot croissants in the heater bag, the cheese platter on arrival and the brekky hamper with all the Maleny supplied wares, the warmed magnesium pool set into the middle of the forest were all part of the magic, only matched by the friendly effortless service of Ali and Xochi. Deserves 6 stars if there was a rating!!
• SeanW2847 (10/5): Definitely the right place to sit back and relax away from the hustle and bustle of life! - We booked a romantic 2 night package in the white cockatoo room and it was definitely worth it. The food and drinks available on arrival and throughout our stay, plus all of the care taken with our whole weekend, from organizing an in room massage, to dinner out in Montville, nothing was an issue at all. We were very happy with our stay and would recommend to anyone looking for a weekend trip away!
• TO265_12 (6/5): Disappointing - 1. Summary a. location was nice but not worth the money and wouldn't recommend to friends b. We have stayed in better 3 star accommodation 2. Overall vibe was that the ownership had changed hands and the bare minimum was being done on maintenance a. some of the decking boards had been replaced but others were soft and on their way out but not replaced b. the vertical slats on some fence/screens around villas had been replaced but the top had not been squared off to match the original installations and left different length slats i.e. lack of attention to detail and quality 3. The initial reception was friendly but we had difficulty understanding what he was saying 4. The croissants each morning were nice and warm 5. Mosquitos in outdoor area so couldn't sit for more than 10 minutes to enjoy the scenery 6. Lounge chairs had padding that never dried despite having at least one day with no rain so were unusable 7. Bed was way too soft 8. Didn't automatically replenish the following - had to ask a. coffee beans b. fire starters 9. The milk frother on the coffee machine didn't work 10. Chocolate left on the bed had expired several weeks earlier 11. Magnesium pool wasn't warm enough. Could only stay in for 5 minutes at a time 12. Instructions weren't correct a. the flue for the fire was to be pushed to the right to increase airflow when starting the fire but it needed to be to the left b. spare firelighters were to be found in the third drawer but there weren't any
• Abbott (10/5): A Quite Place 🫂💓 - Such an incredible atmosphere hits you as soon as you get out of your car. Complete silence... you could hear a pin drop. Super friendly and attentive staff. Even though there are other villas around they are positioned well to keep your privacy at a maximum while still taking in the natural beauty of the location. Not really an issue for us during the stay but for people who need to be connected the phone reception is not great (non existent in the villa) and there is no wifi.

On arrival, we were warmly welcomed and shown to our room. Every little extra touch and thoughtful inclusion made our stay really special. The breakfast hamper, dinner and barbecue packs were VERY generous and delicious. They also organised and booked a dinner out and a picnic hamper which were both great. The hikes in kondalilla are beautiful and we're glad we listened to their recommendations on where to go and what to see. The room itself is very lovely - the deck and private heated pool are amazing!! The barbecue was clean and the fireplace was well stocked with wood and kindling. No issues with wifi and streaming movies/TV. We loved our stay!! Thank you so much!

Our Villa was absolute heaven! Kitchen had everything you need, super comfy bed, bathroom large and luxurious, deck was wonderful and heated plunge pool just perfect. We got the BBQ hamper one night. It was fabulous and well worth the money. The warm croissants each morning we delicious, and the breakfast hamper had everything you could want. Wifi works pretty well too. The Hosts had to have been the best part, from supplying freshly made warm croissants each morning, and come evening, we would order some jugs of their delicious cocktails which were delivered directly to our room. • JulianneC138 (10/5): A beautiful environment with perfect hosts and luxury care and comfort - We spent the Easter weekend with our daughter and son-in-law in the Black Cockatoo and White Cockatoo villas and had a wonderful time. Narrows Escape is the most charming place owned and operated by the most charming family. From beginning to end they were endlessly helpful, welcoming us at 11.30 at night (after a delayed flight) with hot casseroles, including a gluten free option, for our dinner and farewelling us with jumper leads to kick start the flat battery in our car! Such generous and genuine hospitality is hard to find! Each morning we woke up to the calls of the whip bird with the sun pecking through the forest surrounding us in all directions, and fresh buttery croissants (gluten free muffins for our daughter) in their padded bags waiting for us on the hook outside our villa. Then a dip in our deliciously warm pool before meeting up with our daughter and son-in-law to explore the nearby national parks and villages. When we weren't enjoying excellent food at the nearby Long Apron restaurant, we fired up the bbq and all sat on our spacious verandah with a glass of wine, a few beers and either the excellent BBQ pack, with the best gluten free brownies, provided by our hosts or cooked for ourselves in the well equipped kitchen. Thank you so much for all your care and attention.
• c0rrang (10/5): Not luxurious but has an overall charm about it - This property advertises itself as luxury, which I’m not sure I agree with. It’s not five star in terms of facilities or service. However, it has an overall charm about it that makes for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. We stayed in Rosella for 2 nights which is one of the rainforest rooms, so we didn’t get a plunge pool. But the villa is large and very well equipped. The owners are very welcoming and have tried to think of everything to make your stay comfortable. We bbq’d both nights, as after eating out for the last 2 weeks it was nice just to be able to eat what and when we wanted. We purchased the bbq pack from the hotel on the first night, which was reasonable value. We saw quite a bit of wildlife from our rear deck, an iguana, cockatoos and 2 possums. To sit on your deck in the evening and have a possum come down and eat the bird food right in front of you is amazing. Overall I recommend this hotel and would have no hesitation in returning.

The service was beyond exceptional—we were treated to complimentary champagne, chocolates, roses, cheese, and freshly baked croissants every morning. They even offered personal drives into town and on excursions, making our stay effortless, luxurious and well worth it. Every detail was thoughtfully taken care of, and the hospitality was truly five-star. Montville is also a really cute little town with good restaurants and services, would come back! Bed is almost too soft/spongy

Very deep heated plunge pool, we enjoyed it immensely while it rained. The villa was clean, and positioned to feel private even though the next villa's were close. The food was outstanding. Fresh and delicious and on time with some already in the villa. The morning croissants were a special touch & the wine choices were spot on. Ali & Xochi exude a passion for their clients, always happy to help and contactable, we thank you for your hospitality. The stay was pricey, but we feel we got what we paid for and do recommend this if you want to spoil yourselves or your someone.

Ali was very accomodating and an absolute amazing host. He made sure we had everything we needed and we loved the complementary cocktail on arrival and the breakfast hamper. We loved every minute of our stay. The villa was beautifully set out amongst the beautiful rainforest. We will be coming back again.

Has a little creek walk and birds and possum came to visit our balcony. Thank you Ali and Xochi. That our stay ended. Lol- seriously, nothing not to like.

We are frequent visitors to the region and were looking to try somewhere new and Narrows Escape didn’t disappoint. We stayed for 4 nights in the Black Cockatoo Villa with its completely private plunge pool which is under roof. The ability to be under cover, in a pool heated to 34 degrees, staring at the surrounding rainforest even while the after effects of ex TC Alfred was lingering around was truly relaxing and just the ticket. The kitchen/bathroom amenities are stylish and well equipped and the internet connection is great for logging into your favourite streaming services on the TV. We took our own supplies for dinner and along with the fruit basket, breakfast hamper and fresh, warm croissants that are discreetly delivered daily, there is truly no reason to leave. Thank you Ali and Xochi for a relaxing getaway.

Having visited before and aware of the countless prestigious awards the retreat has received, our expectations were high. However, Narrows Escape went above and beyond, surpassing them in every way. From the moment we arrived, we were transported to a serene paradise. Everything we needed for a luxurious retreat was thoughtfully provided. The special touches were countless: espresso martinis, quality breakfast ingredients, a fruit basket, homemade jams and biscuits, a decanter of port with crystal glasses, fresh flowers, candles, firewood ready to go, and our very own private plunge pool. The lovely host, Xochi, made our stay even more memorable by helping us celebrate at the world-class restaurant Spirit House, organizing a driver to take us there and bring us back. As we drove away from Narrows Escape, we felt recalibrated and joyful. We have visited many fabulous retreats around the world, and Narrows Escape is truly on par with the best of them.

• LizB2084 (10/5): Serene rainforest getaway - Lovely, serene, private accommodation directly in the rainforest. A beautiful space to spend a few romantic days just relaxing and being in nature. Very comfortable beds, deep soaking tubs, wood fire, bathrobes and slippers. The food was excellent: generous breakfast hampers, daily fresh croissants, espresso machine, chocolates, and wonderful dinner options straight to your door. It felt very intimate and special. Ali and Xochi were thoughtful and gracious hosts.
