Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We enjoyed staying at the cottage! It was perfect to hike Mount Batur. The food is cooked from scratch and is delicious. The staff is very nice.
- steve (2/5): No maintenance noisy pumps - It's a good view of the Batu lake and that's all.
The building is more like a tent that hasn't been maintained. Then pumps start up 5 in the morning to water vegetables
- Katie (8/5): Lake side views of Batur - The cabins have glass walls with a beautiful view across the lake. Close to Batur and the hot springs, not very much else to do in the area, but we went for these two activities. Helpful staff who could arrange taxis at a reasonable price, and good food in their own restaurant.
- Nick (10/5): - Baruna cottages were well equipped and the staff were very helpful and friendly. A nice breakfast was included in the costs and we were supplied with fresh fruit at each meal and encouraged to take whatever we needed. Very peaceful spot on the lakefront. Owner was also very helpful in finding a taxi and providing advice on the area.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Location was excellent and the staff could not have been warmer. We highly recommend the local grilled fish that the staff caught fresh every night, the trek up to the top of the volcano at sunrise was unforgettable and Trunyan village and cemetery. We also loved getting to know the family, their children and pets. I got to walk the dog every morning!
- Michael (8/5): Sweet owners - The hotel owner and his family are very nice and accomadating. They even invited us out to their farm and gave us a bag of oranges. Our cottage was very basic but clean enough and the view of the lake was nice. We enjoyed being off the beaten path but it may be useful go rent a motorbike if you can so you don't have to continue to pay drivers.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Do not stay here! - This hotel is awful! There are thousands / millions of flies everywhere as it over looks a lake . In the morning everyone was covered with dead flies. You can't even have a shower as they cover the whole room . The owner was helpful and did refund us 50% as we had to leave because of the conditions .
- Yuan (2/5): Don't go - I paied two nights, but staied one night and left. This is not a hotel, it is a farm with a couple of local houses. The staff didn't know what they were doing, slow and most of the time no response. The food is bad, too many flies. Away from town. No way to go shopping. The worst experience I have ever had in my thirty days trip in Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and Bali.
I suggest hotels.com terminate the contract with this hotel.
- girls in bali (2/5): A eviter - avoid it - At our arrival the staff had no proof of our reservation. They had not prepared the room and didnt know if we had paied for it already. But we got agressed by them as they wanted to sell us the mont batur ride with their guide. And them try to make us reserved for the restaurant at night. A guy who seemed to be a friend of them showed us its painting trying to sell it. It was the worst experience ever.
- Ingo (8/5): Schöne Lage direkt am See. - Top Ausgangslage für eine Tour auf den Mount Batur. Schöner Balkon mit Blick auf den See.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Right on the banks of the lake...great location. - Great location, friendly staff...and rustic. It didn't feel like a formal hotel/rental place since we didn't get towels. I am sure everything was available if we bothered to ask.
- Eleise (6/5): Lovely family-run cottages - Putu was very attentive. We even had a choice of accommodation. The village is peaceful and tranquil on the edge of the lake. We met "Ugly" was was a funny character who is a very talented artist. The family who run this hotel are lovely. I especially loved the fact that this location is away from all the hawkers. A stroll along the road a sunset into the village felt completely safe. People waved and said hello.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Nice view over lake Bratan - Good place to start for vulcano climbing.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - This is not really a hotel but a small number of rooms around a shabby house. The rooms are very rudimentary. Chickens ran freely throughout, including the dining room, where one defecated on the floor. The owner was away and the young people apparently in charge spoke scant English. The room was not cleaned until we asked for this to de done. Hotels.com said there would be a c
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We stayed there on New Year's Eve to be close to Mt. Batur for an early morning hike. The hotel staff were very friendly and the accommodation had a family feel to it.
I would stay there again.
